Should YOU Switch to LED? Interior Car Lights to LED Toyota 4Runner

- In this video I test out switching my car's (2019 Toyota 4Runner) interior lights over to LED lights. I'm switching my interior lights to LED on my Toyota 4Runner but this video isn't make and model specific. With that said I did attached the footage of all the change outs at the end of the video so if you have a Toyota 4Runner you can see how to swap interior lights to LED. Overall the interior LED lights made a huge difference in my 4Runner. The color of the interior LED lights is so much better compared to the stock lights and the new interior LED lights are much, much brighter! The biggest difference with the interior LED lights came from the hatch. The hatch interior LED lights are now so bright, they completely light up the trunk and the ground in front of the trunk. Overall this inexpensive mod to your car to do interior LED lights is well worth it!

Switching out interior bulbs to LEDs makes a HUGE difference. Especially great at nighttime.
The tip about using electrical tape worked perfectly! Earned a subscriber and a like. I will definitely be watching more videos
Thanks, man. I just did not know you had to order 2 of the cylinder looking packs. I was short one light, but a simple trip tp Oreilys got me good. Thanks for the instructions
I'm so glad to see someone saying something about the problem with driving with bright interior lights! I feel like everyone else is just, "yeah! It's so bright so it's so much better!" Not thinking about using them while driving. Thanks for the info
thanks for watching! and i did test them tonight while driving and they didn't bother me at all. Granted that was a one time test but so far so good.
You’re not suppose to be using interior lights while driving regardless of the brightness. There’s laws against it depending on your state.
@@warweaponx6629 there's a reason stock interior lights aren't super bright and it's not just cost cutting for the price of LEDs. I've seen so many dingbats put these stark white, bright LEDs in their interiors and you can't even look anywhere near the bulb without it putting a temporary hole in your vision. It's even more stupid on the vanity mirrors. The super brights also delay your night vision when getting into the car and starting up. Warm white is the logical choice here, but not everyone is logical. About the only thing that can and maybe should get the super bright white is the lights under sideview mirrors, which are usually recessed (so they can't inadvertently blind you) and give great ground visibility around the door when entering.
Cool video! I'm in the process to change every light to led in my 2013 hyundai i30. What happens with the fade effect while you unlock the car or something like that. Thanks !
They ard so much brighter I tried most of them but only SMD last long the others especially COB overheat. I read a lot in my car while waiting for my wife when she goes shopping do I use the lights a lot.
What about the glove box light, no one has done it yet
I did it for the brightness but in certain cars 6000k temp leds can make your car look really cheap.
I just installed, but the delay dimmer after door close is not working
I’m sticking around even tho I have a Ford c max, very good video my dude 🤙
really appreciate the kind words! I tried to not be vehicle specific and just show how much LED lights change the vehicle lighting.
Do you have a video of the glove box LED install? That’s the only one I’m having issues with.
I liked the video, great explanation and comparison for before and after, just out of curiosity I had 2 questions if you don't mind the trouble:
1. What are the Wattage differences between the factory bulbs and the LED replacements?
2. What is the purpose of blurring the LP? I've seen people do this before, but it seems odd to me to restrict publicly displayed plates/tags, maybe you switched out the plates since they were blurred in the first half of the video, then you left it visible at the end of the video? seems like I'm missing something...
Bad idea to take the chance of attracting a stalker of some sort. A paranoid schizophrenic with psychopathic features is a very dangerous personality type. Let's say they are .01% of the population. 31000 views * .01 = 3 individuals. Psychopathy, high profile stalking division.
So that I don't over order how many should I order for the links you provided 1 of each that comes with a 10 piece and 2 dome? Just want to make sure I get it right thanks
Also, what about the vanity lights?
I have a 2022 toyota 4 runner limited. What’s the bulb size for the dome and hatch back? Thank you
Do you need to change the fuse? did you had ang issues with burnt LEDs all the time? thank you
Any tips on the dome light I tried and I broke 2 lights and now the original is lose inside just waiting for replacement led festoon to try again
I change my interior lights into LED but its not working do i need to put a higher fuse?
I’m trying to install LED bulb on my dome light but it damn so hard for some reason it’s kind of loose what should I do and when I install it should I close all the doors or disconnect my battery because I wanna get another fuse popped
Great video! I took warm white. Cool is too painful on the eyes, especially if driving at night.
Agree, 4000K is best, still a cool white, but a lot more natural than 6000K
My truck is officially halogen-free. Halogen lights give me the old man vibe.
Dude try using some light so we can see what your doing, 2. Number led replacement your using would be nice so we know which goes to which light.
is the dome/map lights led bulb the same as the 2nd row led bulb?
Not on my Pilot it’s not
Hi I was installing my dome light and boy it’s so hard but I noticed that my doors and Vanity lights won’t turn on anymore does anybody know kind of worried
I been though hell with the dome light broke 2 lights and now the stock one is lose just waiting for replacement how did it work out for you?
@@Nightkingx00 my friend helped me! I did blew a fuse and that coat me $80 dollars I had to take it to Toyota that really sucked but oh well it happens. Good luck
Now that Iv watched a 100 videos I think I should be able to get it in now I hope lol
@@Nightkingx00 please let me know thank you
They don't last long, they will blow out earlier than the standard ones.
🚨
cool temp is hideous i hate even 5000k
maybe for car but certainly not for a house or even outdoor lights
i always go with warm LED's even though they are harder to find
cool temp lights suck and look like ass
very unnatural and the blue spectrum is bad for your eyes
I'm all LED in and around my house and use soft white 2700k wherever I can. I usually hate the daylight LEDs but really like it when it comes to auto for some reason. The 6000k headlights look clear to me and the interior doesn't bother me but I totally understand the hate.
@@BreakItYourself yeah it might not be bad for the car cause you can see better but i am not sure if the temp will get to me
i kight look for warmer ones, my headlight are xenon tho
the xenon headlights were life changing haha
That's why I set the google controls for the heart of the sun.
LEDs are ugly compared to the original bulbs. LED don’t provide warm lights.
I change my interior lights into LED but its not working do i need to put a higher fuse?
