yessss peach audio. I'm using the Zoom H1 now for indoor/stationairy stuff. I'm obsessed with it, it's so loud with talking, but dead quite with background noise. I use the Rode SmartLav+ when I'm out. It's also great! (and affordable).
This was the most real and relatable "Tips for UA-camrs" video I have seen. I feel like your advice was solid and unique and it will benefit so many new vloggers. Nicely done :)
Hi Raya, thank you for sharing your tips!!! They're extremely helpful for me, as my husband and I are starting our website and youtube channel to record our travel and life stories for family and friends around the world. I feel much more encouraged to make some vlog very soon after watching yours. We love Louis' videos and now we are very happy to follow you guys' adventures, because we can feel much more relevant with both of you. Actually I was almost cry to see the animals in your background. South Africa was one of the most beautiful memories we have had. I dearly miss going for a safari, or just listening to the sound of the birds in early mornings. My husband has been travelling to over 40 countries for 8 years now, and we keep our life-style as a way to connect people even after getting married. I'm from Vietnam and he's an American, we are very proud of having such wonderful people around wherever we go. After living in Vietnam, Mozambique, and now we are in Laos, we hope someday we can meet up with you guys. We just made some videos from our Myanmar trip @The Art of Assimilating. I realised that it's true we need to change the way we look at UA-cam and be better at making the audio and to be not too harsh on ourselves. Anyways, thanks for reading my comment. It would be a huge pleasure to reach to you guys !!! Happy new year and happy for you both on the new chapter of life!
Omg you totally hit the tip on the head re: camera being best friend! I've just realised why certain videos of mine have been the best. Because I haven't been with my wife at the time and I've been thinking I'm telling her about my trip. My best videos (in terms of me actually vlogging) were from my Vietnam trip alone
YOU GAVE SUCH WONDERFUL TIPS WOW. Im very passionate about creating and capturing my adventures/travels on film. I've been some sort of creative block for a short while now and these tips honestly helped me realize so much. This was soo helpful and i probably came up with at least 5 great ideas while watching this, so thank you! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Great tips :) I can get nervous vlogging in public sometimes. The worst thing that happened is someone asked if they could take a picture for my husband and I. We both had a laugh lol Thank you for making this video!
+Josh and Kali | The Freedom Theory Haha that happens to me and Louis all the time too! And then when we politely say no and keep talking into our cameras they're probably like "What is happening..." hahah
This girl is 100% honest and has such a kind heart for sharing these tips. It can be noticed that she is not someone who wants to success alone... Thanks girl!! You're awesome!! (Y)
I didn't watch this straight away because I thought this might be another generic YT video tips video, but these tips were ACTUALLY practical and useful and totally on the level that I needed. I feel like a lot of the worries/thoughts you have about your videos are similar to mine (I'm SUCH a perfectionist!). But you're right, it's all a journey :) safe travels! x
These are some great tips! I've seen a few of these videos in the past, but they were all pretty much the same. I love that your tips were slightly different and so informative! X
Love how you said at the end to be yourself, stay true to what you're passionate about and to keep creating content and keep growing. So much positivity! No wonder you're doing amazingly well on UA-cam! Cheers!
I just wanted to say thank you. This video helped me so much.. I've been wanting to travel, and make travel videos for YEARS, and I finally got the courage to do so.. it's not the best, but like you said, you have to start somewhere! I recently went to South Africa (my first time ever leaving America) to see my fiance & meet his family for the first time.. I filmed a lot while I was there, edited it, and finally posted it yesterday. I'm just so proud of myself for finally getting around to doing what I've been wanting to do for years. Your life is an inspiration for me, so thank you!
I completely agree with watching videos to get better and learn new ways of editing and making videos, and also finding songs is very difficult but this tip really helps thanks👍🏼
