I changed all the major exterior light housings on my OBS Ford last year. Tail lights, headlights, signal lights and side marker lights. Shipped to the door the bill was $150. Not the best quality OEM spec stuff but good enough for the girls we date. It's fun facts like that which cause me to forgive the 10 MPG lol
You can get them for less. Like $400 - 500 per assembly. Still stupidly expensive for what they are. Will F150 assemblies fit? It looks close. And you need to check out some part picker places in your travels. You might get lucky.
You put epoxy on corrugated cardboard, the corrugated cardboard will soak up some epoxy. So basically you never know how much and your ratios will be all screwed up.

Blind spot radar in the tail lamp = $$$
It's cause it's led normal tailight. With blind spot monitoring is roughly $300.
