Didn't realize I would have to clarify this, but here we go. I do not use Adderal recreationally, I am prescribed it by a doctor for my ADD, which I have been very vocal about for years, and I have been taking this medication for years. I was very happy that it allowed me to laser in and focus on work during the days I was sick, even if for a few hours, because otherwise I would have been walking around the house miserable that I was too foggy headed to do anything besides feel sorry for myself because I was sick. As with anything else, when I mention that I am using something, or taking something, etc... I am speaking only for myself and my body, and I am not giving you any advice on what to do for yourself and your body. I only live in my body, so I can only know what works for me and fits in my life. I am prescribed a medication to help me, and it is helping me, and has helped me for almost a decade... didn't think that was a hot take or controversial. Have a great day everyone, and let's keep the focus on Ellen Greenberg, who is the reason we are here today. Thanks.
You shouldn't have to clarify! I've been noticing a lot of jerks in your comments. People need new hobbies. You're fine. I laughed at what you said. I hope you feel better soon! xo
The minute I hear someone giving their alibi on the 911 call instead of just getting to the pertinent medical information, my sketch meter goes to red! Feel better soon, Stephanie!!
When we found my father dead it never even came to my mind to give backstory on myself or what I was doing. It just isn’t relavent when you’re making that type of call.
When he says "oh my goodness", when he is describing her condition, it was with the same tone that I used with my kids when they told me how the imaginary elf living in our house must be the one to have drawn on the walls with crayons.
This is my favorite comment because it's so true. 😂 he's a terrible actor. My 4 year old son is way more convincing about said elf that allegedly drew on the wall 🙄😂
Exactly! He had to have connections. That made absolutely zero sense. I’m screaming at the screen cause I’m so frustrated with the six aloes law enforcement. Clear that Sam and his uncle took that laptop and probably added the searches ob
His silence on the subject is the most damning thing to me. If my fiance committed her suicide 10+ years ago and the entire world accusing me of killing her, I would be volunteering to talk to every news outlet, at least if I was innocent.
@@wadehoyt7707 It was also the way he said it, his tone of voice sounds odd and unconvincing. Kind of like when someone pretends they didn't expect a surprise birthday party or something.
I thought it was weird he said with "she stabbed herself with her knife" immediately putting blame in her and her knife. The hairs stood up on my neck at that point and I thought okay, he did it.
@@mountainmama8932 That's another good point. It sort of reminds me of the way a child would shift the blame to a pet or sibling, only this situation is much more disturbing and serious than that, I think that reminder is an added facet to how disturbing the accusation sounded to me.
Even though we had the internet in 2011, we were still too docile to demand righteousness, but in 2024, we have lost all decorum and we will be going off during this upcoming hearing.
Lack of defense wounds means nothing in this case. If she was attacked from behind and stabbed in the neck and her spinal cord was severed she wouldn't have been able to fight back for the rest of the stab wounds. Which makes perfect sense! She 1,000% did not do this to herself.
If I was on a jury you would have to prove to me that it’s scientifically possible to stab yourself in the back of the neck or to even stab yourself 20 times. I think her spinal cord was severed, that’s my hunch, but the blitz attack theory is also possible. Maybe she didn’t want to hurt her fiancé! I just don’t think it means it’s automatically suicide because there are no defensive wounds.
She fell on a knife? That’s like in the play Chicago, “He ran into my knife 10 times!” This guy knows exactly what happened. I hope Ellen’s family gets the answers they deserve.
@@KT27RN Right! How convenient! Then she fell on it another 19 times! Ruling her death a suicide is truly unbelievable. And if I remember correctly, the fiance went on to marry someone else within like a year of Ellen being murdered. I hope justice comes for him when he least expects it!
I really feel for Ellen and her poor parents. They look destroyed over this and I really hope that they all receive justice. Ellen looks like a teacher who’s kids love her and had such a spark, the ones you remember forever. It’s so sad she couldn’t live a full beautiful life
Right! Leaving a woman alone in an apartment, coming back to find her stabbed, one would automatically make the assumption that she stabbed "herself"? Very bizarre
YES EXACTLY!! If someone came across a person with a knife sticking out of their chest, they would most likely say something like “she was stabbed!” And not automatically assume it was self inflicted
It scares me as a person who struggles with anxiety that if something nefarious happened to me, it wouldn’t be taken seriously. I would immediately ruled “suicidal”. What a shame. Most of us with anxiety are working hard to LIVE and thrive! I surely hope Ellen will receive justice one day. 🙏🏻
Me too it's terrifying. I live in Australia however our police and investigations work much the same and many in authority have very outdated views and policies on mental illness and associated issues. I struggle with ptsd, anxiety and depression personally however I am in no way suicidal
This case always makes me think of the case of the poor Australian woman who was killed by “drunkenly shoving herself” down a trash chute to the compactor and the Bardstown Kentucky woman who “shot herself” using her non-dominant hand multiple time wither boyfriend’s service gun in his home right after she dumped him at a concert.
indeed, apparently it's an epidemic women dying suddenly of suicide in precarious situations. and the police_force all so willing to support their male counterpart in these cases.
"Oh dont worry. Somebodys coming." I could feel the "to arrest your dumbass" she added inside her head. It's a damn shame she didn't get to decide to arrest him or not.
I think that when a case is botched this bad someone (several people) needs to answer for this. The uncle should absolutely have to answer for taking her belongings. She did not stab herself with a steak knife 20 times! No.
Especially when she damaged her spinal cord, supposedly. It makes no sense. Sounds like people who are politically connected trying to get away with murder. That is the problem with people who think they can live with different rules than everyone else. I feel so bad for this poor girl's family because I am sure it is harder for them to get answers when people like this have people who will cover for them. It makes me sick how some people think they deserve to be treated like they are above the law.
When some one dies where are you going to find the numbers and addresses of family members to notify of their passing ? 🤔 In their laptops ? social media accounts? cell phone contacts? Most likely unless your 50 and up pretty much . Where are you going to gather pictures from for the funeral? In their electronics.?
But, that did not give unrelated individual to TAKE those devices!! Only police, who should have had them, or family should be taking her personal and work property!!
Stabbed herself 20 times in the back of the head, neck, stomach, and chest. Severing her spinal cord midway through. This case is SO OUTRAGEOUS, I am THRILLED to see it finally getting mainstream attention. I haven't seen ep 2 yet but Stephanie has left out a LOT including the evidence of major cleanup, specifically by sam, and also evidence the door was broken from the inside. Sigh.
Right!? I get that it might be "physically possible" to do that to yourself, but I'd like to be provided ONE REAL-LIFE EXAMPLE of someone actually ending their lives in that manner that is 100% known to be a suicide. Of all the ways.... And so many times!? Maybe ONCE if you think the back of the neck will end you quicker and less painfully than cutting your own throat but, who thinks like that? It's just insane.
How could someone even physically stab themself in the back of the head from so many angles in the first place? The handling of this case was absolutely outrageous and absurd. Thank you for calling attention to this atrocity. Signed the petition and hoping for justice, to include an outside agency reopening the case. Since the ones who "handled" it have proven they're incapable of doing their jobs.
So like, she built a block of ice with a knife sticking out of it. And she just headbanged on the ice. Then the ice melted and she slipped on the water stabbing her chest on it.
This case is absolutely maddening. The fact that suicide was even *considered* with those injuries is ridiculous, let alone actually assigning that as the cause of death.
@@StephanieHarlowe Idk if I would've been able to stop myself from replying,"It seems like yall are having trouble staying focused on ELLEN RAE GREENBERG & how SHE WAS OBVIOUSLY MURDERED!! 🤯 🤔 Maybe yall should talk to ur dr to see if u need meds for that & which 1 is best for u, LIKE I DID. If u do, hopefully they'll work well for u, LIKE MINE DO!" I can be a petty queen, lmao! LYSM!!!🥰💖
Stephanie Harlowe...I'm not sure if anyone has already had this thought but if he went to the gym and came back sooner than he said he could have done it before even going to the concierge. Maybe he never went to the gym in the first place. They had a fight and somehow he ended up outside the front door. She tried locking him out but he forced the door back open before she had the safety latch 100% closed. Maybe this is why only a little bit of damage was done. Then he followed her or backed her into the kitchen where she was making a fruit salad. She went back to her salade making and ignore him. That's where he began attacking her in his rage. Maybe the messages he texted were sent when he realized he was locked out after he got back from the gym. Maybe she decided to let him in but he forced his way in before the lock was fully open and began to attacked. So he used the texts as the beginning of his cover story. Has it been established he really went to the gym? I know he wasn't really dressed for a workout. And neighbors heard something that may have actually been the attack. No one actually witnessed when he claimed he busted down the door. He may have gone to the concierge after he attacked her also as a part of establishing a cover story. Didn't he try saying the concierge saw him bust down the door? He may already have spoken to his father and lawyer uncle at that point and was instructed to create this story. Which may have been why the uncle took the computers and phone. It seems to me lawyer uncle may actually have enough power and friends in high places to orchestrate cover thing up for his nephew...
