Zero! Between your advice and the advice of Don’s Family Vacations I’ve not lost money on any of the ten things you listed. So keep providing such good advice and keep me out of trouble and losing money! Thanks and keep on dancing!!
Insure My Trip is a great company. 7-8 years ago, my husband and I were getting ready to leave for our cruise in two days. We got a phone call that my Mother in Law died. I notified Insure My Trip and they just needed a short form completed and a copy of the death certificate and we were refunded the cost of the cruise, minus $100 (I believe it was) and I think it was a booking fee. Thank goodness we had insurance.
the only way I lost money is I tried a non alcohol package. that was a waste of money. I was better off buying what I drink. I/we don't waste money while cruising. there are things you have to spend money out of necessity like wifi to keep connected to family, that is priceless!
Parking fees should be on that list. It is atrocious when you have to leave your car at the port parking lot building. $230 for 10 day cruise. I find that very unfair when you are paying the cruise line thousands of dollars. Parking should be included, and if not it should at least be about $5 tops per day. That dance had me cracking up 😂🤣😆. Tony Disco Inferno!
We usually park in off-site parking garages (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa so far) that provides shuttles to and from the cruise ports. Much cheaper and never encountered any problems.
Worse at the airport! I try to find hotels that have included or cheaper parking and a shuttle but sometimes the wait for a shuttle to get you can be long. They have a hard time getting in to the busy cruise terminals.
My number is 3, but sometimes, it's worth it. Last 2 cruises into Port Canaveral, took Carnival shuttle to the airport after the cruise, but the wait in line was 1 1/2 HOURS! I will gladly pay double for an Uber next time
We have always had great service from the Carnival transfers. We have tried some private driving services but when the fee went up and the service went down we said no thanks.
Good tips! I just got back from Carnival and paid $103 for a Lyft ride. Then on the receipt they took a $25 tip, and I handed him $30 in cash. 🤦🏾♀️. I’ve learned today. 😂
We were at a restaurant in Washington DC we bought dinner for my wife and I and 5 other adults (all family) my wife paid the bill .later that night my wife looked at the bill and realized that the tip was already added to the bill so we double tipped! Now we pay more attention to the check!
Hey Tony, I think you should dance on every episode, twice on live casts! Anyways...Some banks will cover both fees depending which account you have with them.. I never pay ATM fees! But im guilty of buying benadryl for $18.95. 18 times the cost of Benadryl at dollar store it was $1 at the time. That was painful 😖
Love the dance break! I was out running errands in chilly, rainy Dallas missing sunshine. Thought about my next cruise and then got tickled from thinking about you showing your shorts and dancing! Yep, everyday now…gonna do a dance break and look forward to my next cruise. Keep moving!
Only 2 for me.1 Buying too many souvenirs, that my luggage was too heavy. 2 renting an electric car. Was a hassle with charging and more expensive. I loved the dance break!! I had to dance along!!
Did I hear that right? Did Tony say riding an ATM? I work for a bank and have never ridden an ATM. I need to check if that’s a free employee perk tomorrow.
We are a Zero Tony but have been cruising for 30 years. We always carry a folding duffel for souvenirs plus bubble wrap. We have double tipped the bartender on purpose but in cash. It gets us good drinks.
My wife and I love this video, we are from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺 and our number is 0 out of 10. My wife and I plan our holiday and study everything before we even go.
My first cruise in 2006, I came home to a $700 cell phone bill. I learned that lesson the hard way. DON’T MAKE MY MISTAKE 😅 Loved the dance break lol 😂
Got a $300 cell bill when I got home one time. Called my carrier...told them that I was old & confused...started talking about cruising (she was a big cruiser) after talking about cruising for about 30 minutes she said "how about we cut the bill in half" I said you got a😅 deal
I might have mentioned this on one of your other videos, but we bought a soda and coffee package on the second day of our cruise. It cost $580 for the remainder of the week!! It was a huge waste of money. On the plus side: I now have the occasional Carmel Macchiato to remind me of our Celebrity cruise to Alaska.
In the summer of 2023 we were on a pretty epic Mediterranean cruise with port stops nearly every day. On about day 4 or 5 in a row of long day excursions, my wife and I looked at each other at breakfast and mutually agreed to blow off that day's adventure. Totally worth it.
Hey Tony… was that the 7 th inning stretch??? I just loved the dance break!! Burst out laughing in the break room. Keep up the great work . I just love your channel.
The only one that we are guilty of is the double tipping, On our first cruise we did exactly what you said, seen the blank line thought it meant for us to tip then I looked closer at the receipt and seen the percentage of gratuity, showed it to my DH. One of the things you may want to mention in your "tips" segments is for people to look at their bills and check them often. We were charged double for drinks but only got the one receipt and only one drink I went to the Kiosk and printed out the bill up to that point then went straight to the CS desk and they took care of it right away.
I loved the dance break. I’m a very frugal minded person so I have to honestly say that I’m not guilty of any of these. I do tip extra frequently on a cruise but it is intentional.
