That's what I always say to my colleagues: there's a burger King to the other side of the street! " - and" this is a restaurant, if they only want a coffee tell them that there's a bar to the left side and one on the right side! "
The customers seating themselves is the one that bugs me the most! I started saying " oh you don't have menus! Who sat you? They're not doing there job are they?!" Then they usually reply embarrassed " oh no we sat ourselves" to which I reply "oh well then that's why you don't have menus."
As a hostess when people seat themselves i just go home cuz obviously they don't need me. And yes you got terrible service and your table was dirty cuz you sat yourselves. I know what I'm doing, I know the floor plan, and I'm not stupid. If there's an open table that doesn't mean you can have it. If theres an open table and i haven't seated you its not cuz I'm an idiot its cuz the server in the section isn't ready yet. Like Calm tf down stupid customers.
the "please wait to be seated" thing is too accurate. don't waltz in here, sit down and get mad at me for not getting u menus. that's the point of us seating u. SO WE CAN SEAT U + GIVE U MENUS.
One time this lady was arguing with my manager and she said "the customer is supposed to always be right" and my manager looked her dead in the eyes and said "umm noo..."
UGH I've been a server for 3 years and I can't stand when people walk right past the Please Wait To Be Seated sign. And of course sit down at the ONE dirty table and then act irritated that it wasn't cleaned. Yeah, our busser is psychic and knew you were going to ignore the hostess. Have you ever been to a restaurant before? It's not hard to grasp how this works.
People dont realise restaurants are about experience, they want fast, go to McDonald's.when you sit down you're at the back of the line, just like the person that came in right before them.
People are very rude/ill mannered/horrible in restaurants.I was a server for a few years and by the end of my time there I had truly enough. They want 5*(star) service for 1*(star)price. We serve the food/we don't cook it.We are not there to be abused and ill treated.
LOL this one time when I was hosting on a busy Saturday night, these two ladies sat themselves at the table and I legit walked up to the table and asked them "would you like to be on a waiting list?" and they got so offended I don't even care XD
I literally had two women order a personal pizza and two minutes later, they started yelling at me "where's our order?!"! Apparently I'm the genie that can materialize pizza in two minutes. If you are a frequent restaurant customer, just be nice. And remember this: 1) The food will not come quicker for you just cuz you say you're in a rush, 2) Think of the menu as set in stone. You shouldn't drive us crazy by changing our recipes to fit your taste. If you don't like what we offer, GTFO 3) If you don't tip after a large meal, you're an asshole. If you don't tip after a small meal, you're an asshole. 4) If you clog the bathroom toilet, and leave without telling anyone, the next time I see you, I'm going to flush you down it. 5) Waitresses are not the chef. We don't make the food. And we don't appreciate you telling us how to make it either.
Springs Doe, I've seen your disrespectful comments a few too many times, man. I hope you aren't serious about all of those things.. I hope you're just trolling. There are better ways to voice yourself, without writing obnoxious things. Bless your heart ✌🏼
Agree with everything except for the set in stone menu. I personally see nothing wrong with little changes. But the people who change it to being something entirely different? They suck
The menu is not exactly set in stone, but when i hear "lactose free creamy sauce" i truely get an itch deep inside my brain. You can add whatever your heart desires(it may not be advisable), taking away might be the problem. And if you expect me to straight swap onion to chicken, i will just slap you across the face...
Never thought I would like to be a waitress.... But I've been a waitress for 3 months now, and I love it. But the audacity of some costumers never seem to amaze me. Highschool is right next to the cafe I work at, and highschool kids come in that cafe, move the tables, move the chairs, leave their garbage on tables, only order water.... Old people that think they are some big shots because they know our menager, so they act like royalties.
High school children are children some don't know better. I realize its not your job to teach them manners but if you don't say something there going to think nothing is wrong.
