Considering the dude was asking strangers at the coffee shop to marry him, there’s a HUGE possibility that there was no relationship at all beyond her hiring him as a handyman and then firing him and looking for a new one because he was creepy and inappropriate.
I was thinking this too! Is there any evidence they had a relationship other than his testimony? Because this scenario seems very likely considering his pattern of behavior.
And he’d absolutely have a case. Police are allowed to question minors without prior guardian consent for being a victim/witness of a crime. The same CANNOT be said if they’re a person of interest or suspect. Protections are even MORE strict when it involves a potential murder charge. They have to have at least one guardian or attorney present during the interrogation. Given the media attention, he likely won’t even have to go so far as to sue them. If enough people speak out against his treatment, things will be so much worse for this station than just a lawsuit.
The NYPD has a lot of issues. I uses to have random cops try to follow me home and I knew a lot of other women who had that happen to them as well. Its very intimidating when you are trying to walk home and a cop in a cop car rolls up and starts trying to “chat you up” as he slowly follows you in his car. Ugh…
Honestly, handcuffing and dragging a kid to police station while at the same time you are letting actual creeps get away with it is absolutely awful. I can't believe they did this to her child.
This truly bothered me too. This poor kid was double traumatized that day and its just sickening. If I’m not mistaken the son was 14 years old at the time. I think most 14 year old boys are still too small to be able to drag a duffel bag with a body in it and even if he was physically strong enough to do that, there is no way a teenage boy could kill a grown woman without ending up with defensive wounds on his body. And if the boy was in just his boxers or pajama bottoms it should have been obvious that he had no defensive wounds on his body. The more I think about it the more upset it makes me.
The HORROR of not knowing your mother has been murdered and being jarred awake by a SWAT team, dragged to the station, & told not only your mother is dead, but to be treated like you did it. Dear GOD that poor child. That is beyond words. Smdh.
100%..that's why these groups like CASA are so important they get your support..no minor should ever have to speak to an investigator or step in a courtroom without an advocate or councilor that has only the kids interests as a mandate to support..is absurd theres not a system like that in place already..actualy its absurd there wasnt a system like this in place 50 years ago, for that matter
There was ONE time it was actually a mannequin. I worked at ULTA in a shopping center, and there was a mannequin in our dumpster; everyone thought it was a body. Let’s put that on the record as the one and only time it *was* a mannequin.
I was already going to subscribe as soon as this episode is over - now I’m going to pause to subscribe now! Edited.. done… thank you for giving the Diva her props.
I agree ,we need to call out bullies together as a society. We need to stand together and let them know we will not accept or agree with mean comments like that. As I tell my children .. Stand up and do the right thing, even when it’s hard
You can not blame the victim and feel what happened to her was completely wrong and unjustified, and still tell the truth that she was a bad person. She was a bad person BUT she didn't deserve to be murdered. But she certainly wasn't a saint. And it's a straw man argument to claim none of us are perfect and pretend this was just a little mistake. Don't compare my flaws to someone like that and pretend they are on the same level. She was a terrible person cheating on her husband and by extension cheating on her family with numerous men, exposing her husband to STDs and bringing strange men into the house while her children were asleep. She didn't deserve to be murdered but she was a bad person, a bad mother, and a worse wife. You can admit all of that without thinking or implying it was her fault she got murdered or that she deserved it. Now her husband has to deal with the fact that the love of his life is dead AND she was manipulating and lying to him for years and wasn't the person he thought she was. Her children now have to deal with that too since it's public knowledge. Frankly I'm not surprised he left the country. It's best for him and his kids to be somewhere where they won't be judged or looked down on. I really feel for them. But don't pretend my flaws of procrastination and laziness and bad grades are equal to betraying my husband and children in the worst way possible. Because they aren't.
I can understand getting him out of the house and securing him in SOME way because at that point yeah he’s a potential suspect. But cuffing, taking him to the station, not letting him put on shoes? Really unnecessary and the poor kid
I really appreciate you calling out the victim blaming. When I was 11, my mom was a victim at the hands of my dad because he felt entitled to her. She was then blamed for not leaving earlier and having a relationship outside of the marriage. I felt like you were advocating for my mom in this. Thank you!