Being comfortable on camera is one thing I am trying to work on!! I'm really excited to get my youtube channel going!!! Thanks Raya, this was very helpful!!!!
I've watched soooooo many vids on hints and tips, kinder tired or watching people splash out the equivalent of a month wages on the latest cam tech and smashing it like it didn't matter and so on.... BUT this video has to be the single most effective, no nonsense, helpful hints and tips video about vlogging on youtube!!! Absolutely fantastic!!!! Thank you
I appreciate the Tips. Ive been doing daily vlogs for three months now and I am glad I upload daily because I can definitely see the progress I've made. You can only get better with practice!
Thank you for the tips Raya! I totally agree with you - starting UA-cam with the mindset that "I will do this to earn money" is so wrong. A lot of people have misconceptions about UA-camrs and they do not know what it's like to be one. I started vlogging 5 months ago, because I wanted to have memories from my adventures. I've not really promoted my channel at all and just been doing it to see whether I like it. Turns out I fricken love it haha! Love getting the feedback and creating little videos. You're right about the equipment as well, I started just with an iPhone and it worked well. Now I'm starting to think that this could be something I want to pursue, but of course it'll take time, I only have like 250 subs haha! But I'm not stressing about that, I'm having fun, it's my new and favourite hobby :)
I think this is my favourite youtuber tips video - super super helpful! Thanks for being so open! :) I've been looking for info on how to use soundcloud music for ages and finally you've explained it so well! Thank you so much Raya!
Thank you for the tips!!!!! I forgot to tell you that the video of "beautiful new Zealand Road Trip" it was very very beatiful. Congratulations. Greetings from Málaga.
Such good advice! I've just filmed one of my first videos in public and I felt like a right idiot but just kept thinking what you said to get through it ahaha, thank you! :) keep making amazing videos!
Love this! Thank you for all the tips. I love you saying not to be too hard on ourselves at the beginning.... it's so huge! I guess this is mostly what separates "doers" from "talkers" - allowing ourselves to be *not perfect* at the beginning.
I always find it easier vlogging in public when I am with a few other friends. People don't think you are so weird if the group around you accepts it. Plus it makes the video more versatile and entertaining when you can bounce of your friends energy and their input.
This was a great video Raya and very helpful tips. I actually really learned a lot through Louis and Casey about editing 😄 My filming is getting better day by day but it all takes practice and time. Thank you 😄
Great, great, useful information, Raya! This is stuff I've been wondering about for years. Particularly dealing with brands who don't understand Vlogging, and social networking. People reinventing the medium by making Vlog-mercials, or doing a short travel film/vlog with BMW, like Ben just did, which is a brilliant approach to using the product for the entire vlog and bringing in a less invasive form of marketing and advertising. It helps vloggers and their supporters-brands, invent a whole new marketing approach. All these brands need to realize this when you negotiate a fee. And, I always wondered how difficult it was to find non trademarked music. Alot of vloggers use that chipmunk sounding song alot, they use that Latin sounding song too much, etc. So viewers can tell how hard people are working to get good music. But Soundcloud?? I didn't know you could pull non copywritten tracks off of Soundcloud. Nice heads up, Raya! Thanks, your vlogs have gotten so proffesh.
Really good tips Raya. I totally forgot about SoundClound. Must scope that out. I try not to look back at my very first channel, I just cringe!! lol. You really have come a long way and your videos just get better as your confidence grows :) x
This video is exactly what I've been looking for Raya! I'm so scared to get in front of the camera, but your advice really puts things into perspective and it feels great to know that you've struggled with it too. You're awesome and an inspiration and I love watching your videos :D
That music tip is so incredibly helpful! I have found myself settling for tracks that only sort of fit my video because I struggle so hard. I've been making videos of my biology wilderness field trips and I'm currently editing the 3rd one & looking back I can already see improvement. I never seriously considered it when creators would say, "practice practice practice" but it's so true.
