Im kinda shocked that Hatterene didnt get mentioned for Fairy type! its Shield entry says: If you're too loud around it, you risk being torn apart by the claws on its tentacle. This Pokémon is also known as the Forest Witch. and for the Violet entry: Beware of forests that show no signs of living creatures within. You may have wandered into Hatterene's territory. Definitely something to be scared of...

Kyurem is a terrifying menace, and is largely slept on as one of the scariest Ice Types. A Pokemon that seemingly came from space on a meteor and created a Giant Chasm. It froze and ate any that approached it. A local village created walls around their town and enforced a curfew to keep everyone safe from the beast. But that's not the end to it. Ever consider why Kyurem might be eating people and Pokemon? The answer lies in it's nature. Kyurem is the empty husk left behind when the legendary Dragon type Pokemon of Unova underwent fission. It constantly yearns to be filled, to be whole once more, by any means necessary. And being fused with either Reshiram or Zekrom, while offering some of it's former power... makes it an abomination of myth and science. It is one of few Pokemon, also, to be ordered to kill it's opponent. In the English translation in B2W2, Ghetsis orders Kyurem to freeze the player solid with Glaciate. But in the Japanese translation the of line is "Kyurem! Impale them!" How could you not be terrified of Kyurem?

Hatterene is also a terryfing fairy pokemon, the pokedex says: "Beware of forests that show no signs of living creatures within. You may have wandered into Hatterene’s territory." It is also said that this pokemon hates loud noises. Which means that Hatterene probably kills or scare off pokemons in a entire forest just so it can live there, without being disturbed by other creatures noises.
Common misconception. That alternate Hau-oli city was likely destroyed by the power plant that we see the ruins of exploding. The one person there alleges that something else happened, and speaks of Guzzlord with a friendly pet name. I honestly think that Guzzlord is cleaning up the irradiated rubble left behind. It doesn’t even seem very violent when you encounter it, at least not any more than any other Pokémon. Still one of the scariest Dragon Pokémon just based on its biology however, even if the one in the Ultra Ruins isn’t evil. Good video, very good.

13:48 i like to think that xerneas is no better than yveltal, because he (yes, he, only male deer have antlers) can make life overabundant (like overgrown plants, zombies, immortality, basically eternal suffering, just look at az). just like xerneas can undo what yveltal did, the other way around is possible too (like undoing immortality, putting zombies back into their graves, returning plants to the way they were). but if they are both doing what they aren't meant to, that's where zygarde steps in.
Id say phantump and trevenant. Introducing dead child turned into a haunted tree stump and an old tree that kills those that enter its forest. (I'm not entirely sure about the trevenant one) and finally cofagrigus who slowly drains the life force of those trapped within it only leaving a mummified husk of its victim
Mega Salamence. Just the idea of bonding with a Pokemon to the point it can Mega Evolve, perhaps it's been your friend for years, and it messily and gruesomely cuts you in half. It has a reputation of doing this, btw, to the point it's known as the blood-soaked crescent.
Honestly when you said Froslass was the scariest I was surprised, I think Galie is the scariest Ice Type but with Froslass’ backstory I can see why you find it the scariest
49 is the national dex number for Venomoth so maybe that variant of Yamask died to Venomoth poison? Also really ironic that both the scariest bug types were based on cicadas. Parasect being a cicada infected with a mind control fungus (which there is a real world equivalent that infects ants) and Shedinja being the discarded shell after a cicada leaves its nymph life stage.
Honestly, i would include one honorable mention: Litwick. At first, it is one of the cutest pokemon you will ever see. I mean, look at it. Cute body, cute smile, cute sounds, small... However, its pokedex entry simply says another story: "While shining a light and pretending to be a guide, it leeches off the *life-force* of any who follow it." Now, i'm not sure if this is something that Litwick does by default and can not control or if this is something that they do on purpose. One thing for sure: this is one of the last pokemon you want to be near you.
Tyranitaur is easily the absolute scariest. I’ve had LITERAL FEVER DREAMS AND VIVID NIGHTMARES about being relentlessly chased, crushed and fucking suffocated by it in both rock and darkness.
Most terrifying for me are hypno and sharpedo. Hypno because of the creepypastas and sharpedo because I'm super terrified of sharks in general. It may sound stupid but when I was a child my dad's family would tease me about my fear of sharks. They would show me creepy pictures of them over and over. One day I had sleep paralysis because of it. Since then I can't even look at sharks.
