Subbed! I'm a classically trained pianist who wants to start playing jazz, and your videos are definitely helping me get there! P.S. the song at 5:20 is "You're the Inspiration" by Chicago :P
Very good lesson. More to this subject than you first realise. It's worth spending a bit of time studying this one I reckon. I love jazz but you play those Bach Fugues beautifully. Hoping you get the plaque soon! Well said about the equality of the sexes too. great stuff as always.
Muchas Gracias, maestro Tony. Aunque la palabra tonificación, no te guste y a mí tampoco, el tutorial ha sido muy interesante y productivo. Inventemos otra palabra y en paz.
Whatever a whole ball'o'wax is! LOVE your Book Reviews and your attitude: Relaxed, kind, musing. Perhaps this 'tonicize' 2ndary dominant approach is related to cadence? Si? Non?
Thanks Maestro (for the nth time...) for the nth thing that I never approached systematically before but now I will: 5 secondary dominants (I go straight for the 7th...) each key for 12 keys makes 60 chords... which is a joke compared to the pain of studying 1.000.000 Open Voicings.... personally I think that any musician interested in Jazz or in Blues should subscribe to your channel, no matter what their instrument is. BTW: the new photo looks great but isn't it Bill Evans...? 🤔 A great end of Summer to everybody 😊.
@@TonyWinston If you mean the one who replied to all the comments under some of your videos and named himself 'whatapp+1234... etc' displaying your photo... is not a real channel but obviously a scam. He's been already reported to UA-cam and his replies should disappear soon (if they didn't already). And probably his channel will too. He's pestering several channels, always changing his name and always using the original channel's icon: usually tries to lure people by promising gifts and prizes...
Maestro! uah... i m italian, i suscribed long time ago... i like "tonification" and i love your shirt, Awaiana shirt! uah! Keep going with everyway tonification! Great job Maestro, thank you 🐻👍👍👍
Thank you for turning on the light bulb above my head with this topic & for boosting women achievers. Will try my hand at your exercise ... I expect to think faster on my feet when it comes to making live music.
Well its do-able. I would turn people your way, just not sure if it would be their thing.. Yes new word for me too "tonicising". I was reading the sheet with that new word on it and not sure what they meant about the V/V7 and the minor major. Made me think of think of Jimmy Bruno lesson... its not rocket science *^&%$@^ The part I fail to get ATM is "Go up a fifth, spell a major triad for the V of, but a major minor chord for the V7 of"
Subscribed! Looking for an exercise to help me practice and hear secondary dominants and this came up first. Thanks!
Thanks Tony! Hope to make great use of the attached pdf

Thanks for the book tip. It went on my list.
I’d like to be proficient in f# someday as well. Not only my favorite tonic, but also easy access to pentatonic fun!
Esse cara sabe mesmo, que lindo poder aprender com alguém que sabe mesmo
Another great tutorials❤
