My favorite criticism of the Jeanne sections was something along the lines of "Jeanne is the Vegeta of Bayonetta". Why would Jeanne be sneaking through a military facility instead of just smashing her way to the goal? They should have had Jeanne as another playable character for combat missions, and had Luka, the investigative journalist and normal human dude, do the stealth action!
@@Justitia_Nomen He is an investigative journalist and Eddie Brock from the Venom movie who also is a investigative journalist says it best, it involves following people who don't want to be followed and hiding in plain sight. Not to mention everything we've seen Luka do, again wasted opportunity.
IMO they key difference between Viola and Nero, and why the passing of the torch works for Nero but not Viola, is because DMC lets Nero be cool and he was given two games to flesh out his character. Bayonetta has only given Viola one game (and a very small portion of it at that) and always undermines anything cool she tries to do with dumb slapstick.
@@Oceanandskylinevidss nah I would say Devil may cry 5 sold more because it was around well over a decade longer than bayonetta and more recognizable characters. The budget was up there but honestly the big budget was to be expected. Sadly we won't get gems like that from Capcom anymore or anytime soon. DEI investments have infected the company
This is one of the most in-depth detailed honest reviews of this game covering all little aspects - challenges, mini games etc. and condensed at the same time. Instead of praising the game like the majority did. I expected almost a masterpiece judging from other glaring reviews and was kinda disappointed as a result. This review nails it!
All these universes and not a single lumen sage one that kinda bummed me out. I loved the weapons/demons but I felt there were less minion encounters compared to the previous titles. Overall, I did have fun but it did feel like it was missing that oomph from 2 or 1.
Bayonetta 3 was my most anticipated game since it was announced. The constant wait and leading up to the release. Then I got the game finally and while I enjoyed the combat, the story wasn’t explained properly especially with the ending and the different universes. Things felt convoluted, the Jeanne should have been used in normal combat instead of those side missions. Viola didn’t deserve the ending she got quite yet it’s too soon for her.
Well no it's not, not if you use multiverse theory. And convoluted? It was actually quite a healthy story progression that explained a multiverse assimilation was occurring and Bayonetta was the key to stopping it.
Funnily enough that's the one thing I didn't have a problem with, Luka and Bayonetta have always had a flirty back and fourth, they were clearly set up to be together from the very first game. The problem is the way they reveal who their kid is and how out of nowhere they pass the torch. And it's weird because the kid isn't theirs technically, it's another universe's version of their kid. The passing of the torch did not feel earned at all.
!!SPOILER!! @@tubguinace see that's the thing, at least to me, their chemistry felt about as strong as her's and Rodan. It felt more like her character is just flirty as opposed to "this is a set up for their relationship". You can even unlock Rodan as a weapon his moveset makes it seems like they have more of a reason to be together than the other guy. Bayonetta and Jean is an even stronger argument. I think the major thing I didn't like about the pairing and how it felt forced also relates to why I felt like their multiverse was a letdown was how they presented Viola. Instead of treating her like she was just the daughter of Luka and Bayonetta from another reality they made it seem like she was the daughter of our Bayonetta and Likes which was confusing and kind of dropped the ball. If they did that they could have made a stronger case for Luka and Bayonetta while potentially setting up their relationship for a future game.
Bayonetta had a lot of lgbt support due to personality and shipping and Japan hates america and lgbt because they are perpetually 30 years in the past culturally
@@ataridc I think that's absolute nonsense, people used to criticize Bayonetta as a character designed to satisfy the male gaze. It's not until recently when people have tried to make her into some kind of LGBTQ icon, it's dumb.
@@DrVonBoogie I agree with everything except I do feel Bayo and Luka were being set up from the first game, Luka always had a special interest in Bayonetta, she was as flirty with him as with anyone else but there was definitely chemistry between them. By comparison, Rodin never showed any interest in Bayonetta in that particular way, he's just doing his job around her really. None of the flirting is ever reciprocated to her by Rodin. But yeah, our Bayo and Luka treating Viola as their own was very very weird.
I’ve never been so disappointed with a game I was excited for. The combat was fun but everything around it bummed me out. That ending really soured me on the franchise
One of the most disappointing aspects of this game for me was the enemy designs, the Homunculi are so darn boring, the Angel and Demon designs for the first two games were so creative by comparison, the only design element I find interesting about the Homunculi are the way they spawn, sort of by being made of many human bodies that were gellified. It was one of my favorite aspects of this series so seeing how bland the enemies are in this game was a bummer, and you fight mostly Homunculi the whole game, with angels and demons almost exclusively showing up in some challenge sections. I got hyped in the desert level when demons showed up for a bit, thinking we would start seeing them regularly in the mix of enemies from then on, but no, it was just that small section. Just, everything about the Homunculi and Singularity is so boring and uninspired to me.
True. And even more than the homunculi, the problem with this game is the totally forgettable antagonic character. SPOILERS!! If Bayo ends up dying, let it not be because of some random madman one day decided he wanted to be the king of the multiverse, sheesh. Other than him, his homunculi and the lackluster passing of the mantle (wich didn't bother me a lot, if I'm being honest), the rest of the game seems incredible for me. I had a blast with it to the very end
While I think some of the mechanics surrounding the homunculi were interesting, outside of a few, like the two-headed dragon, the monkey swinging over the lava, and the jellyfish, I liked them more through their gimmicks than their designs. The dragon heads that hide in the sand and jump up were fun to fight, climbing on the heads of one of them as the spider demon was neat, though something that was done better with Iustitia’s tentacled heads in Bayonetta 1. I don’t necessarily think Platinum lost their passion either, I thought the new Bayonetta origins game looked like they really want to show a new wholesome story for Cereza as a little girl. Astral Chain was a phenomenal action game in between Bayonetta 2 and 3 with very unique mechanics that felt simultaneously natural and easy to learn, but took skill to master. Much of their creature designs for that game felt unique, but still Platinum-like and they were built around the various chained legion controls. It’s just that Bayo 3’s homunculi designs don’t feel very Bayonetta-like and they don’t feel like much of a threat. Angels in Bayonetta 1 didn’t feel like threats to Bayonetta herself either, but they weren’t made to be because the story was just Bayonetta hunting angels that got in her way. Their threat came from their scale. I really liked some of the multiverse concepts and multiple Bayonettas, but I hope Platinum handles the homunculi better for Bayo 4.
@@marcel-pb2ul Why they look the way they look wouldn't change my opinion, their designs are boring, I don't find them interesting. I don't care what source they took inspiration from the end result is the same.
I’m curious if I’m the only other one bothered by this: did anyone else find the enemy designs abysmal and incredibly generic? The first 2 games had some phenomenal enemy designs and this one either had weird blue transformer/bug monsters or the same blue power ranger putty patrol knock offs. That was another detractor to my enjoyment of the game.