Dragon types, honorable mention: Cynthia's team killing Garchomp. I don't care what people say to discredit him. That Sharky Dragon Boy was made by Satan (Pronounced Suh Tan, Like from Wreck It Ralph) himself. And even he fears the battler he's created. And quite frankly, I'm glad I could never get past Barry the last time in Pearl in order to take on Cynthia, because Barry stomped me out. Cynthia would have straight up poverized me.
i’m absolutely terrified of Muk 😭 that’s because i had a nightmare when i was rlly young where i was getting chased down by it. at the end i fell off a cliff and thought i was safe until it came down and suffocated me in its slime. i was like 9.
To me beedrill is one of the scariest pokemon. I am just not used to see quite realistic bee in animation. What I mean is that most of the times bees are drawn as soft bubbles with small wings, meanwhile beedrill has proportioned endings and wings. It seems disturbing, in my opinion. Moreover beedrills are often shown in anime as aggressive and tough bug pokemons. Therefore if I ever met beedrill, I'd be terrified and probably I'd shit my pants or something :P
About the Pacherunt thing.... we see it take over the entire Kitakami region in the Mochi Mayhem story/DLC epilogue... and it is both unsettling, and kinda funny when you look at the specific models and animations that go on as everyone goes full on "Mochi Mochi... Arven get's stiff as he begins his Chicken Dance and Penny goes full blown into it.
I'm surrprised Drampa didn't make the list. The weird human face on the a snake body that goes on rage fits that destroy cities is... too much for my comfort lol
Chandelure (my favorite Ghost-type) is also pretty scary, here are some entries of it: White: Being consumed in Chandelure's flame burns up the spirit, leaving the body behind. White 2: The spirits burned up in its ominous flame lose their way and wander this world forever. Shield: In homes illuminated by Chandelure instead of lights, funerals were a constant occurrence or so it's said. The Shield one is a nice addition, but the way White and White 2 complement each other is horrifying, not only does its flame consume nothing but the soul, which would turn into terrifying Pokemon battles since that thing would use a move like Flamethrower at its opponent and now it's just an empty shell, but also its soul is now wandering the world without ever finding peace... Oh, on top of that, there is probably no going back, unless any Legendary/Mythic Pokemon could help. Lesson, if you're gonna fight a Chandelure, don't use any Pokemon you're too attached to.
Whaaaaaaat, you mean to tell me that Pokémon with a dual ghost-type tend to be the creepiest amongst their other type??? I never would have guessed lol
There’s also the oh-so lovely detail of Banette mutilating itself in order to lay curses on people. I get that it’s basically describing how Curse works with ghost types, but the Pokedex goes out of its way to describe this as just…something Banette normally does. Does it enjoy causing pain to itself? Or does it have that little regard for its own well-being?
Don't know why, but this video gave me an idea for a regional shedinja. Give another pokemon, paras comes to mind personally, a reaper cloth since it's already a ghost related evolution item, and have the obligatory extra pokeball and slot in your party then evolve the mon like normal. This could work for any bug or snake pokemon, as long as it sheds.
I didn't know people found Blacephalon scary. To me, he's just a little goober. I mean yeah it probably wants to kill you and would never be your friend, but he's still silly and will always be one of my favorite Pokémon.
I'm willing to bet the mural on Runigerus is depticting the Darkest Day. It is shaped like a serpent or dragon, which could be meant to represent Eternatus. There's no way to know for sure though...
So assuming the weight i found on sand is right (2mm sand particle weight 11 miligrams and roughly 41,235 grains per pound) Palosaand wights 551, meaning it should be approximately 22,720,485 grains of sentiment sand. They out number us exponentially
When it comes to grass types I would've gone with Cacturne instead honestly especially like look at it with it's creepy smile and deadpan eyes staring at you it's kind of scary and creepy especially if you also add it's pokedex entry into it saying that they following travelers into the desert for days until the traveler can't move anymore then they attack that's terrifying.
