I like the crochet method because it allows you to pre-part your whole entire head so you don’t have to worry about the parts. That’s what I plan to do.
I love her she teaches you how to do the right method I wasn't twisting the hair first it kept breaking apart and I didn't stretch it but now I see where I was going wrong now im ready to hook my hair up..
I have learned so much with your video.i have 3c hair & would like to know which method is best. Feeding in the extension hair as you braid your hair or braid your hair & then crochet the extension at the root.
I don’t recommend this for an entire head unless you are very familiar with doing hair and how much hair to add so the knot doesn’t show when your hair starts to grow out
@@Melthestylistt Understand I'm growing out a pixie cut. So I think the method would be good for the back. I know that hair proportion is crucial so it don't put tension on my real hair. Thank you!!
Omfg the braid down and crochet through is so damn genius!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! If i wanted to try the style before fully commiting can i do the crochet technique with synthetic hair for a month or two?
I just started following your page. I like the box braid and feeding the braids method. Without locking. Can you show how you prepare the two piece of hair and how you braid it in. Your hands were blocking it. Its the box braid method im talking about.
This is beautiful and thank you. I feel confident enough to do this own my own now after watching this (I’ve watched others but this fills in the blank questions that I had) What is the length of the hair you used?
Love the options! I have soft low density hair - which method of adding in the extension hair have you found looks better at the root on longer low density hair; knotless or crochet thru at the root?
The braid will only be too thick if you add too much hair. Since I’ve done this so many times I can easily measure out how much hair is needed per loc.
This client has low density hair. The only way the natural hair would be thinner is if the person who did your hair used too much hair for the extensions
Can I use step 3 but add it in the middle of the braid ? I plan on cutting them off as my hair grows and don’t want to end up cutting too much of my hair? Or maybe crocheting from the middle of the braid?
So I’m in a bit of a tuff spot and maybe someone can help me out in the comments.I want micros but I have a small bald spot in the front of my head so do you guys think it’s possible to do one of these methods with regular size locs ?? Plz help
Thank you!! I appreciate you not gate keeping the techniques because I’m def not paying anyone my mortgage payment to do my hair! 😭🥳
This the one!!
FACTS !!!

I plan on do this but I know it will take a few days with school and work
You dont know how much this video has blessed me 🙌🏾
Giving away your secrets. I'm here for it. I actually do the 2nd method the most. Great job🎉
I call it being helpful and being the resource I needed when I first started doing this style.
@@Melthestylistt Well it's very much appreciated. Thank you. I wish you much success
So basically just box braids ?
@MiraMincy You just start them off the same way would box braids. But they are twists and it clearly shows that
@@Melthestylisttdoes the twist need to be braid tight or loose?
You put in that work with such precision and perfection.
You did a great job. Thanks for sharing this knowledge with us.
Thank you for sharing! My daughter is finally going to let me loc her hair 🎉 🎉 and this tutorial is a life saver
Thank you so much! Definitely will be playing this back during my DIY install ❤
Please do!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 🧡
Thank you Mrs
I like 2 especially for short hair
Thanks for this I have a question what method you would use for someone with soft fine hair
I love her she teaches you how to do the right method I wasn't twisting the hair first it kept breaking apart and I didn't stretch it but now I see where I was going wrong now im ready to hook my hair up..
I appreciate that! Thank you!

Excellent work. Thank you for sharing. I need to find someone in florida to do this for me. Love it!!
🤎Very beautiful technique I love it all 3 of them. I’m at work and I waited for this video to drop 😂😂
I always wondered if you could do the box braid method to start loc extensions. Thank you!!!
I don’t recommend this for an entire head unless you are very familiar with doing hair and how much hair to add so the knot doesn’t show when your hair starts to grow out

@amelialee100 also, with this method you are prone to more slippage. I explained this in the video of me using that method on short hair
Omfg the braid down and crochet through is so damn genius!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! If i wanted to try the style before fully commiting can i do the crochet technique with synthetic hair for a month or two?
❤❤ love it great for me a beginner