The person who did the majority of Bayo 1 & 2's enemy designs doesn't work for Platinum anymore, and it shows. I thought Bayo 3 had a few great enemies, but the rest are really generic and non-descript, like overly detailed blobs where you don't even know what to focus on.
Another great review Ms.Pelvic as someone who has only played and owns the first game your quality of content continues to get more and more impressive as time goes on and I openly admit that sometimes I do look to your channel for inspiration. Keep up the amazing work as I'm sure you will continue to post up even more amazing content in 2023.
I did enjoyed it, and I thought it had it’s moments with some welcome features. But something was off that I couldn’t put my finger on. Sprinkles of greatness, but not the strongest.
I was interested to hear your thoughts on this game and I think its okay we have conflicting views on this game. I agree the ending was so out of left field towards the end and the villain was lame asf! But I really liked the open levels and searching for secrets and easter eggs along the way! Plus some of the challenges were fun while some were kinda annoying like having to use the train to kill all enemies in a short time. But I loved my time with this game! Also I'm surprised you didnt talk about the boss in the forth bayonetta reality cuz that so awesome!!!
I can totally accept that Bayonetta 2 is a better game. I loved both games, and really appreciated that Bayonetta 3 had actual interesting cutscenes this time. But the story was a big missed opportunity. They could have done much more crazy things with the multi-verse. I agree with you on ambition, and it needed more time to flesh it out. I agree with you too on what should have been done with the multi universe Bayonetta's, they should have done more with it. Absolutely did not expect to agree with you so much on this review hah. xD I still loved the game though.
Yeah I forced my way through it, and put it back in its switch case and on shelf which means, I’m never playing this again. I have a carry case for games I actually want to reach for and play, and that is limited real estate
Great review, all the problems you have with the game are backed up with things you enjoyed from the previous ones. Also in the comments you go really deep on explaining yourself. Ill look forward to your reviews in the future.
The more time passes, the more the hype dies down. People are finally starting to see the cracks. It had potential but it was definitely rushed. Just the enemies alone leave alot to be desired. If 2 had any noticeable tells in its enemy animations, 3 lacks almost any whatsoever. You will hear the sound of an attack JUST as it's hitting you lmao no light signal, no wind up, no NOTHING xD
I think it's funny when people say it's rushed when the game was being made for almost 8 years. I think the problem wasn't the rush, it was the fact that the original producer of the first 2 games left for another company and countless other people who worked on the first 2 games weren't working on the third game. It's a shame that the game turned out this way but it's not rushed, it's just not good.
Chaos gears that’s triggering Jack from strangers paradise as we speak 😂 but on a serious note amazing work queen pelvic never change keep up the awesome work & hopefully the insane Nintendo fandom don’t go after you too bad but if they do just know your actual viewers appreciate your content

I'm really proud of you for getting through this. You posted several times how little fun you were having, but you're a professional and you powered through to the end. Bravo! I know a lot of people complained about this game, but you're really the only one who gave an objective and subjective review covering the game in its entirety. You didn't dwell on the change of voice actors, and you were the only critic I heard to address the music at all. This is why your opinion is the only one that matters! Good work! This has been a winning year for the quality and number of reviews! You keep getting more skilled as a reviewer, and I hope 2023 is an even better year!!! 😃👍
@@ataridc Well, first of all, I did not play this game. I played the first two, but I have a wife and kids now, so I don't think it's responsible to buy a lot of games. I wish I still could, but a dad in their mid 40s needs to act like one. Second, I know Pelvic didn't enjoy getting through this game. She received it as a gift, so she was obligated to play it. Also, she doesn't like to back down from anything she commits to, and that's admirable. Third, UA-cam can be a lonely place. Sometimes you can put a video out you worked really hard on, and it gets completely ignored. Overall, UA-cam viewership is down. Between TikTok and Twitch stealing their audience and their own draconian censorship, videos that would have gotten thousands of views are now getting hundreds. It can get depressing. I just want to help keep Pelvic motivated, since I know games are a passion of hers, and being able to make some money playing them is a huge help. And finally, and I mean this as politely as possible, you need to watch your mouth, punk. I didn't come in, make a snide comment to you, and upvote my own comment. I keep my insecurities and negativity to myself. I have a lifetime of military and law enforcement experience behind me and could probably pull out your front teeth one by one. You shoot your mouth off in the day and age where people can find out where you live and they're increasingly mentally unstable? Not a good plan. Mike Tyson once said that people are getting entirely too comfortable running their mouth online and not getting hit back. Keep up the stupid comments and it will happen to you. Believe me on that. Now, did you enjoy the game? What specifically did you want to argue differently about Pelvic's review? I'm curious about your opinion, and will listen objectively.
@@NuiYabuko Objective is stating the facts about the game. How it functions, what the gameplay loop is, what kind of objectives it has. How you feel those things work is subjective, or opinion based. Saying a game has 25 levels is objective. Saying all 25 levels suck is subjective. For me, all my police reports are objective, statements of facts. Expert witness testimony in court is subjective, how I felt about what happened. Writing subjective statements on a police report is irresponsible and criminal.
Viola, unfortunately, is a character the company wants you to love but you want them to go away. Not just because she’s not the lead(s) you’re used to, but because she feels forced and the company is making you love them to a failing result. Case in point: Dante from dMc, or in real life John Cena or Roman Reigns from WWE (which my opinion on both wrestlers has changed). I probably will never play a Bayonetta game. This one, while “flashy” in its own way, feels… contrived and trying too hard to appease multiple genre fan bases. Currently watching Jazzyguns play through this, and her commentary and gratuitous swear count has made it interesting. I applaud you for your honesty and your great review. Unlike this game, this wasn’t forced nor did you beat around the bush. Straightforward and to the point. You are amazing and awesome. Keep up the great work.
That was a very thoughtful and balanced review! I've been seeing people rave about Bayo 3, but as a veteran player, it really disappointed me. It reached some great highs in terms of the core combat, but those were overshadowed by the worst lows out of the entire series imo. (P.S. Agreed that Bayo 1 Jeanne was amazing. Unmatched HBIC vibes.)
Thank you so much! You're not alone in feeling disappointed. I really wanted Bayo 3 to knock it out of the park but...it flopped harder than I imagined. I agree the combat was fun! Deserving of 2022 game with best combat! But damn...the storytelling... Oof. (You have great taste!!)
"You tell it like it is"? Because you share her opinion? People should stop acting like there's one opinion that's the undisputed truth, especially just because they agree with it.
Honestly since I anticipated the game for years I am happy someone else can give an objective review. I am sad to hear it but glad you didn't hold back on your review!
Solid review. It's a good thing I never cared about story in most video games so I think Bayonetta 3 is awesome! I didn't understand nor cared about the story of the first 2 so I knew that I wasn't for the third. I play the games for the over the top action and Bayonetta herself.