I'm trying to think a bit outside the box, and I'm also trying to avoid Pokémon that are part Ghost-type or Legendary. Normal - Bewear (It hugs you until it snaps your neck). Fire - Centiskorch (I don't like centipedes) Water - Basculegion (It's a large freaking piranha...) Grass - Trevenant (It was hard to find a scary grass type, so I had to just go for something). Electric - Xurkitree (This guy is just freaky and weird). Psychic - Jynx (I just don't like Jynx) Ice - Also Jynx (To elaborate, I acknowledge that there are both Ice & Psychic types that are scarier than Jynx, I just hate Jynx, which is why it's on twice). Dragon - Hydreigon (It's a 3-headed dragon, and according to the Pokédex, it'll attack anything in sight). Dark - Grimmsnarl (It'll strangle you to death with it's hair). Fairy - Hatterene (It will tear you apart with it's tentacle claws, and it can sense you from 30 miles away). Fighting - Buzzwole (It was a bit hard to find a fighting type that was actually scary, but Buzzwole is a freak). Flying - Tornadus (It creates winds that are stronger than Class 5 Hurricanes). Poison - Scolipede (It's another centipede, and I don't like centipedes). Ground - Hippowdon (Apparently it's jaw can open 7ft, meaning it could eat a fully grown man whole, also hippos are very violent). Rock - Magcargo (This guy is 18000°F (10000°C) i.e. hotter than the surface of the sun, how is it not causing an environmental meltdown)? Bug - Pheromosa (Similarly to Buzzwole, this is just a freak). Steel - Mawile (There's something about it's freaky steel jaws that I don't like). Ghost - Giratina (And this is pretty much THE scary Pokémon, after all it's the incarnation of the devil, and everything that's evil).
Brazilian here, i hope that if they make a region based on here they add a new mosquito, otherwise knowing how common they are in spring and summer we wouldnt stand a chance, immagine 20 buzwholes swarming the front of your house for half of the year
can i just say based of pokedex entries that snorlax is horrific in the age of pokemon legends arceus. it can kill off entire villages because it felt hungry
The only thing I’m really afraid of is eyes, specifically stuff like praying mantids, but the one Pokémon like that I actually like. So if I had to say the scariest Pokémon to me is Bewear, namely cause that thing was made to be terrifying in the anime
Surprised jynx wasn't mentioned, that thing always came off as nightmare material. Also, dang, palossand is basically S1 Muholland but without the fantasy dream illusions.
9:10 Non-Ultra Necrozma is definitely a major contender for scariest pokemon overall, as it is basically is a god on a rampage that can't even control itself. The Ultra recon squad tells us that after their society damaged necrozma and caused it to become what it is now, it went on a rampage, and within like a week, every single star in the night sky was gone.
10:19 scariest part is that Froslass so humanlike that it has its own beauty standards, its own opinion on conventional attractiveness for not only other Pokemon but humans, too.
As a kid I always thought Regigigas was scary just by looks In the dark its cry its noise it makes in the anime and its strength but when I got older i realized it had slow start and I no longer see it as a nightmare
almost 99% of Pokémon chosen here are part Ghost Types, most of the ones chosen was based on their dex entry which tbh more like a cool, cute, or goofy looking ghosts instead of scary ones if I were to choose one: Dragon is Giratina (I’m still traumatised by Platinum climax cutscene) Ghost is Banette/Mega Banette (stuffed doll came alive, how is anything scarier than that) Ground is Claydol (so many eyes) Flying is Drifblim (dex entry aside, its face is kinda creepy too) Bug is Caterpie/Venomoth (man, they are TOO REALISTIC) Water is Gorebyss (it’s a deep sea water creature with weird body shape, idk what they’ll do with that mouth) Electric is Eelektrik (Tynamo is cute, Eelektross is awesome, but the mid one is so strange yet scary) Rock is Stakataka (so many eyes) Grass is Paras (Legends Arceus trauma) Dark is Cacturne (imagine being stalked by a horde of this guys in the desert) Ice is Jynx Normal is Porygon-Z (its glitchy movement is creepy enough) Fire is Lampent (its eerie fire kinda spooky) Fighting is Bewear (its pose alone is kinda scary enough, imagine being chased by this man-size bear costume then to be crushed by its hug) Steel is Orthworm (the way the titan one buried itself in sand in the game is so scary to me) Psychic is Hypno (most children is its victim) Fairy is Shiinotic (just look at the eyes)
The one pokemon that creeps me out above all others is Espurr. Something about the dead eyes starring deep into my soul sends shivers down my spine every time I see it.
the scary thing about Parasect is that it's based on a real phenomenon. It's based on a bug that has been infected with a parasitic fungus called cordyceps. Cordyceps are fungi that target specific bugs (there's a cordyceps for every bug) and they take over the bug's mind to find a place for it to kill the bug and release the fruiting body of the fungus.
