Note that under Music app menu dropdown, Preferences is now called Settings as of today's date, but otherwise, this works as instructed. Very simple. Easy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I have been tribulation for hours trying to convert a voice memo from M4A to MP3. You alone showed me how to do it. You have saved my sanity. I am subscribing.
Drag the file into iTunes (music) > have audio file highlighted > go to preferences > go to Files > go to import settings > change setting "import using MP3 Encoder" > click Ok .. Click Ok > select file > hit file on menu bar > convert > Create MP3 Version
Thank you, this was so helpful!

Hi Bro
Error showing while convert file "could not be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats".
Drag the file into iTunes (music) > have audio file highlighted > go to preferences > go to Files > go to import settings > change setting "import using MP3 Encoder" > click Ok .. Click Ok > select file > hit file on menu bar > convert > Create MP3 Version
It doesn't have the option of preferences under music tab... now what ?
Preferences will be shown as Settings. Check it.
That didn't work for me! ?????