Any other games that you'd recommend that are similar to the satisfaction you get from Bayonetta series? I just bought immortal fenyx rising but I want something dope like this, the action was awesome
@@1hardyparty I don't play on my playstation anymore to be honest, I hardly have time, so I'm always on the switch :p I thought you were referring to Bayonetta on the switch
@Joy Drip oh I was lol I was wondering if you play PS so I can recommend DMC 5 (Devil May Cry 5) it's the series that gave inspiration to Bayonetta if you haven't heard and 5 is the best one. If you are sticking to Switch. I will say DMC 3, Astral chain and Neir Automata. All very fun on Switch.
Something about the Graphics: they made it so the graphics appeared worse in handheld due to the limitations. The game looks a lot more polished if played on a dock
100% agree with all of this. I'm even in the minority of people more critical of Platinum now after this (tho really Babylon's Fall was clearly a sign to be sure). Hellena has fallen from grace for me, as someone who wish now to know less about her considering what She consider's " Charities". I was Such a superfan of hers before this whole debacle, loving her in Bayo 1 & 2, & the Read Or Die TV anime as Yomiko. Now it's just like Harry Potter to me, something i'm not gonna be as happy to share about now. But still I think Platinum was in the wrong cuz They lied 1st about the reasons for voice change. Hellena didn't have to lie at all, and alot more people would be on her side who happen to share her politics (which I don't), but it still doesn't change that Platinum ALSO Lied. It's just soured what used to be one of my Favourite games of all time 😢
10:11 "I feel like I'm spending more time chasing PU**Y than i am kicking ASS and taking names and i think that's one of my biggest PET peeves." The bars are crazy! Great review!
Exactly, I liked DMC5, but the story was kinda meh. Same here, although I liked the gameplay better than DMC5, the story was also kinda meh, confusing for no reason whatsoever, and even though the relationship between Bayonetta and Luka didn't bother me, nor the ending, the story was... I don't know, just there.
I'm a huge Bayonetta fan. I didn't have an issue with the story. I view Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry storylines the same way. As they're very Japanese anime in style and storytelling and completely different from the western Hollywood style narratives you find in games like, The Last Of Us, Tomb Raider, God Of War, etc. I've seen plenty of over the top anime, that have similar distinct styles and stories. What I do find kind of strange, is that Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 had the same criticism about their stories when they originally released, as far as people, saying the story didn't make any sense or they were bad. Now the feedback have shifted to the storylines being good. I find all of them entertaining and never looked at Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta or Devil May Cry and even No More Heroes storylines as some deep narrative experiences. But more like an entertaining anime. I will say this, and this is my personal opinion. I found Bayonetta 3 story more entertaining than Devil May Cry V story. Something about DMCV story seemed a bit boring to me. But the gameplay in Bayonetta 3 is phenomenal and that's what's most important.
A lot of people don't like Viola. Don't want to see her carry the Bayonetta legacy. I agree with them. But at the same time, the whole story and ending being bad is hyperbole. It's no where near as worse as people are trying to make it and even more so, doesn't make the game bad as a whole. Those are strange statements. A game's gameplay, controls, play mechanics, fun factor, etc., determines how well a game is, not its story. Especially considering there are plenty games without a story or a minimum plot. I remember feeling the same way about Viola, as I felt about Nero in DMC4. I still feel that way. I don't like Nero. Even more so in DMCV, and hate the way he plays. But I love Dante. But I won't write the whole game off because of it. When it's still a great game. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though.
@@Nola504Boi In PelvicGaming defense. She seems to be more of a RPG gamer(noticeably JRPGs). Which are way more story driven and have far deeper narratives, than a character action game. So her preference and views, would be completely different from someone who's a diehard fan of character action games, like Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, etc. It's like asking a diehard fan of First Person Shooters to review a JRPG. Their views on it would be totally different from a JRPG fan.
So fun fact, I just skimmed both of my Bayo 1 and 2 reviews, to see what I said about the story out of curiosity, and while I didn't give much detail I found Bayo 1's stone kinda confusing unless you really did some digging so similar to this one. But twos story I was here for because of how it wrapped up 1's story in a certain regard. So I admit it's totally possible I'm now fondly remembering them because Bayo 3's story felt so... messy. Nola// I really didn't care for Viola. It's true. But I do think how we got to the ending is more trash than the ending itself. I could believe X and X got together easy if they either A. Kept that energy throughout all the Bayo games. Or B. Fleshed out their relationship more. Because it felt so. left. field. It didn't feel earned or rewarding just...okay. Also I agree that this game isn't bad as a whole, I but I do believe it's the worst Bayonetta. Both of you, thanks for watching!! :D
@@PelvicGaming You have great content and I wasn't directing my comment to you, just speaking in general. As someone who's a diehard fan of these games, I've always known the stories to be serviceable and entertaining more than anything. They're very anime. Whether it's Ninja Gaiden, DMC, Bayonetta, No More Heroes, Astral Chain, Metal Gear Rising, etc. They're all over the top and have a distinct type of story telling. These games are not known for deep narrative story telling. Bayonetta story have always been like that. Bayonetta 3 actually has more story telling than the previous Bayonetta games, as it has more dialogue and cutscenes. But that doesn't make it better though. At the end of the day, it's all subjective. But Bayonetta, DMC, and other character action games never had this deep in depth style of stories. I do agree the whole Bayonetta and Luka romance seemed out of place and rushed all of a sudden. But it makes more sense than this delusional Jeanne romance, I been seeing people complain about. As Bayonetta has flirted with Luka and there has been some very seductive teasing scenes with those two in the previous games. Not once in the previous games, did they even hint at Bayonetta and Jeanne in some form of romance. More like childhood friends sisterly love.
I don't care too much for Viola either. I think she's ok and I like her more than Nero. But not a fan of her character design. I don't think Bayonetta 3 is the worst Bayonetta. As they all have their strengths and weaknesses from each other. Now I do think that Bayonetta 1 and 2 are more polished than Bayonetta 3. A lot of that has to do with the developers making and designing the game too ambitious for the Switch's hardware and its noticeable. I kind of wish Nintendo would have waited and released it on the Switch's successor. Bayonetta 2 is my favorite of the trilogy. But Bayonetta 1 and 3 have better combat( they require the most skill). Bayonetta 1 have the best difficulty. As Bayo 2&3 are too easy. Their hard mode, is basically Bayo 1 normal mode. Bayonetta 3 have the best combat design. Bayonetta 2 have the best pacing, cleanest visuals, best bosses (although Bayo 1 have the best final boss), best music, and overall better package. Even though it has the shortest length in the trilogy. Best thing about the Bayonetta series is all 3 games are high quality and critically acclaimed. Can't say the same for other games in the same genre.