She definitely wasn't a victim in the way that one is attacked and killed by a random stranger. She should have been on high alert and refused to allow him inside her home that night or anytime thereafter. She also should have changed her locks the minute she threw him to the curb. I wasn't around him personally but the fact that he's cursing the reporters proves he has a violitle side and is easily provoked. He has wild eyes. I think her family is lucky that he didn't kill all of them and she put her whole family at risk.
@@jacquelynskye295 So it makes her less of a victim because she knew her attacker? Of course she could have done things differently but she didn’t deserve to die. It also doesn’t make her less of a victim. It’s also quite insensitive of you to respond to my comment to Stephanie about my own mother being murdered by my father. Your victim blaming isn’t cute.
@@jacquelynskye295 So many comments to report...sigh~ The nerve of some people like Jaquelyn to be absolutely insensitive. She definitely wouldn't have been able to say this to your face Whitney; she's a victim blaming coward.
You go Stephanie! I hate it when people blame the victim. It was not the victim’s choice to be murdered! You are right. Poor boys that lost their mother. RIP
The Starbucks harassment is SO classic - these guys know exactly how to tread the line so when you describe it it sounds so minimal - but every single woman knows the vibe. It's a basic female survival skill to recognize men that aren't safe. There's a certain vibe and disregard for your signals that you're not interested and uncomfortable. This happens a lot to women working in customer service positions where you risk getting in trouble for doing more than an uncomfortable laugh and trying to distance yourself.
Had one of these guys come in to a bakery i worked at and asked for an application. Gave him one and he sat down. Gave me bad vibes. Came back the next day and asked for the same thing....came up to the counter after filling it out with his dick in his hand.
@@TheAkwarium I have lived lots of places, rural, suburban, urban and traveled to a good number of countries - creepers abound. I'm glad you haven't noticed and can have some faith in humanity. I don't know that I noticed it as much until I got a restaurant job.
Walking to school as a high schooler in 1983 me and my friend ran across a scene. A guy in on the edge of a wooded area with his throat slit. 1 police officer present and the person who found him, a local walking their dog. Lol.
This case was frightening in real time. And Stephanie, your last minutes HIT IT ON THE MARK!! Orsolya didn’t deserve to be murdered, especially not for an affair. She was human and life is full of complications and mistakes.
Totally! It’s crazy how if someone makes mistakes in life and it’s public knowledge people immediately are like “they deserved it.” Like dude. Absolutely nobody is completely flawless. Nobody deserves to be murdered like that just because they have made mistakes.
I appreciate you calling out the people who blamed her. They’re disgusting people. I also think that people want to assume a dead body is actually a mannequin because no one wants it to be a dead body. A mannequin is not an awful thing to find, so that’s what the mind would rather it be.
Also what are the odds that you'd fine a dead body in a bag on the sidewalk versus finding just about anything else? People throw out mannequins more often than they throw out dead bodies.
@@carmenq7339 Some people like bloody pranks. And yes, a dead body looks different. Deep down we know before our brain can realize it. We know this is just a empty vessel and the only thing we know that has no life and looks like a human is a mannequin.
@@sharyebethancourt3660 Agreed - and a forensic pathologist shared that after a very few short hours the skin looks waxen and 'unreal'. I think the human brain just disconnects to insulate from the initial seconds of the horror
Even if she did have an affair, this lapse in judgment should not have cost her life. Anyone saying otherwise is despicable. She was a human; her memory and her surviving family deserve more respect.
@@whitneyrambel5551 Obviously, she didn't think about the ramifications of adultery. I am somewhat biased due to the fact that my father was a jerk in that regard.. The fall out has worked its way down thru a couple of generations of my family with my being greatly impacted by having to pick up the pieces to move us along as a fractured family. His need to keep his torrid social life at its peak greatly hampered my life. I feel that such actions lessened my ability to have a life.
@@carolmccartney7607 You are allowed your own feelings on adultery but insinuating that a woman had it coming because she potentially had an extramarital affair is a far stretch.
@@whitneyrambel5551 I think that you are missing the point about adultery. I do not think that she "had it coming" at all. I think that she shouldn't have gotten that involved. No, she shouldn't have paid with her life, but "lie down with dogs, get up with fleas." I just, personally, have a tough time with adultery based on personal experience. It can only eat away at a once-solid relationship, and the fall-out is long lasting. I am glad for you if you have never had to deal with infidelity in your young life, b/c it can follow you into your adult life. My major complaint was, tho, that someone for whom I had had a lot of respect for--Stephanie Harlowe--had to use such coarse language such as f-u in her own chat. I, again, say that if I had said that, her mods would have had me removed.