William Froh its not her job to reach them they have their parents for that. Also when you are in highschool you are no child. If you were a toddler or at least younger then 13 I would be consierate and understandable, but highschool? No. At that age you should know some manners and wat is acceptable and what is not. What is rude and what is polite. If at that age they act like that, well their parents clearly haven't taught them any better
irritating_soprano as an owner I can tell you the owner has no friends and just because you know me, doesn’t mean you are gonna get treated any better than the rest of my paying customers. Everyone deserves a good experience.
Really hope you keep finding joy in it. After 10 years in the business myself, Ive seen a lot of people start off super pumped and end up quitting after a year or less. But it seems you have a good attitude to say you love it even with horrible guests. Thats important. For me, its both the best and worst job on earth, but luckly im allowed to actually reply back to snapping customers like she does in this film. Or, at least, somewhat similarly ;) Ive also had a guest say "yes I hear you but im right because the customer is always right you know..." to which I replied "first of all, you are guests here, not customers. Secondly, WE invented that phrase and it actually means the customer is never right, but you should act like they are... But im being honest with you instead because you are very wrong" :D
I am a host and the other day had a man with a laptop seat himself at a table with preset silver ware but no menu. He complained that he didn't get a menu, so his waiter brought him one really quickly but wasnt ready for another table at the time. The waiter continued to serve food in his section and prebus and all that then finally got to the man asap and the man was a little irritated but he ordered reguardless. He just wanted a salad. He got the salad but then left like 5 minutes later complaining about not having silver ware and he's not paying for terrible service blah blah blah. HOWEVER, the waiter said he saw the silverware under the mans laptop. The man must have just not seen it... Crazy
Its a painful reality...i quited last time and as long as i can i will stay away from restaurants. "The customer is always right", thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard. Stay strong fellow waiters and waitresses.
I absolutely HATE when customers snap their fingers at me... or scream “ma’am” from across the restaurant... Also, I wish we could record the customers on what they say they want to eat or drink, so when they say “I didn’t order that” we have proof they did.
Dragon Lankford there’s actually a restaurant where servers can talk shit to the customers and its really popular look it up its called Dicks Last Resort
The snapping of fingers pisses me off, two customers did that and I wanted to slap her plate of food across her face, and the other lady, I was going to tell you're better off having your husband drive you to a barn to eat your nutritious haystacks
My manager once told me to very specifically serve people who were snapping at me last. I also ignore people who wave money at me, and those who whistle. Not a dog, not a stripper. GTFO.
Every time they say we are in rush. I just want to say look around here is another 100 people. But its okay they will wait just for you to get out of here in 5 minutes so we can continue our party.
Absolutely love this. It's so so true. You appreciate so much what members of the service/retail industry go through. This sums up the Waitering experience, although you forgot to include the part where any hard earned tips you do get, go straight into a pot for the company, which you never actually see. Or if you do it's that £10 Christmas bonus that every staff member gets whether they earnt it or not. Haha sorry bringing up some old memories.
This is why I used to take a shot or 2 of tequila on my break sometimes. Now, I just take a hit of the devils lettuce and float though the rest of my shift
I've worked as a waiter for like 2 years in the in last week of it I swear I fucked up the costumers sometimes they get really rude it's like a fucked up people who didn't get enough love when they grew up
god how i wish.. when tables seat themselves and snap me over for a menu, the first thing i ask is “did a hostess seat you? that’s probably why you don’t have menus then.” it’s the little things.
Finally! I really loved it ! A lot of recognizable and typical costumer tipes. By the way i met my girlfriend like in this moovie 🙊 greetings from Hungary !
