This NikoMaku is great for a mirror replacement camera but otherwise... I like this one the best for windshield mount solutions ua-cam.com/video/1qiNn07zGNo/v-deo.html
I spoke to a friend who is a lawyer and he said to remove anything that records your cars speed. For instance if the chip tells lawyer of someone who is saying you were at fault in an accident because you were doing 31mph in a 30mph zone. Therefore you were speeding. I unplugged my GPS. My personal preference is to keep the rear camera on at all times. If i want to see what’s ahead of me... well I just look out the windshield. 🙂
Great review. Had a few questions. Does the back camera change when you put it into reverse? or does the camera angle get wider. Also What do you think of the 10 inch smaller one? For this one the screen took up the whole mirror but on the advertised 10 inch one it seems like it doesnt use up as much screen.
Appreciate it‼️ for the guidelines and automatic switching you need it hardwired to the reverse lights but it will still record without doing that, just no assistance and you'll have to manually switch to the reverse camera .never had the 10" sorry
Really nice 12" LCD mirror, especially with the integrated mount option. I think currently this is the only 12" LCD mirror with an integrated mount. I wish its price is more competitive. There are 4K 12" LCD mirrors with GPS, voice commands, 2K front & 2K rear option, and all the functions like the Niko Maku for about $128 on Amazon. Unfortunately, this one is only 2K front / 1080P rear and it's priced at $180, almost 50% more!.
I thought I bought the same camera.. Only difference I see is that it doesn't say max(box doesn't say max but listing did say max) appears to be 1080 only not 2k.. Anyway my software seems completely different.. Is there a way to update software?
I have these for more than two years. Unfortunately the touch screen has stop working. If you have similar issues please let me know if this can be fixed.
Great video and it made me decide on this camera system. So thank you for that. However it erks me that you didn't show how you fixed the upside-down problem. is there a setting for it or did you have to remount the camera?
One issue I had noticed and I am not sure whether this is a software issue but the information on the rear view panel has the data upside down even when the rear video was inverted to its right side viewing setting. Was this something you could not correct in the settings or is this an oversight by its software developers? Thank you for your review of this product. I found it useful although I will need to further research this particular dash cam. Were you able to test and review other products of similar design as this dash cam? I think a feature that would be a tremendous function but did not notice I didn't see, is a function to transfer the data recordings off the device via wifi, Bluetooth or ability for the device to upload to a third party cloud service or even through use of a usb port & cable. I think it would be a hassle having to remove the SD-card every time you wish to view or further archive the recorded contents outside of the dashcam itself. Have you heard of this alternative. AKASO DL12? If so, I am interested to hear your thoughts.
Now that you've had this one a while, how do you like it? Can you have it default to the rear camera when the vehicle starts? I am looking for something for my Jeep where I can't really see out the rear window because it's plastic and scratched up and there's a giant spare tire back there. So I would like to use it mainly as a rear view mirror connected to the rear camera so I have nice rear visibility again, but I don't want to have to swipe it every time I get in the Jeep, if that makes sense. I like that it replaces the mirror instead of just clipping onto your existing mirror, that is definitely way sexier than most of these things. Let me know if you can, and thanks!
it has a cable to trigger the reverse camera (while in reverse) but if you want reverse to auto come on/always be on you would send constant power to that cable (tap into the same power used to power the screen)
Any idea about the size of the OEM windscreen mount it will fit? Mine looks to be the right basic shape but I can't seem to find any dimensions etc. Vehicle is Australian Ford Falcon BF and I'd much rather use the OEM mount as opposed to rubber bands.
Hi Jabber, sorry for bother you with this old publication, but I really need your help, I bought this cam few weeks ago by eBay, the thing is when I turn on the camera I have a messenger where said the DVR will power off after 60 seconds and I can't do it anything, when I finally can use the the dash camera, I can't press the option in the mirror, do you have idea what I can do or where I can ask for answer? Thanks and really sorry for bother you.
What is your favorite mirror dash cam out of all the ones you tested? I’m specifically looking for one that can be seen clearly in all light conditions.
How did you get the in line power to work. I had in line power with the camera I replaced that worked but this one won't. I do not want to use the cigarette lighter plug. I purchased the suggested kit and put it in. No power to the camera!
You can install it with the image right side up... I just installed it upside down due to how my setup is. Since I don't use the backup camera it wasn't a big deal for me
Hi! I was wondering for the parking assist when reversing, do I really need to hardwire to the lights? Do I need to hardwire anything? I prefer not to because I have no idea how to. I would greatly appreciate your response
For the life of me, i can't seem to get the rear camera to work! I literally just bought this same product a second time. Same issue. I connected the rear camera, i can tell it sense some signal cos i feel a lil warmth on the camera. But the icon doesn't show on the mirror, indicating that the camera is not detected. Can u plz help?
@@TheJabberTech I used the supplied charger. To test the product b4 routing on my car,I powered the mirror, connected the 4-pin of the rear view camera to the 4-pin of the AV wire. True. I believe they show the adapters on the amazon page but can't remember as the one that shipped with the cam worked for my car ,pretty much universal
I have these capital letters (A, B, C, D, E,) on the bottom left. Can't figure out what they mean... They show up if I click/touch the screen with all the other display icons.
Does every single electronic rear view have cameras ??? I already have a front, rear, and interior HD video camera, and a backup camera. ALL I need is an electronic rear view. My car has absolutely terrible rear viewing. Seems kind of stupid to pay for 53 bells and whistles I will never use.
What is the use of the GPS? Why did they add GPS to dashcam? Is this for fancy dash cams that tells you are speeding? Coz the dashcam GPS can't tell where you are right? That is not its function that's why you have navigation in modern cars with big screen GPS. So basically the GPS is for beeping you if you are speeding. That's ok then but that's the only use. Besides some cars have already this function when you speed it's beeps when you go to the other lane, car beeps when you have a car in your blind spot the car beeps basically the car already have the function that this dashcam GPS does like redundant or you if you have a 1999 Toyota Corolla then this dashcam is good it gives you all the bells and whistles the car doesn't have but if you have say 2016 models or newer the GPS is a shit feature just redundant. Also the backup camera like why, our cars already have built in backup camera which are way precisely installed in the factory. Now we have two backup camera views, which will you use like confusing. Ah okay if the original backup camera is damaged then you can use the dashcam reverse camera but for now you have two views when backing up, which will you use??? Geezzzzzz. In fairness, the OEM attachment is great, as the reviewer has point out, the time of sticking our dashcam to our rear view mirror are so 2008. It's ovahh. No need for that crap. This is the only so far dashcam that has this feature. I have checked all dashcam in amazon.ca and no dashcam comes close to the feature of this dashcam. You guys wonder why all dashcam looks all the same but with different brand names 😂 but if you look closely It's the same like they have the same manufacturing companies and all of them just subcontract it lmao but yeah going to the topic. It's a shame it doesn't have a dashcam from amazon.ca..i have to go to amazon.com to order this dashcam but it is 149$ plus 49$ shipping and duties fee so it's gonna be like $250 more or less Canadian dollars.
it records the speed to the video file with the gps. This mirror is not for folks with newer cars. We don’t all drive new cars that already have these features.
