Regarding the clock question: old clocks had to be wound so the fact that all the clocks were all stopped likely meant that the men disappeared well before their disappearance was investigated.
The interaction between Ryan and Shane is comedic gold, they talk about murdering each other like it’s an everyday conversation about what’s for lunch lmao
Fun fact: at the end of hypothermia, people feel hot because your body burns up all of its store of glucose in a last ditch attempt to make you feel warm, so if you ever end up in a hypothermic condition, do not take all of your clothes off as they would help keep you warm.

The song My Grandfather's Clock, where the clock stopped forever when the old man died is about a wind-up clock. It stopped when the owner died because he wasn't winding it anymore. In the song, the clock stopping seemed like it was predicting the man's death, but in real life, things like that used to happen because antique clocks sometimes had a trick to winding them properly, and if you didn't know the clock's peculiarities, you couldn't wind it and keep it working, so the old man's relatives were unable to wind the clock again after it stopped.
Exactly. And this helped contribute to the long-running association we have of a stopped clock being associated with the end of a life, whether a mysterious murder or otherwise.
10:35- 11:01 Yep nothing has changed their still talking about murdering each other then go off on a random tangent and this time it was about tongues 😂😂 gotta love the ghoul boys
Hey guys! My roommate literally got a wind-up clock from 1923 two weeks ago; the wind lasts about 12 hours the way he did it which means that winding the clocks would likely be a daily ritual. “Ope, it’s clock-winding time!” and then they go around and wind up all the clocks in the lighthouse

I think it’s just that the animation cost may have gotten too high the more elaborate it got? But they didn’t want to give such a “mundane” answer, but they also didn’t want to make it sound like it was someone’s fault.
clock stopping is a common occurrence in abductions, but the most likely explanation was that they needed to be wound every few weeks and the men were gone so they didn't get wound. I would wind all the clocks at once so I wouldn't have to do it again until it was time so the fact that all the clocks stopped to me isn't that big of a deal
@@bummm7065 I'm talking about alien abductions, time loss is a common phenomenon experienced reportedly. I think the idea is that something in the craft would interfere with the clock's internal mechanisms. In my laboratory the clocks stop working every once in a while or slow down because the inside of the building has copper in it (its an older building) and the copper drains the batteries in the clocks faster. Now during this time there weren't battery operated clocks, but if they had metal components or used quartz to keep time that could be an "explanation". Quartz resonates at specific frequencies and the idea behind alien craft (this is all speculation of course) is that thy might operate at a different frequency, that's why some reports are silent crafts. Other ideas are that there could be a surge of radiation/electricity coming from the craft that interferes with clock function. Given that they're old clocks if it was a symptom of abduction (which I still think my clock winding lemma was the most realistic one, Occam's razor and all) that maybe the metallics of the craft interfered with the springs or cogs. One last idea is that some people believe that some aliens exist in planes of reality offset from our own and can travel freely between the two, causing distortions in time and space. Hence time loss or clocks stopping. It depends on how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go. Really I just think its that no one wound then for two weeks, lol
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the subtitles on both your BUN and Watcher videos. It means a lot to me that y'all put in the effort to make your content accessible. #reeder

Nobody addressed it because the proper pronunciation seems to be fought upon lol
clock stopping is a common occurrence in abductions, but the most likely explanation was that they needed to be wound every few weeks and the men were gone so they didn't get wound. I would wind all the clocks at once so I wouldn't have to do it again until it was time so the fact that all the clocks stopped to me isn't that big of a deal
That makes a lot of sense
why is it a common occurrence in abductions? Im curious
@@dad_patrol that's interesting, I dont understand some of it but I appreciate the time into typing all of this lol
@@bummm7065 its okay lol
Okay but why am I just now finding out Ryan’s shirt is legit merch? I’m tempted to blow $35 on a DB Cooper shirt.
From where??
@@CyclingUrchin If you scroll through shop buzzfeed (their merch store is always linked below the video) you can find it!
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the subtitles on both your BUN and Watcher videos. It means a lot to me that y'all put in the effort to make your content accessible. #reeder
What does BUN mean?