I’m watching from my stateroom on the Queen Anne off the coast of Mexico. A bit late to help but it seems I only violated one of those rule and that was by choice. Rather than flying I decided to take the train as it was more vacation like. For that reason I had to grab an Uber at both ends but it was worth it. The scenery on the train was lovely. I am retired from the airlines and I can tell you that you don’t see sights like that from 35,000 feet. 😁😁
I always forget something and have to overpay at the gift shop. But I'm so glad they have what I need that I don't mind. Tony, I LOVE your attitude toward generosity. 😊
guilty of almost all the items but learning as I go!! Got fooled in the double too since I learned right away to avoid the drink package and buy my own but the tip IS included .
Only guilty of double tip, last cruise went to sushi restaurant, im not a sushi eater but tried any way (wifes son likes sushi). Bill came at the end and there was the tip line and i added a tip even tho i didnt like the food and service was not that great. I have found that the waiters and assistants are great in the mdr. You and jenny and don are great with your wealth of info. Many thanks from canada. Mark.
This was a good list that made me feel like a savvy cruiser. The key is doing what is best for you and being aware while you make your choices. I continuously remove the drink package. I don't drink alcohol. Even the Starbucks drink package would not be needed for me. I have chosen to do private cars on special occasions, but I typically think through all the choices and develop creative solutions. I took a Panama Canal Transit from my coast (West) to Miami. I found it was the least expensive to get a rental car, drive to the San Pedro Port, drop luggage, turn in the car, and walk back to the ship. Enterprise is an easy walking distance. All other options were more expensive. Then I got the transfer on the other end to the airport. I will say that was a bit of a waste because the bus would not start, and we had added a tour b4 the flight. We were taken directly to the airport with no tour and no refund🤨. It was our first time in Miami, too.
Loved the Dance Break! You dance better than I do (I tend to resemble a wounded wombat, it’s really not pretty. Lol!). My number is zero. I expect I might hit 1 or 2 at some point, but it hasn’t happened yet. The open hands analogy was a great way to put it.
Tony, the last time I was on the cruise, I had to search high and low for a luggage not because I bought too much stuff because the airport ripped a gaping hole in my luggage
lol I love that dance break..that just made Me laugh! Thanks Tony!! Thanks for the list too. Very informative!! I’ll be getting my travel insurance for my March cruise. Thanks for the reminder!
I've encountered several people that bought suitcases for all the useless crap they buy. And they don't consider that they now have to pay to check another bag.
A way to avoid needing to buy a new bag: pack a vacuum compression bag (look for one that rolls up to get rid of the air) and don't use it going TO the cruise. Your clothes are dirty coming back, so wrinkles don't matter. Space problem solved. Weight, however may be an issue if you are flying.
I'm at work lmao at this video! I'm so very guilty of the deposit waste. I will book and then change my mind in a minute. And also the souvenirs. I'm pretty good with everything else. But you cracked me up😂
Hi Tony. All great tips. I'm guilty of only 1. The ship's ATM, however I only did that once (lesson learned), now I bring cash for any and all expenses. Inluding getting X amount of dollars in foreign currency in advance of the trip. If needed I'll get money exchanged there. Love the dance moves during your dance break! Shout out Luda. As always thank you for all you do ❤
My last cruise in December, I felt a cold starting to come on, so I went to the Fun Shops and ended up paying $23.+ for a box of DayQuil… Lesson learned, we’re cruising again in February on the Equinox, guarantee I’ll have all that stuff in my carryon when I board.
I think the dance break has just become an essential part of the show!!
It would be great if different tiers were offered in the drink package. Kinda Thirsty, Really Thirsty, or Bring It On.
I dare anyone to not smile during the dance break! Best new idea yet, Tony.
OMG that dance break was amazing. Time to invest in disco ball and strobe lights. 🕺
It really did wake me up
Play the dance break at 1.5X speed. It's awesome.
Loved it! ;)
1 or maybe 2 I’m guilty of
@@magpiesfanOMG did the 1.5x Tripping.
Jazz Hands with a dance break= AWESOMENESS!!
Dance break thank you! I work from home and that was such a good reminder to get up and move! Awesome!!!!!
You crack me up, Tony! Love your practical advice given with humor! Am also loving the Dance Break! 😁
Zero! Between your advice and the advice of Don’s Family Vacations I’ve not lost money on any of the ten things you listed. So keep providing such good advice and keep me out of trouble and losing money! Thanks and keep on dancing!!
I am also a zero. The cruise line almost pays me to cruise. I get the best bargain rate and don't pay for drink packages or ship excursions.
I’ve never ridden an ATM before 😂
I had to rewind to make sure I heard that right 😂
😂😂
If everyone could love life as much as Tony we'd be in a much better place. This dudes world view is literally heaven on earth
❤I loved the Dance Break!🎉 I was right there jamming with you! You are so entertaining! Thank you another great video! 😅
Only guilty of two, BTW - love the Dance Break!!
Enjoyed the dance break !!!
When are you riding an ATM? Do you need a saddle for that? LOL!
Grand Cayman. They are all about the banking.
Beat me to that comment, was wondering the same thing!
@@LaLidoLoca LOL!!!
@@LaLidoLoca YES!
I wanted to check the comments to see if anyone else caught "The riding of ATM" I think I would actually pay money to SEE that excursion LOL
Tony is, by far, the funnest cruise news provider!

