    Great video. One question - why did you go for a lower heat than speedball recommended? Did you find better results with a lower heat?

      Here’s a project where I added a distressed look to the screen before printing:

    Ps. I purchased your variety recipe guides. I live in New Orleans and am getting orders for Mardi. But I can’t match the gold or purple. Any plans on coming out with new recipes. Specifically a Carnival one😊

      Check out this project I made last year using Speedball’s opaque fabric ink in Emerald, Amethyst, and Gold. I used these ones right out of the jar and it looked great (the plaque inks have a little shimmer, I like that for this project!) instagram.com/reel/Co4w7fEAQyF/?igsh=bmdhcjRxZHFkMmgz

    I’m hooked. But I have a problem. My cured shirts still feel rough and heavier than vinyl. What am I doing wrong

      I’m so glad you are loving screen printing! You only want to go over just enough to get good coverage- if you’re getting thick layers of ink you are probably going over it too many times. Next time, try less (this is where a press is really handy, you can lift the screen up and then set it back down and it will line up in the exact spot so you can print another layer)

    So I’m doing tank tops and the ink is going thru the other side, when I lay it out to dry. Should I dry the ink with a heat gun before taking it off the press??

      If you are printing just a few, you could slide a sheet of parchment paper inside the shirt after you take it off the press before setting it down to dry. You may not want to do that if it is a big run of shirts- in that case the heat gun is a good idea

    What would the settings be for dry fit shirts when curing ink?

      The large jars at the beginning are Speedball’s Fabric Inks: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/speedball-fabric-ink
      The smaller jars that you see later are all of the mixed ink colors from my Ink Recipe Guides: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/ink-recipe-guides/

    Did you press without a Teflon sheet?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  9 місяців тому

      That’s right, no teflon sheet is needed as long as the ink is completely dry. You can always add one if you are worried, but I don’t do that.
