I love this Craft & Chat idea Susan! Your tutorials are great, but just watching your process & hearing your thoughts is really great too. It’s oddly calming to hear the tone of your voice as you calmly & confidently work away. I don’t own any beads and I tried polymer before I got bored. I’m still here with you tho, not because of how talented you are teaching tutorials, but because of your demeanor, personality & outlook on life, not just beads & clay. ♥️
I found you through the polymer clay, and that's my 'thing'. I love your tutorials, but I think I like this new format even better! We honestly do appreciate you so much!! So you take as much time as you need to get refreshed and we will wait until you are ready to come back. We will binge watch your present videos!! I love your doll too! And ur turtle video makes me laugh so hard that no matter how crappy my day went, the turtles set things right again! So rest when you need to!!!
I love this. If making tutorials takes too much work then please make more of these kinds of videos. You could do each step, and when one step takes too long, like baking, rolling out the clay to make a skinner blend, then just shut off the camera and then start filming again when done. I don't think anyone who watches you would mind longer videos like these.
I actually prefer this kind of video to edited tutorials. It shows the process of coming up with a design and shows where you go wrong and how you fix your mistakes. It also shows more timid beaders/beginners, that not everything you do, comes out perfectly the first time around and gives them confidence to try new things of their own.

Well when I miss finding a new video from you I rewatch the old ones. As a crafter I fully appreciate the work you put into all you do. When I really need a pick me up I rewatch the studio tour videos. I see something new every time. It looks so amazing. It’s cozy and inspiring and leaves me reaching for my crafting supplies. I just love the doll at the start of your videos! Your work is just Beautiful! You inspire us! I'm now taking a beading class on Fridays! I want to learn as much as I can about beading and making jewelry ! Your work in clay just is stunning ! It will take awhile but I will master it from learning from you! I love to see you create. I have been buying beads for a few years. But I haven't tried to do what you do! Please keep making videos. Whatever kind you like to make I will watch!!
This format was a lot of fun. I'm way too intimidated to do beading lol, but I loved the longer vid and watching you work through your process. Thank you for sharing!
I can't tell you how many times I have started something and didn't like it and pulled it all apart and started over. It takes a bunch of fails before you find that ah haaa moment sometimes. But play and have fun, you just might surprise yourself.
Susan I love anything you decide to share with us, even what you call mess up are beautiful! I like both of your craftsmanship with clay and beads equally. I am so grateful that I find you on UA-cam! I can't wait until I retire soon so I can really get into the clay and beading! So sorry your bored! Thank you for sharing with us. I love your eye for color. Its joy and wonderful get alway to watch whatever doing on video.
Great video, Susan. I’m sure you will be pleased to know that I learned what to do and not to do. Your a wonderful teacher. Btw, I was chatting right along with you. 😊 I just wish you could have heard me, too.😉 Thank you so much. ❤️
Honestly Susan, I found you because of polymer clay, I love that a piece of jewelry made with polymer clay is truly an art piece from start to finish. I see other jewelry made of real stones and gold and silver and to me it is just someone putting things together while making a polymer clay piece is creating every single aspect of that piece. So I to me the purchased beads, although beautiful are secondary. When I see your finish pieces I see the polymer clay as the crown jewel. Now the best reason I get so excited when I see you have a new video is Princess Abu.. love, love her! Thanks for all the videos you have created, I have watched some 10 or more times and each time I learn something new!
Ur amazing and we appreciate all that u do! Love ur down to earth attitude and relieve and the stress and judgement we put on ourselves! : ) ur a wonderful loving caring woman! I respect and admire u! Thank u for everything! Cheers to u!
Hi Susan! I totally get what you mean by getting bored. I mean, I've only ever done one tutorial (working on my second), but it's the same thing over and over. I LOVE your concept of Craft and Chat. This totally works! As long as you're happy. :)
Oh, right, I would have a really hard time giving up either clay or beads. I know I've spent way more on beads than clay, so I would probably give up clay...I feel terrible for saying it, ha ha!
