You did a very good job of explaining how this dashcam system worked. Fortunately for me, your video helped me figure out how my dashcam worked, even though my dashcam has a different name. I just purchased the WiMiUS 12" 2.5K Dual Lens Waterproof Backup Camera with Full HD IPS Touch Screen, Super Night Vision & Sony Starvis Sensor/G-Sensor/Parking Assistance on Amazon. The owner's manual that was included left much to be desired. Guess what? It is the same system and the same menu as the dashcam in your video. Just a little different look on the back of the mirror. I really appreciate your video.
How did you like the WiMiUS 12?
@@TheGentlemanJim While the resolution of the cameras are good, the monitor/mirror is not bright enough for daylight. The video gets washed out by the reflection of the mirror. You can adjust the display up and reduce the reflection, but it is not a satisfying way to look into the monitor/mirror. Everything else is okay. But I would not buy it again.

@@rashaun3454 I bought it from Amazon. It lasted 2 years before the battery expanded and nearly burst. I wouldn’t recommend it. It might cause a fire.

@@rashaun3454 the second generation of that mirror is only 11 inches wide. They removed the original 12 inch version.
Right now I’m using the Retiger F7N Dual Dash Cam. I bought it from Amazon for $139. Let’s see how long it lasts. So far so good though.

1. How is the mirror quality (dashcam switched off)? Double pictures, blurry? Or is it comparable to a real glass mirror?
2. The device is really big. Do you see parts of your face in the DL12 mirroring? I find it distracting when I can see myself all the time in the mirror while driving.
3. Does the red dot in the upper left corner always blink when the device is recording? If yes, can this be switched off?

Pete I hate being smart..lol I see what comunity is mostly about.. views and subs. After guy copied my vid he gets more views than ever..old freinds that use to call me brother.. on his channel now calling him brother and still ripping on me. Has more people watching him than me after his stunt..so comunity likes that ?? I just supported new guys and gave support didn't think making people look bad would be supported. I did fly over people? Much worse than what he did?... met the good people. Friends for life. Was fun while it lasted. Went and checked out..still ripping on me too.. amazing.. I thought I was supportive of hobby? Was having so much before chance attacked... wish I never posted that vid.. use to have fun playing songs.. making vids. Is what it is right. World going to hell. I'm old just want to get my cabin and live out the last years of my life.. I really dont like bullys or hate. It angers me too see what the comunity is all about. Sad too cause I watch alot and I know about all in comunity.. at least ones making vids. And its dieing.. we both know this I think? There still making fun of me too? Just now it's my old friends too. You and me dont play those games.. too old but others do. And I don't want to part of a comunity that does that. This is my second Akaso product (First one was stolen due to a break in). I had the previous version of this model, and decided to get this one. Although I feel this one is more intuitive than the previous version, I can't help but feel like the back up/rear camera is better on the old model. This one has more pixels but the playback is fuzzier, whereas the previous model the picture was grainier but the playback was crisper. Not a fan of the clarity on the new model back camera :(

Oh I take it off when parked out in the heat. Everything burns up in the heat here but if you park in the shade mostly it should be fine :)

of sound level recording changes, maybe cut it way back
in sensitivity? The engine isn't that loud, and has a great
sound but recorded with this unit sounds like really poorly

I have this camera, my mounting oportunity is unique, I
had to mount it upside down. Is there a way to invert the
footage within the unit as it records? The monitored images
self correct to show right side up but the tf card when
loading into laptop reverses to upside down.
Very good video. I have one and am impressed with all the features. For $110 or less on Amazon I consider it to be a great value. I too am wondering what the "streaming " icon is all about. I am going to try to see if it somehow allows the video to be streamed to my phone or tablet for easier viewing. Two final thoughts: 1. I agree that the glare on the screen could be a deal breaker for some.
2. Be careful where you attach the GPS unit, I located it in an area where the tint on the windshield interfered with signal and had to move it.
If anyone has an answer as to what the "streaming " is all, please shout back.

Have you ever tried to play like a movie through a/v input? Like instead of plugging in the rear camera try to plug in a a/v media player.
Unfortunately, the audio video port requires a 2.5mm cable so I am unable to test.

A lawyer friend of mine advised me to turn off the speed recording because it could affect any court proceeding. He said that for instance if your speed is recorded at 56 mph in a 55 mph zone the accident would possibly be described as that you were speeding. So can you turn off the speed recording or is it from the GPS unit? (I bought this model via Amazon and am just waiting for the 128gb card to arrive)
I'm not sure if you can disable just the osd but disconnecting gps is for sure.

Just bought one and it's too bad it doesn't record the rear camera only the front. Also, the camera shuts off when your car turns off because most cigarette lighters turn off. I was hoping it recorded while In park mode over night.
Update: So I figured there is a drop down menu when I swipe right while recording the front dash. It allows you to also view the rear cam footage.

mine records front and rear at the same time. connect your cigarette lighter to the battery power directly from another source in the fuse box for continuous recording but your battery may run dry.

It works if you have it on. But if you turn if off the mirror would be blurred out and you can not see anything. I took my off because of this.
