So far the intercooler has proven to be extremely reliable on the dyno and autocross (videos soon to come). Once the official instructions are released, I will revisit and correct some of the mistakes I made with the install. No instructions were included.

I had an 05 wrx long time ago, it’s crazy being away from Subaru for 13 years and the same things have to be done as far as places to trim bumper, coolant res, etc for fmic install. That’s cool perrin stuck with red piping all these years later

This video made me finally purchase the intercooler! It seems less modification is needed in the production model for the STI. Perhaps you could elaborate on the process of trimming the bumper? Perrin's instructions and stencil lack enough detail. Keep making awesome videos!

Changing the oil now looks like it could take longer. In it to see the protune numbers after header and FMIC!

Without tuning, this makes no difference, ecu will adjust all the parameters of the air fuel mixture. Tuning and upgrades, whether a lemon or resultant of upgrades can void warranty repairs. Am I wrong?

9:33 how did you fit the air channel into the air box? The left (when facing the car) charge pipe comes up too high on mine

Nate O'Neill that's good! I have the GTX3071r turbo on my STI . So there's a tad more lag than the OEM turbo. Debating that if go FMIC over the Grimmspeed TMIC it may increase lag.
White Wing STI there plus and minus to both honestly, Having to remove the Crash Beam kind of sucks. You might get more lag, personally I didn't know that big of a difference, my tuner said he is able to safely push the car farther because of the Fmic. I went with Fmic after watching them install the Fmic with grille I have same setup because of the other then I have Ets Fmic, with grille craft grill
Nate O'Neill absolutely. You reminded of the biggest reason why I have not pulled the trigger. The crash beam. That's a safety concern for me. Well I guess I'm crossing this off my list. Haha

How much interference can i expect on this install with an IAG AOS installed? the hoses on the left of the engine seem like it would make fitment a little tight.

It's optional. It's going to be a trend soon. Perrin has a optional bumper cutout stencil for those who want to modify the bumper.
Seems like the prl kit fits better than the perrin for cheaper

Yeah, Perrin specifically designed it that way.

Perrin has a relocate kit for FMIC cars.

My WRX Channel do you know if on the 18s you would have to perminently remove the carbon fiber looking piece that would go infront of the fmic?

This is not safe, what saves your life is the front impact Bar it is a structural part of the car and Subaru is not stupid to have it there..... must be a better way to add front mounted inter cooler

I don't post videos but I do have a 2015 wrx got it at 14000 miles about 1 month ago I plan on getting access port plus Mishimoto CA intake and run the MAPERFORMANCE stage 1 OTS map I'm a newbie though ninjabart has been a blessing by following my insta and sharing wisdom 😉 thanks for your channel as well bruv.