I love all 3! Your video was great and I appreciate you laying it all out I had to beat part 1 TWICE since the pacing was awful. Stop to stop go stop go. The cutscenes were painfail in a friggin hack n slash game. Second time around I loved it tho Part 2 I loved quickly, but I think it was the high from part 1 that helped me get through better. Part 3 was great but it DID take me a bit to beat, I put it down a lot. Can’t wait for part 4! Also..can they bring back Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon again? Miss that..
I understand the devs wanting to make the best game they could, but they really should have designed around the limitations of Switch graphics. Viola looks like the sister from Lollipop chainsaw.
I've no opinion on the story yet (because I didn't finish the game) but the rest of this review is sooo on point!! I also hated the parts that have you traversing the stage on the back of a demon (spider etc). It felt like playing a slow Sonic game that controls like ass with pitfalls and everything
Always look forward to your videos. Still haven't picked up Bayo 3, and leaves me skeptical, some of these new directions sound rough. Still picking it up, but Bayo 2 forever
This review describes exactly my experience. Tip: unlock the dash skill for any weapon to help catch the umbrean tears. I’m doing my second playthrough skipping the platforming and Jeanne levels. I also don’t like the extra levels you unlock by catching the tears. To my taste this game has far too less action and spectacular set pieces than the previous two games.
I don't really play Bayo much for the story but yeah 3 had the worst story especially on how its told. I do like the characters & in 3 they are far more cutscenes than still images unlike 1 & 2. The combat itself is pretty good but nowhere near as fun as 1 & 2 especially in the enemy variety & focus too much on the spectacle boss fights. It was very ambitious.
I’m totally agree with you. In complex a beautiful RPG, but for the story, and the graphics, is my least favorite.. And I’m so sorry about that. But, for example the story has almost no connection to the original; The homuncolus in comparision to the angels are literally less violent to kill them, with no blood and all less gore. Wich is one of the thing that I’m so sad for this game.. ah and BAYO have less hot scene…like 3 times in all the game; it seemed that it does not seem like her.. But yeah; in complex leaving aside the story and some graphic flaws, it’s a really good game. But obviously in compare to the other two, it wins only for the combat system
i honestly did not want to watch bayonetta 3 reviews because i refused to hear critiques about it, i freaking LOVE the combat! Personally, my favorite out of the three. But honestly this review is so good! Others I've seen were just complaining just to complain, this really opened my eyes to how ass the story is. Thank you for the great video gorgeous!
WOW, thank you so much!! Listen, I LOVE the combat too! Favorite out of the three??? I have to replay 2 to be sure, but this was an absolute blast no doubt. I appreciate you giving my review a chance, ESPECIALLY with my bold ass thumbnail despite not wanting to hear criticisms! I wish you and yours happy holidays!!
Been a longtime Bayo fan and I hated 3. It felt like an imposter, AAA shovelware. This may be me projecting, but the game felt toxic; like it was developed in toxic working conditions.
The boring enemies alone kept me from getting the game, they have no personality unlike the Angels, the more I saw from different streams and honest reviews made me feel like I made the right decision.
Your review is spot on! I think if I had not bought the at cost dlc of Bayonetta 3 it would've been less confusing more enjoyable perhaps! It's a fun game I may replay it eventually. Let's now see about Fire Emblem Engage? As well perhaps? Again nice honest review!
I kinda have a spark of hope bcs they confirmed bayonetta will always be a story about cereza so I hope they rlly take their time developing bayonetta 4 and I hope bayonetta origins will be cool . kamiya tweeted that he had a different plans for bayonetta 3 but he forgot them
Bayo 3 is sloppily produced, which is weird considering how Bayo 2 was made for a technically comparable system and still blows many current games out of the water with its visuals and polish. Hell, it even looks and performs and performs better on the same system Bayo 3 was designed for 3 feels like it doesn't know what to do, and thats unfortunate, because the base combat is stellar and there are story beats here that can work, but it almost feels disinterested in developoning either of those things. Its tried to do way too many things when it feels like production clearly couldn't handle it
Best review i've seen so far. Would have been nice if they had explained the red tears a bit more. Frog is easy find it by sound, cat is a puzzle where you need to find either an enviormnet block or find a spot where its forced to move to catch it and the bird is just a path to intercept. Bird is so much easier once you get the fans but the cat is for sure infuriating. Some of the trials in this version are so bs, and get so much more annoying in infinite climax, I started wishing for bayo 1 trials =/. The story wasn't great and there was so many missed opportunities but combat is fun for the most part.
Wow, thank you so much! Forgive the tear explanation, I have re-edited and reuploaded this video more times than I care to count I was over it. Thanks for watching and the feedback. :)
You can cheese most of the cat and crow chases using Umbran Spear (point in a direction + press R twice) as long as you angle yourself right. Saved me a lot of time.
@@BeatGoat nice, i'm bad at umbran spear =P. THe last cat caused me so much pain. the falls and the 30 mins at a time chase that one is truly evil. Haunts me to this day
Bayo 3 just feels completely off. Like I think the combat is solid and I don’t mind playing it on the switch. But Platinum needs some writers cause they really can’t tell a solid story.
I too enjoy the combat but Bayo 3...sadly, didn't stick the landing in the story department. Again, Bayo isn't praised for it's story but imo up until this point, it had an enjoyable one.
I feel like the story was the best explained in this game then the last. Yes things were weird and some of the things felt under cooked. I do also gotta say being upset for the graphics while it was to strong for a switch isn't really a Bayonetta Crit it's more of a switch critique. It being to strong for the switch does imply it was supposed to have better graphic's for other consoles. Overall I think most of the critiques here were valid despite me not agreeing with most of them. Good video.