I like the chat and craft idea..... because it can get boring and difficult on the viewing side too. One thing I find hard is to never see the artist producing the videos. Some like to show us only their hands...one in England makes spectacular work, and I have no idea even what she looks like! For this reason, I love to see you and your studio tours. Your tutorials have become a part of my life. I know what you mean by hearing people decry what makes you happy. I give riding lessons on very large and special donkeys that I keep. I've helped at least 8 children have a great experience with a trustworthy animal, and I love helping people ride, especially children. I don't know why I love the donkeys and kids as I do....I just do. I also love polymer clay and jewelry making, and use it to relax from the physical fatigue of farm work. I've learned a lot from you, and I'm grateful you make tutorials.... when your name pops up on my screen with a new video, I watch it immediately. Maybe each of us works in solitude....I know I have to... however because of people like you on UA-cam, I do not feel lonely. I call it UA-cam University... I'm always going to school! You are my respected teacher! Here's to what we love!
Liking this. I have one thing to say though. If it's perfect it's not handmade. I'd rather have something unique then to have cookie cutter just like everyone else
Oh my Susan I loved this chit chat it felt so relaxing 😊😊I am sat here taking a brake from sorting out my work station working on my embroidery piece listening and glancing up as you point out something and hearing the cat in the background was fun. I loved listening to you and the off the cuff designing has been such a enjoyable change. 😹😹😹me I’m the same I’m a hoarder when it comes to my many hobbies I get boarded easy and this is why I have many hobbies 😹😹 thank you for such a fun video 😹😹 live feed is good but they can drag out way too long. I like this format it was fun 🤗🤗 I too have missed all of the shows that we have here in Australia and we don’t have as many as the States. I started out as an oil painter me Mom said I was born with the brush in me hand as we have a few painters in our family line. One year Mom took me to the London museums when I was young and we saw a dress worn by Elizabeth I and I fell in love with embroidery work so I set out to teach my self how to embroidery which then led to the use of beads within some of my projects so I have been collecting beads and embroidery threads now for 50 years I am now 57 so I have a great collection then I watched someone make something in polymer clay and just had to have a go and from there I got into beading work as in jewellery making my own beads I loved I could do miniature work with clay 😹😹I now have way to many hobbies and now enough days in the week or hours in the day to spend on them all but when I do I have fun😹😹😹 I love your approach to working with clay you helped me to relax and go with the flow and this has helped me a lot since I first watched your first UA-cam feed 2 years ago 🤗🤗🤗
I LOVE YOUR TUTORIALS! Thanks to all of your hard work, I now play with polymer clay and beading...you're SO inspiring! I'm totally jealous of your marvelous studios and wish I could create that kind of space for myself. Don't lose heart; we love you out here! This chat and create is great. THANKS!!!
What a great idea! Love your tutorials but this way I get the best of both worlds. Breaks the loneliness factor. Bless you for doing this. Your work has taught me a hobby and a measure of happiness that is wonderful. Thank you!
I enjoy your bead & chat. It feels like sitting in a bead group, each of us working on our own thing. I enjoy hearing tidbits about your past beading experiences. I have loved beads for a long time. I love to buy beads, and I love to make beads, and I love to make things with beads. I do really like the versatility of polymer clay, and all the things you can do with it, but I think I'd give it up before I gave up the beads. I have quite a collection of beads from the past 28 years, and I couldn't give them up. In fact, I often don't want to use some of my favorite beads because I want to have my beads and use them too. Making something with them is so final. Love all your tutorials. Thank you so much for doing them.
Thank you, Susan!! I love to watch your tutorials and this Craft & Chat was great as well. In fact, I probably liked it better! I think your conversation is what I enjoy most and it was really great to get a more fluid conversation instead of an edited one. Please do whatever makes you happy when you post videos! I certainly want you to continue and I agree that it should be more for enjoyment than 'work', so don't worry about editing, etc. for me! I appreciate that you 'teach' us so much and that you are 'real' in your videos. You make me think that I might actually be able to make something too! I'll get brave enough to give it a try one day!