The scariest thing about literal brainrot contagious fungus, is that some cultures eat the mind-control brain mushrooms as a delicacy. (Much like toxoplasmosis, MOST people won't be harmed by the ingesting of the parasitic entity).
I think Gigantamax Centiskorch deserves the Fire nomination: creeped out by cellar-dwelling centipedes? Here's one that's nearly a football field long. And shoots plasma. And likes to lash and tackle its opponents just to sate its savagery, as per its Pokedex entry.
07:17 in a filler episode of XYZ, Rotom was able to freaking time travel Ash and his friends to the past, so imagine one day, your going in a elevator, a Rotom was just there for some reason, and just decides to travel to the past, (or possibly the future) and your just stuck there, and for what reason? Probably just shits and giggles

Honestly when you said Froslass was the scariest I was surprised, I think Galie is the scariest Ice Type but with Froslass’ backstory I can see why you find it the scariest
I have a fear of clowns but I so not fear the dippin dots of doom
49 is the national dex number for Venomoth so maybe that variant of Yamask died to Venomoth poison? Also really ironic that both the scariest bug types were based on cicadas. Parasect being a cicada infected with a mind control fungus (which there is a real world equivalent that infects ants) and Shedinja being the discarded shell after a cicada leaves its nymph life stage.
Venusaur's bloodshot eyes traumatized me as a little kid from Pokemon Stadium, I hated Venusaur until lately
Honestly, i would include one honorable mention: Litwick.
At first, it is one of the cutest pokemon you will ever see. I mean, look at it. Cute body, cute smile, cute sounds, small...
However, its pokedex entry simply says another story:
"While shining a light and pretending to be a guide, it leeches off the *life-force* of any who follow it."
Now, i'm not sure if this is something that Litwick does by default and can not control or if this is something that they do on purpose. One thing for sure: this is one of the last pokemon you want to be near you.
Litwick is horrifying though
Cynthia would have straight up poverized me.
nah, satan didn't make that, he made calyrex shadow rider
That's literally what Jaiden says.
Blacephalon accually has eyes, the dots on the sides of its head
i’m absolutely terrified of Muk 😭 that’s because i had a nightmare when i was rlly young where i was getting chased down by it. at the end i fell off a cliff and thought i was safe until it came down and suffocated me in its slime. i was like 9.
How much you wanna bet that most of these are going to be part ghost type?
And you were right.
Yep you're right
To me beedrill is one of the scariest pokemon.
Fun fact :in the sun and moon manga blacephalon had a sideways smile
Polosand has over millions of sand grains so that means millions of souls 😨
You could probably have a wicked boss fight with one that like, takes over a whole beach or something, or maybe a whole dessert!
Palossand uses bones as weapon from their dead victims.
I'm surrprised Drampa didn't make the list. The weird human face on the a snake body that goes on rage fits that destroy cities is... too much for my comfort lol
Chandelure (my favorite Ghost-type) is also pretty scary, here are some entries of it:
White: Being consumed in Chandelure's flame burns up the spirit, leaving the body behind.
I'ma be honest Banette is my absolute favorite pokemon just because it's so creepy. very happy to see it make the list!
I didn't know people found Blacephalon scary. To me, he's just a little goober. I mean yeah it probably wants to kill you and would never be your friend, but he's still silly and will always be one of my favorite Pokémon.
18:58 Bro you made me f×cking choke with my soda when i heard that 😂😂😂
I'm willing to bet the mural on Runigerus is depticting the Darkest Day. It is shaped like a serpent or dragon, which could be meant to represent Eternatus. There's no way to know for sure though...
To make the scariest Pokémon of every type just have the type of the Pokémon your talking about and slap on a dark or ghost type onto it simple enough
So assuming the weight i found on sand is right (2mm sand particle weight 11 miligrams and roughly 41,235 grains per pound) Palosaand wights 551, meaning it should be approximately 22,720,485 grains of sentiment sand. They out number us exponentially
Scolipede is a 2 meter tall centipede centaur. Pure nightmare.
Litwik will literally eat and like children's soul and it likes children who are younger.
