I build this dual rail bench power supply to have a second one to test and build some preamplifiers.
Here the links for all parts you need for this project:
    voltmeter ameter display s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DET...
    Linear voltage regulator kit s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DeW...
    10K multuturn pot s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DCW...

    bridge rectifier s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DEV...
    1000uf 35v capacitor s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DlL...
    100uf 16v capacitor s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DlL...
and you need a 150VA dual 24vAC transformer and following my connection diagram you will be able to build one like this!

Nice build. You can adjust the meters to read more accurate by adjusting the V/A Cal presets on the meters.

Yes I did that and how you can see in this video is the closer to accurate possible I come by adjusting those 2 trimpots

Hi by the way I just got a new voltmeter ammeter and I installed and now the reading measurements are more accurate.

Maybe doing a step-up: build a bi-polar (four quadrant) power supply. That would be fun.

And which application will be used?

@@SymbolTech21 there's not much use of it (e.g., testing rechargeable batteries or as an amplifier for a signal generator or an an AC source) and it is not easy to be made, but that's why making it would be fun and great for bragging too, as very few people has one.

@@bsimic29 I have 4 signal function generators then I will keep in mind for this project suggestion and maybe in the future I will build one.

Hi, nice build. I have a question. Can you put the outputs in parallel so you can have more current capabilities?

    • @SymbolTech21
      @SymbolTech21  Місяць тому

Will be not so good to do that because if are not exactly the same voltage maybe sparks can happen. But can do other things to be more powerful is to put in parallel maybe 2 power transistors and that will double the power handling only that definitely will need bigger heatsink as well to dissipate the heat faster in special when using low voltage and high current

Great build. I have a center tap transformer out of a subwoofer that states it has 49v-0-49v outputs. Can I use that to build your design? thanks.

First you need to open the center tap and make it dual 49v and the voltage regulator kits I use on this project they can run max with 24v transformer. So for your transformer if you open the center tap to be dual definitely can go to this project ua-cam.com/video/yaxJYI5ejf0/v-deo.htmlsi=mCi9S1oJ_DQQ7NDY

@@SymbolTech21 thanks for the reply. I tested the transformer. It has a 230v primary (UK mains) and +49v 0v -49v outputs. I'll look at the links. Thanks.
