+Layson Samson If bungie was still on the series it could have been different story line wise and most defiantly aesthetics... I'm sorry, but the art/design team for 343i is shit compared to Bungie's. Bungie had a more dark/rough/gritty art style. 343i is too organically clean and shiny. Some armors in Halo 5 look good, but not many. And the ones that do look good are original Bungie designs they cleaned up.
Valkain bungie was gonna make the series involving the forerunners and didact. Remember the end of the halo 3 legendary campaign? That mysterious planter was reqium.
+Valkain Did you really think 343i just make up the story as they go? There's a book written by bungie that content everything about halo and it was hand over to 343i.
Guys seriously you need to stop being stupid. 343 IS Bungie and Bungie didn't vive anything, they split up in two "groups" one is still Bungie made of some of the "ex"-Bungie, and the other just got renamed 343 Industries in honor to 343 Guilty Spark, so that they can continue this awesome franchise.
Maybe honor is a strong word, but you know what I mean, and check tour facts dude, they didn't sell anything, that company is made of ex-Bungies too, and was created only to continue the development of this franchise, stop saying shit. My favourite Halo was Halo 3, but the new ones are just differents, same as Halo 2 was to Halo CE and 3 to 2, stop acting like old man saying "it was better in the past"
***** calm yourself dude halo 4 was supposed to be like this it was in microsoft plans since the beginning halo 4 was part of the plot when they started halo. If you can't live with truth then stop playing halo and say things that does sense. BTW i'm not sure that you read the books.
If you did read the books, halo 4 was supposed to be about John meeting up with the remaining Spartan II's, Dr. Halsey, and his teacher Mendez. They were all located on the shield world, which was Chief's final destination. Oh yah, and Ash's Spartan III's, along with Thomas (the older original Spartan III) was there with another girl spartan III. This is from the book: Ghost Of Onyx which had the real story line of halo, and was made before halo 2. Then 343 screwed the story line. Don't argue with me if you don't know your facts.
It is kinda sad that we don't see Flood ever again (or if we will it fucks up the storyline). They were a pain in the ass but it gave a nice story and idea to the game. The Forerunners on Halo 4 suck. I wish I never see them again. Flood on the other hand was an ancient parasite that was the reason Halos were created. So basicly Halos have no purpose now anymore. I liked how Flood was destroyed by firing a Halo but I also wish it would've not happened. Maybe there is a chance of a game that happened before Halo 3 and it could have Flood in it still. Just maybe! And what happened to the missions where you could play as Arbiter and stuff. I loved the idea of 2 main characters. Even 1 level playing as Flood infected would be badass :D I guess I am the only one who thinks so.
Actually in the end of the halo comic (can't remember what actual name) it shows a flood infection form running across the ground of the spirit of fire (the ship from halo wars) and all the crio chambers are open
The flood aren't gone. Only one ring was ever fired during that event which has a maximum range. So somewhere in the galaxy there is most likely some flood.
Fear no more friend i forgot which book it from but i remember a chapter where it talk about a massive ancient flood fleet dormant outside the milkyway
Bro I know how you feel. The Arbiter is my favorite video game idol hands down. I loved being the Arbiter in Halo 3 and 2. Don't give up on Halo. The Arbiter will always be in Halo. In spirit, don't forget that.
the thing is, Bungie developed the halo universe while creating halo CE, so 343 is just following the same story, with better graphics and the ability to sprint.
I honestly think it has the best campaign. It actually connected to the books and had a really nice story, which is a nice change from the massive dump Bungie took all over Fall of Reach with Halo Reach.
I'm pretty sure what nobody understands about this ending is that it in fact is talking about the future of halo games. Bungie wanted to stop making them and do other things (lol destiny) and it was probably always planned to give halo over to microsoft and from there another studio. They made odst and reach really fast to fulfill their contract to microsoft, splitting into two teams to do so and doing prequels because any follow up after this ending would launch them into another series of games as the human covenant war is ended. Hence chief goes back in the cryo tube like we found him in CE, and cortana saying "i'll drop a beacon, but it could be a while before anyone finds us, years even" is referring to the follow up halo 4 (which did take 5 years) and chief saying "wake me when you need me" is referring to the unknown time of when he will be awakened and the story continued. Not to mention the cryptic planet it shows at the end setting the stage for the next game. In summary, this was never a series ending, its just a game ending.
ikr i love halo 4 i thought it had an amazing story i thought the gameplay was awesome i really don,t understand why it gets so much hate i haven,t played 5 so i cant say for sure on that one
I liked Halo 4. Though I agree with the opinion that the Prometheans lack personality. Grunts, Elites, Brutes and Jackals are fun to fight because of their personalities and sounds.
Halo 3 just should've ended after the ceremony, with Master Chief dead and, if they really wanted a sequel, make it about Arbiter. Halo 4 was a fucking mess
@killerdude1908 odst happened just before the events in halo 3, thats why in odst, the space elevator is still up at the beginning, and the covenant had just started digging outside of new mombasa.