The worst part of this game, is how they made the ending. They tried to pull everything they could to make us happy and it just made us angrier. They have added a LOT of fan-service, from Madama Butterfly doing the Kame-Hame-HA, to both Bayo 1 and 2 appearing, to a Poledance Sequence with 4 more battles during credits that no one wanted to do at that point because this trope only works if the gamne ends on a happy AND campy note, to a Dance sequence just like the first game. Hell they even added a full dance-credits sequence that tried to pay hommage to Bayo 1 and 2! And all of it felt wrong. It's not that bad endings is bad, or that it shouldn`t be sad. But there's a reason why Bayo 1 and 2 works so well with this type of ending sequences but 3 just flops. If the third game presented the story way better instead of throwing rushed sequences, without characters interactions at all and only fight scenes, and tried to make me BELIEVE in what was happened, if they had RESPECTED their own characters instead of destroying their personallities, it MAY have worked better IF they had removed the battle-poledance sequence and dance-sequence at the end. Again, the game cannot end SAD and Happy at the same time, and the fact that they had a super cheerful dancing sequence at the end just makes me feel like the ENDING itself was NOT meant to be sad. It's like they had lots of conflicting IDEAS and Wanted to add them to the game either way. In the end, they disrespected every single characters AND you as a gamer, Kamiya essentially said we should suck it up because he's like Big brain and we can't understand how much of a masterpiece his shitty story is in this game, they've burned years of legacy of strong, sexy woman who can own their own sexiness and every single enemy on their feet. People say this new Bayo doesn't feel sexy because of the voice change, but that's not the issue here. The voice is good, sometimes I even forget it's not the same voice actress, the problem is every single thing with Bayonetta. They made sure to make her super different, the taunts are childish (she even puts her finger below her eye and pull it out while sticking her tongue out to the enemies to taunt them), every single hit with Colour my world is way more Childish or Girly than before if you want, every single time she does something doesn`t feel like she`s using her sexyness to battle the enemies, instead it feels like every time she does, it`s kind out of character for her in this game. Best combat in all three games? Yes. But for every single new things they fixed, they made sure to add a new annoying thing. Make Viola playable, but only make her playable THREE times. Make Viola have the same enemies as Bayonetta to fight, but forget to ballance them for Viola's style. Make the challenges easier to understand with an option to restart it if you do something wrong, but make sure to add challenges that are absurdly stupid and to make the worst challenge for Viola Ever (Parry in high level enemies for Witch Time, PERFECT PARRY to kill them) as a VERSE 1 in a chapter. Kill characters in the most stupid way possible. Forget to delliver crucial information either on Books, character notes or cutscenes at all. This game became a fucking theory fest for youtubers, it's insane. I thought the theories would end with this game, because it's one thing to theorize about what the new game will be, now we're on Theorizing what the story means. Anyway, it's a mess. That's why when Bayo 3 won best fighting game I didn`t feel it was worth it. Yes it does deserve the title, but the entire thing is just meh. It got to a point that if they make a version of the game WITHOUT cutscenes, I beleive people would just enjoy it more XD. In the end to me and to a LOT of people, with the exception of the die-hard fans that WILL pay 60Bucks for a game that is 1/5 the size of Bayonetta 3 and clearly has way less playable time than any other game in the same segment, this game was a punch in the gut. It was just hard to play through the final chapters, it was a mess, and I`m still trying to find ONE person who played through the ending with a Smile on theri faces. I`VE SEEN A DRAG QUEEN, being annoyed at the eneding to the point she watched the credits and avoided doing anything else in the last 4 verses AT ALL, because she was angry. A DRAG QUEEN. Those guys are LOUD. Kamiya even made Drag Queens angry, and quiet. That's a new level of bulshit xD
What is that about the 1/5 Bayo3's playtime? Is it about Cereza and the Lost Demon? We have only seen one trailer and know nothing about the scale. Also you complain about the lack of cutscenes, then say the game would be better with just fighting. What? The game also quite obviously shows that this is a different Bayo. And I don't know what the Drag Queen part is supposed to proof. Games won't appeal to everyone, that's not new.
I don't think Clover Studios is around anymore, but this review has me thinking perhaps I should be glad there wasn't a Viewtiful Joe 3. The mysteries set up from the last game may have fallen flat or just not made any sense.
the bayoxluka thing didn't need extra chapters, they just had to commit to it from the beginning, like *this Cereza is with Luka and that's it* , heck if they knew they would do an "origin" story, they could use that for the explanation after, if anything. instead they decided to go for a *last-minute hookup* , the worst and laziest way to canonize a ship, and people got rightfully angry. I don't even like the ship, yet felt bad for the ones that do, literally getting crumbs like that. Can you imagine a Cereza acting like Morticia Adams with Luka? that be hilarious, in a game full of dumb references, they decide to cheap out instead. Edit: oh and of course, they had to have the "spiderverse" cameo at the end, where we see Cereza 1 and 2 as different persons, yet didn't commit to anything else.
That is *another* option, true. But if this is an "different" Bayonetta from a different multiverse I think it needed more chapters. Bayo 1 kinda nudged for LucxBayo, Bayo 2 leaned toward BayoxJeanne so I could see it going either way but assuming this Bayo is 'Cereza' I'd need more chapters. But yes it felt like a last minute hook up I agree.
...Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon?!? Possible input request Pelvic Gaming? I can't wait to replay Bayonetta 3! Tears of the Kingdom caused backlog on Shin Megami Tensei V, Demon Slayer-Kimetsu no Yaiba, Minecraft and Warden etc, Sonic Frontiers et al my Nintendo OLED big time...
I gave up at the shitty Jean 2d section, it felt like a slog until that part, it felt like they were just made this for the sake of it Since the announcement I was hyped for years until we got this crap. Such a shame
Thank you for your review! I'm a bit sceptic about Bayonetta series and I see it's a shame that this is a Nintendo exclusive saga, I really hope they release this for PC to fully enjoy the art for these games. On another note, are you trying Chained Echoes?
Well, personally, as a Bayonetta fan who wants the same things you do, I would say your review is pretty accurate. Speaking for myself, I have to say that there was a nagging sense of familiarity here, in that I felt the same way playing this game that I did playing the "Burial At Sea" DLC of Bioshock Infinite. I mean, the gameplay is an absolute blast and I had a lot of fun when I was immersed in that (I would daresay that I enjoyed the exploration and side missions more than you did). But it's all in the service of not much, when you consider the fact that the game's story just turns out to be a complete dumpster fire. Yes, I think everyone who's played the game at this point can pretty much agree, Bayonetta 3's story is, bar none, THE WORST story in the entire series. I mean seriously, it's not even a debate. As I see it, there are two main reasons for that. And one of those reasons...unfortunately...IS Viola. Now, to be fair, Viola isn't carrying ALL (or even MOST) of the story's bad baggage, but she IS saddled with a sizeable chunk of it, all the same. And I say it's unfortunate because right from the get-go, it was obvious what they wanted her to be. Quite simply, the whole point of Viola was for her to be a playable analogue for LUKA...someone to be in that "bumbling sidekick" role, for whom every situation she finds herself in turns into a complete cluster-fuck...but in Viola's case, someone who can actually HANDLE themselves in a fight (sort of). And taking her character strictly on THOSE terms, it's easy to appreciate what they were going for and you can see the germ of a good idea here, peeking through the cracks. The only problem is, it's the exact same reason why every story point that revolves around her just DOESN'T WORK. I won't spoil anything for anyone who hasn't played the game yet and is still curious to check it out, but Viola's presence is basically the whole reason why Platinum had to shoehorn Luka into a C-plot midway through the story, because I guess too many wheels were turning before one of the Devs thought to mention, "Well okay, but if we're going to make this NEW girl the exposition dump/comic relief...how are we gonna write in LUKA now? Because that was HIS job for the first two games". So they had to slap together