My husband had to bust into an interior door. Without a swing lock, literally just the handle locked. It broke the entire side of the door, ripped the frame off. I don't believe he knocked that door down.
I agree!! One time my bests friends brother fell sleep in the bathroom tub and her parents broke down the door. Just the handle was locked and there was more damage than this swing door had
My door got jammed with my dogs got stuck in my room & I was alone. I had to bust my bedroom door down and this was an inside door. And the entire frame busted & entire door was damaged so I agree with u! This is extra suspish
Even before I learned that he did it, the fact that he got SO angry when he came home and the door was locked was the first red flag. My partner would just assume that I was in the shower and couldn’t hear him and would busy himself with trying to jimmy open a window, or would get worried that I’m hurt and can’t get to the door. He wouldn’t start sending me angry texts, like what??
Really that a red flag 🚩 my kids closed my door and both was in the room and they rhythm other one would open I got psst so that makes me a killer it pathetic I got mad knocked hard so I’m killer because I got mad u sound dum
Feel like it should go without saying but if I’m ever found with 20+ stab wounds including to the back of my neck, please note it was NOT suicide. 😳 This poor, beautiful, bright, kind woman deserves justice. Any even close to reasonable person can see this was not suicide.
It is absolutely ludicrous to me that anyone could look at this scene and declare it a suicide. There HAS to be corruption somewhere along the line of authority.
@@mafiatehippah Well, if the door really had been locked form the inside, that's something. But why would they ever just take someone's word for it that it was locked from the inside? If they didn't arrive to a door locked from the inside and her dead on the floor behind it, then why assume that was ever the situation? Even if it was, surely there are ways to do that? I've had a bedroom door and a bathroom door get locked from the inside with no one in the room before. How hard would it be to lock the door and go out a window (if there is a fire escape or rope or it's not too high up)? Ugh, anyone with a brain can see this was not suicide!
Andrea B I was wondering the same thing. What if he simply told them I was locked from the inside. Especially since nobody saw for themselves there’s no real proof that it was actually locked. Sam entered the apartment alone if he actually even left that is. He definitely killed her for sure.
@@Andreamom001 I understand that type of latch can be secured with a loop of string pulled at the right time as the door is closed. Also there were no defensive wounds on her, however he is big enough to have held her hands while he stabbed her. The reasonable doubts are gigantic in this case.
Also, who says 'oh, she stabbed herself!'.. instead of 'she was stabbed!'? Usually someone would assume they were attacked and stabbed by someone else, not jump to the conclusion that they committed suicide by stabbing themselves.
I thought the same thing! Right away hes like she stabbed herself, then he tried to change it up like maybe she fell on the knife...yeah first thing anyone would think, who tf did this!
Can we talk about how long it took him to get around to the “emergency” part of the 911 call? “911, what’s your emergency?” “Well, I had a little trouble sleeping last night, so I hit snooze twice when my alarm went off. I took…kind of a long shower…a little longer than I usually take. Anyway, I walked from my apartment to the parking garage, got into my 2019 Acura, and I drove to work. The weather was a shitty, so we all left a little early to avoid the storm. When I got home, I had a little pent up energy. Does that happen to you when a snow storm is approaching? Maybe it’s just me…but something about a big winter storm just energizes me. It’s like my skin is vibrating. So, I decided to put that energy to good use and squeeze in a workout at the gym located in my apartment building. I wore boots because I’m a pretentious cum bubble. I focused on my calves & thighs, then I did a full cardio circuit, and I ended with a cool down on the treadmill - starting at a medium pace, around 6/7 & an incline of 4…then I systematically reduced the speed & incline every 15 minutes for 3 miles. I pushed myself super hard today, but if you’re not crushing goals with everything you do, then why even bother? I was sweating so much that my balls were floating, and I’m also one of those douchebags who doesn’t wipe the machines down after I use them. The building gym doesn’t have a locker room, so I decided to head home to take a nice, long, hot, shower…that’s when I got into the elevator, took it to the 9th floor, got out, turned right, & walked 42 feet to my door. But the door was fucking locked from the inside and my fiancé, who was supposed to be there, alone, was being a bitch & wouldn’t open it. I pounded on it, I texted her, I called her, I threatened her, even the neighbor’s could hear me, but she still wouldn’t open it OR even respond to me at all. So I went back downstairs in the elevator to ask the doorman to just let me in. But he’s a dick & wouldn’t open it for me. So I just used my perfectly toned, massive leg muscles to kick the goddamned door in, myself!! Crazy, right?!?? Oh, and my fiancé is bleeding on the floor. She’s probably dead.” SERIOUSLY?!?!?! When you call 911, you START with why you need EMT’s so that they’ll dispatch them as fast as possible, fully stocked with the supplies they need for your specific emergency, and an understanding of what they’re walking into. Everything he started with was irrelevant. I find it hard to believe that anyone who isn’t more focused on developing a believable alibi than saving the life of the person they love, would start off that way.
😂 Well said! Loved that 👏👏👏 (you forgot to mention the ninja skills he and Ellen shared: he kicked in the door... erm.... WITHOUT kicking it in; and Ellen? Well. Ellen stabbed herself in the back of the head, and back of her neck. Ninja.🙄)
@@TheStar798 - Damn it! You’re right! After I wrote the thing about kicking the door in, I forgot to mention that he didn’t actually kick the door in…and how the lock should have caused a ton of damage, but magically didn’t. Seriously though, how can anyone believe that a woman could be cutting fruit to eat one minute, and somehow stabbing herself 10 times in the back, brain, and spinal cord…then, for added measure, 10 more times in her torso & heart? It simply doesn’t make sense. I’m genuinely baffled by how this case played out. And I don’t think it was because this douche is just THAT important. I think the police obviously fucked the whole thing up from the start, and everything that happened after that was designed to protect them & the department. When I was in law school, one of my professors said “the police have a job to do, it’s to solve cases. Their job isn’t to protect you, or me, or the client.” The years since then have proven that statement unequivocally correct, and more profound than I care to know.
I’m glad I took the time to read this 😆👏🏻 Horrendous 911 call. The surprise, “Oh oh oh! There’s a knife! 😮 In her HEART! 😲”, was the best part. This young woman needs justice.
She was murdered by her fiancee. He was protected ( and is still protected) by his uncle, and Governor Josh Shapiro. The murderer is living happily in NYC with a wife and 2 daughters. It’s absolutely disgusting. And if Josh Shapiro is chosen as a VP nominee… there will be lots of noise about this.
Yea, that 911 operator had his number. You have to assume she has experience listening to people reporting emergencies and she knew what he was saying was BS.
Anytime, ANYTIME, I hear about “and the victim was engaged/married” I’m like oh god here we go And the saddest part is, so many times, it IS the partner.
The 911 call is so telling. He’s creating an alibi “I was at the gym & the door was locked”. Obviously he sounds so fake “surprised” and upset. I can’t believe he’s gotten away w this for so long.
Right? And door locked and latched are different. I've broken my own chain latch by walking in when my ex was home and he latched it instinctually. I didnt even have to try. I just pushed it like usual and my entire door frame came off.
Exactly 💯. She was completely adorable and seemed well intentioned. I can relate to a.d.d. on board (mild-ish) & know that with education, insight, therapy & medicine, successful treatment is possible - improving the overall quality of life. In stark contrast, he came off as a murderous ogre. He was absolutely bottom of the barrel, lowest form of life. A true mystery that she ended up with such a horrible "man."
When he said, “Oh my gosh she stabbed herself!” it sounded like he was opening a gift on Christmas morning and was excited about what he got. Def a normal reaction to a fiancé that’s been STABBED.
I've never been through such trauma, luckily, but I did get a scare one night when my fiancé had sleep-walked and tripped - the sound woke me and I proceeded to check him all over for injuries while he sleepily tried to reassure me. I panicked and nearly called 911. I can't imagine being so relaxed and odd if I thought my partner was seriously hurt.
Call me crazy, but I don't think stabbing yourself 20+ times can be considered a 'painfree way to die'. I hate that this happened to this brilliant, beautiful young woman. Justice for Ellen ! Stéphanie, you did an outstanding job, as per usual. Thank you
@@StephanieHarlowe EXACTLY. And, I was also referring to the Google search history that mysteriously apparead on Ellen's computer. In my humble opinion, any way you slice this crazy pie, you end up with the same result : a highly improbable manner of death and an unconvincing boyfriend who's also a very bad actor. Her poor parents, family, friends, and those kids she taught who all loved her so much. All my thoughts are with them.
@@StephanieHarlowe He walked up on her while she was chopping. Stabbed her in the back of the head. One of them Paralyzed her and then he would have spun her around, continuing to stab her. As someone else pointed out and i noticed he said she was stabbed in the heart. Not the chest. The incel in this guy is beyond nuclear. I would say he was abusing her and it was that causing the Anxiety.
I’m calling it now, it’s absolutely the boyfriend! I noticed a red flag, which was his controlling behavior towards her. How she always had to seek his approval before doing something. Excellent explanation of the case.
Timberlands to the gym? And only for less than an hour? No way. Nope. Also him asking the security guard to “ help him” -- no sir, you want a witness. I’ve been following this case for years and it’s disgusting that they’re putting her family through this still.
He left because he was cleaning up and dumping the bloody towels. There was smeared blood showing evidence of a cleanup. He was wearing boots because he was walking thru a storm to dumpsters. Also, livor mortis showed her body was moved and repositioned after death.