Thank you so much for the commentary on victim blaming. I was stalked for over a year unknowingly until he chased me through the parking lot of my place of work at midnight. Of course i called the cops but was asked why i didn’t call sooner or try harder to defend myself. I was told i should have known better than to be too nice. I was asking for it; what did i think was going to happen. Victims are not responsible for the actions of their attackers.
i’ve noticed that “if i can’t have her no one else will” mentality also applies to children a lot of the time (e.g. in a divorce/custody agreement) and has also been a motive for filicide
Unfortunately yeah, just like at the case with Susan Powell and her children. Her awful husband killed her and then burned their own children alive just to make sure her parents didn't get custody of them. That's one of the most heartbreaking cases I've ever watched too
That relationship could just be in his head. The way he harassed the ladies in the coffee shop shows he just may be delusional. I feel so bad that she’s being judged without knowing the truth and her family is hearing all these things that can be all in this guys mind. RIP and May this family find some peace.
It's entirely possible that their extra marital "relationship" was all in his head. He built a world where they lived happily ever after in la-la land and reality coincided with the fantasy in the house that night.
I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if it’s even true. I’d say he had the same thoughts about the Starbucks girls but this lady probably smiled at him
Has it even been established for sure that their 'relationship' existed anywhere outside of the killer's head? The handyman note is just odd, in any other context.
I also think a woman like her would not fall so low and sleep with the town’s creepy clown. But, if he was just a handyman why would she let him in the middle of the night his man is away? Unless he was threatening her or got there using the spare key and made her go in the basement. I’d call the police asap if my weird handyman shows up at 1 am
@@valnsky "a woman like her"...This is worse than the idea of victim blaming because you're saying he was beneath her. So we're either going to truly address character and decisions or we aren't. There was a history of something going on with him and other men. Their situation dates back two years.
Out of interest cause I see this a lot in Stephanie’s comment section: what if your worst enemy is one of these perpetrators she talks about? I don’t think I’m virtuous enough to say some of them don’t deserve the worst (especially those that target children…)
@@emdove If you also watch, this is why Stephanie delves into the childhood of said perpetrators, and even their parents lives. We have no idea why some ppl turn out to be the horrible ppl that they turn out to be. Until we see what they may have experienced as children themselves. No excuses! Just sayin. Those ppl will get what they deserve anyway whether here on earth or the afterlife which is sure to come.
it’s crazy to me how often people get blamed for their own murder because they were, allegedly, unfaithful. let’s say she was unfaithful, in what world does that mean she has to die? why do these two children have to lose their mother? absolutely disgusting
This is exactly how I was feeling the moment Stephanie mentioned she was texting other guys. Okay so she’s unfaithful, that doesn’t mean she deserved to die???
Maybe she wasn’t even unfaithful. Maybe they had an open marriage, as Stephanie said. You never know because we don’t know. Either way, she didn’t deserve to die. Agreed.
In a world where men and women get killed for having sexual misadventures every day, you have to know that cheating is never the only outlet and there's always something safe to do. You know how they say, "that person got what was coming to them"? Well we can all feel bad for her, that doesn't make the truth any less true.
@@100gds2 depends where you rate cheating? Is it close to murder? Is it close to abuse? Here is an example for you…(insert name) got murdered, but they were kind of aloof. Myself and a few others hate that in people so he had it coming anyway or really got what he deserved. It’s scary you think that way really. One is bad in a social sense the other is monstrous.
I remember hearing an explanation around victim shaming that I’ve since thought has a lot of weight to it. I heard it’s a defensive response. So they think “Orsolya had an affair and got murdered. So I’m going to be safe because I’ve not had an affair.” A lot of people react to fear with hate and anger. They’re turning it back on the victim in a strange act of protecting themselves. The world is scary after all. Just a theory I kinda like.
@@Geengarner If you think of cases of SA this theory makes sense! Instead of accepting that it can happen to anyone at any time, we often see people blaming the victim. “If they weren’t wearing _____” or “if they didn’t do _____” are common victim-blaming statements, when the truth is assault only happens because the perpetrator decided to! But it’s easier for some people to create a false sense of security by distancing themselves from such crimes
That's interesting & I think it's likely an explination. Since become a wheelchair user I've noticed that people tend to do the same, they try to say I've done something wrong, or aren't doing the right thing, rather than I just lost the genetic lottery. I'm sure it's so they feel less scared thinking it could never happen to them & even maybe not having to extend so much empathy to others.
this reminds me a lot of the bianca devins case. her killer said he was her boyfriend and she'd cheated on him but in reality they weren't even together! i feel so bad for this whole family
I was thinking that this actually could have been a one way affair. He sounds off. Maybe he was doing some work for her and then she realized that she made a mistake and he wasn't going to let her go!