I love this format. I enjoyed seeing your creative process. I'm new to both worlds thanks to you about a year ago. I enjoy beading and making clay equally. Like you I enjoy beading for relaxation, but really enjoy making clay for the extra creativity it promotes. Thank you so much for all of your great tutorials and your generosity in sharing your gifts.
I love the way you're doing this tutorial which it is but it's instantaneous tutorial so we get your highs and your lows and it's fun to listen to you and watch how you decide what to do and thanks for doing this! I'm thinking if you keep doing them this way you won't have to make as much jewelry or make as many tutorials
My hubby is wondering why I am laughing so much as I watch your chat. (Loving it!) LOL, I understand and appreciate how you struggle. I do the same, but I always remind myself of what a wise creator said, "It's only beads -- it's only clay, don't worry. Don't bead yourself up!" Tough decision, beads or clay. Reluctantly clay, as you can always bead with just beads, though I use a lot of clay in my cabochons and those lovely little flowers. Thank you so much for sharing Susan, and this new idea is wonderful!
YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED YOUR GOAL OF MAKING BEAUTIFUL BEADS AND JEWELRY WITHOUT THE STRESS AND FRUSTRATION !!! GREAT JOB! I FIND YOUR CREATIVITY AND PROSSES TO BE A TRUE PLEASURE AND TEACHER , ESPECIALLY NOT BEING SUCH A PERFECTIONIST, THAT YOU GIVE UP IN THE MIDDLE, OR PROCRASTINATE SO YOU NEVER EVEN START ! THANK YOU SO MUCH ..... GREAT !
Love your craft and chat, and your doll. I have always been a halfhearted crafter, never could find my main interest, crocheting, knitting, silversmithing, I am not an artist by any means. Now at near 82 years and still going strong I am finding a deep interest in the beading and polymer clay. Your videos are the most inspiring and your honesty, I always felt intimidated by others, but I find yours a breath of fresh air. You are blessed and you are a blessing. Thank you,
Susan! I love all your tutorials but I think I love this method best of all. I love hearing your thought process to what you are doing and the tips and tricks you share along the way. However you want to do it and it makes you happy....I will be here and will be quite happy!!
I enjoy all that you bring to us and you ARE a natural teacher. Some of us know how much you put into your lessons, I do.Your so gifted it's a joy to watch your magic. Thanks ♥️💐 Anita in Texas
For me ,I can't imagine everything you have to go through to make a video . I am a beginning beader and when I mess up, I get frustrated and set it down and sometimes it takes me a week to feel like doing it again. And when it comes to some of the designs you make. I think they are worth just as much as a gold pair of earrings or whatever kind of jewelry. Your work is very beautiful and I know how long it takes to do that type of work. So I thank you so much for sharing your talent and ideas with all of us. I started to do polymer clay because of you. It was the acorns that got me. I couldn't wait to try that out. So I hope you keep doing this for a long time. And by the way those earrings are very pretty. 🤗💖
Susan, any time spent with you is special whether its craft and chat or a tutorial. I appreciate your time, talent and hard work! I especially enjoy the introduction with the little Susan doll and her cute outfits. I'm a seamstress so I know how much goes into designing and sewing clothes. Your creations make my heart happy! Thank you!
I'M LOVING THE CRAFT AND CHAT BETTER BUT, I STILL WATCH YOUR TUTORIALS. I LOVE THEM BOTH JUST ONE MORE THAN THE OTHER. I'M STILL GOING TO WATCH YOUR TUTORIALS. I LOVE HOW YOU SHOW US HOW TO FIX OUR MISTAKES. THANK YOU FOR TAKING OUT THE TIME WITH US AND SHOWING US MORE CREATIVE WAYS OF MAKING JEWELRY.
You sound like me, I would die without more fabric! I'm a quilter and it keeps me going. I really enjoy your tutorials. Thanks for all you do. Everything I have watched you make,, they are all beautiful and unique.
