Why does it feel sad to see this skit even though this is just a figment of the writers' fertile imagination. I do know the actor who played Harry Potter is doing decently, but i can't help feeling sad for him, no idea why
This skit is deep. All the adults have moved on in the so called "real world" and Harry's adventures only entertain the kids. It's the drudgery of growing up - personified. This parallells most people's relationship with the stories. They're exciting and enchanting when you're young, but sooner or later one has to move on. Only those who fail to fully let go, be it due to nostalgic attachment, literal frozen development, or some other reason - follow the same stories into adulthood. The killing of innocence by maturation juxtaposed by the fractured psyche of the adult clinging to youth. Alas, earwax.

There is like Zero requirements to be a Hogwarts professor. Gilderoy Lockhart is a fool, Snape is a death-eater, Sybil gets it out of pity, Hagrid never graduated and technically an ex-con, and of course Lupin who turns in to a horrible werewolf every month. Ron being a teacher is the least worrying person for the job. Probably teaching defense against the dark arts. Although, Mcgonagall seems more reasonable then Dumbledore
@@Eyebrows842 Its not about him being accepted to teach at Hogwarts, it's about him wanting to be a teacher after he literally hated everything to do with school for the entirety of the movies I think teacher is the last thing he would want to be.

You either die a hero...or you live long enough to see yourself become the loser who never moved on...
If you don’t ever move on.
Thor in endgame
If you think about it, this is the most logical outcome for every one of these hero teenagers. If you save the world when you are 16, nothing in your life will top that. Also, the chance for PTSD is very big too.
@@dshaprin I was laughing and sad at the same time with the skit. Laughing and sad for the same reason, a person stuck in their glory days during their high school and or college days that they never outgrew, and that this phenomena happens in real life.
@@dshaprin That's one of the points of Homestuck, actually.
"graduated 10 years ago" That would make this 2008, not 2020....
Actually it would make it 2010, wouldn't it? Now 2020, ten years ago 2010
@@amazingly_bookish Harry Potter took place in the 90s though
I thought the same thing, but I think they must be going with the final movie release or something. Hagrid also called himself a janitor, which would have been more Filch's things, so it seems like a few license were taken
I thought he graduated in 1998 so yeah this would be 18 years into the future then
Well, for one, Harry never really graduated, though if he did it would have been in 1998.
This is one of the best concepts for an SNL sketch, ever. And best execution. Phenomenal! 🤣🤣🤣
I love that Daniel Radcliffe has moved onto other roles but not only still pops up as Harry Potter and isn't afraid to poke fun at the series.
"I used to think this bloke was working for the Dark Lord, turns out he was looking after me the whole time. Oops"
Also that Snape voice is perfect.
Oops! Really? Harry you turned out magnificently definately worth sacrificing my life(sarcastically talking)
I'm very impressed by Daniel's acting. He looks very natural and funny as he needs to read the script.
ksuke8 he is not the real daniel...
Shivansh Shiv he is daniel...
He acts better here than in the actual movies..
Sarah Ramsay well, he is older...

2:51 the dude in the background in between Luna and Hagrid looks absolutely mortified 😂
this is more canon then the cursed child..
Anything is better than The Play Whose Name Shall Not Be Spoken.

The fact that Daniel Radcliffe is on this makes it canon that Luna, Draco and Snape are all Gryffindors as they can freely access the Gryffindor common room
Daniel is a good actor.
lyon laurent No.
Gutted77 Yes.
agreed!
+Silmarien Ingoldo He was funnier in Extras
+Silmarien Ingoldo i feel the sarcasm oozing out of ur comment
"She said she saw you playing quidditch....alone...and making cheering noises..."
That line was so perfectly delivered!
I genuinely cannot tell if that’s Daniel Radcliffe or not
Draco didn't waste any time if he was dropping his daughter in school 10 years after graduation lol
wait...that would mean that draco did the devil's tango with his wife in either his 6th or 7th year.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. The wizards don’t get their acceptance letters till they are 11 right. So he knocked her up when he was 16 or 17 since he’s 28 here.
Remember The first Harry Potter book takes place in 1991 not in 2001 like when the movie came out.
Harry Potter was based in the 1990s, in 2020 they were all 40 years old and their kids would be between the ages of 12 and 16 (I can't remember their exact ages and some did have more than 1 kid) so they had been attending Hogwarts for a while. There were clearly details missing out which are a lot clearly if you did research and everything
HAHA best comment.

I’m sure this is what Daniel Radcliffe likes to imagine the series went instead of the cursed Child.
So do we

This comment deserves more attention.
That's deep.