The cruise lines don't own the parking areas. The property is owned by local peeps who are making the money.
We usually park in off-site parking garages (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa so far) that provides shuttles to and from the cruise ports. Much cheaper and never encountered any problems.
Double that price here in NYC.
Worse at the airport! I try to find hotels that have included or cheaper parking and a shuttle but sometimes the wait for a shuttle to get you can be long. They have a hard time getting in to the busy cruise terminals.

Lol. It seems like we always overspend on souvenirs. We always carry an extra bag just for them.
Omg i love the dance break!!❤❤❤ please keep it. I smiled and laughed so loud st work. Needed that
❤! The dance break! Perfect for getting extra movement in during that big W L journey!
My appointments next week to talk to the doc about the jab!
My first cruise in 2006, I came home to a $700 cell phone bill. I learned that lesson the hard way. DON’T MAKE MY MISTAKE 😅 Loved the dance break lol 😂

Our # is 1. We do pay more for travel to and from hotel to port and port to airport, just for time and convenience.
Subbed just off the dance break 😂
In the summer of 2023 we were on a pretty epic Mediterranean cruise with port stops nearly every day. On about day 4 or 5 in a row of long day excursions, my wife and I looked at each other at breakfast and mutually agreed to blow off that day's adventure. Totally worth it.

Love dancing along to your dance break. Keep it up, please. It’s good for most of us to get up and dance!❤
You bring a smile to my face !!! Loved the dance time out !!lol😂
I loved the dance break. I’m a very frugal minded person so I have to honestly say that I’m not guilty of any of these. I do tip extra frequently on a cruise but it is intentional.
Great information for new cruisers! Wish we had all this information back in the 90’s, when we first cruised!
Great video ❤❤❤❤
my back hurts watching that dance break.. if only my spine could handle that fun.. but man i need a standing desk!

LOVE the dance break!! Keep this in your show!!
Love love love the dance break!
Great video! Really enjoyed the tips!
Oh my goodness! So helpful and so much fun! Thank you ❤
Good moves Tony! Love the dance break💃🕺
I love your dance breaks and the way you say cruising, we watched you all the time.
Thank you for the dance break. I did some isolations and smoothness of movement while you danced too.
guilty of almost all the items but learning as I go!! Got fooled in the double too since I learned right away to avoid the drink package and buy my own but the tip IS included .

I've hit 4 of them and will always do it !!!!
Long time viewer just wanted to let you know loving the DANCE BREAK 🎉 appreciate tips and the channel
lol I love that dance break..that just made
Me laugh! Thanks Tony!! Thanks for the list too. Very informative!! I’ll be getting my travel insurance for my March cruise. Thanks for the reminder!
Love the dance break Tony! I really enjoyed it and need to get up and move more.
You're rockin' it with those dance moves!
Great info but the dance break was great!!!!!
0 on cruises … wohoo!! Got the “sundry” hit at a resort once though.
The dance break was my favorite part of the show :)
only 1 now since learned so much over the years in cruising. so loved the dance break. best video yet...
Loved Dance Time. I actually joined you! I don’t have travel insurance, but will look into your suggestions prior to a cruise later this year. Cheers
I've encountered several people that bought suitcases for all the useless crap they buy. And they don't consider that they now have to pay to check another bag.

I did the dance break with you. lol. Love this channel

Not to mention they charge the 18 percent fee when you buy in their store as well. I forgot Excedrin one cruise - never again :O
I'm at work lmao at this video! I'm so very guilty of the deposit waste. I will book and then change my mind in a minute. And also the souvenirs. I'm pretty good with everything else. But you cracked me up😂
LOVE the dance break!!!!
Yes on the dance break! Love it!!!
Tony ! I listen when I am in your classroom ! no waste for me :)
I am excited to say, I have never done any of those things. I use a spreadsheet for each cruise so I know where every dollar goes.
Alabama!! Going waaay back with that one! Love it!!
Dancing along with you while brushing my teeth! Loved it! Thanks Tony for all you do! 😊

Love these vids…
Love the dance break!!
Great video Tony. Fortunately, I’ve made one or two of those mistakes, but never again.
