OMG what a dose of Nostalgia. As soon as I heard the theme music I was instantly transported back to being ten years old in 1966 and being in bed in my bedroom and hearing that theme music coming from down stairs..
I used to watch this as a kid. So great to be able to watch an episode again after all these years. I love the theme music. Thanks a million for posting this!
The ITV companies were not that well off and video recording was very expensive. Some of the episodes were probably broadcast live. If an actor fluffed a line, they had to carry on.
Johnny Briggs had to wear platform shoes to make him appear taller. I hope you will upload the Redcap series, including the episode featuring Brian Cox and allegedly, according to Cox himself, David Bowie.
Hi and Christmas Greetings. Just a quick question. At the closing credits the music sounded remarkably similar to the Thunderbirds march is there any connection? Answers on a postcard please. 😊
@@nickyfasey7243 Laurie Johnson would also do The Professionals / The Avengers and The New Avengers. Military March music is somewhat "formulaic" and both composer/arrangers familier with it from WW2 earlier and later. The trick is to write something different from what someone else has done but they would have literally moved in same circles , often with band members gigging with each others orchestras depending on the present pay and avalibility,
I was born in 1968 so never saw many of these wonderful programmes Discovered Sgt Cork last year and it's really hard to get so I really appreciate that you have managed somehow to get so many episodes All in all this is a fantastic mix of so many different gems I am into the black and white shows more They seem more atmospheric to me I am not bothered about Christmas TV at all the great escape has been on 3 times already Bloody Jingle all the way was on in September ffs No all the stuff that is on now were repeats even back in the 70s and 80s The only thing I really like is Raymond Briggs Father Christmas animated masterpiece It's fabulous so down to earth poignant but funny I am now going to enjoy this programme and eat a roast chicken 🍗 sandwich 🥪 I thank you from David East Anglia Coast North Norfolk 👏🎁🎄⛄✨🥂📻🎙️🚨💥
The credits and theme music aren't as good as in the early-'60s episodes that I remember seeing. The end-credits theme was better-orchestrated in those earlier ones.
Brilliant, thank you very much. Maybe please have some more of this detective series.👍👏🥂
Thank you so much - a show from my childhood - the first series that I got an annual given for my Christmas !
Brilliant.....thanks mate.......I was a boy when these were on telly......beautiful childhood and Laurie Johnson's music.......
Glad you enjoyed it

You're very welcome.
Johnny Briggs who played business man Mike Baldwin in Coronation Street. Derek Newark who played the wrestler and tenant Spooner in Rising Damp.
I remember this series from the 60s, I was a young boy, such nostalgia. 😊
236 episodes made....210 missing. Criminal.

I'm not sure
Thunderbirds music composed by Barry Gray, No Hiding Place by Laurie Johnson (who died earlier this year). (Thank you, IMDb😊)

Both composers were from the same era, and were in the military.... It's a British thing.......beautiful and the best.....