@willil3xxx if i remember correctly towards the end of halo 3, (when miranda keyes gets shot by the prophet) the covenant turn on Chief. It was the elites only who worked together with the marines and cheif, cause there also were heretic covenant.
It was most likely changed so the layout of the first level was visually stimulating and practical. Considering his armour changed some how over 4 years of being frozen it wouldn't be impossible he was moved somewhere else in the ship.
And also thank u to the maker of this video for proving all the people that thought master chief was dead wrong i mean if they cared so much about halo and its story line then they should at least beat it on legendary and see if anything is different
The ship was whole as it went through slipspace though broke whilst entering through it, resulting in it being in two parts. The momentum of the engines launching and the blast would of also been able to push the front half through and also result in the back half drifting so far outwards.
@MrHoneyChicken Let me break down Halo 2 for you: 1) Covenant find Earth, exactly what humanity has been fighting to protect for almost 3 decades. Definitely significant and forms the entire basis for ODST. 2) Thel used as a symbol to display the fragility of the Covenant and the alliance with humanity. 3) Introduction of the Gravemind, perhaps the most significant figure in the Halo universe. 4) Discovery that there are 7 Halos and a place where they can all be fired at once. 5) Covenant split.
@360gamer263 Half of the ship made it back to Earth and half of it didn't. Arbiter was in the cockpit (front part of the ship) and that was the part that made it to Earth, the other part where Master Chief was at (the weapon and vehicle dock) didn't make it, unfortunately.
@MaximumRocker30 Arbiter is probably is going to come back and find chief. Arbiter was piloting the front of the ship and I suppose Chief was in the back which broke off. He then arrives in onyx, the planet of the fore runners. The covenant are going to be back and will fight for the weapons of the fore runners. But there may be new creatures on onyx which are the forerunners.
And that's just the game. The novels have done a lot to add substance to some of those mysteries as well as raise new ones which are being interweaved with the Reclaimer Trilogy.
In Halo 3's final Terminal, Mendicant Bias tells John that he's sending him to the Forerunners and will endeavour to make the path ahead safe for him. As the Dawn enters the Portal to return to Earth, Bias redirects it which shears the ship in half - the Arbiter going back to Earth and John & Cortana being redirected to Requiem.
I can so imagine that 20 to 30 years from now, the Halo games, COD games, and Civilizations games will become the Pac-man, Galaga, and Pong of now, when they look back on these times. Can't wait for Halo 4!!
I've read Glasslands and it is really cool and goes in deep into the elite's culture and explores the spartan program. And in my opinion is a good post-war story.
@DominoAFC It's what happend after the covenant escaped mombasa city in Halo 2. Like when in Halo 2 you went to earth cause of the covenant were invading you went to Mombasa and fought them till they left and mastercheif followed them and a group of ODST wer ebeing sent down to Mombasa and then yeah it's like a interlude between Halo 2 and Halo 3. If you play Halo Reach then Halo 1 or the remake then Halo 2, Then Halo ODST then Halo 3 then the story becomes alot clearer on how they all link.
The developers said there are some rouge factions of the covenant who still view the humans as their enemy. Also, they supposedly crash landed on the planet as well. I have always thought the planet at the end of Halo 3 was Onyx, anyone who as read the books could agree with this thought. The planet fits the description, and Halo 3 came out after the book "Halo: Ghosts of Onyx" was published.

Yes... We all know. I'm not saying the location would have changed, but the story going into Halo 5....
No I would have felt the same
+Valkain Did you really think 343i just make up the story as they go? There's a book written by bungie that content everything about halo and it was hand over to 343i.
Now that's I've seen this I am reallyyyy pissed that bungie didn't fucking continue halo and gave it to... 343
Contract was up for them and Microsoft
Guys seriously you need to stop being stupid. 343 IS Bungie and Bungie didn't vive anything, they split up in two "groups" one is still Bungie made of some of the "ex"-Bungie, and the other just got renamed 343 Industries in honor to 343 Guilty Spark, so that they can continue this awesome franchise.
no, it wasn't to honor 343 guilty spark. thats just the name of the company. either way. when bungie sold the game, it turned to shit.
Thibault Parodi Lol
Brandon Baram Can I get a source on that?
Brandon Baram You failed because you think Onyx is the one and only shieldworld. So the facts are against you.
Kingslayer
This is instantly wrong because when Bungie first started developing Halo they did not have a contract with Microsoft.
and then that were halo 4 come in to play :)
It's requiem!
Jeremiah Brand Pretty sure it was originally supposed to be Onyx from the books before 343 came along
Even 1 level playing as Flood infected would be badass :D
I guess I am the only one who thinks so.
Actually in the end of the halo comic (can't remember what actual name) it shows a flood infection form running across the ground of the spirit of fire (the ship from halo wars) and all the crio chambers are open
Also the hale comic is canon and ment to tie in with halo 5
Halo*
The flood aren't gone. Only one ring was ever fired during that event which has a maximum range. So somewhere in the galaxy there is most likely some flood.