I’m back because I was recently cooking and accidentally stabbed myself in the hand, the knife went in about 2cm, I looked down and saw blood literally bubbling, I almost passed out, this was by accident I repeat. There is no way she stabbed her self as many times as they claim and as deep as the Stab wounds were. You’d pass out from the pain. You can’t physically do that to yourself. Another person for sure because they’re not feeling it but even that 2cm, was awful. I could go on but you get it
I can’t ignore that he states she stabbed herself. Upon finding a loved one in such a scene, it wouldn’t occur to me that someone could do this to themselves. I’ve been in many emergency situations with loved ones and strangers and this is not right to me.
Yeah especially after he called 911 before he checked on her. If you walk in on your fiance bloodied on the floor you're gunna run over and see what happened you're not just gunna whip out your phone and call 911 (unless you already know what happened cuz you fucking did it)
They had split earlier in the day and she'd made him leave...she called off the engagement and was done with him *which is why the ring was not on her hand*.... he didn't like that. He was aggressive and controlling and that was his house too, so when she wouldn't let him back in the apartment after he'd given her time to "cool down" (so he could manipulate her, which he'd been doing for years) ... he came back he kicked the door down and attacked and MURDERED her... that's why the door was kicked in. Anyone who believes any different is just as fucked up as he is.
How do you explain all the texts and his movements to get in? I thought it was believed he killed her before going out and latched the door from the outside? I don’t know if that’s possible.
The oranges and blueberries are what sealed it for me. Sorry, folks with dark thoughts are not just in the middle of peeling an orange and washing blueberries and then suddenly become gripped with a need to cross over by stabbing themselves in the neck.
I definitely agree. I lost my mother at a young age and have dealt with anxiety and depression throughout my entire teenage years. There have been times I was so severely depressed, with suicidal thoughts, that I could not bring myself to do anything. I'd go days without showering, eating, cleaning. I've even lost jobs due to literally not having the energy to go anywhere or do anything. This whole case screams murder. There's no way she did this to herself with all that she had going on. From the fruit, to putting gas in her tank on the way home, the fact she even got up that morning and went to work. And I mean, c'mon, stabbing yourself in the back of your head and neck. As I've said I've had suicidal thoughts. I've picked up a knife before and my first thought was to stab myself in the chest or slit my wrists. Even then I could not bring myself to doing it. (Thank God! I have gotten a lot of help and a really huge support system. I know I have a purpose in this world and hope to never experience these kinds of feelings again.) Just wanted to give some incite from a person who has had those kinds of thoughts.
I completely disagree. As someone who has struggled with suicidal ideation my entire life, the urge can hit at any time. I have been in the middle of doing dishes and just got this random, intense flash of "I can't do this anymore." I've had it hit when I've been actively planning for an upcoming event I was excited about. If it's a constant, chronic, intrusive thought, it can hit at literally any time, even in the middle of something fun. People with that kind of issue spend so much energy just trying to keep their heads above water and keep functioning and presenting a happy face, but the stupidest things (or nothing at all) can trigger it with no warning. Not that I think that's what happened in this case, I just hate when people try to use that argument as evidence.
@@pballen9745 agreed. You're having a great day but when too much has been accumulating, the slightest thing can push you over the edge. It could be as bening as one of those blueberries rolling on the floor and you hitting your head trying to catch it. BUT i still can't see someone stab themselves in the back of the neck though.
That they found that PART OF HER SPINAL CORD WAS SEVERED, and wouldn't have been able to make the final stab to her chest (that she supposedly zipped her shirt up over?!?) and STILL they won't reopen the case, is beyond mind boggling, and infuriating. Also, there was a blood streak going the wrong way on her face, showing she was in a different position for a while.
As someone from Philly, it's always so embarrassing to realize just how bad this case was botched. Ellie deserved so much better. There's so much nepotism here. So much.
@@quartxxiv767 You would be 100% correct. LE in PA (specifically Philly) are dirty as hell. They are to busy going to brothels getting services or collecting their monthly percentage from the owners. Most girls used to hide when LE came in because they feared LE would see them walking and r@pe them. When the Chief of Police got on the news after arresting the Asian girls that were held against their will & forced to provide services, he stated that in 30 years of being in LE he never knew there were massage parlors/brothels in his city.🙄 They took the security system which would of shown LE going in weekly. I wish the media would of filed a FOIA request for that footage. I bet they destroyed it. The Asian parlors were opened back up the next day. The girls were arrested but NOT the madame. Makes me sick.
"Oh, she stabbed herself?" The doubt and realization in the operators voice says it all. Also.. the audacity he had to CHUCKLE at her asking if the knife is still in Ellen? Wtf???
I know what an absolute weirdo who the hell would laugh in a situation like that.Your fiance is lying stabbed to death the last thing on your mind would be to joke about it .this case is just utterly shocking 🤯
he described his alibi to emergency services before even saying what was wrong with her fiancée, laughed while on the phone with them, called his lawyer over BEFORE 911, and didn’t wanna give her cpr. this whole case is sickening
A long time ago I think I watched a video about this case and I suppose that the fioncee Sam was working in a big tv channel or am I wrong? I hope we can get justice for Ellen and her family. That can't be suicide!
So.....bc I have diagnosed depression & anxiety & take meds for both, if I'm found w 20 stab wounds & knives sticking out of me, they're gonna say I did it myself?! This is literally unbelievable!!!!
The way he said on the 911 call "Oh my god! She stabbed herself! There's a knife sticking out of her heart!" is the same tone of voice I would use to say "Oh my god! Look! There's a butterfly on your arm!" I'm actually baffled. RIP Ellen... May you get your justice one day, sweet lady. She had such a promising life ahead of her. So sad.
I also think that if Ellie seriously wanted to take her own life, she would have done it in a less violent way such as an overdose, like you said. In this case, Ellie had access to both Klonopin and Ambien, and these drugs are so strong/toxic that they are often used in suicides anyway. If she wanted to take her life, she had a painless way - she wouldn’t have resorted to playing acrobat to stab herself.
I've read in several articles through the years that statistically women choose less messy and least violent ways to self end. And how in the heck is anyone going to repeatedly stab themselves in the back of their head and neck? It is nearly impossible!!
I immediately thought exactly the same.. I was like wtf..? What kind of man is this, what kind of relationship are they in? So aggressive, so offensive... Huge red flag right at the very beginning...
That bothered me too! It was so aggressive and to think he knew that was going to be looked at by police and everyone and still felt comfortable sending those. Unbelievable
I feel like her anxiety could have been fueled by the fiance abusing her, ( bruises found on her body ), and for some reason not wanting to talk to anyone about it.
‘for some reason’ I didn’t know her, but as someone who was in an abusive relationship for 11 years, it’s embarrassing to tell other people what’s going on, you think they’ll change, especially if they’re telling you they will change, if they DO change for a short period of time, you know they can. They can make you feel responsible for their abuse, if only you didn’t do this or that, they wouldn’t freak out, once stress from an outside source gets better, they won’t take it out on you anymore. It really goes without saying, but it’s really difficult to get out of abusive relationship EVEN IF you realize how wrong it is. Even when you realize you don’t deserve it.
Absolutely! Especially if it started after they were already planning a wedding. Job stress could have been due to a general lack on focus due to dreading to go home, mulling over their most recent fight, stress of keeping up the act, etc
The coroner should have his license taken away for letting the police pressure him into changing his ruling! Just one of the many people that need severe punishment in this case!
Steph.....🤦🏻♀️I'm 75.... I almost get giddy when I see a new upload. You work so hard. And it looks like SO many people appreciate you and Mr Derrick.....🖐🏻☺️
Gabby Petito described her abusive situation as "anxiety" and "He stresses me out". If a person suggests moving back home and the person is engaged and living with their fiance, it's pretty obvious that it's their way of saying they aren't bringing the fiance so it's probably over. Even the botched evidence is still excellent evidence. Clearly the fiance's level of anger over being locked out of the apt and him lying about someone being there when he broke down the door lines up with a person stabbing someone 20x.
I agreed with what you were saying up until what you said about the door. Do you think he was actually locked out? And then what...? Became angry about it?
@@brischarrer A part of me doesn't think he was ever locked out at all and there is no evidence that he was other than weird damage to the door, the text, and his own testimony. It could be part of his alibi. If he was indeed locked out, Ellen could've done it for her own safety having a fight prior to him going to the gym and locking it while he was gone and then ignoring his calls. After awhile, she could've been in the process of opening the door for him and when she had it partially opened, he could've tried to angrily force himself in and caused damage that way. It is a tricky aspect of it, but this isn't the first case like it that I have heard. What do you think may have happened?