something for HIM to do, and obviously, it was an idea that they never fully cracked and clearly just gave up on toward the end. So that whole thing doesn't play. It's also the reason why the overall ending doesn't work (again, no spoilers), because again, the whole point was to make Viola the bumbling sidekick and she never grows out of that. So even if you accept what Platinum was going for with the ending (and seriously, who DOES?) why would anyone buy into this as even a PLAUSIBLE conclusion, let alone a satisfying one? All annoying grievances to be sure. But those all pale in comparison to the one element that TRULY breaks the game's story...and that's basically the entire Multiverse, itself. In your review, you lamented it as a missed opportunity to push boundaries on a grande scale, but I saw it as something even lower than that. Because the whole function of the Multiverse in this application is simply to be used as a whitewash for Platinum to try and cover up every lazy-ass writing decision that could possibly be crammed into one game. All the elements of the plot that make absolutely NO sense? "MULTIVERSE!" All the parts of the story that they don't even bother to explain? "MULTIVERSE!" Which isn't to say that they don't explain ANYTHING. They just don't bother to explain it IN-GAME, which ties into your (accurate) criticism of how the game does more telling than showing. At least in Bayo 1 and 2, you at least got to hear what the bad guys wanted ("Hi, this is who I am and this is why I done what I did"). In this game, you actually have to read the Character Bios in the menu to find out that Singularity was an accidentally-created Artificial Human (basically an AI) who wants to erase all chaotic elements from existence, because his whole goal is to make the universe mathematically perfect (which isn't a spoiler for me to mention, because like this review says, the game never even brings it up). You even have to read the Character Bios to find out just what the hell is going on with Luka (even though it's not MUCH of an explanation, because like I said, it was an idea they never fully cracked). But yeah, apparently, none of this was even worth going to the effort of explaining in the actual game, proper. They just give you a bunch of text as an info dump. Like I said...LAZY. Hell, there are even subtle hints that the game's final scene might not actually be the characters we've been playing as all game, but possibly versions from another alternate universe that Singularity hadn't even attacked yet. So Platinum may not be all that committed to the ending they've crafted here. And that's another issue with the whole "Multiverse" angle. Because Platinum can just lean on the word "MULTIVERSE!" as a crutch to basically retcon anything they want at this point, nothing that happens in the game actually MATTERS. So what kind of a future can the franchise have, going forward? At least, that's just MY thinking on it.
@@marcel-pb2ul Well, ignoring the fact that I'm not entirely sure what point you're trying to make (hopefully, you'll elaborate if you reply), I would point out that, sure, it's easy to say that NOW, after Platinum has retconned everything. Although actually, if you go back over Bayo 1, the intro actually tracks with what happened in the main game. Basically, there are two interpretations for why Balder brought Cereza from the past to interact with herself as Bayonetta in the present, and at the time the game was released, neither of them having ANYTHING to do with a Multiverse outcome. The first interpretation was because the Eyes of the World can peer into time, so that's what Balder saw happen and he understood that interaction between past and present was essential for Bayonetta to remember what truly happened that night. And because she encountered her future self, it gave her the confidence to move forward and fight on after her mother was killed. So essentially, it was a predestination paradox. As such, the initial flashback of Jeanne sealing her away that night was just a distorted memory and the final flashback with her and Jeanne standing together to fight off the Lumen/Paradiso invasion was her TRUE memory coming to the surface at last. The other interpretation is that Jeanne truly DID seal Cereza that night and Balder had her younger self interact with Bayonetta in order to give her the confidence boost that allowed her change her own history. Personally, my heart wants to believe that the former is the true interpretation, but my head keeps telling me that it's most likely the latter. Either way, both roads ended up arriving at the same destination, which is that Cereza wasn't sealed that night, she and Jeanne escaped and she was sealed away at a later time. Hence, the intro we saw in Bayo 1.
@@TheKingYozora It very much matters. Without Nintendo's money and Nintendo console exclusivity there wouldn't even be any games to be "held back on the Switch". I let you in on a secret, all hardware holds games back.
I wouldn't mind so much if there were a PC port in the future, but Bayo 2 is living proof that Nintendo would never allow it. It's a shame because Platinum would prefer to be known for a game like this than Babylon's Fall, and Sega would have no issues with making more money either.
2's still the best one, but I liked 3 a whole lot. Replayed 1 this year and it's kinda clunky these days. I like the ambition of this series a whole lot, but seems like 2 had the best balance between crazy shit and fun gameplay within its technical constraints. Looking forward to replaying 3 again, skipping the cutscenes (which I mostly liked) and focusing on the pure gameplay. I keep hearing the Jeanne critique but I dunno, she has 4 levels and only the 1st one is a stealth section (and it only lasts 5 minutes). *shrugs* Anyway, the world is a better place with Bayonetta in it.
It was only four levels, they're short too, that's true, but they were four EXCRUCIATING LEVELS. I did not vibe with the gameplay at all and just wanted it to end.
I would have been fine with having those levels as rewards from the tears of blood instead, that way is clear they are different segments, like extra game features look for, finish all levels and you unlock the origin demo. but they decided to put them in the middle of the main story instead, and also split Bayonetta's gameplay with Viola's.
The combat was always a chef kiss. When it won GOTY for best fighting game, I agreed. Because in the end, it didn't do anything better than its own gameplay. A bad story, bad dynamic, no character development. Bayonetta felt both like Bayonetta and NOT Bayonetta at the same time. For a fan of a character action game and willing to not care about the story, this game is for you. If you care about everything equally, I believe you will be disappointed by this game
The main draws for me in Bayo have always been the combat (been replaying Bayo 1 since release) and the character writing. The latter was a huge miss for me in Bayo 3. It felt jarring and uncanny, like fanfiction or a knockoff, rather than a genuine Bayonetta story. As for the combat - amazing. That is, when the game actually lets you fight. So many diversions and janky minigames, it ended up testing my patience.
I haven't played 2 yet. I actually own it and have for years but I decided to wait until after 3 not realizing 3 would tale so long to come. I hate the ending of this and hope any games set after this use an alternate timeline to bypass the ending. Also they really, really needed to explain the villain's motivation IMO. Its like they took one of my least favorite villain plots from the Sliders TV show then decided to make it worse by leaving us with no idea what's drives the villain.
huh, I thought items stopped penalizing in 2, but I rarely used them there so maybe I'm misremembering. Either way, I didn't play this one, something since this got a proper gameplay reveal has looked off to me, and the more I saw of the full game, the more convinced I got I just wouldn't enjoy this one all that much. I'm kind of impressed how for a series whose story I have no interest on, they somehow get worse and worse with each entry despite being easier to follow compared to 1? But I think I'm good if this is the end of Bayonetta, I don't think I can be excited for anymore entries after how this turned out.
yes? I've played the previous Bayonettas to know what I liked and didn't about them, this one in particular seems to crank down on having more minigames that drag on with the generally less memorable setpieces of 2. I felt the game looked lackluster since it had a proper trailer last year, and nothing shown since has changed my mind. As someone who doesn't live out of making reviews, it's the games job to sell me on it, not mine to buy it to see if maybe I'm pleasantly surprised (which personally has rarely happened so I find that mentality pretty worthless), time and money are limited after all. The way the game ends gives a pretty good hint at how a potential Bayonetta 4 could follow, that alongside the general design of 3, Platinums shaky track record as of recent and that we'll still likely see their ambitions for a game clash with Nintendo's mentality on hardware, and I just don't see much they could do that'd honestly catch my attention.
