Butterscotch pie
Pie crust of your choice (baked & cooled if using regular pie crust)
3 eggs separated (room temp)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup of cornstarch
2 cups of whole Milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 tablespoons butter
Meringue
3 egg whites
3 tbsp sugar
Vanilla
Stabilizer
1 Tbsp cornstarch
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon sugar

Stacie!!! This pie looks amazing, and thank you so much for the tips on the meringue. My mom used to have total meltdowns trying to make meringue for a lemon pie, so I've always been terrified of it lol You made it look so easy and your videos are always relaxing to watch. I feel brave enough to try. Maybe I'll try a chocolate pie with meringue :) I make a butterscotch pudding and our recipes are similar, but next time I will use dark brown sugar. Yes, please :) Great recipe, my friend!! xo
Hi Marcelle. I hope you try the Meringue if you like a taller one use 4 egg whites instead of 3. I use dark brown sugar all the time it really does have more flavor and it’s delicious in pecan pie. Thank you. Have a great day ❤️

I LOVE butterscotch. I've never made a butterscotch pie, but now I kind of want to. Oh You're cooking all this up from scratch. Wow! That's impressive. I bet this tastes a lot better than a box of instant pudding lol. I've never done a meringue on a pie either. Trying to remember what I did make meringue for once. I can't remember lol. I like that you added a little powdered sugar to the top of the meringue. I have that little shaker too. I use it every once in a while. Your pie did turn out looking absolutely beautiful! I bet it tasted amazing!

So if I do *not* want it to be gluten free do I use self purpose flour to make the pie and do I also use self purpose flour to make the meringue too??
Yes you can use the all purpose flour instead of cornstarch if you like and regular pie crust. I wouldn’t add flour to the meringue though. Thank you
