- Complementing the Australian climate, Brighton East 4 is a mid-century inspired home crafted to meet the demands of a young family. Designed and built by InForm, the house takes inspiration from Palm Springs.
Settled into the same-named Melbourne suburb, Brighton East 4 articulates quintessential Australian living. As a mid-century inspired home, the residence has an informal, open-plan layout and natural materiality, including the use of stone and timber.
Architecturally, Brighton East 4 curves, further evidencing its existence as a mid-century inspired home. Present in both the external and internal architecture, curves effortlessly unify the outdoor and indoor aspects of the home, creating fluidity and softness.
Natural materials are a key feature of a mid-century inspired home and are incorporated throughout the project. Behind the staircase sits a feature wall of stack-bond brickwork, whilst the bathroom sees terrazzo used generously. In the kitchen, the island bench sports an elegant stone top, with slatted timber battens at its base.
Showcasing their proficiency in architecture and interiors, InForm craft a comfortable residence with a strong sense of spatial flow. As a mid-century inspired home, Brighton East 4 testifies to its Palm Springs influence through a natural and restrained materiality.

Love this home! Love the interiors of this home! So beautiful! Thanks Local Project! 😎
first few seconds and I already had to stop and appreciate because this house's layout is exactly what my dreams are made of. and the interior design is just *chef's kiss*
My hubby and I have a new drinking game: watching the local project videos and drinking when we hear MATERIALITY. 🤣
modern yet classic. private but inviting. warm and spacious. perfect for the young and old. and the color palette is so clean without looking dull. gorgeousness all around
Everytime The Local Project posts a new video. It instantly inspires my day. Every. Single. Time.
3:45 - Thanks for mentioning the back-end support! It helps me understand how you go from conversations and concept to reality.
I really like that the architect wore all black. Striking against the white. Amazing job. Very bright throughout
Pleysier Perkins has excelled again. Such a beautiful timeless home. Congrats!
i like the outdoor great job
Funny seeing what has been done to my old block. Great build
Simple clean Lines. Minimalistic would be on understatement!
such a well designed house. practical and beautiful. i can see me and my family live there
These guys have done a great job
Clean lines... Beautiful home ♥️
Stunning!
Hope you will this comment. I am absolutely into interior design because of you guys. Good job. Greetings from Senegal
SUPER!!!!!!!!!!
Love it!
There is simplicity in the design but nothing simple - gorgeous curves, skylights, details and very muted but sophisticated colors. I would've loved to see a bit more landscaping - especially against the wall where the master bedroom is situated.
I’m a sucker for neutrals, clean and minimal bathrooms and skylights.
I wish you could design mine too. This is beautiful !!
Beautiful white house.
I want this house. Thankyou for sharing. I just LOVE this house, the Only thing….the garden….i think I saw gums/eucalyptus trees planted?? They would have to go…..the leaves will drive you nuts….and right next to the pool! Also, I think the vanity cabinets in the master bath would have looked better in wood. Would have given a bit more warmth and ‘nature’ to the bathroom making it a bit more serene and ‘spa’ like. The light over the kitchen island is simply stunning!
Vamos
Very clever design ! Stunning indeed! The aussies really are ahead in modern design. 🇨🇦
جميل جدا 🥰
As usual, very nice house and great footage !!! Whose background audio is it? A thousand thanks!
Can you please tell me where I can get those fridge door handles? They look very unique. Thank you.
Happy to be watching this, I'm just at the opening shot.
what is the brand of lights in dining room?
Stunning ! but confined to people with lots of cash only!
Контрастно
The houses are always beautiful, but some of the comments are a distraction. “They did it with a sense of materiality.” C’mon folks. The narration is more gobbledygook than anything.
Architects use the gobbledygook to improve their income potentiality. In the last vid posted the architect owner actually used materials instead of materiality and I almost fell out of my chair. The last time I heard an architect say materials was in 89 or so when Phillip Johnson said they used rich materials to make a simple project more architectural.
Architect speak sounds like they are just BSing.
as an interior designer, we use language to romanticize the vision. [brown or coffee/espresso/java/chocolate] it's all about presentation. just like the videography adds to the experience, language does as well.
@@lizasoliman723 if some called a brown wall chocolate I would become immediately suspicious of grandiosity. You can call it anything you want but marble look tile is still only just clay, "chocolate" is just a haughty word for brown, gold plated anything is just pot iron under it. No one is getting fooled.
How would you word it?
i miss plants in that house
Love this house. Can someone tell me who the designer is for the dining chairs?
Halo chair, SBW.
What I like in this house is it's structure with big sheltered outdoor space and the beautiful kitchen area but other than those aspects this house looks a bit sterile and I'm normally not someone to call modern builds sterile.. there is just no sense of who the people in the house are given that a family lives there and this is not (?) an ad for selling it I find it strange..
I'd love to see "The International Project" with your favorite places not in AU😌
Beautiful house. I want to build something like this in India when i retire, Building something like this seems impossible if you dont own a multimillion dollar business
In Oz, 'North Facing' is what 'South Facing' would be in North America.
Does someone know where I can find similar barstools?
Diiva swivel stool from Grazia and Co.
@@WegnerJacobsen thx
A tennis court just behind the house - that must be disturbing at times.
whats the land size?
What is the price of this house?

The nice north facing elevation comment threw me off, before realising they’re down under.
The humility in this design is so extreme. "Material restraint" proves that there are no excuses for bad design.
Not enough colour if you want to claim the “mid century” tag. The purely white palate does not allow the materials to shine!
I'm sorry, but this house reminds me of the one from the human centipede.😅
😂😂😂😂
Basic project home
Lots of fancy words for a very average house and design. The „all white“ and „neutral palette“ don’t really help.
Its cold, generic and very contrary to what mid century actually was.
It is NOT enough to copy the proportions and the measurements and call it mid century!
Someone finally said it
Could not agree more!
