What a coincidence i have the same lathe and mill as you have, although my mill might be a little older the tag reads Atlas / Colchester. I really enjoyed this video and the others on your channel !

Thanks. I used 1.25" perforated tube from the hardware store, a couple of lengths of 1/4-20 All-Thread and some acorn nuts to hold it together. With the All-Thread close to the inside corners there's clearance to stick my T-handle wrenches in the spare holes. Then I make the tool holders from aluminum flat that I bend and attach at appropriate intervals. The rack itself is made from hardware store aluminum brazed together with a MAPP gas torch and low-temp aluminum rod. I attached cup magnets to the hangers to hold my chuck wrenches.
Thank you....i have tooling.....the lathe powers on fine and sounds fine....both feeds work fine forward and reverse direction....its an old lathe and no i dont intend on reconditioning it....buying it just to use at home on occasion ....$350 seems like a very good price from my brief research....its definitely not high priced....ive seen these logan 200 sell for $500-750....

Wire shelves, a frame of square aluminum tube low-temp brazed with BernzOmatic aluminum rod and a propane torch, perforated steel tube, a couple of lengths of All-Thread, some steel flat bar and some cup magnets, aluminum flat bar bent to make the tool holders, and misc. bolts, screws and nuts.
Hi again....i also have looked at some old atlas lathes but from briefvresearch it seems a logan lathe is better built and more heavybduty as compared to a similar size atlas.....is that generally true?
I think the Logans are a bit more rugged. I think Atlas used cast change gears. You still see a lot of broken gears on Logans, though. Mine was in very good shape, no missing teeth on any of the gears that came with it. I got a nearly complete set, and just had to buy one 16-tooth gear.
Need some advice....my friend is selling his used logan 200 lathe ..with orig stand...works ok....no accessories included....no change gears...$350 is that a good price or no?
When you say "no change gears" do you mean that the lathe has a functional gear train, but no extra gears, or are you saying that it has no gears at all? He could always put it up on eBay with a reserve of $350 and see what happens. How "motivated" is he to get rid of it?

I spent some time deburring them with a wire brush and kraton abrasive wheel in my Dremel to get it to thread on, and finished off with some Flitz polishing compound. All you have to do is carefully mount the backplate and turn the face to fit the back of the chuck. I wound up with 0.0003" TIR. Most-used accessory for my lathe.

Does it run? What kind of shape is it in? Are the spindle bearings good? How rusty is it? Are the ways and other parts badly worn? Does everything work? Do you know enough about lathes to know what constitutes "working?" Do the power feeds work and not make a lot of noise? How's the backlash? Depending on the shape it's in you might have to spend a fair amount reconditioning it. Do you have those skills or the desire to learn them? I assume that you do or you wouldn't be interested in buying a lathe. All things considered, that might be a very good price, but don't lose sight of the fact that you are going to spend a lot of money on tooling no matter what you buy if you're serious about making it useful.

If you know that it's in good shape it's definitely worth $350. It will be a good tool for you.

Not rusty.....just very old...its 70 yrs old what do you expect lol.....