@@PelvicGaming I can understand that. I still prefer the second Bayonetta. Can't tell why. Something about not waiting for it that long and having what I planned to receive from the second game :)
About your comment on the darkness of the game - have you tried to adjust the brightness settings? I got the prompt the first time I started playing, and I think you can do it whenever in the options. I'm just seeing the game footage you have and I swear none of the stages were this dark when I played through them.
It said to adjust the lighting until you can barely see the symbol on the screen! And I did just that!! Haha, even some of the footage you see I BRIGHTENED in post cause I was like bruh wtf.
@@PelvicGaming That's fair. I just saw that clip on Baal singing inside the one room with that door and it immediately struck me how much darker it was than from my experience. Then once I saw it, I kept seeing it in the other clips. I seen this in other videos of 3 as well, like the Baal Zebul sequence where her face at the start would be very shrouded in shadow, but then in my game everything is nicely lit up and visible. Maybe I'm playing on a higher brightness or sth, idk.
@@10Bendog Yeah, it sounds like we both were on different settings, and if I'm being honest, your settings sound a hella lot better than mine. I would have MUCH RATHER this game be brighter.
She was soo much more sassy in the first two games. But the 3rd game everything about her was gone. If only the original voice actress wasn't soo fucking entitled we would of had a better Bayo. I like the combat in the 3rd tho, its what carried the game if you asked me.
It was due to be WAYYYY bigger and an open world game and was supposed to flesh out characters and enemies but as we know production was Rocky and sadly because Nintendo hates sharing (they would have a lot more room to improve if it was on ps5 or PC) they had to limit what bayonetta could do because the way it is now already nearly kills the switch and an open world with multiple universes and demons.......
This games story struggled at the end but the gameplay was to me superb all the way through with very minimal hiccups compared to bayo’s other sequel game.
Agree to disagree. This is my favorite Bayonetta the previous 2 had me pretty meh on the series. Bayonetta 3 is the game that really made me a fan of the franchise.
I agree with you somewhat! The ending broke my heart and the graphics are a confusing downgrade from Bayo2. After finishing Bayo3, I replayed Bayo2 and it’s the best one of the series. The story is epic and the battling is much smoother to me. But I loved Bayo3 regardless of the shortcomings and it’s another addition to, quite possibly, the greatest action hack and slash series of all time.
I don' t *hate* Bayo 3 either! Any time I was fighting I was having a good time. But the story/new characters/ the underutilized 'multiverse' just left a lot to be desired.
The story sucks, totally agree. But the gameplay was amazing, I still may like this game more than the previous ones. The summonings, the weapons, even the gameplay style of Viola. I loved them all. Oh, but I didn't enjoy the Jeanne sections either. I found them nonsensical, Bayonetta doesn't need that weird slow style.
While I agree with most of the criticisms of the game (the challenge portals suck there's no denying that) I would still consider 3 my favorite of the series yes the ending was horrible and the exploration can get really frustrating but after beating the game and replaying chapters to get better scores without having to collect chests or umbran tears I can say it's the most fun I've ever had with a bayonetta game now don't hate me for this but while I like bayo 2 a lot i would consider it my least favorite because I can see myself coming back to bayo 1 and 3 and get better at them but 2 I always play it more casually it's just not fun trying to pure platinum the game while I had a blast getting pure platinum with bayo 1 and 3 still really good review
OOO, that's a GREAT idea!! Whelp...to late now xD
Wasted Opportunity
I like the stealth sections
Omg, Luka doing stealth missions is fitting for his character.
That's the point though
Yea capcom handled the passing the torch thing way better than platinum. But didn't dmc5 have more budget ? I'm sure it did and sold more.
@@Oceanandskylinevidss Maybe Platinum shouldn’t have tried to do this story if they didn’t have the budget to make it work.
@@acheronrecusant Yup, they flew to close to the sun so to speak. But at least the combat was superb to me.
The relationship between the two characters felt like it came out of nowhere for me and it only made things more confusing when it was confirmed.
Me too
Same
I agree. The biggest shock for me were how bad the graphics were, even for a switch game.
Bayonetta 1 is what you call a pasion project. Bayonetta 2 and 3 are money grabs. You can see the difference. I said what I said and don't f @ me.
@@ambiv5995 amen
I think Viola was alright in the game but she was definitely utilized poorly, especially towards the end
didnt like her gameplay
Agreed with everything except Bayo 2 Jeannes design was really nice imo.
Jeanne with long hair is top tier
Nooooooooo. Her slicked back hair was sooooo beautiful!
@@PelvicGaming I'm not disagreeing on that. Her design in 1 and 2 are both perfection! We don't talk about 3 though
Your reviews are always so entertaining! Thank you for your awesome video.
Thank you so much!! I appreciate you watching!!
Stellar review. I more or less agree with every point you made. Love seeing honest reviews like this and it’s why I trust your opinion for years!
Thank you so much for watching! So far I haven't pissed off the Nintendo Gods yet haha. I appreciate your support!!

SMT 4 you say?! Can't wait ^^
😃👍
I honestly wonder how many of these simp comments are from ppl that even played the game and formed their own opinion?
Objective review? That isn't a thing.
Best review for Bayonetta 3 so far. I agree with everything you said.
Actually most people are ok with her but hate how she activates witch time and they think she did not earn her title at the end of the game.
This is why i love your reviews, YOU TELL IT LIKE IT IS! Thank you for another great and honest review!
Awwh, well thank you so much for watching! I too was looking forward to it but man....what a let down.
Your looks in this video... GLORIOUS!
Thank you!! :)
@Joy Drip thank you for asking for my opinion. Question for you, do you have a PS4 or 5?
@@1hardyparty I don't play on my playstation anymore to be honest, I hardly have time, so I'm always on the switch :p
I thought you were referring to Bayonetta on the switch
@Joy Drip oh I was lol I was wondering if you play PS so I can recommend DMC 5 (Devil May Cry 5) it's the series that gave inspiration to Bayonetta if you haven't heard and 5 is the best one. If you are sticking to Switch. I will say DMC 3, Astral chain and Neir Automata. All very fun on Switch.
@@marcel-pb2ul they kinda did. They were just forgettable.
Something about the Graphics: they made it so the graphics appeared worse in handheld due to the limitations. The game looks a lot more polished if played on a dock
New subscriber here had some friends from my livestrem recommend your channel. Love the review style keep up the good work👍
Wowie!! Tell your friends thank you for spreading the word! And thank YOU for subbing and the kind words!