Im a fan of this craft and chat thing. I love that you’ve shown us troubleshooting and I’d love to see more of that. Things I struggle with is the thread snapping mid project, how to thread the needle when starting bead embroidery and for a necklace, and I don’t know what to do when I accidentally go down through felt wrong and how to back it out if that’s possible. I’d pay money to sit with you for an hour and pick your brain. You got me into polymer clay and I owe you big time. Thank you for all your hard work. I appreciate it tons.
Susan, I realize how much time and effort go into your videos. I am not much for words so I don’t make many comments but please know how much I enjoy them. I love your style, honesty, and all of your tips and tricks. You are one of a kind and should be super proud of that.
You are looking fabulous Susan; you are wonderful with what you do but you need to make yourself happy. We all love your fabulous work and what you do for us . Please do what you want to do and what you feel you should do. We love you and your work and how you inspire us. Thank you so much.
You are so right about being lonely. I'm profoundly disabled and live alone, so am a bit used to being isolated, but the beer bug has made this worse. It's so nice to sit and visit with you, listen to your thought processes and how you work through things. Thank you so much!
I love watching you work and hearing your reasoning out loud as you work. You have a soothing voice and kindness about you. I have always appreciated your willingness to share. People who don’t craft don’t really understand the time involved. Even when doing similar projects, no two will be perfectly the same. That is the point of handcrafted items. It’s also why people expect things for Walmart prices. They have no concept of the time and love involved.
Love this format !!! So nice to see how you create n you are right... feels like we are sitting at the table together... but I love your tutorials too... many of them I have watched 2 n 3 times... beading is my favorite but the clay work fascinates me... the beautiful beads you make i want to do... maybe this winter I'll get brave n try my hand... Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the work you do... I know there are many out there like me that so appreciate you sharing your knowledge n creativity... until the next video... blessings
I don’t care what format you use. Just keep doing it! I can’t get enough of your color combinations!!!!!! You are insanely talented!!!!!! I adore studying your work and learning more about clay and color and putting it together with beading. Sometimes hard to sleep for dreaming of creating! Thank you for your amazing instruction and inspiration! God bless you!!!!!
I found your videos about a month ago. I love polymer clay and beads. Grannie taught me beading when I was 8 years old. I made bunches of little flowers, with leaves and stems. I progressed from flowers to jewelry by the time I was 13. I sold my wares at school, to classmates and teachers. I've used polymer clay for lots of things other than jewelry. You however, have changed my thoughts on that. I always wondered how to make beautiful beads with polymer clay. Now I know because of your brilliance, and imagination. I know exactly what you are talking about when it comes to buying beads. My family calls me the "beadaphile". I buy beads wherever I see them. And, like you, I have cheap beads all the way to expensive beads. I can't pass up buying beads. I also have a large amount of vintage costume jewelry that I use in my jewelry making. I love that you tell us that it doesn't matter if your techniques aren't the way an expert would do them. It's the end result that counts. I taught art to children for many years, I gave them general instruction and let them loose to create. I told them, "There are no mistakes in art. You are the creator. Just change it a bit to make it what you want." I know this is a long winded comment. I so much appreciate your videos. You have given me new breath to create beauty. Thank you !
Oh Susan I loved this new format because your discovery process is as instructive as the detail of how to accomplish the final product. YOU ARE AN AMAZING TEACHER !!
I love this craft and chat. Pulling the loop of thread into the beads...😉🥰🤩🤩😍😘 SO SMART. What a great Tip!! I missed you. So glad you are back. Thank you for all you give us of yourself. Very grateful.
I've always enjoyed your videos and the chatty ones are even better! All the techniques you used are available to us to review on your other videos. I think this is a great way to supplement your channel with videos you enjoy making. We get new videos, and you have the fun of doing without all the editing! It's a win/win situation. I like it!
I love this format. I bead a lot mostly from patterns. It’s the creative process that I have trouble with. I use to do clay with my mom when it first came on the market. Now that she is gone, I have all her supplies. I need to get back into it. Thanks to you I think I will. So glad I found you!
Hi Susan. I absolutely love your work. I am a retired RN and have had to have ortho surgery. Your tutorials have made me happier and I am trying your projects( one at a time) I wish to thank you so much, and your work on video is likely helping so many people. Blessings to you, and gratitude from so many of us.
