The Antutu benchmark is also rather curious. Just based off the score and temperature at the end of it, it looks like Google is either not pushing the device to its peak in benchmarks, or Samsung is engaging in benchmark manipulation (as they have done in the past) and forcing the processors to perform under higher temperatures than normal. The 3DMark test had a peak of 47.7 C on the Exynos S24!
MVP, the only review I was waiting for. Other reviews are clearly paid shills, who don't talk about the negative aspects of a popular phone's performance. I have been here ever since your very thorough review of Samsung's Exynos battery life on S24.
Please re-do this test after one ui 6.1.1 I am experiencing way less temperature rises and battery drops on my exynos powered s24 plus, tried genshin impact and previously with my settings it was rising to 43-44 degrees but now it's staying at 40 and the battery life seems to have improved as well so maybe this update fixed a lot of issues with the exynos chip.
Great video greetings from India . and can u make more videos on s23 in comparisons?.. i wonder when will samsung stop exynos chips just think it will bake in India ..
I love samsung but I would never buy the exynos variant and it is unacceptable that the difference between the chipsets is as high as 20% batter or almost 1 hour of SOT. The battery is just one problem, exynos has terrible video stabilisation and many other problems. Being from you europe I would have no choice but to go with competition if they are to continue this in the future, They want to charge highest prices while cutting corners with that chipset so they can make more money.
The Exynos results are awful! At the end of the video calling test, the Exynos S24's display is significantly dimmed, indicating temperature based throttling, yet it still drained the most battery!
Great video! Very helpful! However, it makes me second guess my decision to by the S24 Exynos (Germany) vs the Pixel 9 Pro. Shame that it is a lot heavier and much more expensive
Could you compare Xiaomi 14 as well to these (in particular to S24)? Thats one of the few options to get Snapdragon 8 gen 3 in the EU, thanks Samsung's wonderful practices, but Xiaomi has HyperOS which is the other devil. Which one is better bargin assuming price is the same? Exynos S24 with all its flaws, but OneUI or Xiaomi with really nice hardware, but HyperOS?
I think only Samsung dares to have different chipset in same flagship phones and sell them in about the same price in different regions. How the hell they gonna compete? Like regions using Exynos vs Apple or even vs Google? I believe many people that's not so techy if they will know the difference in chipset used in S24, then they would have bad experience using Samsung phone and never used again or switch to another brand. Such a dumb act and strategy.
It would be interesting to compare Light Mode Exynos/Snapdragon S24 vs Pixel 9, especially since those two handily beat the Pixel 9 even in Light Mode performance wise.
In fact, the 5G modems that Samsung uses in Exynos are more problematic than Exynos itself. If this test had been done on 4G, the difference in screen time would have been around 10% instead of 17%. In fact, the difference could have even dropped to 8% on Wi-Fi. (Still not very good, but definitely better)

@@gameplays1993 i think your period key is broken mate. very hard to get your incorrect point through like that
The Antutu benchmark is also rather curious.
Missing the GPS battery drain test, as i use my phone constantly in the car for android auto. Great tests tho, thanks!

Great video greetings from India .
and can u make more videos on s23 in comparisons?.. i wonder when will samsung stop exynos chips just think it will bake in India ..
Thanks for making really awesome videos that most users are really looking for rather than generic reviews 👏🏽
This is all I was waiting for
I love samsung but I would never buy the exynos variant and it is unacceptable that the difference between the chipsets is as high as 20% batter or almost 1 hour of SOT.
The battery is just one problem, exynos has terrible video stabilisation and many other problems.
Being from you europe I would have no choice but to go with competition if they are to continue this in the future,
They want to charge highest prices while cutting corners with that chipset so they can make more money.
excellent!, thanks for the video, almost bought exynos s24, i wonder why they sell it with same price comparing with SD
Just enable light mode. Still better perf compared to Pixel 9 and you get quite a bit of battery efficiency.
What app you use for see the porcentage and other stats?
Could you compare Xiaomi 14 as well to these (in particular to S24)?
Thats one of the few options to get Snapdragon 8 gen 3 in the EU, thanks Samsung's wonderful practices, but Xiaomi has HyperOS which is the other devil.
Which one is better bargin assuming price is the same? Exynos S24 with all its flaws, but OneUI or Xiaomi with really nice hardware, but HyperOS?
Мучаюсь в выборе между xiaomi 14 и S24 snapdragon
Excellent Doc!
Good thing is that it's likely that we will get all Snapdragon on the S25 series. Cant wait to get my hands on that gorgeous S25+
Rumors say that the new chip for s25 series will be mediatek😢
It would be interesting to compare Light Mode Exynos/Snapdragon S24 vs Pixel 9, especially since those two handily beat the Pixel 9 even in Light Mode performance wise.
My Pixel 9 Pro should be arriving next week 🙏🏼
In fact, the 5G modems that Samsung uses in Exynos are more problematic than Exynos itself. If this test had been done on 4G, the difference in screen time would have been around 10% instead of 17%. In fact, the difference could have even dropped to 8% on Wi-Fi. (Still not very good, but definitely better)
It's clear the s24 exynos you have is defective. I own the phone and it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. Please get a new exynos s24 to conduct your future tests with...