Nothing much new to me here, but it is still very inspiring to get that boost of encouragement that is needed once in a while. Lets you know that youre on a path to something great, and to never give up on things you love! Good job Raya! :)
This is such a great video Raya!! All natural and fresh! I have been watching UA-cam for years, and I might be reconsidering the fact that I would start my own channel someday. 😊 Keep being awesome!
This was great. I started this whole UA-cam thing as mainly a way to keep myself motivated to explore and get better at overall videography etc, and thus far it has been great!!! These tips I'm going to take and implement them into my videos for sure! I really appreciate this video!
+RayaWasHere I love you raya. I have such huge respect for you. Never give up on your dreams. Someday i think you will get the sttention you desserve in the world. You are beautiful and dont let anyone knock you down. Raya was here and will always be here!!!! LOVE YOU😇😀
Thank you so much for the tips! I'm new to creating travel vlogs on youtube & the most difficult thing for me is getting infront of the camera more often & being myself.. Also editing & finding the right music is quite difficult. But I'm confident that I'll continue to improve with time, and your tips will certainly help. Love your channel! :)
This was so incredibly helpful!! I've been kinda on a hiatus from my main channel because I honestly don't feel like those typical comedy youtube videos are for me and I've become so much more passionate about travel vlogging on this channel. It's definitely what I'd rather be making!
This was very sweet and it was actually informative to watch. First video I have watched of yours and you you seem so genuine on camera. Thanks for the tips!
I really like how you got into sponsorship tips. Whenever a UA-camr gives UA-cam advice they tend to stick with the generic stuff you said at the beginning (it's not about the equipment, be passionate, don't be in it for the money). But you went further and gave great advice about something a lot of UA-camrs are scared to talk about. Social Bluebook is pretty cool I've never heard of it before but according to it I'd be able to make around $12/upload :')
The brand deal calculator is really cool, even my tiny youtube channel is worth $10.40 per video. I've already been doing the soundcloud tip but never thought to search by country, very clever. Great video!
Awesome tips :) just came here from watching your more recent youtuber tips video. Really appreciate these original ideas and all your hard work that goes into making beautiful content! 💙
This is so great, Raya!! So glad you didn't start making make-up and fashion videos actually!! :D To see the things you are really passionate about is much better!!! :) Wish you and everyone who's watching a great day!! :)
Raya you're so sweet! I upload travel videos too and I totally agree that most of my learning and video editing knowledge is from watching SO many UA-camrs. I really don't even watch TV, its all UA-cam! Thanks for sharing and I keep putting my content out there in hopes it inspires wanderlust :) As Louis says, live the adventure!
the music tip might be the most valuable. that's definitely one of the hardest/most frustrating things to find for videos. but its great when you find the right music
This was so helpful. I am new to UA-cam so I definitely needed this. I am doing my channel on health and fitness/ lifestyle! I don’t have a ton of videos but you are right about continuing to post I already am feeling less uncomfortable and I feel like my videos have grown. Thanks so much 🖤
You are so awesome for making this video, it helps out so much. so grateful you made this to help out people starting out bc it is very hard getting started. thanks so much.
Really awesome advice! I especially like the one about the equipment.... I think people tend to focus on trying to use the best equipment when the viewers really care about the content, not the image quality! and OMG! Music is so the hardest! It drives me nuts :P Thanks for posting :) Really helpful!
Thanks for the tips Raya! I started youtube a few years a go as a way of sharing my videos with friends and family. I kind of got addicted to making movies of travels and sharing my experiences with other people, so your tips will come in handy ;) Keep up the good work & maybe I will see you in Amsterdam one day. Groetjes uit Nederland
You should make a video about how you pack for your travels. Interested in how you pack minimally yet have everything you'll need for the trip.
I second this!!
Actually I think she has a video about this on her channel already that I missed.
+fr33tobem3 YUSSSSS