Also it really doesn't matter either way, she didn't deserve to be murdered. And it isnt anyone's business what she did.The police treated the son horribly but truthfully nothing they do could surprise me.
I thought of that case as well! There are videos still up on YT trashing her reputation & outright saying she got what she deserved, it’s outrageous!!!
Further to your point about the cases being similar, people also chose to slander and blame poor Bianca after she was brutally murdered by that psycho because she "led people on" and "wasn't very nice to a lot of people". As if not always being the nicest person and having flaws means you deserved to be horrifically killed. It's disgusting to attack people who aren't around to defend themselves, even more disgusting to say anyone deserves to have something so terrible happen to them because of things they may or may not have said and done.
I just want to thank you again for your powerful support of women...... you can NEVER know what she is living unless you lived her life! And no matter what?? No man thinks another man deserves to die for cheating.... period
Honestly, if there's no evidence they had a relationship, he could've made it all up. Maybe he was hired and started being inappropriate like he did with the starbucks barista. So, she fired him. Maybe he was mad about the rejection and went from there.
I agree with you. I was waiting for that part when Stephanie will show us like messages that they exchanged or some proof. But there was none,we will see what will happen on the trial however I really really doubt that there was a relationship between them at all. So cruel and sad!
I was wondering about this too. We have only his word that they were in a relationship, and whatever was in her phone hasn't come out as far as I know, so who knows what it shows. He could have been creepily texting her and she could have been politely responding, but getting more and more freaked out as time went on.
This whole relationship could have been just his imagination. As everybody said in the neighborhood, she was very nice and friendly. It is enough for some mentally sick people to think that they are in an actual love relationship with the person. Btw. She was 51! But she looks 2 decades younger! I wish I knew her secret. She looked amazing! Her being such a nice person, she could struggle to getting rid of this delusional man...

Good job Stephanie. I’m so happy to hear you calling out the ignorant comments of these people who somehow think their words are not horrible and disgusting. We all make bad decisions all the time and never deserve to die for them.
speak for yourself, because we definitely do not all make equally bad decisions. most people aren't having multiple affairs while married to someone who pays their way in life, most of us aren't being passed around the city like a box of tissues when we are supposed to be stay at home moms. most of us aren't letting dangerous men into the home we share with our husband and children. not all bad decisions are created equal. stop enabling and justifying her disgusting behavior. dying doesn't mean you are suddenly devoid of accountability.

Yes Stephanie! That rant was epic. And well justified. I also believe that we, as women, should make good decisions (be careful about walking at night etc) but it makes me so angry that we have to. How about we raise good humans to value us so I don’t have to be terrified walking to my car at night? It’s exhausting that the onus is put on us. The victim blaming just has to stop.
I had to turn it off 12 mins early... We need a timestamp so we know when the story is over and it's Stephanie power hour lol I totally agree with her point though! It's so easy to be critical in hindsight. I think victim blaming makes people feel safer. "If I never cheat, if I never open the door to my ex, if I never walk alone, I'll never get murdered". It's just not that easy.

I’m from Guatemala and have been a subscriber of yours for a long time. This case is awful… knowing she loved my country so much and looking at her pictures here just broke my heart. Thank you for this Stephanie.
I’m not saying Orsolya didn’t have an affair with this man, but given his track record, I’m almost willing to believe she may have been friendly and he created this relationship in his head. Maybe they slept together once and it was over for her, but it wasn’t for him. Maybe it was casual to her and he believed it was serious. I just have a hard time believing she completely misled him. I just can’t quite believe his side without more evidence. In any case, even if she brazenly led him on, murder was not the answer. Even vindictively telling her husband would have been understandable.
i thought the same thing, i wonder how much of this "two year relationship" was actually confirmed....he sounds more like a delusional stalker than a jilted lover
Go Stephanie!! I am so happy you spoke about victim shaming, it happens way too often. Not right that he took her life, what gives him the right. Nothing gives him that right. Thanks for this story.