At first I thought the door was never really locked, he attacked her, cleaned up, went to the gym, knew the security guy couldn't help him and started working on an alibi and came back ready to attempt to give the performance of his life. That includes sending the texts in a manner he would "typically" react to something like that- clearly the neighbors were not alarmed with his behavior with makes me think him yelling was "normal", so it's not far fetched to think him saying something like "you better have a good excuse", to silence beyond a lock door, (knowing she had been dealing with anxiety and was seeking treatment for it) in his mind, was normal. However: your point about maybe she had locked the door, and was in the process of opening it when he forced it open, could make more sense, as I actually sensed adrenaline in his 911 call, and perhaps she walked back toward the counter where her snack was when he grabbed the knife she had been using and attacked her in a blind rage - how dare she lock him out? And it sounds like he wasn't covered in blood, perhaps that's when he changed his clothes and shoes, left to dispose of them, then visited the security guy to start improvising an alibi. He knew the door lock was messed up and the neighbors had to have heard the commotion, so he had to think fast. He didn't want anyone to think she had been attacked. That was clear.
So, anytime I hear a911 call and the person who finds the victim starts giving backstory, I know I'm listening to lies. If you find a loved one covered in blood or whatever you don't start monologuing and detailing your day. 🙄
I just replied to another comment with this but it applies here too, you're spot on! When people are put on the spot and they start lying, they tend to go into more detail than if they were telling the truth. We all do this to some degree, obviously without realising. There's a lot of really interesting research into it. People with nothing to hide generally want to get the problem solved as quickly as possible, whereas a guilty person will begin to lay the ground work on an excuse or an explanation. Sometimes it's things like a guilty person saying "I couldn't have done that, I was here at this time" or "I would never, you know I wouldn't do that," followed by an appeal to their character, when an innocent person would just say "no, obviously I didn't." Other times, like when someone's being questioned about where they were when a crime took place, a guilty person will go into far too much detail as to where they were, why they were there, how much they like the drive there, etc., whereas an innocent person will reply with the minimal amount of factual info.
i had the same thought! he was asked whathappened and his first response is to tell her he went to work out ??? every single thing he does and said is SO SUS
I can't imagine being her family - having to hear this INSANE 'suicide' cause of death. Show me ONE CASE in human history that someone stabbed themselves to death 20 times. It's so far beyond ludicrous - hurts my soul to know we live in a world where this kind of horrific police work and obvious coverup can be a thing.
Families are the strongest advocate we can have. Think of the Fl case, slight, young woman ‘commits suicide’ by binding her hands & feet, she’s nude, ‘jumps’ over a five foot railing, to hang herself. Sane people see how impossible this call is but it was reasonable to the police UNTIL the Zahu family had the money and resources to keep pressure on the police department to get the ruling overturned. God bless family members who seek the truth for the person who can’t speak for themselves.💕
didn't you know it's the police_force MO "modus operandi" - "way of operating"! to assign anything death related crime as suicide, especially when it comes to women!!
YOU are my Audible!! Being able to put in my wireless headphones after work while I am doing my annoying chores and cooking and cleaning for my children, I love listening to your story telling and you put so much work into it! I love your deep dives, I could listen (and do) to you for hours and escape while doing things that nobody wants to do like cleaning my boys bathroom lol!! LOVE LOVE your channel and so glad I found you!
Okay….so he says “it’s a long knife!” How does he know how long it is? There are knife sets that the handles are the same size, but the blade is different lengths. He killed her!
There's no way it would be in so far that the entire blade is hidden. That's only in the movies. You'd be able to tell what kinda knife it was from seeing the part of the blade if it's a large chef knife it'd be pretty easy to tell.
I've heard this case a few times now and every time I do I get angrier each time. How they claim this is suicide is just bonkers. I truly hope Ellen gets justice. Between the 911 call to her injuries a preschooler would be able to tell it was murder. 💔🤬
This case has always FASCINATED me since its local to me here in Philadelphia.. I remember it all happening.. ellen seemed like such a wonderful person! Wish I would have known her.. great deep dive stephanie! & even doing it while sick- your a trooper.. when u have ADHD like myself- i totally understand adderall helping you focus esp while ur sick.. no need to explain yourself! I dont take my daily, but when I'm sick, or overwhelmed or really need to get my work done, u better believe I do- that's why its prescribed to people like us! Thanks for your commitment girl!
I think it’s also pretty telling that in the 911 call, the murderer states that she was “stabbed in the heart” and not “in the chest” Like everyone else who referenced that final wound states. I believe this is because that was his intent. As her romantic partner, he wanted to “stab her in the heart” and so he did.
Yep i picked up on that also. My alarm bells went off big time on this case. Yea she was going to not marry him and his lame ass couldn't handle it. The guy gives off the worst Incel vibes every.
Labeling this case a suicide is absolutely ludicrous! This poor girl was murdered 100%!!! We need to insist on a new investigation starting with the autopsy that was admittedly bullied to reflect a lie. 20 stab wounds is enough evidence to convince me in a trial that she was murdered. Justice for Ellen
It's so relaxing & refreshing to watch Stephanie true crime video on a Monday morning! A great way to start my day! I have never heard this case before, this case is new to me.
It seems very convenient that she started showing signs of anxiety and abnormal behavior a few months before her death. As someone who has thought of suicide, it’s impossible to believe someone would want to stab themselves 20 times. If you’re going to stab yourself, one stab to the heart is all you need.
Maybe the anxiety and abnormal behavior was due to the abuse? I don’t understand how he’s denying abuse with the multiple bruises in various stages of healing, this case is RIDICULOUSLY badly covered up.
@@maggiekarabel123 it's very possible that abuse was the cause of her anxiety. Yes, her psychiatrist asked her if she was being abused or if her relationship with her fiance was bad, but abuse victims do not tell people. Sometimes, they don't even realize that what's done to them is wrong, especially when psychological abuse is involved. Sad story, and I really, really cannot believe that she did that to herself.
There is no way that was a suicide. None. The reason it was declared a suicide is obvious: law enforcement dishonesty. Someone was bribed, threatened, embarrassed, or otherwise involved in covering up the truth. I hope Ellen's family continues to push...and push...and push until the truth about what happened to her comes to light.
You think it has to be ‘law enforcement dishonesty’ but they often just choose the easiest way (on them) to go. Without family members demanding the truth, the system is sluggish and often lazy.
Lack of defensive wounds could have been from the severed spinal cord. If this stabbing occurred toward the start of the attack she would not have been able to defend herself. So if Ellen was indeed chopping up some fruit and was attacked from behind then it is possible she was unable to defend herself.
I burst out laughing when he said "OMG she stabbed herself" AHAHAHA.. I apologize for my insensitivity to the victim and subject nature but wow that was golden
I have heard about this case before and it infuriates me. I feel so bad for her family. I hope they reopen this case at some point and they get justice. Side note- what a beautiful smile and teeth she has. ❤
I couldn't comment under the pinned comment, but I laughed out loud at the Adderall comment. I love how open you are with your ADD, I have ADHD and I take Adderall as well and I found it relatable and hilarious. The fact people got upset, well that just shows how much they pay attention to your content, because you've mentioned it in numerous videos on here and on your podcast. I hope you don't stop sharing your experience with ADD, because it matters.
People can be so dumb about prescribed controlled substances! They always jump to " drug addiction or abuse" it's ridiculous 🙄 I have severe anxiety, PTSD, and frequent panic attacks, so I have to take klonopin. My quality of life if I didn't have it would be unliveable
I used to work in a hotel and they definitely have a tool to open those door locks. I definitely think the door was broken prior to him coming back from the gym. The cops definitely wanted to have this ruled a suicide because they didn't preserve the scene initially. This is clearly a murder.
I just dropped the kids off at school and now have to fold the laundry... But then just as I'm starting, I'm blessed with a new Mrs. Harlowe video to listen to?! Today is a good day! 👏☺️👍🤣 Thanks Stephanie! You're the best!
I've gotta run to the school to get the PTA's presents for teacher appreciation week handed out and then I'll be home to do laundry and listen again...the fun lives of mom's who live true crime...lol
I think the main point in the decisions made in this case revolve around the phrase "his attorney uncle had political connections and was important"... that's all you need to get away with murder. Just look around the world we currently live in.
I love your name! 💜 my mother who passed away was named Angela, and my middle name is Marie. Was asking for a sign from her all day, so I’ll take this as the sign. 😇 thank you.
I'm having such a hard time right now with the recent murder of my niece and I am finding it hard to watch all of my other crime "shows" but you have so much compassion for what you do that i can still find a sense of normality that I had prior to her murder; without my mind being pulled back into the brutality of the crime committed against my niece. I thank you for that. I thank you for what you do and putting your heart and soul into it because without your channel and your podcast I wouldnt be able to get my dose of what makes me happy. THANK YOU!
So glad you're covering Ellen's case. The circumstances just don't sit right and never will, because I seriously do not think it's possible for someone to do this to themselves. And I recently heard Sam is married with children at this point. Rip Ellen.
I could marry a man whose fiancé killed herself or was murdered by a stranger. All he had to do was weep and convince her he was the victim of a tragic incident. That’s assuming he wasn’t already dating her and she wasn’t the type to help him cover up what he did.