it's funny to see pixel has better cellular signal than s24 exynos version
Do all those who praise the crappy Pixel 9 battery know that that battery is bigger than the S24? That test should be more accurate due to the size of the battery with the S24+
The s24+ would show less screen time than the Pixel 9 due to its 1440x3088 resolution, 6.7 inch screen.
@@Ti.a409 Nowadays, screen resolution is already a non-existent factor in battery consumption, it is not like 7 years ago when it did consume a lot of battery.
@@axelhurtado8570 actually, it is.
A 1440P screen has twice as much pixels to light up than a 1080P one. So, you can't expect the power consumption to be the same.
I don't get why people are surprised that the Pixel lasts longer than the S24. The S24 has a more powerful chip that needs more power to operate than the less powerful chip of the Pixel. Nobody in their right mind would say that a V8 engine would need less fuel than a V6 engine, so I don't find this that surprising.
The good news as per recent rumors is that all S25 models will be having snapdragon 8gen4 globally. Hopefully it's true.
Too late the damage is done already.

Hello Mr. Mo, pardon me asking, but what would you rather choose? Galaxy s24 exynos or S24 plus exynos? I currently have issues with my regular S24. Battery holds only about 3,5 screen on time per day and signal seems bad + it also has issues when taking photos bcs the postprocessing takes hours and sometimes it fails and photos are lost. Support told me, everything is ok and on guarantee service they closed it with "no faultiness discovered". I am thinking about sending it back and going for 24 plus. Do you think it would be better?
Plus. Bigger battery.
@@King_Miracle i know, but it also has bigger display with higher res, that consumes more power. Hard to say...
@@arnmagnusson2597 here's my advice.
The plus is a battery life champ, so, if you're in need of that battery, you might as well get it.
By the way, all these faults you mentioned... Did you get the 128GB model?

I really don't understand it. As I commented last time, I've got Flip6, S23, S24 Exynos, Tab S9 too, and my S24 doesn't perform so bad. I don't use Meet and Rush either, but overall I can hardly believe it. You're the most accurate tester, so I guess maybe the different 5G is the key thing in Hungary, Austria. Almost 20 % is insane. I don't experience it. S23 is always (and the S9) the coolest one, but the S24 is the smoothest. Battery is quite similar. I use the Flip6 daily now, like the foldable phone, but I missed my the S24. Maybe it needs some time. The S24 was worse in the beginning too.
Hey,
In my tests it also shows S24 Exynos battery is similar to S23. Also probably your S23 is older hence the battery is more degraded. It's just S24 SD is better, not that S24 Ex is bad.
@@techmo2020 yeah, I know but what about my Flip6. It should be superior but it doesn't. Same Gen3 SOC, same 4000 battery, even reduced performance. OK, probably lack of 6.1.1 optimalization. But I can't see coming the 20 % gap in the future. And my S24 has even better signal too. And so smooth.
@@techmo2020 a comparasion between the S24 SD and Flp6 would answer my question. :D
@@lajoshang5942 I get the logic, but you are kind of comparing apple and oranges here. Flip 6 is 6.7 inches, it needs much more power to run the screen. Also the processor is on one side and it's very hard to cool the phone down, we can't cheat the physics . I had Z Fold and it had the same problem. That's why performance is worse than S24 Exynos, since the phone throttles sooner to not heat up. If you look at GSMArena, Flip 6 has 1 hour less battery compared to S24 Exynos. Hope it helps 🙏
@@techmo2020 ok, you're all right. The better signal in Hungary is still a miracle. :D

Google said they focused on optimization for the Tensor G4 processor rather than performance.
Tensor is actually weaker version of Exynos
@@arshiamozafari6606 a weakness can be a strength against the competition.
The battery is better with the tensor chip within the pixel and shows the tensor is far more optimized than the exynos within the Samsung phone.
The Tensor 4 seems to be just an updated version of the Tensor 3, maybe 3.1, sacrificing performance improvements for efficiency. If you're a casual user with light needs, the Pixel is a great option. However, power users and gamers should reconsider their decision.
Regarding the Exynos chip, despite the support from Samsung Knights, it is not competitive compared to its rivals. The news of the Exynos 2500 being delayed suggests that Samsung Fabs still cannot design and fabricate competitive premium chips. Don't believe those on UA-cam or Twitter claiming that the Exynos is better than Snapdragon-it is certainly not, and likely just fans of Samsung.

So there are a few very important things to note.
1. Pixel 9's battery is 17.5% larger.
2. The performance of the G4 is actually lower than both S24s set to light performance mode(which under-clocks the CPU and GPU).
Taking this into consideration both S24s are faster and more efficient than the Pixel. But at least this time the Pixel isn't very hot, which is a plus.