Fear no more friend i forgot which book it from but i remember a chapter where it talk about a massive ancient flood fleet dormant outside the milkyway
lol i think there is more than that numbers of dead marines because i killed tooo many of the marines
Same here
OGTreythegamer about 900 dead marine's plus 600 flood marines
Bro I know how you feel. The Arbiter is my favorite video game idol hands down. I loved being the Arbiter in Halo 3 and 2. Don't give up on Halo. The Arbiter will always be in Halo. In spirit, don't forget that.
kinda wish halo ended here
+sporemyass Everyone was their opinions.
+Benjamin Jestel including yourself
+sporemyass me too i wish reach was the last halo
the thing is, Bungie developed the halo universe while creating halo CE, so 343 is just following the same story, with better graphics and the ability to sprint.
Halo 4 is worse than halo trilogy, but it is a good game
I honestly think it has the best campaign. It actually connected to the books and had a really nice story, which is a nice change from the massive dump Bungie took all over Fall of Reach with Halo Reach.
***** Fall of Reach deserves a movie or, even better, a high production TV show.
Ansgar Feicht TV shows are trash. Movie.
Movie.
lordmasterization it deserves a mutha fuckin movie.
In summary, this was never a series ending, its just a game ending.
to dislikers of halos after this one, if you dont like it dont play it ans post negative comments. Stay away if you dont like the game
ikr i love halo 4 i thought it had an amazing story i thought the gameplay was awesome i really don,t understand why it gets so much hate i haven,t played 5 so i cant say for sure on that one
I liked Halo 4. Though I agree with the opinion that the Prometheans lack personality. Grunts, Elites, Brutes and Jackals are fun to fight because of their personalities and sounds.
MeleeGodz how are they suppose to know they dont like it if they never played it stupid ass
I thought Halo 4 and 5 were ok. Not great like Halo 1-Reach but not the worst games i've played.
Lord Jiggywiggy watch it on UA-cam dumbass
Halo 3 just should've ended after the ceremony, with Master Chief dead and, if they really wanted a sequel, make it about Arbiter. Halo 4 was a fucking mess
"How kind of you to say, reclaimer."
So when Bungie made the ending back in 2007 did they already plan MC's arrival at Requiem?
At the very end when Requiem is revealed, the music. Soooo bone-chilling.
Holy crap this video is *1 DECADE OLD*
The planet is revealed. It's Requiem where the diadect's jail was
wow this was a bad ass scene thanks for posting this I myself could not pass legendary mode :P
5 years later and we FINALLY get to continue this! :D
I just realized that there are quite a few similarities between Halo 3's ending and Mass Effect 3's ending...
Well well well
at the time, this was probably the biggest cliffhanger for gamers almost everywhere.
@killerdude1908 odst happened just before the events in halo 3, thats why in odst, the space elevator is still up at the beginning, and the covenant had just started digging outside of new mombasa.
Overview of my childhood:
Halo - elementry school
Halo 2 - middle school
Halo 3 + Reach - highschool
A much better ending to a trilogy than Mass Effect 3.
I'm 27 years old, I've been playing halo since it first came out, and I have never seen how this game truly ended until right now..
Just re-beat the Halo 3 campaign, it was so amazing, just like I remember. Can't wait for 4!!!!!
@willil3xxx if i remember correctly towards the end of halo 3, (when miranda keyes gets shot by the prophet) the covenant turn on Chief. It was the elites only who worked together with the marines and cheif, cause there also were heretic covenant.
Today, exactly 5 years has passed since the video was uploaded.
Great end to halo 3 and awesome way of connecting the end of 3 to the beginning of halo 4 where the chiefs ship slips into requiems gravitational pull
Even til this day, the ending memorial scene with the Arbiter still gets my eyes watery.
Did anyone else come here to see if the planet looks like Requiem?
lol so basically we can say requiem is in halo 3 and halo 3 is 2552 - 2557 good to see Requiem again
WTF !? I don’t remember Requiem being in this AT ALL
That ending gives me chills and now Halo 4 is almost here
It was most likely changed so the layout of the first level was visually stimulating and practical. Considering his armour changed some how over 4 years of being frozen it wouldn't be impossible he was moved somewhere else in the ship.
In the halo 4 teaser trailer, the dawn looks completely different
this guy knows what hes talking about. anyone who disliked his comment isnt a real fan of halo
the entire design of the Forward Unto Dawn magically changed to the new UNSC frigate design
i beat the game on easy the first time i played and i still got the "legendary ending"
@MrHoneyChicken Let me break down Halo 2 for you:
1) Covenant find Earth, exactly what humanity has been fighting to protect for almost 3 decades.
Happy 10th birthday, old friend.
As Halo fired and exploded the portal fell as the frigate went through, so only half made it back to Earth.
I remember beating the game once and the again on Legendary and seeing the ending I was like Halo 4 will come. 4 years later, Halo 4 trailer!
I've read Glasslands and it is really cool and goes in deep into the elite's culture and explores the spartan program. And in my opinion is a good post-war story.
Thank ya! Must've missed that part.