“Omg she stabbed herself , there’s a knife sticking out of her heart” oh no oh my goodness. 🤦🏻♀️🙄 but why did he giggle ??!!! Hope you feel better Steph !!! Tysm for all your hard work 💕
And it's so weird how she fell onto the knife with her neck, her stomach, her head, and her chest... Multiple times at each location. This lady was clumsy
Luckily the ME's office had also kept a portion of her spine, and it was shown that one of the "stabs" actually severed a good portion of it, upon entering, meaning she wouldn't have been able to stab herself any further (as if she ever did to begin with!) much less with the force necessary to keep the blade impaled in her chest. Plus, who ZIPS UP their top AFTER stabbing themselves 20 times?! Who also gets that ol' suicidal urge while cutting up fruit for a snack? There was also blood running the wrong direction from the one she was supposedly found in (she was purportedly found sitting on the floor, with her back up against the kitchen cabinets, but had a trickle of blood that went across her face, as if she'd been laid out flat, and by the time Sam had supposedly moved her to do CPR, she was dead, and thus no longer bleeding, leading it to seem as if she'd been repositioned by the killer/Sam) The list of things that lead it to look nothing like suicide, is so long, it boggles the mind that they came to such a conclusion, but also so QUICKLY! They seem bound and determined it was self inflicted from the get go.
As someone who has suffered with depression and anxiety since I was a teenager and been on multiple drugs to "treat" it over the years AND who regularly sees a psychologist to keep myself in check, I'm VERY concerned that someone could murder me and it be called a suicide just coz I'm a normal person with normal issues!!! This is a disgusting act of corruption and injustice!!! 🤢 I pray Ellen gets justice soon! 🙏🏻
It's scary but they do it even if you don't have any known mental health issues. Especially if you're marginalized in any way. Especially if the person who did it has money or knows people with the ability to inconvenience the police department
I actually kinda really needed that "Thank you for existing." I really feel like a waste of time and space alot and can't help but feel like a failure, not only to myself but to my children. So just to hear "thank you for existing" really shined a light on the fact that I truly need to work on my self love. Thank you for existing and giving us amazing content to listen to while we clean our home. I love you so very much sugar. Blessed be. 🙌
And to anyone who takes the time to read this comment "Thank you so much for existing and giving the whole world 💫"YOU"💫 Cause there's only one of you and you are the most fabulous you that you can be. Xoxoxo
There's a reason you and I exist, even if we can't see it. You are unlike anyone else and may have said that one word to someone in your life that needed it enjoy each day and don't be so hard on yourself. There's many of us rooting for you.❤
How can someone stab themselves 20 times…..?? I mean what? I watched this case on another channel and now I am binge watching your videos as a new subscriber.
Philly’s police department is notoriously known as being corrupt in the area. Sam obviously murdered Ellen. It’s his uncle that’s protecting him for whatever reason(s). I wondered if Ellen was going to break off the engagement or wanted to push off the wedding date? Something that would triggered so much rage that would cause over 10+ stab wounds (overkill).
Seems weird that she would have sent out save the dates 4 days prior, but with her family suggesting she was considering moving home maybe she was trying to keep him out of the loop, pretend everything was going "as planned" and he found out? It's an obvious coverup and so incredibly frustrating
@Stephanie Harlowe It appears to me that maybe it was BECAUSE Ellen was sending out the “save the dates” that, that may have been the reason for the attack, and subsequent murder of Ellen. Maybe her fiancé DIDN’T want to get married. He could’ve had another woman, or just wanted the freedom to have many or any woman he wanted. I think he saw murdering Ellen as a way out of marriage. He may have been doing things to her (which caused those bruises over time) to get HER to call off the wedding… and when it didn’t work… he woke up that day choosing violence! Ellen’s family needs to have an investigator look into who he was seeing, calling, hanging out with, etc before Ellen’s murder. I strongly suspect that he thinks of himself as playboy and a catch. And only proposed to Ellen because that was what was expected of him…. While he had different plans. I definitely think Ellen sending out the “save the dates” was a huge part of his rage that caused him to murder Ellen. Either she was leaving him like suggested above… or it was the fact that she was sending out those “save the dates” for a wedding he DIDN’T want to take place.
@@ChristiansPrayingTogether yea he is clearly self centered. He didn't want the marriage or to be tied down to one person. He cones off to me as a ladies man or thinks he is. Idk why vur he does. He thought or thinks with his connections he could do it and get away with it. I hope justice is served.
This is a case that would be excellent to cover on Crime Weekly so that we could hear Derrik’s take on the police work aspect (or lack thereof) on this case.
This case is making me seethe. I've witnessed someone 'break' down a door years ago when a friend of mine didn't reply for a whole day and she was in a very bad way when it comes to her mental health. Now, not only did the frame come off, but even the bolt ended up dangling from the door itself. What I see there is a clear sign of a cover-up. This, with everything on top of that? Let's be honest here, this guy is well-connected thanks to his uncle, the police was clearly in on all of this ( and probably motivated by the appalling job they've done when it comes to this case ). Whoever has worked on this case should be fired and should face some charges. The 'fiancee' should be investigated into & his uncle should be kicked out of whatever position he now sits in - this guy clearly covered all this up and no one can tell me otherwise. Who are they for taking her laptops and phone?! They're not family!
Thanks.
It makes me sad that people will instantly assume the worst. I’m sorry you felt you had to clarify - sometimes people suck! I hope you feel better!! 💕
People man 🙄
I can't believe you had to defend yourself. Oy! 🤦🏾♀️ ❤❤❤
Dont ever explain yourself...wtf is wrong with people
You shouldn't have to clarify!
Yes! When they ask what happened and they go “I WASNT HERE I WAS AT X Y and X”
Exactly! Every single time they start the 911 call with "i was just at this or that place and came home to find XYZ".. They're always guilty
I just added the same comment. Lol
My thoughts exactly. Guilt all of that. Our subconscious definitely tells on us.
Right?! I only say "oh my goodness" when talking to children or my sweet 74 year old mother in law.
This is my favorite comment because it's so true. 😂 he's a terrible actor. My 4 year old son is way more convincing about said elf that allegedly drew on the wall 🙄😂
Right!???
It's so flat and unconvincing.
LOL I think lots of moms use this tone for situations like that lol. That’s the first thing I thought of when I heard him say that lol lol
As soon as you said she was stabbed 20 times, I couldn't believe the husband was EVER let go.
It's crazy right, got to be a cover up cause the cops stuffed up from the start