Thank you. Your tutorials are so inspiring to watch and listen. They are very relaxing. I am a new Beader. I happened on to the craft before my husband of 45 years passed. We moved from Texas to Oklahoma to be closer to our youngest daughter. Our other daughter lives in California. I have enjoyed all of your tutorials. Keep on Beading.
Those two days you spend on your mini me are so worth it! My young adult daughter always comes in to look at your video intros-the happiness is contagious!
Like many others I love watching your videos and have them running while I am crafting. Your words of encouragement and reminders, " so what if it isn't perfect" inspire me to keep on going and not be afraid to restart something if I don't like the way it is going. If you are getting burnt out on tutorials then please do more of these chat and crafts, or just chats, I'm sure plenty of us will tune in to hear your thoughts and ideas.
I enjoyed this very much. It felt very personal. Clay is my favorite craft, but I love beads too. After 50 years living in Texas, I moved to Alaska last October.
I don't know how I missed this video. You are a natural teacher in beading and in clay. No matter how you make up your videos they are great with lots of hints and how tos. Thanks so much. I know what you mean about Florida internet. I'm in Hollywood and we have the same. By the way, you can never have too many beads. Thanks for the tip on clear beads.
I have been watching your videos for months and I am hooked on learning from you. I do not even watch regular tv any more I would rather watch UA-cam videos at least I learn something new and fun to make. You are such an inspiration to my crafting and I loved how you did this video. Thanks so much for sharing.
Totally loving this craft and chat format. I love clay. I love beads. I love yarn sand thread and fabric and paint and markers and color and...i could go on and on. Watching people talk through their design process is one of my favorite things, so I like this series!
I love to see you create. I have been buying beads for a few years. But I haven't tried to do what you do! Please keep making videos. Whatever kind you like to make I will watch!!
Just try it it's only thread and u can always cut it apart
I too collect and hord beads. I am new to clay and find it very fascinating mixing clay with beads. Beading is my zen. It keeps me calm and collected.
This format was a lot of fun. I'm way too intimidated to do beading lol, but I loved the longer vid and watching you work through your process. Thank you for sharing!
Dont be it's just thread and beads ! If you dont like it cut it up and start over
I can't tell you how many times I have started something and didn't like it and pulled it all apart and started over. It takes a bunch of fails before you find that ah haaa moment sometimes. But play and have fun, you just might surprise yourself.
Susan, if you want to do tutorials this way... it’s fine with me!!! Love those earrings. Just beautiful!
Love this. 💚 So many valid points you made about creating tutorials. Thank you for all the wonderful inspiration. 💚 Take care from Nova Scotia. 🦃🦃🇨🇦
Abu is my fav too !
Ur amazing and we appreciate all that u do! Love ur down to earth attitude and relieve and the stress and judgement we put on ourselves! : ) ur a wonderful loving caring woman! I respect and admire u! Thank u for everything! Cheers to u!
Also Polymer clay and now resin is the only thing that has made me put my clay down for longer than a day lol!
TY , your so kind , I have learned all my yt skills from Google University ! I still can barely figure out my camera but I'm not giving up !
I really enjoyed this format of video from you. I would love more of these. Next time, I'll make a cup of tea!
Get your tea ready for tomorrow
I like this format it was fun 🤗🤗
I too have missed all of the shows that we have here in Australia and we don’t have as many as the States.
I started out as an oil painter me Mom said I was born with the brush in me hand as we have a few painters in our family line. One year Mom took me to the London museums when I was young and we saw a dress worn by Elizabeth I and I fell in love with embroidery work so I set out to teach my self how to embroidery which then led to the use of beads within some of my projects so I have been collecting beads and embroidery threads now for 50 years I am now 57 so I have a great collection then I watched someone make something in polymer clay and just had to have a go and from there I got into beading work as in jewellery making my own beads I loved I could do miniature work with clay 😹😹I now have way to many hobbies and now enough days in the week or hours in the day to spend on them all but when I do I have fun😹😹😹
I love your approach to working with clay you helped me to relax and go with the flow and this has helped me a lot since I first watched your first UA-cam feed 2 years ago 🤗🤗🤗
THANKS!!!
