@@mr.spookms yeah they were, I remember talking to Stephen before a show and asked him about their old stuff, he said they wanted to be like title flight, kinda shitting on it low key, like it was a phase they didn’t like.
this is my first time ever listening to older remo, i had been listening to greatest hits on repeat the past couple months and although that’s one of my favorite albums of all time, i love this more raw form of remo drive
The Owl- Eyes same here. alot of what happened in the emo music ten years ago really turned me off from the whole thing in general. these guys really make me take a second glance at the genre today. they kind of have an alternative advent to them which i enjoy also. i really get the feeling they are just doing what they feel like doing. i dig
It's so good and now I see why, never heard their 2014 demos or 2015 albums until hearing the greatest hits album. Them as well as Pup, Jeff Rosenstock, Tiny moving parts, Front Bottoms. It's all so great :D
I have seen these guys live 5 times when they were playing their greatest hits album. Some of the best nights of my life 100%. Love seeing their old raw style.
Daniel West this comment is almost two years old. crazy seeing how much they've blown up. glad yr digging them, i just hate how they deleted all their old stuff. but, their growth makes me happy.
Magel Sanchez the idea of greatest hits was to stray away from most post pun/new wave/emo stuff and get into more a lighter sound and funnier lyrics. Erik was bored of their old stuff.
This is harsh, but the lyrics of "yer killin me" sound more like a teenager having a whinge about the people around him. Really generic phrases ("we all have problems" "shoulder to cry on") and half of the song is instrumental. Don't get me wrong, I like the fun sound that Remo Drive has right now, but man, there are a lot of sections in the new album that are really generic. If I compare Remo, with other emo bands that also have an up-beat/faster sound, I can't justify liking their music. Algernon, MidWest Penpals and Marietta: all of their lyrics are volatile and compelling. Someone commented on one of Remo's songs about how their music sounds like the inside of a vans store; I couldn't agree more. It's fun, slightly catchy, but it's nothing that you'll spend time thinking about. That's the thing that breaks my heart with Remo, their current music doesn't really mean anything to me. I'm pretty much indifferent to them atm, which is so shit, because emo music should be the aversion to apathy, and here I am saying I don't care for their music.
I think that his old music is sickkkk, but I like the new shit. Accept for Pop Music. And wasn’t a fan of Natural Every Day Fuckragation or some shit. But greatest hits and the breathe in//perfume singles were great
So I just watched an interview where they said they put out an EP but removed it from everywhere because they wanted to change direction and find their own sound. I love their new album, but I really want to hear this EP. Is there anyone out there that might have it? If any of you guys have it send me a PM.
It's called Wait For The Sun. I don't have it, but two of the songs (Diving and Sleepless) are on UA-cam. And I think those videos have the download link.
@@Lucasarrillius no its the drummer they had before Sam his name is Austin they look very similar though and I think its because they were brothers if I remember correctly
I believe Sam was their first drummer in early 2014 and before. The drummer in this video is Austin (I think that's his name) who was on both of the bands split albums and Wait For The Sun EP. Sam rejoined in 2016
Let’s all buy this ep so they eventually do a full circle
damn he was 16 in this

Two years later and they are blowin' up. They're debut album is such a refreshing sound for the genre.

Same. Now I just want their old stuff back on Spotify.
It might just be me, but I prefer this old Remo Drive. These songs are just so much more real and darker than the ones they released in Greatest Hits.
Magel Sanchez the idea of greatest hits was to stray away from most post pun/new wave/emo stuff and get into more a lighter sound and funnier lyrics. Erik was bored of their old stuff.
yer killen me sounds emo asf
AD MAR but the lines "You make me want to start smoking fat ass blunts till I star choking" I mean that's very comedic
Sleepless your right they even put a remaster verison of stay out longer witch is there old emo stuff

Latios Exing the songs on the album sound so dull and over produced compared to GH
