-- Abe Beeson, KNKX/NPR
“...transcendent music.”

The women of säje are eternally grateful for the contributions of generations of Black musicians, whose artistry undeniably shaped the genres to which we have devoted our lives -- and whose influence can not only be heard throughout our music, but the music of so many others we celebrate and adore. We love and respect ALL Black lives.
Aside from the astounding arrangement and performance…that drummer is top shelf!
Isn't he! You might have seen him playing with Jacob Collier on a couple of tours in recent years.
Two years posted, and ONLY 754 likes????? What is going on??? Mind blowing arrangement! Incredible voices and interpretation! Wow! I´m all in with Säje!
I agree this deserves so much more recognition!! I think they are one of the very few creators that are honest about the follower engagement. There are way too many accounts out there faking those numbers, so everyone has lost the sense for realistic proportions.
Thought the same. Crazy times when the majority primarily follows the media hype and do not understand, recognize or appreciate where worldclass happens. Sign o’ the times.
I can't believe they removed this song from their CD on iTunes! I saw them perform live, and these women are amazing. Their vocal arrangement on the song is fantastic.
Everything about this is amazing, and the bass player is just beyond wow!
I’m not a jazz fan per se but this ‘kind’ of interthreaded jazz harmony I love to mix in my listening to music. And actually I’d say this group is epitome of ‘that kind’ of jazz. It’s like a Jimmy Buffett or Nanci Griffith video: you are compelled to watch rather than just listen because there’s so much of the right stuff going on that you have to see it not just hear it.
Fantastic.
This is beyond world class. How is this even possible? It took me six times of listening to it to even half way understand what's going on here rithmically. Let alone harmonically. I've one comparison: the 'singers unlimited' (I suppose you've heard of them) Magic voices, incredible arrangement. Thank you endlessly for sharing this here.
I recently went to a Säje concert that was hosted at my University. I watched a video that had the original Jolene in the background, immediately left that video and started watching this because the live performances was so memorable. I love this arrangement and their voices!
Another track that is ridiculously good from this outstanding ensemble of musicians!
Wow! Amazing. I just found you today through Pomplamousse and have already shared you with others. Your music is powerful in the best of ways.
Heavenly voices
It absolutely worked for me - phantastic. That 5/8 Groove ist so subtle, so easy going and flowing (- i couldn't get it out of my head so i transcribed it)! Blending, dynamics, rhythmic variation of the theme - so cool! The Band is so nicely loose and tight at the same time - wow! The only very small little detail i don't fully go for is the last chord, that seems to go away from the general harmonic drift. Great Arrangement - Bravi and thanks!
Transcendent! Beyond soulful performances from everyone! Incredible arrangement! Many thanks!
Voices... I died 😭😭😭❤️ Back up musicians... and went to heaven ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼
Your group is my new obsession!!! Wow!!!
Run Jolene...running
Mind blowing!! The music you give to this world resonates very deeply with me! 💜
beautiful... blends... tones.... colors.... truths.
That was most certainly the funnest cover of this song I've ever heard, and it was also quite beautiful. ❤ Wow. 😊
JOLENE is being chased down by this vocal arrangement....powerful....
It’s unreal how great that is. Absolutely brilliant.
doodoodoo, the right tell for an emotion we can't express but when you sing it, it is clear, so clear, thank you so much
Who arranged this?!? Soooo complex, so intricate. Amazing
Geoffrey Keezer arranged it with Sara Gazarek for her album "Thirsty Ghost" and then Amanda Taylor and Johnaye Kendrick did this vocal arrangement!
New Sara, säje, and Dawn Clement fan, here!
Nice 👍🏻 ❤ … beautiful chord progressions …
that's inspired

THIS IS SICKENING!!!
Super song from Dolly, nice performance, I'd like some less-soft piano harmonies, something with more bite.

Why am i discovering this channel now😅
Please please give a tutorial on how to say the name of the group....?
Also what recording device do you use to record the audio?? please....
Liked Manhatten Transfer. Loved Take 6. Adore Voces8. Own saje's latest album. But the original Jolene cannot be improved upon. It is sacrosanct.
Need to update your 'Grammy nominated' status...
I didn't dig it. I can't say why. However, I dig you ladies, because what you're doing is simply wonderful. Wonderful arrangement, flawless blending and sound, everything was perfect. Just didn't do it for me. Doesn't mean y'all aren't spectacular. Liked and subscribed, looking forward to hearing what you come up with next.
I absolutely do dig it, from the arrangement and the rhythm section to the vocals - as you said, all fantastic! But around 3:23 for example, you notice how there may be a bit too much compression on the vocals - the dynamics don't build as naturally as you would expect for such largely acoustic music. It sounds... cramped, I guess?
@@andreamyrte9196 Good catch. A little squish there... also the wonders of the UA-cam compression algorithm at work.
the blend……………….. 🤕
No. No. No. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