I know it brings me joy!
What a great idea! Love your tutorials but this way I get the best of both worlds. Breaks the loneliness factor. Bless you for doing this. Your work has taught me a hobby and a measure of happiness that is wonderful. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. It was a pleasure to follow along with your creativity!
Love this style makes me feel like I’m setting in your craft room with you
This is the second time I'm viewing this video. I really like this format! I like everything Turtle Soup Beads!!!
I so enjoy your process. Thank you for sharing. I edit to add... BOTH! lol regarding clay and/or beads.
My hubby is wondering why I am laughing so much as I watch your chat. (Loving it!) LOL, I understand and appreciate how you struggle. I do the same, but I always remind myself of what a wise creator said, "It's only beads -- it's only clay, don't worry. Don't bead yourself up!"
Tough decision, beads or clay. Reluctantly clay, as you can always bead with just beads, though I use a lot of clay in my cabochons and those lovely little flowers. Thank you so much for sharing Susan, and this new idea is wonderful!
My dad always called it organized chaos😉
I get that ! It's all my lighting equipment I never planned on
YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED YOUR GOAL OF MAKING BEAUTIFUL BEADS AND JEWELRY WITHOUT THE STRESS AND FRUSTRATION !!!
My heart is so happy to watch
Loved it! Thank you!!!
When you mentioned your dog's ,I laughed so hard. We have just one and I know exactly what you go through. 😁
Thank you!
Press the EASY button! I loved this format because it showcases your creative process!
If you go in the wrong place pull the thread off the needle and unthread it then rethread the needle it's a pain but there is no other way 😫
@@TurtleSoupBeads Thanks for the tip!!
Hi Susan, I like the craft & chat.
Good Idea.🥀
If it wasn't for you I would've given up. Hearing you say it doesn't have to be prefect means everything to me. I so look forward to your videos.
Girl don't worry bout a mess. I'm just grateful you spend time with us
I love watching you work and hearing your reasoning out loud as you work.
Just change it a bit to make it what you want."
I know this is a long winded comment. I so much appreciate your videos. You have given me new breath to create beauty. Thank you !
I greatly appreciate the time you spend to help teach us these things, You give us much inspiration!!! Thank you so much
Oh Susan I loved this new format because your discovery process is as instructive as the detail of how to accomplish the final product.
If you get back into clay it you may feel your Mom she left you a wonderful gift shared memories
Hi Susan. I absolutely love your work. I am a retired RN and have had to have ortho surgery. Your tutorials have made me happier and I am
trying your projects( one at a time) I wish to thank you so much, and your work on video is likely helping so many people.
Blessings to you, and gratitude from so many of us.
Thank you so much Susan. I love your attitude to creating pieces of art. Love having you chatting away like this. You are a star :) x
I love your tutorials. With your Craft and Chat, I'm loving you! What a delight this was. Thank you.
This is a great idea Susan! ❤
I like these style of videos. I like longer, chatty videos in general. Do videos you enjoy, viewers can tell if you’re having fun making content
I enjoyed this very much. It felt very personal. Clay is my favorite craft, but I love beads too. After 50 years living in Texas, I moved to Alaska last October.
I love this idea! I love to see the mistakes and how you work around them! This format is lovely to sit and create to ❤️
I myself love love love craft and chats ...so much more fun and interesting to watch!
The Beading Goddess has done it again. The "loose thread" tip saved me hours of redoing a necklace.
Thank you for giving of yourself as you have and continue to do.I am enjoying this way as well🤗
She is beautiful. I enjoy watching you.
That's beautiful!
Totally loving this craft and chat format. I love clay. I love beads. I love yarn sand thread and fabric and paint and markers and color and...i could go on and on. Im like a Maggie when it comes to colorful or sparkly things. It makes me feel so good to know I'm not alone.
Thank you so much for all the time and energy and creative juices you put in. You inspire me!!