@@siddu4960 Thank you! I’ve been wondering forever! 😊
PREACH. I wish more would do the same
This!!
these guys go together like peanut butter and jelly.. Love Ryan and Shane!!!!!
As someone from Australia who's never heard of squirt, I must say I am highly intrigued...
Shane zoning out in Post Mortem vs Ryan zoning out in Watcher Weekly.
Who wins?
it’s a tie
Hey lighthouse light lookout, any sus?
“Naw sorry I was afk”
Y’all should play Phasmophobia!! Then you could actually hunt ghosts!
THATS SUCH A GOOD IDEA OMFGG
PHASMO STREAM WHEN
Omg yesssss
Shots fired
yesssss
I'm totally with Shane on Squirt being the best pop, followed by Ginger Ale (or Beer), and then Root Beer.
even Shane‘s stare in the beginning is back🥺❤️
All of Ryan’s answers are so logical like it’s hard to believe this is the same man who saw toothpaste fall on a boat and got spooked
i just keep imagining shane staring at blank space to his left awkwardly and i can’t take it seriously omg
I keep thinking of when Ryan was doing his crazy thing on watcher and then he "disappeared"
He profile has a poster of Ryan on the wall to pretend that's him there
This isn't a postmortem this is Top 5 Beatdown
Squirt is so damn underrated. Was surprised af when Shane said that
These two are the life force of buzzfeed
Sad they didn't mention The Lighthouse (2019).
I thought this was Keepers (2018)
I AM FRANKLY FURIOUS. HOW HAVE THEY NOT SEEN IT?!?!?! It is RIGHT up Shane's alley!!! He'd be fond o' that lobster, he would!!!!
I felt like they made a couple of references in the original episode but maybe I just thought that cause I had just watched deadmeats episode on the lighthouse.
@@roel3393 I was thinking of that, too. Only, in the U.S., it was called "The Vanishing". I thought that movie presented a theory that was fairly plausible (at least, the core story was, not necessarily the more overly-dramatized parts). But, with everyone raving about "The Lighthouse", that'll probably be my next watch.
Squirt was one of my fave drinks growing up! My aunt always had a case of it near by, and she’d always share. Totally forgot about it before Shane brought it up, and I’m gonna go get some tomorrow.
I love them both! Been watching Unsolved since 2017 ☺️☺️☺️
Is Shane’s background white and gold or black and blue???
Don’t start this again 😭
@@prettynarlypokemontrainer9542 We don't need to start anything because it is so obviously white and gold UNLIKE the black and blue dress
Ryan has finally pulled me over to a being a full-fledged Boogara with his Dr. Pepper support
clearly the watcher should’ve been on lighthouse lookout duty, he’s clearly got some keen peepers and i bet you a million smackeroons that he’d’ve seen what happened to those three
All hail the watcher
All hail the watcher.

Oh my gosh I know this is totally random, but I remember finding the image in your profile picture a couple of years ago on the internet somehow, and possibly being absolutely obsessed with witches and witchcraft. It's a strange thing to tell you, I know, but I just found it a funny coincidence! It's a lovely piece of artwork, isn't it?

I have never needed anything more than I needed a new season..
Shane staring into the abyss when Ryan starts off the show gets me EVERY time lmaoo
shane, you are valid in your love for squirt. squirt is a very good soft drink.
For Supernatural I recommend you guys check out Bachelor's Grove cemetery. It's said to be one of the most haunted cemeteries in the country and it's next door to Shane's hometown. Also should be no issue with Covid since it's all outdoors.
yes! I agree
I love how they casually included a question referring to their other channel. Nice stealth marketing for Watcher, Ghoul Boys! 😉
im actually surprised that that part didnt get edited out 😌