His silence on the subject is the most damning thing to me. If my fiance committed her suicide 10+ years ago and the entire world accusing me of killing her, I would be volunteering to talk to every news outlet, at least if I was innocent.

"Oh my god she stabbed herself" was the least convincing thing I've ever heard.
No kidding. Nobody's mind would go to that first. Attacked? Yes, stabbed herself? What?
@@wadehoyt7707 It was also the way he said it, his tone of voice sounds odd and unconvincing. Kind of like when someone pretends they didn't expect a surprise birthday party or something.
He said it very lower-case omg not OMG!!
Apparently they re opened her case ! I hope she gets the justice she deserves - and her parents deserve. Rest In Peace Ellen xx
Thank You for doing Ellen's case. She was a friend and co worker of my niece. She deserves justice.
She absolutely does!
Hope justice is done for her soon!
So sorry for your nieces loss ❤
What does everyone think? I heard this scumbag got remarried and even has a kid!
She has also bruises on her arms wrists, one side of her hips and all over her legs.
She fell on a knife? That’s like in the play Chicago, “He ran into my knife 10 times!” This guy knows exactly what happened. I hope Ellen’s family gets the answers they deserve.
Reminds me of that Eminem song where the girl is caught cheating and he says, "What, you tripped, fell
and landed on his dick?!"
So absurd!
Right she fell on a knife that was sticking straight up somehow.

