Great Video!! Amateur Question: Wouldn't it help to place the Start of the Fondant wrap in the middle of the shape instead of the edge in order to merge the two ends more invisibly? Now there's still a slight space between start and end of the marble wrapping. I would imagine that if u put the start in the middle of your shape you can apply more pressure on the Fondant during the flattening process with your tools without risking damaging the cake shape and bring them together seamlessly (I hope it's clear what i mean, i'm not a native speaker)

Candice Hodge Hi Candice, the reason could have been a bubble under the fondant or too much filling or uneven layer of ganache. I use 3:1 chocolate : cream ganache

Parita Hines Hiya, unfortunately that’s the nature of gold leaf.. I don’t touch it with my fingers when I applying, just cut the transfer in desired shape and apply with it

What brand of black fondant did you use?
Sometimes wilton black fondant turns green and purple after marbling.

May I ask you what was on the inside of the cake?
There was polystyrene on the inside of this cake, which is quite common when you are making decorative cakes rather than cakes for customers to eat.
