    In Australia we have people who can't afford food, they get it from charity, and they are on combined incomes of over $200 000. Why? Because they spend beyond their means.
    They put themselves into so much debt when they buy a house. When they get a loan for a house (oversized and overpriced) they often get a car, furniture and holiday loan with it, massively adding to the cost of the house. They also have like ten+ credit cards, man, the list goes on and on how people with good jobs end up broke, bankrupt and having their mortgage foreclosed. In fact, a lot of people really are working for the bank with the amount of interest they will pay the banks in their lifetime. It's crazy beyond belief how silly some people are in real life when it comes to money.

    I am grateful I meet Ingvar Kamprad a few times. He was such a inspiration and genuine a great person. Every time he meet co-workers at IKEA he always hugged them when he said hi. He told the logistical staff to offer coffee and a sandwich to the truck drivers that delivered gods to the stores. And once we was eating food at a gathering, and he totally decided to sit beside me and the store co-worker instead of the leadership of the store. We small talked about everyday life and he told me that he hated the paper cup that we offered in the bistro since they was not "washable" Also the farm he lived on is a wonderful place which I got to heard a lot of stories about his early life.

    • @aboose-
      @aboose- 24 дні тому +9

      @@duplat666 I don't think you get how money scaling works. There are 219,000 IKEA employees as of 2023. Ingvar lead IKEA for 38 years, between 1976 and 2014. His net worth at death was 58.7B. So if he kept 2B and gave away the other 56.7B, it would be about 6000 dollars a year for his employees. That's 56.7B / 219K employees / 38 years.
      Now you might argue IKEA was smaller earlier on so it would be more for those earlier employees. But at the same time, if he didn't keep his wealth and grow it, it wouldn't have become 56.7B, it would have been less for him to give away as it would be going in employees pockets and not being invested back to be given away. Overall, the argument falls flat. There is no scenario where he could pay his employees "100x more".

      And yet a few days ago I saw a reddit thread with people bitching about the .1% hoarding their wealth and watching the inequality gap grow.
      I bet public relations firms jerk off thinking about the OP above me. You can just mold his opinion so easily. Just literally a pleasant face and frame the negative as a circle jerk. But are these people good for the world? I thought the .0001% hoarding their wealth and watching it accumulate in a bank account was the "enemy"? The poor person spending their paycheck on nonsense is doing more for the economy than an investment banker sitting on a billy who watches the wealth gap grow and grow, yea? You guys sure love the banks and .0001% huh. If these weren't popular "cool" guys, people would be bitching about the old white men.
      IDK. What am I to make of this? The youth today love not thinking any deeper than surface level, and there gets to be so much hypocrisy in their talking points. And is anyone surprised that rich people are rich by holding money?

Thats one of the reasons why IKEA became so great - he would well into his late 80's still go around in various IKEAs and find things to make cheaper, not worse mind you, but cheaper. And never at the expense of the workers. He would look at an item and go "can we not make the screws ourselves?" Then make sure the same screw could be used in as many products as possible. The car was hit in such a way that the rear end broke out 26 rollovers later, the axle was broken, the gearbox and the engine were gone and the body was completely dented.