This is the realest video out there. Raya isn't trying to sell anything, just complete honesty and helpfulness! Thank you for this!
This is good because the advice is so ORIGINAL. Usually these types of videos, people just repeat what someone else has already said!
+HipHopHippie Thanks!
Getting comfortable in front of the camera definitely takes time. I love the idea of just pretending you're talking to a friend. Great advice!
this was so helpful - thank you so much for making this!
You are so real, polite and humble. That's what I like about you.💖💖
You are a truly inspiring lady 🌞🌞🌞 Thank you Raya!

Perfect tips ! Thank you so much Raya !
yes! creating is a huge hurdle!
This girl is 100% honest and has such a kind heart for sharing these tips. It can be noticed that she is not someone who wants to success alone... Thanks girl!! You're awesome!! (Y)
This is by far the most helpful video I have watch regarding this topic! Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts and idas! :)
I didn't watch this straight away because I thought this might be another generic YT video tips video, but these tips were ACTUALLY practical and useful and totally on the level that I needed.

It's good to be reminded that you experienced youtubers dealt with the same struggles us newbies are dealing with. Great video.

Thank you for these tips Raya. I love your channel! ❤
I love this Raya! It's super helpful, especially about the music. It takes me forever to find ANYTHING I like

Aaah yes I love the beginning of this video! 'Ooh.. my.. gosh' is my most favourite sentence since I started watching your videos :)
I always find it easier vlogging in public when I am with a few other friends. People don't think you are so weird if the group around you accepts it. Plus it makes the video more versatile and entertaining when you can bounce of your friends energy and their input.
Great tips Raya! The audio in my latest vid was recorded with just an older iPhone5 :)
u r so genuine & thanks a ton for the tips xx

Keep being awesome!
so many good tips! love your down to earth, real attitude!!! you go girl xx
This was great. I started this whole UA-cam thing as mainly a way to keep myself motivated to explore and get better at overall videography etc, and thus far it has been great!!! These tips I'm going to take and implement them into my videos for sure!

This was so encouraging! It's definitely given me the boost I need to get back to creating videos.
+Madison Gebhard Yay! Definitely keep creating :)
+Madison Gebhard same here!! sending love and good vibes over :)!!
I would love a second part of this vid! And I'm still waiting for your instagram tips!^^
Thanks for the tips!! You are definitely one of my favorite youtubers! Love and hugs from Vancouver Canada!
Awesome tips :) just came here from watching your more recent youtuber tips video. Really appreciate these original ideas and all your hard work that goes into making beautiful content! 💙
Thank you for these really helpful tips! The last three are my favorite
Probably the most helpful tips and advise for UA-cam I've watched! :) your awesome
thank you sooo much!! i feel so much better after watching this video!! i am a new time creator and your words are exactly what I needed to hear!!
This is so great, Raya!! So glad you didn't start making make-up and fashion videos actually!! :D To see the things you are really passionate about is much better!!! :)
Wish you and everyone who's watching a great day!! :)
Thank you! This was really awesome and informational:)
great tips! I love the best friend one. And the music one. And all of them. :)
30 minutes? Girl, I watch youtube for like 5 straight hours😂 than again, I have an addiction. What can I say.
Great tips💕
Raya you're so sweet! I upload travel videos too and I totally agree that most of my learning and video editing knowledge is from watching SO many UA-camrs. I really don't even watch TV, its all UA-cam! Thanks for sharing and I keep putting my content out there in hopes it inspires wanderlust :) As Louis says, live the adventure!
the music tip might be the most valuable. that's definitely one of the hardest/most frustrating things to find for videos. but its great when you find the right music
Thank you so much for this video ! I really liked the tip about thinking of the camera as your best friend !
this was one of the most useful vlog i've ever seen. thank you so much for being such a great inspiration and a guide!
This is probably the best "UA-cam Tips" video ever!
+Vanessa Elisabeth Thank you!!
This was so helpful. I am new to UA-cam so I definitely needed this. I am doing my channel on health and fitness/ lifestyle! I don’t have a ton of videos but you are right about continuing to post I already am feeling less uncomfortable and I feel like my videos have grown. Thanks so much 🖤
Great tips babe :) Love that you stuck to your passion and haven't diverted from that. xx
You are so awesome for making this video, it helps out so much. so grateful you made this to help out people starting out bc it is very hard getting started. thanks so much.
Thank you for the tips Raya! I'm just starting my own UA-cam channel! Love your positive attitude! Have a great day!
Great advise Raya so good for you to help us new UA-camrs with your experience and knowledge
Really awesome advice! I especially like the one about the equipment.... I think people tend to focus on trying to use the best equipment when the viewers really care about the content, not the image quality! and OMG! Music is so the hardest! It drives me nuts :P
Thanks for posting :) Really helpful!
Such great tips! I'm planning on vlogging this weekend so I am going to put your 'talking to your best friend' tip to good use!
Your tip about soundcloud is life changing. Thank you!
It's always about the content. That is the key for a great channel!
Raya thank you for up loading, You have inspired me. I have so many questions. Thank you for your tips