“She stabbed herself!” Nobody would ever assume that before “she was stabbed.” That’s insane. This man had no plan…
No, he definitely had a plan. That’s why he called his uncle to do clean up for him.
Right! Leaving a woman alone in an apartment, coming back to find her stabbed, one would automatically make the assumption that she stabbed "herself"? Very bizarre
“She fell on a knife!” I cant stand this dude 🙄
YES EXACTLY!! If someone came across a person with a knife sticking out of their chest, they would most likely say something like “she was stabbed!” And not automatically assume it was self inflicted
@@savannahprose5195 I agree!!! This is a cover up! We all know who did it.

I could feel the "to arrest your dumbass" she added inside her head.
SEVERAL people

When some one dies where are you going to find the numbers and addresses of family members to notify of their passing ? 🤔 In their laptops ? social media accounts? cell phone contacts? Most likely unless your 50 and up pretty much . Where are you going to gather pictures from for the funeral? In their electronics.?
But, that did not give unrelated individual to TAKE those devices!! Only police, who should have had them, or family should be taking her personal and work property!!
They really expected people to believe that she stabbed herself in the back of the head?! I am speechless. Wow..
Ridiculous right?
Stabbed herself 20 times in the back of the head, neck, stomach, and chest. Severing her spinal cord midway through. This case is SO OUTRAGEOUS, I am THRILLED to see it finally getting mainstream attention.
I haven't seen ep 2 yet but Stephanie has left out a LOT including the evidence of major cleanup, specifically by sam, and also evidence the door was broken from the inside. Sigh.
Almost like Travis Alexander's death except for the throat gash & gunshot. It's a no brainer!
I remember this on the news
How could someone even physically stab themself in the back of the head from so many angles in the first place? The handling of this case was absolutely outrageous and absurd. Thank you for calling attention to this atrocity. Signed the petition and hoping for justice, to include an outside agency reopening the case. Since the ones who "handled" it have proven they're incapable of doing their jobs.
So like, she built a block of ice with a knife sticking out of it. And she just headbanged on the ice. Then the ice melted and she slipped on the water stabbing her chest on it.
“Oh no. She stabbed herself. 😐”
Literally so unconvincing.
Her tone after he said that was like oh hell nah this motherf@cker
The operator was like, yeah, sure.
Right? The 911 dispatcher was having none of it. You can hear it in her voice when he was hesitating to do CPR and when he "first" saw the knife.
This case is absolutely maddening. The fact that suicide was even *considered* with those injuries is ridiculous, let alone actually assigning that as the cause of death.
Totally agree...is part too out yet? I can't believe this fiancee has just got off Scot free with what is obvious to see "Murder" absolutely shocking.

Tbh, I went straight to "Stephanie has ADHD?" and then dismissed it. I don't think MY reaction was the strange one....
My husband had to bust into an interior door. Without a swing lock, literally just the handle locked. It broke the entire side of the door, ripped the frame off. I don't believe he knocked that door down.
Exactly, Sarah! Something does not add up here!
I agree!! One time my bests friends brother fell sleep in the bathroom tub and her parents broke down the door. Just the handle was locked and there was more damage than this swing door had
Same, my ex husband kicked in our door once & it broke entirely in half. Totally agree that several things in this case are not adding up.
My door got jammed with my dogs got stuck in my room & I was alone. I had to bust my bedroom door down and this was an inside door. And the entire frame busted & entire door was damaged so I agree with u! This is extra suspish
Especially apartment front doors have to be fire doors so they're pretty effing sturdy.
You’re very fortunate I’ve seen this too many times
The fact that he’s sent these as an alibi, knowing that the police would read them, just shows he thinks that’s a totally normal response too

Feel like it should go without saying but if I’m ever found with 20+ stab wounds including to the back of my neck, please note it was NOT suicide. 😳
This poor, beautiful, bright, kind woman deserves justice. Any even close to reasonable person can see this was not suicide.
It is absolutely ludicrous to me that anyone could look at this scene and declare it a suicide. There HAS to be corruption somewhere along the line of authority.
💯. I'm baffled how anyone can even think for one second this was suicide. Hope her family gets justice asap 🙏.
There is not one part of this case that makes me think suicide, I can’t imagine someone trained in the field could make that big of a misjudgment.
My jaw physically dropped when you said she was stabbed TWENTY TIMES. Are you kidding me? How was this ever seen as a suicide in any light.
Very sad case. Justice for Ellen Greenberg and her parents. This is adding insult to injury. Prayers for justice. ❤🙏🏻
Also, who says 'oh, she stabbed herself!'.. instead of 'she was stabbed!'? Usually someone would assume they were attacked and stabbed by someone else, not jump to the conclusion that they committed suicide by stabbing themselves.
Very true this case so sickening he clearly murder her terrible how the police covered up the investigation.
Exactly. He was leading the investigation towards suicide from the beginning.
I thought the same thing! Right away hes like she stabbed herself, then he tried to change it up like maybe she fell on the knife...yeah first thing anyone would think, who tf did this!
Exactly
Much less that she “fell on a knife”
Can we talk about how long it took him to get around to the “emergency” part of the 911 call?
“911, what’s your emergency?”
“Well, I had a little trouble sleeping last night, so I hit snooze twice when my alarm went off.
She’s probably dead.”
SERIOUSLY?!?!?!

I wonder. So much has been scrubbed and certain members of the media won’t even report the Shapiro involvement. RIP Ellen.
If Shapiro is nominated… believe me… this will be brought up. It’s one of the most corrupt and vile things a candidate could ever be accused of.

The fact you could tell the 911 operator was suspicious when she replied “Oh, she stabbed herself?” is what did it for me.
I heard that too! She was like “yeah okay…”
The way he said “oh my God she stabbed herself” was so fake & as if he already knew.
Yea, that 911 operator had his number. You have to assume she has experience listening to people reporting emergencies and she knew what he was saying was BS.
Yep, she was having none of it.
The same tone as when a kid tells you it was their imaginary friend that colored on the walls.
Anytime, ANYTIME, I hear about “and the victim was engaged/married” I’m like oh god here we go
And the saddest part is, so many times, it IS the partner.
Same. It's so incredibly sad
90% of the time. 😔
Specifically it's women being murdered by male partners.
Yes. It's tragic.
The sad part is when the parters family is “connected” that stuff gets swept under the rug.
The 911 call is so telling. He’s creating an alibi “I was at the gym & the door was locked”. Obviously he sounds so fake “surprised” and upset. I can’t believe he’s gotten away w this for so long.
Where is he now?
Right? And door locked and latched are different. I've broken my own chain latch by walking in when my ex was home and he latched it instinctually. I didnt even have to try. I just pushed it like usual and my entire door frame came off.
No one actually knows if it was locked is all by his say
That operator was horrible, scolding him for not being calm.
@@haleystewart259 he kept switching it up too. Latched and locked are different!

I agree! That 911 call is SO FAKE sounding I can not believe anyone took him seriously. This case makes me so mad
Yes!! I totally agree!
I’m only 2 minutes into the 911 call and it is by far the most atrocious 911 call I’ve ever heard

he didn't stab himself in the back of the neck and head, though
The placement of these wounds on the back of her neck and head appears like she was cowering as someone was standing over her stabbing.
I would say he was abusing her and it was that causing the Anxiety.
I’m calling it now, it’s absolutely the boyfriend! I noticed a red flag, which was his controlling behavior towards her. How she always had to seek his approval before doing something. Excellent explanation of the case.
The depth of this corruption is disgusting. Signed and shared the petition. Praying for justice.