Hey Stephanie! Just a tiny little correction here: her first name is actually pronounced Or-sho-yah. You did great on the last name thought! Hungarian pronounciation is infamously hard! Thank you for doing this case ❤️
It’s not as bad as Polish! I was at the DMV and the woman pointed at a white rectangle on the wall and asked me to read out some of the letters printed on it. I said “Read them out? That’s my cousin!”
Adultery used to be a criminal offence here in the UK until the introduction of the Matrimonial Act in 1857 ... I love your talk on entitlement, I couldn't have said it better myself 👌
Preach sistah! Something about murder that isnt much discussed is how murder ends up exposing everyone's secrets and private life. The collateral damage of everything being exposed to the public and to a victim's extended family and community can be devastating to the survivors.
@@sharyebethancourt3660 Mhmm. I wish I could like this twice. “Beautiful blonde woman undone by lust” sells a lot more papers than “psychopath murders woman he allegedly had an affair with.” My cousin was beaten half to death during a robbery, he has permanent and severe brain damage and evidence suggests he was beaten somewhere else, dumped in front of his house and left for dead. The papers chose to highlight his arrest for marijuana possession 15 years prior instead of giving any useful information. Infuriating.
The person that reported finding human remains in the Casey Anthony case was slammed for going back to the scene, it must be terrifying to find these poor souls 😞🕊️⚖️❤️
I love that you blasted the victim shaming douchebags in your video. If they were a victim they would think differently, if they survived. This is the first video of yours I've watched, and I look forward to watching more.
Thank you for your commentary on victim blaming. 👍No matter what someone may have done, they don't deserve to be murdered. They are not responsible for their own murder. Murder is never ok & never the victim's fault. Period.
As a Hungarian woman living far away from home, thank you so much for covering this case and for the way you’ve done it. ❤️ And Lori, talking about a dead person cynically is sick enough. But doing so in second-person about someone that was stabbed 58 times? I strongly suggest you see a professional.
As always, wonderful work! Thank you for reminding us all to check ourselves! Victim blaming is so dangerous and is so imbedded. That CRAP needs to stop! Thank you for being a voice for Orsolya!
THANK YOU for that well needed lecture. Some of these people are so far removed from the reality that these cases involve real people. REAL people. Not fictional perfect characters.

Yes, Stephanie, I love you calling out these asshats! People really should take at look at why they feel that it is in any way ok to post such disrespectful comments. I could never understand it. It's something that really gets me and often I find myself calling out these people. Sady they most often double down on their behaviour. Lately I do it less because it is just so damn draining and sad.
I live 4 blocks away from her and seeing you cover this is absolutely wild. I’m honestly surprised you heard of this case considering people near my neighborhood in forest hills literally have not heard of this. As a (young) mom, myself, hearing this was literally terrifying. I pass the house everyday. And it’s just a super eerie feeling knowing what went on. BUT you covering this is Honeslty just mind blowing!
Just to add I followed this case in real time. And I’m reading he comment below. You guys have to undestand how quiet and secluded our neighborhood really is. This type of stuff is especially to this extent literally never happens. So it was hard at for police and people just following this not to speculate over who did it. It was just something like HOW? EHY? HER? Literally soooooooo out of the blue.
Speaking of “The Staircase”, you and Derrick should really do a CW series on the Michael Peterson case! I would love to hear what you’d be able to dig up about it because I still haven’t formed a solid theory on whether or not he’s guilty. I’ve watched every doc on it 5,264 times…lol
Agreed - this would be a super interesting case for Stephanie and Derrick to do a deep dive about. So many theories, it's hard to know what's really true in this case.
Preach… blaming the victim does nothing but show the terrible character of the person blaming. I hope none of them ever have a tragic thing happen and have others blame them for that tragic event. One rule that never gets old treat people how you want to be treated.
Considering the dude was asking strangers at the coffee shop to marry him, there’s a HUGE possibility that there was no relationship at all beyond her hiring him as a handyman and then firing him and looking for a new one because he was creepy and inappropriate.
I was thinking the same!
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe she was just friendly and he deliberately misunderstood their relationship.
Really fair point
I had the same thoughts.
I was thinking this too! Is there any evidence they had a relationship other than his testimony? Because this scenario seems very likely considering his pattern of behavior.
