That second example... is CRAZY 🙂 It's true: f*ck ups and failures are the best you can (constantly) get to improve and learn. Some say: "Failing is not an option"; I always say: "NOT failing is not an option!".
An important lesson I learned was, as much as i hate mixing through headphones, it's good to give your mix a critical listen through headphones occasionally to find phase problems, wild panning sections, and minor problem noises and imperfections in recorded audio. PS: I love how you just casually "went to Abbey Road" to mix. 😂
