Pig ugly though. The older MT's were an acquired taste but they still had an element of character to them with the aggressive look. These look like they're trying to dial it back into a bit of beauty with the flowing lines but still keep the aggressive side & made an arse of both. The dealer says they grow on you. Yes, like a tumour.
Wow, the wheel colour is hard to digest. I like the styling a lot more than the previous model and great to see the added electronics. The pricing here in Australia is very high and comparable to the new S1000R. The SP model is $27500 AUD!!!!
I’d be interested in seeing a comparison between this and the Suzuki GSX S1000. I know they’re kind of aimed at different audiences in terms of tech. But what’s your opinion, is the Yamaha worth the extra 2K over the Suzuki in the real world?
It's a tough decision between this and the Ducati Streetfighter V2. What's odd in AUS, the V2 is 1k cheaper, and looks way better. This MT10 will be a hard sell over here due to that. I think Yamaha has it's pricing up the whack. Over here they increased the MT09SP by $800 for no changes, just because they introduced the XSR900. AUS ride away price... MT10 $23,649.00 V2 $22,600 UK price. MT10 £13,300 V2 £15,195 (not even sure that's ride away)
the cp4 engine has real power in the midrange! This is a thing, the ducati can only dream it. the cp4 engine is way better in power delivery than the ducati V2 !
Am I the only one who likes how it looks 😂 with black wheels obv. The head from the robot in “short circuit” on the front is a nice nod to the 80s too 👌🏻 🤖
IMU and a few more horses is good addition. But the looks, I prefer previous model. And I don’t think I’m missing out much on the old MT10. The MT09 though, the upgrades are more tangible.
The old headlights were angular and cool, but that new front end is seriously ugly!! I certainly won’t be buying this version. Might make the older ones go up in value 😂
OK, let me just say, lot of people hated stock MT10 when it came out, I liked the terminator eyes, at least they fit in the area they were put. But GOD DAMN this front end is ugly who tf came up with this? How hard is it to put a somewhat aerodynamic cowl around it just to give it a shape that blends in with the body work??? And then they done the same thing as with the MT09 all the pieces are out of proportion the tank looks fat and square, aero ducts are in weird locations and look funky in a bad way. It's just a design nightmare... I do dig the new colour scheme thought and those wheels are fancy, if only they were more interesting in terms of spoke shape.