After hearing how NYPD treated the 13 year old, I hope the dad sues the NYPD. Absolutely uncalled for. I feel so bad for that family.
Right? Mass shooters get treated better!
Let's hope so
I hope he does too.
Honestly! I was FLOORED at that part! They best pay for that baby’s therapy
Right? I have a 13 year old son and he is definitely still a CHILD. That was unconscionable and nothing short of cruel.
Plus, the 13 yr old was a minor and should never be questioned without an adult advocate. Not to mention his treatment by NYPD. Shame, shame.
ACAB
Yep! I'm thinking a lawsuit may come out of this. Deservedly.
How utterly bizarre and I’m quite sure illegal.
There was ONE time it was actually a mannequin. I worked at ULTA in a shopping center, and there was a mannequin in our dumpster; everyone thought it was a body. Let’s put that on the record as the one and only time it *was* a mannequin.

My jaw just DROPPED when I heard how the cops treated her 13 year old son! What the heck!

Thank you!
I’m so sorry this happened
@@StephanieHarlowe Thank you for what you do and your kind words!

@@whitneyrambel5551 I think that you are missing the point about adultery. I do not think that she "had it coming" at all. I think that she shouldn't have gotten that involved. It can only eat away at a once-solid relationship, and the fall-out is long lasting. I am glad for you if you have never had to deal with infidelity in your young life, b/c it can follow you into your adult life. i’ve noticed that “if i can’t have her no one else will” mentality also applies to children a lot of the

Unfortunately yeah, just like at the case with Susan Powell and her children. Her awful husband killed her and then burned their own children alive just to make sure her parents didn't get custody of them. That's one of the most heartbreaking cases I've ever watched too

Thank you, Stephanie! We all make mistakes! No one deserves to die! Especially in these horrific ways!
Stephanie, your ending comments…every woman, well everyone, should be taught these things about ourselves and relationships. Thank you.
Very true ,I was very badly abused by a guy. He hit me in front of the kids ,gaslighted me so much I went basically crazy and doubted every decision. I will NEVER have another relationship. He even abused my kids and parents by telling them my secrets and even made stuff up about me to my kids to hurt me. He's in prison now away from women and kids . Gets me that an evil guy is alive yet the father of my sons is dead... I hate life ,its so hard. Got with him after he died and he treated me like he hated me, I was so brainwashed by him tho... pure evil. He was in care as a kid for threatening to kill his mum and brother in there sleep and setting everything on fire! He was on anti psychotics at 10 years old and he went to prison for trying to kill his ex! I knew nothing of this till after he destroyed me , its so wrong !he told everyone I was the crazy one and that I made it all up !
Very true, hopefully she will see this comment and like it
Absolutely adored the end part of this! Let these people have it. I love seeing them being called out. Thank you for caring about the victims and their families.
When my 7yr old cousin and her 10 yr old friend were discovered in a Kmart trash bin, the guy who found them thought they were mannequins too. I truly believe that we can't fathom that they could actually be human remains, so our first instinct is to hope to God, they are indeed mannequins. Traumatic experience.
Oh my GOD. I'm so sorry for ur tragic loss 😔
I’m so sorry for what some monster did to your cousin and her friend! Praying for peace for your family! such a tragic loss!
I am so sorry that you've had to deal with a loss like that. The loss itself is bad enough but to know your loved one was disposed in that manner has to compound that pain.
I'm so sorry, what happened? That's terrible.
“With all due respect, fuck you” 😂😂 obviously very little respect is due and I absolutely agree. Love how human you are
Just a little note: I'd like to point out that her name should be pronounced a little differently. I am Hungarian and our language can be tricky sometimes, especially when it comes to names. :)
Orsolya is pronounced "Or-show-yuh". There is an "á" in her last name, which is officially Gaál, and is a common Hungarian surname pronounced like "Gah-uh-l".
By the way, I've been watching you for a while now and it makes me happy to see you cover this case because it deserves the attention.
I heard it pronounced so many different ways, I had to settle on the way I heard it pronounced the most
@@StephanieHarlowe The way you pronounced it sounded beautiful though!
What a beautiful name, I appreciate the pronunciation notes in the comments here because I too have heard it pronounced many ways now.
It seems superfluous about how her name is pronounced in Hungarian when a woman has been murdered and left 2 children behind!
@@lilianak.9037 I always appreciate it when we can get an accurate pronunciation from someone who speaks the language, and the way you brought it up was so kind and classy. I appreciate you!