You prepare it and braid it in how you would a box braid.
Do you find that after a couple of reties that the know from the extension is visible? Because the loc is thicker than the new growth?
This is beautiful and thank you. I feel confident enough to do this own my own now after watching this (I’ve watched others but this fills in the blank questions that I had) What is the length of the hair you used?
This was very helpful. Thank you
Your work is amazing....thanks for sharing
Come through tutorial 🙌🏾
Very nice ❤
Thank you so much
Can these same techniques be used for mircoloc braids?
Hi! Great tutorial! Are you also twisting each strand as you twist the two pieces together?
Slightly
You did such an amazing job. How long did these take you?
We split it up into two days
Love the options! I have soft low density hair - which method of adding in the extension hair have you found looks better at the root on longer low density hair; knotless or crochet thru at the root?
I live the style but is there or what is the best method if you want to remove them?
My question is..... is this a permanent loc? Can it be unlocked at any point?
You can comb it out like natural locs
Great!!, please which people sells the pin you used to tight it
Can this be loose or is it permanent lock
Interlocking tool on Amazon. If you interlock the roots it’s intended to be permanent
What hair do you use
Very good job
Nice The gel you are using
Using the method wear you use the crochet hook, are you concerned about the braid being too thick when you retighten it?
The braid will only be too thick if you add too much hair. Since I’ve done this so many times I can easily measure out how much hair is needed per loc.
Do you interlock extensions if you’re thinking of taking out the extension when the natural hair grows enough to be locked on its own?
Yes. You will have to comb the extensions out or cut them
Hello would you do these on someone with low density hair? And if so when it grows out is the natural hair visibly thinner?
This client has low density hair. The only way the natural hair would be thinner is if the person who did your hair used too much hair for the extensions
I’ll be starting mine with 4 inches of hair… I’m thinking the 1st method would work best.. your thoughts!
You can do whatever you want with your hair 🫶🏾
How do you measure the amount of hair to avoid having an obvious difference as the loc grows?
Book a coaching call with me and we will walk through it together.
After using the extension to start the, at what point do you remove the extion?
Whenever you want. It’s your hair.
How long do you recommend waiting before coloring? I’ve heard conflicting information.
You should wait until your hair is fully matured to avoid damage. Which could be 1 year or 2. Rushing to dye or bleach is unnecessary
Thanks for sharing with us but kindly help me on this, after wetting the ywig ,you use it when it is still wet?
I don’t understand your question
Do you interlock the root after you have added the extension or do you wait to interlock at the next retie?
The roots are interlocked at installation
Can those be removed once it is pulled through the braid base?
Yes you can
What is the shortest length hair you could do loc extensions on ?
Where can I find the small interlock tool?
I've been thinking of getting them done, and i'd like to ask if they can be taken off or do i have to cut my hair off?
They can be combed out
Can I use step 3 but add it in the middle of the braid ? I plan on cutting them off as my hair grows and don’t want to end up cutting too much of my hair? Or maybe crocheting from the middle of the braid?
Sure. It’s your hair. There are no rules or a specific way to do do your own hair
@@Melthestylistt that’s true! Tend to get caught up in technicalities of this. Thanks so much
You did a great job! We would love to work with you!
I would love that!! Please let me know what we can do!

I have watched several micro loc extensions and so far everyone is doing a feed in micro braid into a two strand twist.. Is this it?
In this video there are three different ways to install the extensions
Can i allow this hair to loc permanently?
These are permanent extensions
@Melthestylistt how long have you been using this hair.. I love it
What city and state are you located?
An hour away from Houston Tx
Is it ok to style freshly installed microlocks
I’d advise against it simply because a retightening is tight on your scalp and it would be unnecessary tension
can the box braid method be done all around head ?
You can do whatever you want with your hair
Please ma what is the name of cereals you used
Are those permanent??
Yes but you can remove them if you’d like
@@Melthestylistt ok ok thank you so much!
What kind of hair is that?
It is linked in description
Yayyy
what is the name of the braids please?
So I’m in a bit of a tuff spot and maybe someone can help me out in the comments.I want micros but I have a small bald spot in the front of my head so do you guys think it’s possible to do one of these methods with regular size locs ?? Plz help
You can do this with any size.
Where are you located?
The name of the synthetic hair please if you don't mind
I don’t use synthetic hair so I am unable to tell you any brand names of that type of hair.
Can i color these
Yes
Can it be lossen?
What do you mean?
What hair is used
In the title and the description
Starting with three strand will leave an inconsistancy in the loc
If done improperly yes it will. And if you add too much hair then yes it will. However, I am not a beginner so I don’t have that issue.
What do you do if the extensions don’t hold up how do you get them out ?
If you want to take the extensions out, you would simply untwist and comb out the knot
