Drinking some Kentucky Spirit for the first time while watching this and I'm blown away. After hearing about their employee retention I may never drink anything else. Hopefully I will be able to find some rare breed soon but my next bottle will be Russels single barrel.
WT is a cornerstone in Kentucky bourbon! They bottle 4-5 labels, it’s all the same bourbon just aged different! So many companies are ripping people off with their fancy bottles and labels, and the whiskey is made in Indiana and different states! I like the Russels 10 as much as any bourbon I’ve tried!
Russell reserve 10 year old is my hands down absolute favorite burbon, and I've had the immense pleasure of sampling some of the most rare and "expensive" Bourbons ever produced (not trying to brag just adding context). I sometimes wonder if I'm somehow related to the Russel family because I almost feel like they are producing burbon that has been fine tuned for my pallet. Bravo good Sir, please keep it up!!
Man I feel the same way. There’s this indescribable spice/funk that they get to come out that makes it distinct. You can still sense a little bit of that cornbread flavor in it but covered with vanilla frosting and fruit jam. A beautiful thing
Buy as much Wild Turkey and Russel's Reserve as you can because this legend isn't going to live forever. We're lucky to be alive at the same time as Jimmy Russel : ) It won't be the same when he passes. Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Evan williams I would argue all taste as good as Wild Turkey but something about Wild Turkey just draws me in and keeps me coming back for more. It's just true and genuine, old school, classy, elegant, delicious and consistent.
When Austin Nichols sold Wild Turkey to Campari, Campari raised the barrel entry proof from 107 to 115, and Wild Turkey began chill filtering whiskey in the 1990s, so not everything has remained the same.
Ive really grown to love all of the wild Turkey products. With Russell's 10 being my favorite. Solid products I dont think they would ever release a bad product .. and honestly most of their stuff is way better than more expensive sourced bourbons that these small "craft" distillers are selling.
If I could only get a tablespoon of yeast from Jimmy's refrigerator stash lol. I don't understand why so many people under estimate Wild Turkey, it's so tasty and smooth!
I could listen to Jimmy talk all day. Love wild turkey.
A great interview with Mr. Jimmy.
Once in a while you have the privilege of seeing genius .Thanks for posting this.
Very informative and entertaining presentation. Jimmy Russell is a legend in the bourbon industry.
wish I could like this 50 times, love listening to it over a glass
Thank you for doing this in front of a live audience.
Genuine, humble come to mind. Fascinating guy.

Sadly I can't find that in my area, I'd love to try it tho. The only thing I can get my hands on is the original wild turkey, WT 101, and Long Branch.

Such an amazing individual. Such an amazing whiskey.
Wow such an interesting interview!
This was really great...what an art form and the generational aspect of the art is where it's at.

None of those are as good as Wild Turkey 101
