Perfect! I had gone into Preferences, changed Import to MP3 etc., & still hadn't worked, Apple has made it one step more convoluted than necessary. Many Thanks.

For some reason, the iTunes on my iMac, just will not allow me to import my AAC music files. I don't know what the problem is.

Thanks, would be great if Apple would allow conversion! I tried this today Jan 2023 and when I went to convert to MP3 all options were greyed out. It’s music I’ve purchased from iTunes is this why? Very frustrating that I am unable to do what I choose when I’ve bought music. But thanks for your information good to see it’s worked for other people. 🙂

Be sure to download the file first using the down arrow next to the song title in the Music app. You should now see the Convert to MP3 option.

Yes you can. You have to first download all the songs to your computer (right click song and click download. Can select all and click download to download all music to the computer at the same time). Now it’s on the computer and you should be able to convert 😊

@@AngelMorales-ob1ow I thought the advice I gave woulda worked, but tbh it didn’t even work for me after saying that smh I was going by what others said …I think it’s a wrap. I think there’s converter sites out there but I wouldn’t trust them cause “technically” it’s illegal to convert protected files, and those sites be having viruses. I think we have to take this L….apple sucks!