Server almost 2 years now, started at 15, and oh my living breathing god is this true. I work at a pizza and pasta place. The coworkers are amazing but the customers...phone orders make me want to chuck plates at people. The people who yell at me for what the cook did literally dont deserve the luxury if restaurants. And the people that order huge amounts of food amd dont tip dont deserve love. Plain and simple.
People waitresses are not slaves and are not less than you. Treat them like goddamn people. Say please and fucking thank you. Dont order something and then blame the waitress or waiter if it isnt cooked right because guess fucking what, they aren't the cook and please please please dont seat yourself. Just dont.
So why do we have to pay attention to people snapping their fingers? I already told one, “ I’m not a dog, so please do not do that.” And he was apologizing. SOOOOO ACCURATE...
I used to work in a bowling hall as a waitress and we had kids party's there and depending on how many families booked we had to prepare the tables. for example a booking with 6 children got a small table, a booking with 20 kids got a large table etc. if we only had one booking we sat them anywhere, but if we had many bookings, we had to think it through. So one day we were FULLY booked and this mom came in with her teenage daughter (teenagers arent included in the package, only small children) and 1. Of all she didn't come to me to get her table, she just sat down at a large table. I went up to her and asked her what her name was because there was a high possibility that this isn't her table. So she told me her name and of course it wasn't the right table so I showed her the smaller table and she was like "but i like this table better" and I was like "I'm sorry but we have a lot of birthdays today and this table is prepared for 13 children, you only have 6 children and we can't switch it" and SHE CONTINUED saying stuff like "but this table is closer and has a better view!!" And i was like yes, but the damn 13 other children won't fit at your small table if you take this large table. At some point her teenage daughter got really embarrassed and told her mom to stop and sit at the right table, but the mom still said "no I want to sit here". We argued for minutes and i felt like I'll become rude any moment so I called my colleague who has worked there for longer than I did to get this woman to her assigned table. They also argued for minutes, before i saw the mom finally sitting down grumpy at the small table. Witch.
Brooo i feel for waiters who have to deal with customers like those two women, my friends mother is like that and its the most embarrassing thing to have to eat out with her because even when I tell her to stop she just tells me “its their jooob dont worry about it”
Snapping of the fingers...sigh had that happen I told the chef that if they kept it up I would need a bucket of ice to cool those pricks off. The other waiter and me took turns with them in order not to end up in jail afterwards. Most whiny selfish, arrogant, stuck up snobs I've ever had and we've had all sorts of people. I'd still take screaming infants over them.
"How long is the wait Cuz we have an appointment to get to???" "How long is the wait Cuz we have to get to the hospital to meet my grandsons mom." Me:.............
I had a customer ordered toasted toast with her dip and I ask her do you mean toasted bread. She said yes. When I brought it out to her, she demanded to talk to a manager because it wasn’t what she order. She wanted CROUTONS!! Why can’t she say that in the first place?! Like bruh, croutons and toast are two different things! Was it so hard to say croutons?!
Aaallll of this! Customers seating themselves and then out of ALL the tables they choose the ONLY dirty one??? And then complain it’s dirty and they don’t have menus?? Like no shit you don’t have menus. You ignored the sign, snuck in when my back was turned and sat yourselves. People claiming they’re in a rush and need to be served instantly and then sitting for hours???
I sat these old people at a clean table by a window and pulled the shades and it was perfectly fine. They insisted on another table even though none of them were clean. I told them there wasn't a busser on duty or arriving for another hour. When i came back they moved themselves to the dirty table and said "we just decided to move, someone will clean it." And I just walked away and said "okay!" Like are you deaf there's literally no one going to clean it.......there isn't a fucking busser here.
Seriously, if you're "in a rush" just go to McDonalds.
That's what I always say to my colleagues: there's a burger King to the other side of the street! " - and" this is a restaurant, if they only want a coffee tell them that there's a bar to the left side and one on the right side! "

