These toy histories are def your strength. Love how this toy history is a great two parter and love that you go into later similair toy lines! Great work buddy!
9:30 in one episode, I recall an aerial shot where it was driving over a pile of rubble... it's like the arc mimicked the capabilities/spring action of tire shocks.
Getting ready for bed. Just put a MASK dvd on to fall asleep watching. "Split Seconds"...hmmm I have no memory of that toy line. I remember seeing the adventure packs in stores and I bought T-BOB amd thought the set sucked.😢 I remember seeing Vortech at KAY-B TOYS in the 90s...but don't recall EVER seeing "Split Seconds" until just now. Nnnnnneat!
MASK was okay for like one year. The toys were okay the figures were to small. I liked the vehicles but that was about it. I didn’t stay long with them. I just ended up trading my mask stuff for other things
Did you know that the Raven and Manta vehicles were name swapped? I don't know if it was intentional or not, but calling an amphibious car 'Manta', and a flying car 'Raven' makes more sense. Also, Vanessa Warfield kept pet Ravens, so clearly her vehicle being named Raven would have been keeping with her character. A similar thing happened with Sideswipe and Sunstreaker from the Transformers line. Their names weren't switched, but their bios were. So Sideswipe was supposed to be the crazy one, and Sunstreaker was meant to be the vain one with rocket boosters (he literally had rocket booster accessories on his shoulders!) And of course, 4-LOM and Zuckuss were infamously mislabled in the Kenner StarWars line.
M. A. S. K. had a good concept- it was quite a good series, but its first season was its best. I like it that in each 1st season show, Matt Trakker picked his agents ala Jim Phelps did in Mission: IMPOSSIBLE. Its too bad that neither Gloria Baker nor Buddy Hawks were seen demonstrating their espionage skills; there should've been at least 2-4 episodes where Gloria took on Vanessa Warfield one-on-one. Gloria's M.A. S. K. Shark seemed inspired by James Bond's Lotus Esprit seen in The Spy Who Loved Me film of 1977. Scott Trakker was also well written. He wasn't a know it all genius, and neither was he getting the team into trouble. Better T-Bob over Snarf/Slimer/Bat Mite any day. Matt Trakker was later the G. I. Joe Advanced Tech Specialist, essentially the closest the Joes have to their version of Tony Stark.
I remember feeling "Betrayed" [Kid Logic] by Kenner when they stopped making Star Wars and came out with M.A.S.K, I felt they should have done Star Wars a bit longer so kids had a chance to complete/continue there collections

Oh totally. We love Brad Turner and the regular car mode is cool. We just had fun hacking on its arch mode 😅
Definitely top 5 of toys of mine. Great vid.
Thx for watching

And now we know... 😎
I always wondered why I kept miscalling Raven and Manta as a kid. Musta been subliminal 😅