This!!!
Right! That's the last thing that is think! More like, "who the hell did this to you"
Yeah especially after he called 911 before he checked on her.
If you walk in on your fiance bloodied on the floor you're gunna run over and see what happened you're not just gunna whip out your phone and call 911 (unless you already know what happened cuz you fucking did it)
In the Betsy Faria murder case her husband said that she had killed herself on the 911 call. She had been stabbed multiple times by Pam Hupp.
Any normal person would have said "omg she's been stabbed" or "someone stabbed her"
They had split earlier in the day and she'd made him leave...she called off the engagement and was done with him *which is why the ring was not on her hand*.... he didn't like that.
Can you give your timeline? I am starting to question the original timeline from Gavin Fish based on your theory. It’s really got me thinking.
"Ahhhhh she stabbed herself!" gave me such middle school play energy
The oranges and blueberries are what sealed it for me. Sorry, folks with dark thoughts are not just in the middle of peeling an orange and washing blueberries and then suddenly become gripped with a need to cross over by stabbing themselves in the neck.
And she had just filled her gas tank on the way home, yet they try to claim she was planning this. You wouldn't do that either.
I was thinking the same thing!!!

@@quartxxiv767 You would be 100% correct. LE in PA (specifically Philly) are dirty as hell. They are to busy going to brothels getting services or collecting their monthly percentage from the owners. When the Chief of Police got on the news after arresting the Asian girls that were held against their will & forced to provide services, he stated that in 30 years of being in LE he never knew there were massage parlors/brothels in his city.🙄 They took the security system which would of shown LE going in weekly. Yea. That operator wasn’t falling for any of his crap. You can here the “ok whatever. Keep talking dumbass” in her voice.
I thought the same thing! Great job to them!
It's always super telling when the 911 call starts out in complete panic and as soon as the dispatcher says calm down they're calm
Overdosing is actually not a painless way to die
yep and she had access to the meds that could've done it, most likely. And who on earth could stab themselves in the back like that??? no one

I feel like her anxiety could have been fueled by the fiance abusing her, ( bruises found on her body ), and for some reason not wanting to talk to anyone about it.
I totally agree. That was my first thought too.
Most people who have been abused emotionally and physically usually don’t want to talk about it till they are out of the situation.
‘for some reason’
I didn’t know her, but as someone who was in an abusive relationship for 11 years, it’s embarrassing to tell other people what’s going on, you think they’ll change, especially if they’re telling you they will change, if they DO change for a short period of time, you know they can.
She was probably afraid of him.

I feel ya. She's my fav cuz she don't hold back. Love it 😅😍
Gabby Petito described her abusive situation as "anxiety" and "He stresses me out".
100%!! Abuse isn’t always obvious, and sometimes almost impossible to pin point depending on the situation
I agreed with what you were saying up until what you said about the door. Do you think he was actually locked out? And then what...? Became angry about it?
Comparing Ellen’s anxiety to the Gabby Petito case is a very astute observation. I 💯% agree with you.
This story is so infuriating! I hope this beautiful girl and her family get justice.
I am so glad you did this case, I literally gasped when I saw the title. Ellen has NEEDED justice for a long time.
This is common knowledge. Whenever the caller inserts an alibi when asked what happened, they're always guilty.
Agreed, everytime one gives more information then emergent and necessary, they are trying to establish an alibi.
Right and then we’re supposed to believe she also put her hoodie on top of the knife and zipped it up? It’s insane!
didn't you know it's the police_force MO "modus operandi" - "way of operating"! to assign anything death related crime as suicide, especially when it comes to women!!
@@jo-eo9ld I think law enforcement and the slogan propaganda of protecting the public is a joke....they might as well "work from home"

LOVE LOVE your channel and so glad I found you!
Okay….so he says “it’s a long knife!” How does he know how long it is? There are knife sets that the handles are the same size, but the blade is different lengths. He killed her!
to be fair here, i know which of my knives go where and if i saw a handle missing from the set id know what size it was
There's no way it would be in so far that the entire blade is hidden. That's only in the movies. You'd be able to tell what kinda knife it was from seeing the part of the blade if it's a large chef knife it'd be pretty easy to tell.
In my head I hear him saying I don’t know three (pushes knife farther in her body) maybe 4 inches. It’s a long knife.
I know exactly what knife is which in my house even the ones that look almost identical
Yeah, have to agree with Jo on this one. I would know the exact knife it was by the handle
Thanks for your love and support, Tana!
That judge/lawyer must be disbarred in my opinion
I think it’s also pretty telling that in the 911 call, the murderer states that she was “stabbed in the heart” and not “in the chest” Like everyone else who referenced that final wound states. I believe this is because that was his intent. As her romantic partner, he wanted to “stab her in the heart” and so he did.
Very good observation!
I am glad to be able to bring your attention to it!
Her odd behaviour is 100% pointing to abuse under the hands of a controlling partner.
Yeah, who is ever in such a position, alone, for others to determine that it is a crime of rage, so rage against themselves?
There is no way that was a suicide. None. The reason it was declared a suicide is obvious: law enforcement dishonesty. Someone was bribed, threatened, embarrassed, or otherwise involved in covering up the truth. I hope Ellen's family continues to push...and push...and push until the truth about what happened to her comes to light.
You think it has to be ‘law enforcement dishonesty’ but they often just choose the easiest way (on them) to go. Without family members demanding the truth, the system is sluggish and often lazy.
@@judywright4241 that one 🤘
Lack of defensive wounds could have been from the severed spinal cord. If this stabbing occurred toward the start of the attack she would not have been able to defend herself. So if Ellen was indeed chopping up some fruit and was attacked from behind then it is possible she was unable to defend herself.
Was hoping I'd find this comment. Agree!
Makes better sense than: "I'm hungry, guess I'll chop up some fruit for a snack. . . . . I can't go on!" (stabs self in back of head).
I'm sure you know this but
They know that and they literally do not care

So glad you're covering Ellen's case. The circumstances just don't sit right and never will, because I seriously do not think it's possible for someone to do this to themselves. And I recently heard Sam is married with children at this point.
Rip Ellen.
@M33k13 right. I'm sure she would have to but who knows. It's definitely very disturbing and I wouldn't either.
Some women like men like him! Then when the same starts happening to them, they are shocked! SMH
I could marry a man whose fiancé killed herself or was murdered by a stranger. All he had to do was weep and convince her he was the victim of a tragic incident. That’s assuming he wasn’t already dating her and she wasn’t the type to help him cover up what he did.
As a connoisseur of true crime, when a person is giving an alibi at the first of a 911 call ......they did it!
100%
I just replied to another comment with this but it applies here too, you're spot on!
Right?? The bonus lipstick analogy was everything
A knife that he didn’t even see when he looked at her chest to see if she was breathing!
And how did he know the knife was in her heart????
She used the leaving the job excuse to GET AWAY from Sam!!
I have this fear, as well!

I was feeling he more just didn't want to get married. Unsteady of calling it off he killed her to get out of it.
@@clarapayne05 I get that same vibe ... Very sad..
The “extra lipstick 💄 from Sephora” analogy had me 😆