Melanie Bello lol I feel you. It's even worse when there is a sign that says, "Please wait to be seated".
SAAAAAME! Especially when it’s busy!
Melanie Bello yep
As a hostess when people seat themselves i just go home cuz obviously they don't need me. And yes you got terrible service and your table was dirty cuz you sat yourselves. Dude liked it rough lol
those 2 thumbs down are probably people who act like that at restaurants
MariaElena hahahahahahaha
...The kind of people who've never been in the industry but have a professional opinion anyways.
the "please wait to be seated" thing is too accurate. don't waltz in here, sit down and get mad at me for not getting u menus. that's the point of us seating u. SO WE CAN SEAT U + GIVE U MENUS.
I shouldn't be watching this before my shift. I might accidentally quote this tonight.
As a server this video is soo satisfying to watch omfg
Customers are not always right

so true
I HATE IT WHEN THEY SNAP their fingers I feel like cutting them and making them eat it
Ignore them completely.
A friend of mine once replied back to a customer that did that to him with "It takes a lot more than TWO fingers to make me come!"
Barry McDaniel lmao
Barry McDaniel thats beautiful.
Karabo Mokone I've seen other customers tell people your server isn't a dog.
I like when people tell me they are in a hurry. It's like. Great. Nice. I'll tell them to hurry because that's possible
The Skitt One time I had someone tell me they were in a hurry and they ordered a steak well done! Clearly you’re not in much of a hurry.
People dont realise restaurants are about experience, they want fast, go to McDonald's.when you sit down you're at the back of the line, just like the person that came in right before them.
The kitchen will more than likely take alot longer when told a table is in a hurry lol
You should just not give their order to the kitchen for a few minutes and purposely make them wait longer
They should go to a McDonald’s or something instead then
People are very rude/ill mannered/horrible in restaurants.I was a server for a few years and by the end of my time there I had truly enough. They want 5*(star) service for 1*(star)price.
We serve the food/we don't cook it.We are not there to be abused and ill treated.
For real. And then its worse when your coworkers make you look stupid and talk as if you are IN ADDITIONT TO STEALING YOUR TABLES AND TIPS.
Haha.. the customers seating themselves, sitting on a dirty table then complaining about NOT getting menus and the dirty tables :'))
When they say the all famous line "I've been a server before" or "im a server". Doesn't mean you get to tell me how to do my job!
Y’all this is IT. We are not less of people because we are serving you! Be nice!!!!
Perfect description of being a server. Thank you for the post shift therapy.