I'm trying to think a bit outside the box, and I'm also trying to avoid Pokémon that are part Ghost-type or Legendary.
Normal - Bewear (It hugs you until it snaps your neck).
Fire - Centiskorch (I don't like centipedes)
Water - Basculegion (It's a large freaking piranha...)
Grass - Trevenant (It was hard to find a scary grass type, so I had to just go for something).
Electric - Xurkitree (This guy is just freaky and weird).
Psychic - Jynx (I just don't like Jynx)
Ice - Also Jynx (To elaborate, I acknowledge that there are both Ice & Psychic types that are scarier than Jynx, I just hate Jynx, which is why it's on twice).
Brazilian here, i hope that if they make a region based on here they add a new mosquito, otherwise knowing how common they are in spring and summer we wouldnt stand a chance, immagine 20 buzwholes swarming the front of your house for half of the year
I am scared of ghost type Pokémon, mostly because they’re the most traumatic ones of the decks entries
I never thought of houndoom as terrifying until I saw that Jasmine art...
can i just say based of pokedex entries that snorlax is horrific in the age of pokemon legends arceus. it can kill off entire villages because it felt hungry
The only thing I’m really afraid of is eyes, specifically stuff like praying mantids, but the one Pokémon like that I actually like. So if I had to say the scariest Pokémon to me is Bewear, namely cause that thing was made to be terrifying in the anime
The scariest to me is Hitmonchan. Anyone ever see that hold Pokèmon animation with Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur? That poor Hitmonchan…
Darkrai became…imagine you have to sweetest dream ever and next thing you know…you see a whole Darkrai who starts making you see horrific things
Surprised jynx wasn't mentioned, that thing always came off as nightmare material. Also, dang, palossand is basically S1 Muholland but without the fantasy dream illusions.
9:10
Non-Ultra Necrozma is definitely a major contender for scariest pokemon overall, as it is basically is a god on a rampage that can't even control itself.
As a kid I always thought Regigigas was scary just by looks
In the dark its cry its noise it makes in the anime and its strength but when I got older i realized it had slow start and I no longer see it as a nightmare
almost 99% of Pokémon chosen here are part Ghost Types, most of the ones chosen was based on their dex entry which tbh more like a cool, cute, or goofy looking ghosts instead of scary ones
if I were to choose one:
Dragon is Giratina (I’m still traumatised by Platinum climax cutscene)
Ghost is Banette/Mega Banette (stuffed doll came alive, how is anything scarier than that)
Ground is Claydol (so many eyes)
Flying is Drifblim (dex entry aside, its face is kinda creepy too)
Bug is Caterpie/Venomoth (man, they are TOO REALISTIC)
Water is Gorebyss (it’s a deep sea water creature with weird body shape, idk what they’ll do with that mouth)
Electric is Eelektrik (Tynamo is cute, Eelektross is awesome, but the mid one is so strange yet scary)
Rock is Stakataka (so many eyes)
Grass is Paras (Legends Arceus trauma)
Dark is Cacturne (imagine being stalked by a horde of this guys in the desert)
Ice is Jynx
Normal is Porygon-Z (its glitchy movement is creepy enough)
Fire is Lampent (its eerie fire kinda spooky)
Fighting is Bewear (its pose alone is kinda scary enough, imagine being chased by this man-size bear costume then to be crushed by its hug)
Steel is Orthworm (the way the titan one buried itself in sand in the game is so scary to me)
Psychic is Hypno (most children is its victim)
Fairy is Shiinotic (just look at the eyes)
The one pokemon that creeps me out above all others is Espurr. Something about the dead eyes starring deep into my soul sends shivers down my spine every time I see it.
Chandellure and Gengar not being here was surprising. I thought they'd be shoe-ins.
The one I’m scared of most is a maushold. It may not do much but it’s a catalyst for a lot of disasters in vgc
the scary thing about Parasect is that it's based on a real phenomenon.
20:03 why is Shinji here😭😭
The scariest pokemon for me is Kricketune. Why? HAVE YOU HEARD IT?!
I use to be scared of the whole Palpitoad line, and I still don't why, or how it stop
The last one hits close to home since I have seen things.
I have Thalassophobia so i guess if i was in the middle of an ocean seeing a Sharpedo, Eelektross, Gyarados would turn me into a Ghost Type.