Preach on sis! Couldn’t have said it better myself. You’re truly a genuine advocate for the victims and their families…. THAT is what true crime is supposed to be about- thanks for setting the bar!!
Her husband is the victim
As a Hungarian, thank you so much for covering this case! Great as always
Good job Stephanie. I’m so happy to hear you calling out the ignorant comments of these people who somehow think their words are not horrible and disgusting. We all make bad decisions all the time and never deserve to die for them.
Seriously - affairs aren't even crimes, much less something that should be punished with the death penalty.
speak for yourself, because we definitely do not all make equally bad decisions. most people aren't having multiple affairs while married to someone who pays their way in life, most of us aren't being passed around the city like a box of tissues when we are supposed to be stay at home moms. most of us aren't letting dangerous men into the home we share with our husband and children. not all bad decisions are created equal. stop enabling and justifying her disgusting behavior. dying doesn't mean you are suddenly devoid of accountability.
@@Hawther yeah, affairs are actually worse than a lot of crimes. cheating on your partner who is emotionally invested in you is worse than stealing a pair of pants from a department store, even though one is a crime and one isn't. good to see you sticking up for such bad behavior though! I'm sure you'll feel the same when you are inevitably cheated on. and its worse than stealing from the store bc you don't owe anything to the store, the store isn't going to be emotionally damaged and have trust issues because of what you did. scale is important. you're ruining your partner and child's lives when you selfishly choose to have an affair. the emotional toll that takes on others is much worse than low level crime. quit virtue signalling.
@@barbrothers2 how the hell did you get "sticking up for cheating" from me saying people shouldn't be killed for cheating? Sorry someone apparently hurt you but it is absolutely batshit to think the consequence of cheating should be getting murdered.
People also forget that marrying someone does not equal owning them. I've never cheated on anyone and 99.999% probably never ever will but no one can tell another person what to do with their own body and heart, and we should feel grateful for those who share or life and love us. (I'm married, with the same man for 10 years and hyper loyal. But independent and I love and value very much my freedom as an individual)
I love that you called out the insensitive, righteous a-holes who leave comments like the ones you featured. I CANT STAND TO READ THEM!! So thank you for speaking to the wide audience you reach- I often wish I could & its so needed!
PREACH!!! I was literally clapping my hands when you called out these people for victim shaming!!! You are the voice of reason here and I found thier comments ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! Thank you for standing up for a [MURDER VICTIM!] BRAVO
I want to echo everyone else's questions here: Have they actually confirmed that an affair even took place, through means other than David's own mouth? It's very sus, especially with the claims of an STI and claims that he was furious at her because she "took a phone call from another man." Like bitch you think you got here first??? She's married! With kids!
With the way he creeped on women he didn't know at that Starbucks, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy made up the whole thing.
Agreed! Something about the story just never really seemed 100% legitimate.
I'm with you on this one.
I thought the same thing.
@@albigensiac3206 or even just male friends. I'm married and i have a ton of guys friends with whom i text, talk on the phone, send postcards and write letters to. I am married, have never cheated in my life and never will. Some of these mean may call me "dear", sweetie, make a compliment or we'll say 'love you" in the friend way. I have been with the same man for 10 years and that's the person i'll be with until i die. It just happens that my social life does not revolve entirely around my husband and other women only. I can't believe some peoplr don't grasp that in 2022 😄 AND if she was having an affair... So what. Every person is free. You don't "own" someone by marrying them. May each live with their own values and choices. But in that case it feels like the killer suffered from erotomania.
Was she ever tested for HIV? Was he? That’s stuck in my head, it’s a pretty heavy accusation and you think they would have followed it up.
Thank you for fighting for the honour and respect of these victims, Stephanie. I always appreciate how hard you go, though I never wish for you to stress out and feel the fatigue that comes with standing up to unkindness. I appreciate you, and hope you get to rest soon
This video reinforces to me why Stephanie is my favorite true crime storyteller hands down. I love that she waited for the details of the case to come out and was able to do a pretty thorough job of conveying what happened! I have been defending the 13 year old son online for weeks because armchair detectives are just convinced that this poor, traumatized kids was guilty in the court of public opinion. So glad that Stephanie has the wisdom and empathy to consider see how awful it is to treat a child as a suspect.