You always have the best takes tbh
Because you agree with them?
It's just soured what used to be one of my Favourite games of all time 😢
PG never lied though. Why people keep pedalling that is beyond me.
@@NuiYabuko for real, they keep repeating that lie over and over lol, PG left it vague and simple.

The bars are crazy! Great review!
Haha thank you for watching!
Personally I think Bayonetta 2 is easily the best out of the trilogy. I was so disappointed with 3
This is legit how i felt about dmc5 in the story for sure, what a shame
Exactly, I liked DMC5, but the story was kinda meh. Same here, although I liked the gameplay better than DMC5, the story was also kinda meh, confusing for no reason whatsoever, and even though the relationship between Bayonetta and Luka didn't bother me, nor the ending, the story was... I don't know, just there.
Appreciate the detailed review
It bums me out to admit this bayonetta game was such a let down narratively. Plus I miss the more solid art direction of the older ones
Same! I wanted it to blow people's mind!
Your video was great and I appreciate you laying it all out
I had to beat part 1 TWICE since the pacing was awful. Stop to stop go stop go. The cutscenes were painfail in a friggin hack n slash game. Second time around I loved it tho
Part 2 I loved quickly, but I think it was the high from part 1 that helped me get through better.
Part 3 was great but it DID take me a bit to beat, I put it down a lot.
Can’t wait for part 4!
Also..can they bring back Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon again? Miss that..
The giant demon fights make me wonder if platinum is thinking of a kaiju game down the road
I'll never forgive this game for giving us comphet Bayonetta
Bummer! Thanks for the excellent well-rounded fun review though!
8:08 good review but that sentence hurt my brain
Always look forward to your videos. Still haven't picked up Bayo 3, and leaves me skeptical, some of these new directions sound rough. Still picking it up, but Bayo 2 forever
personally, bayo 3 is a disappointment. And that says a lot. Its a great game, on its own. Not Bayonetta.
If u care about combat the most 1 and 3 are what u should play and story wise 2 is the best
YES LOL I discovered this right before I finished the game :) SO happy I did. The dash helped catch the cats easily.
I must add that not all extra levels are stupid platforming! Some are simply boss fights and can unlock new weapons and summons.
But, for example the story
has almost no connection to the original;
The homuncolus in comparision to the angels are literally less violent to kill them, with no blood and all less gore. Wich is one of the thing that I’m so sad for this game.. ah and BAYO have less hot scene…like 3 times in all the game; it seemed that it does not seem like her..
But yeah; in complex leaving aside the story and some graphic flaws, it’s a really good game.
But obviously in compare to the other two, it wins only for the combat system
and I add that it is and remains a very valid title to play
where are we as a society where multiverse is a played-out trope
It's neck and neck with the original. Yurisisters.... It was always a head cannon Luka x Bayo was always the one actually being built up.
i honestly did not want to watch bayonetta 3 reviews because i refused to hear critiques about it, i freaking LOVE the combat!
Wow, that is a FANTASTIC way to put that. An imposter.
Thank you for watching!! All this did was make me wanna replay Bayo 1 and 2!
Hell, it even looks and performs and performs better on the same system Bayo 3 was designed for
3 feels like it doesn't know what to do, and thats unfortunate, because the base combat is stellar and there are story beats here that can work, but it almost feels disinterested in developoning either of those things. Its tried to do way too many things when it feels like production clearly couldn't handle it
The hair is shorter? Nice review, as always.
The stories from previous games were bad , but this one was so bad i couldnt even finish it. This game just didnt click with me. Bayo 2 forever !
You get me! But I completed this one!
@@PelvicGaming yep and what makes it worse was that Bayo 3 was my most excited switch title this year. 😔
I think.. it was 2-3rd for me? Ngl LiveALive got me HYPED haha I am a SUCKER for the hd-2D look bby!!
the homonuli thing was so BS. the angels got kicked out without any explanation
I love the fact they this game is so different from the previous entries and couldn't be more excited for the future of the franchise
I dunno if I'd say *excited* but I'm interested in seeing where this is going...
2:55 ayyye das me!
a couple of bayotheorist be controlling the bayonarrative of the bayoverse....!
bayo, bayo.
Bayo 1 will always be Queen

Since the announcement I was hyped for years until we got this crap.
Such a shame
The Jean's sectiosn weren't my favorite either. Yeah the disappointment was real with this game...
"MULTIVERSE!"
All the parts of the story that they don't even bother to explain? "MULTIVERSE!"
Which isn't to say that they don't explain ANYTHING.
Can’t lie. This game looks dope as hell! Held back by Nintendo Switch Hardware! 🤦🏾♂️
"Held back by Nintendo Switch Hardware! " XD XD XD
but moved forward by Nintendo´s money ...
@@MrEMBT yeah haven't they learned from Bayonetta to formally being the Wii U exclusive? Nintendo is the only reason this series even still exists.
Doesn’t matter if they funded it or not. The game still looks like shit and is still being held back by Nintendo Switch Hardware ya big goof! Lol
*shrugs*
Anyway, the world is a better place with Bayonetta in it.
It was only four levels, they're short too, that's true, but they were four EXCRUCIATING LEVELS. I did not vibe with the gameplay at all and just wanted it to end.
@@PelvicGaming Yep, I agree with you there. They're all a little bit different but they feel so stilted. Anyway, great video!
They destroyed the characters.
huh, I thought items stopped penalizing in 2, but I rarely used them there so maybe I'm misremembering.
So you didn't play it, but aren't excited for anymore entries based on how this one turned out? What?
Bayonetta 1 supremacy
I did all the ass kicking first then I went back to do all the collectibles and challenges
I feel like that's how I should have done it, because the exploration was not the vibe for me. But I wanted to have a little of everything as I went.
@@PelvicGaming ye i mean the gameplay is fun but this game definitely felt alot different
i have a feeling i'm going to reach the same conclusions on this game
hmm... I just loved this game. The story is not the best part but the challenge it offers kept me glued on my seat.
That's fair! The challenges are CHALLENGING, I gave up mid way. xP
They definetly butchered bayo’s character
I've never seen the notification of the switch getting too hot!
I just assume it went off a jet engine until it settled down
This is the third game and we're already talking about passing the torch???????
This games story struggled at the end but the gameplay was to me superb all the way through with very minimal hiccups compared to bayo’s other sequel game.
Agree to disagree. This is my favorite Bayonetta the previous 2 had me pretty meh on the series. Bayonetta 3 is the game that really made me a fan of the franchise.
You know what? That's great! I'm happy that another person became a fan of the series even if it's through my least favorite Bayonetta game! Welcome!
I agree. The graphical downgrade is huge from Bayonetta 2 and turned me off to playing the game past chapter 1
Indeed...well said. 🤟🏾🤔
Respeto tu opinión, pero discrepo.
