This episode and the first part of this season in general really crushed my heart. Just seeing the work Hinata put in joy getting recognized made me super mad. But he also needed to be humbled a little bit.
They reanimated that scene because Season 4 changed the style of character designs to match de current style of the manga. Not only it was a good oportunity to restart the anime since there were a good time gap between Season 3 and 4 but also to show what they changed in the art and style so we can get used to it before the new scenes and animation.