Every time I see that you posted it makes my day. Truly your story telling and detail and understanding of the cases takes me away from my anxiety and allows me to be fully immersed in these cases and find ways that I can mobilize and help make a change in these cases whenever possible. I’m so grateful for you and your hard work, Stephanie. As always, thank you for everything.
Great said! I feel exact same way.🤗
THANK YOU Stephanie for saying victim blaming in any form is not ok and should not be tolerated!!! When I got attacked in my own backyard by a stranger so many people asked me things like “well what were you doing?” “How did you not hear him come up behind you?” And comments like “that’s why I always pay attention to my surroundings” and those comments though minor stuck with me and made me feel a level of guilt. I know it is human nature and due to fear it could happen to them but victim blaming is never ever alright to do.
Thank you for bringing awareness to these tragedies. You’re the voice of the victims that lives were stolen. I love your videos.
Also, congratulations on 700k!! 🥳
Thank you, Hannah!
Congrats on 700k Stephanie!

We need a timestamp so we know when the story is over and it's Stephanie power hour lol
I totally agree with her point though! It's so easy to be critical in hindsight. I think victim blaming makes people feel safer. "If I never cheat, if I never open the door to my ex, if I never walk alone, I'll never get murdered". It's just not that easy.
Turn the coffee grinder upside down and the lid is actually the cup to use to load the grounds into your coffee maker. Then you're not dealing with a bulky machine attached to a cord. Took me a while before I realized that myself. 😂

I love how you put it. Very straight up. We don't know if she had an affair with this creepy could just be one of those people that thinks he was in a relationship with her because he was obsessed with her and she never did anything with him she was just her handyman just some obsessed freak we don't know we were not there so we need to give her the benefit of doubt ...it really upsets me that people try to victim-blaming. I'm trying to ruin people's reputation. It's not okay she is not to blame for any of this . And I love how you represented her and I love how you stuck up for her she needs somebody in her corner even if she is dead and gone she still was a person she still a mother a wife somebody's daughter and there is no need to ruin her reputation for this creep that ruined her life.
there’s a case that i’ve never seen covered and it’s the case of megan lancaster, in portsmouth ohio. she was very young and everyone here thinks that mike merran killed her, which was a very well-known lawyer who was involved in the sex-trafficking ring. it’s very interesting and i think it really needs some coverage. she’s been missing since 2013 and her sister has just been recently found dead…
John Lordon has a true crime channel called LordonArts and he focuses on missing people with a series called Searchlight. I hope Stephanie doesn't mind me recommending him although I doubt she would, John has a different format. Anyway, he accepts requests submitted to him so, I think he would be a good person to contact about Megan's case.

Calling them out in a hostile way like that is not going to change their minds, so I'm not sure what good that is doing. I feel like it's just leading people to go bully the commenter.

Honestly, how do they even know for a fact that they were in a relationship? This dude totally seems like the type who would create this fantasy in his head and then when it wasn't reciprocated create some wild reason he felt the need to kill her. Either way, this whole story is just so sad. Her poor boys, my heart breaks for them.
I agree, he was crazy as a bedbug
I'm not buying the affair bit without evidence. The guy was delusional. And I highly doubt she invited him down to the basement.
@@MK-pt9zt I agree he is a bona-fide nut case, maybe filtration. Also don't believe she had four guys on a string. Not buying it.
I was thinking the same thing. Was there actually an affair or did he fabricate it and claim her? ….
That’s exactly what I was thinking! 🤔
i thought the same thing, i wonder how much of this "two year relationship" was actually confirmed....he sounds more like a delusional stalker than a jilted lover
But what about the other 3 men or so that she was texting in just that one evening... sounds like she was having more than 1 affair.

Preach sistah! Something about murder that isnt much discussed is how murder ends up exposing everyone's secrets and private life. The collateral damage of everything being exposed to the public and to a victim's extended family and community can be devastating to the survivors.
And add in the media trying to create perfect headlines….smdh
@@sharyebethancourt3660 Mhmm. I wish I could like this twice. “Beautiful blonde woman undone by lust” sells a lot more papers than “psychopath murders woman he allegedly had an affair with.” My cousin was beaten half to death during a robbery, he has permanent and severe brain damage and evidence suggests he was beaten somewhere else, dumped in front of his house and left for dead. The papers chose to highlight his arrest for marijuana possession 15 years prior instead of giving any useful information. Infuriating.