The pain of being a server... I wish we could really treat some customers the way they deserve to be...
this made me feel a lot better about work tomorrow.
All the tables could be clean except one and there will be a customer that is going to sit at it and the complain!!!!
This one is so true!

I don't understand why guests choose dirty table and then ask u to clean it. Damn
Anyway it was a great job great idea Anna
When they say they are in a hurry and you do everything quick af and then they decide to sit and talk for an hour after they eat.
Customer is always right to express his opinion , that s doesn't make people right .
We need a short film just like this but for those who work in retail
Waiting and the 40 year old Virgin (best examples i have seen anyway)
The worst thing is when they genuinely believe they occupy the moral high ground
Had to laugh at the truth of the specials. Lol
Its a painful reality...i quited last time and as long as i can i will stay away from restaurants. "The customer is always right", thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard. Stay strong fellow waiters and waitresses.
unknown _element Kaiba would never be a grummy waiter
I feel like every server needed this short film and it needs to be shared WORLD WIDE PLEASEEEE lol

When does this restaurant open I wanna work there
Dragon Lankford there’s actually a restaurant where servers can talk shit to the customers and its really popular look it up its called Dicks Last Resort
As a waitress I absolutely love this only thing it's missing is the old guys that want "hands-on" service
“do you remember now” save that for the busy days
The snapping of fingers pisses me off, two customers did that and I wanted to slap her plate of food across her face, and the other lady, I was going to tell you're better off having your husband drive you to a barn to eat your nutritious haystacks
Someone snapped their fingers at me when I was working the other day...at the dollar tree
@@tinahaller3295 wow! That's messed up
My manager once told me to very specifically serve people who were snapping at me last. I also ignore people who wave money at me, and those who whistle. Not a dog, not a stripper. GTFO.
The customer is never right :D
This video is hilarious
The server is so me 😂 i'm currently working as a part-timer waitress, having to serve customers like those are so frustrating!
I've just had the worst shift ever, this is exactly what I needed!
Alexia Asch me too after 2 shifts as a server 😩😩
Try 8 years of this shit
been there done that ,you should do one about cooks they go through a lot too
Every time they say we are in rush. I just want to say look around here is another 100 people. But its okay they will wait just for you to get out of here in 5 minutes so we can continue our party.
Absolutely love this. It's so so true. You appreciate so much what members of the service/retail industry go through. Or if you do it's that £10 Christmas bonus that every staff member gets whether they earnt it or not.
Haha sorry bringing up some old memories.
There needs to be a super like button for this video!
This is why I used to take a shot or 2 of tequila on my break sometimes.
Now, I just take a hit of the devils lettuce and float though the rest of my shift
LIFE IN A RESTAURANT IS NOT EASY BUT SPECIALLY DUE THD TYPE OF PEOPLE ONE HAS TO DEAL WITH !
Would never talk to a server like that, it's disgusting. They're only trying to do their job.
This is so accurate it hurts to laugh. 😂
Im a server/cook and i can relate to every single thing in this video
EXCELLENT!
What every waiter/waitress wishes they could do to rude customers
i loveee how beautifully this was produced
edit: i’ve been waitressing for three years this is too real
I'll never get tired of this video.
Wow what a gorgeous team hahaha i got distracted 😂😍
This was very accurate 😂
very nice short film, I wish I can do that sometimes hahaha
One of the best products i have ever seen on UA-cam, big congratulations
Sarcasm?
Nope
Finally! I really loved it ! A lot of recognizable and typical costumer tipes. By the way i met my girlfriend like in this moovie 🙊 greetings from Hungary !
As a waiter I can say this is brilliant!

Bullshit the customer is not always right, i also dont disrespect sales staff or hospitality workers.
This is exactly how I’d be as a server... exactly why I can’t be one
05:02 describes every shift end I have😂
The worst is when you are helping one of your tables and your other table starts calling you over like you aren't doing shit
Gosh, I dream of this all the time. I wish I could speak my mind and talk back to my costumers at work.
So why do we have to pay attention to people snapping their fingers? I already told one, “ I’m not a dog, so please do not do that.” And he was apologizing. SOOOOO ACCURATE...

Ready for Golden Globe?!!!!!!! From my heart!!!
I agree so much. I wish I could do some of these when the customers are rude.
I would marry her :D
My boss punches me if I call a Guest a "Customer" 😂
Hahaha... Loved it.
You should continue the story...
As you really talented ❤️😘
3:46 is so accurate
Only we can imagine it.. nothing else
Brooo i feel for waiters who have to deal with customers like those two women, my friends mother is like that and its the most embarrassing thing to have to eat out with her because even when I tell her to stop she just tells me “its their jooob dont worry about it”
Where does your friend's mom work? I wanna pay her a visit and see how she deals with the same attitude.

Ugh I wish I could do this to people that don’t know how to behave
way too relatable
Plus picking the table that hasn't yet been cleaned , one of the bigger gripes
I love this video! 😂
This is so well made!
Omg this video cracked me up, I can sooooo relate!
Great Job! hope to see more videos on on the hospitality industry from your channel.
This is so so wonderful.... keep making more videos....
You can say whatever you like. When you're the bartender ;)
Hahaha been in restaurants for 15 years. So true that's why I stay in the BOH.
"How long is the wait Cuz we have an appointment to get to???"
"How long is the wait Cuz we have to get to the hospital to meet my grandsons mom."
Me:.............
Im a waitress so feel this to the core
When she gets wicked, she gets pretty!
Brilliant😂😂

Like bruh, croutons and toast are two different things! Was it so hard to say croutons?!
I would probably leave a $50 tip if this happened to me.
They should put what fast food workers think about customers about complaining just to get free food
This is a very good & creative video, keep doing the great work
I wish could say so in my restaurant
