I’ve been watching y’all since the beginning and Will has progressively become a great bassist. Always impressed by his playing.
That intro where he missed catching the Spectracomp tho 😂
I swear by this compressor at every gig. Thanks for showing it some love.
Every single demo you guys do, Josh is the only one playing actual bass parts you would play with a band.
I've used a BBE maxcom dual channel compressor with sonic maximiser rack mount unit for years but this little pedal seems to do the job pretty well.
The TC Electronic SpectraDrive, which combines this compressor pedal along with overdrive is outstanding! It is also a DI/preamp and has Aux input and a 1/8” phones out. I bought one brand new on Reverb for $165 (usually runs $185+). Sounds great and it has never failed me...
Liked solely and IMMEDIATELY for that intro toss 😂😂
A great sounding compressor!
Great production. I would have sworn your were going direct.
Sounds great!
Best compressor I own.
In my opinion, the SpectraComp is the best compressor on the market, because it is a multiband digital compressor that allows the user to access every possible parameter, unlike any other compressor pedal. However, I have never found any of the available toneprints to be useful. But unless you know how to actually program a digital multiband compressor, you won't be able to access the power of this unit. Fortunately, I do, so I use a custom toneprint that I feel works much better than any of the factory toneprints, which all have far too much makeup gain.
I have and use this pedal also. Makeup gain would have been fine if there were also a volume knob of sorts, so for this reason alone I believe this is a terrible beginners pedal. Nobody wants to connect up and adjust the settings via software just to normalize the gain for each toneprint.
I agree. If I like a TonePrint, I go into the Editor & adjust their makeup gain to be more balanced.
Yes, best compressor on the market for those who like to spend hours of their time messing with incomprehensible parameters to achieve imperceptible tone differences for nobody to notice. Anybody else, just play and IF you really need it (you don't if you already ain't got another one), here's the reason to buy it: is one of the cheapest.
Paolo Moretti Maybe it's not for people who have ears that can't perceive subtle tonal differences, but for those of us who can, and who take the trouble to learn what the parameters actually do, it works just fine and only takes a few minutes to write a toneprint.
For bassists who are looking for training wheels and rubber baby buggy bumpers, I recommend the Boss BC-1X, which is also a digital multiband compressor, but Boss takes most of the options away so you can't hurt yourself. It's optimised for bass and so can only be used for bass, but for bass, it's wonderful, and is, in fact, now my main bass compressor, the SpectraComp having been moved to my guitar pedalboard, where I use it for acoustic-electric guitar.
It would be a good pedal if it would have a Level knob otherwise it is a toy.
I want to get one of these and replace the electronics in my Squier Jaguar Bass with passive pickups and this. Dunno if it's possible without additional routing... If/when I have the cash, I may attempt it.
SWEET! 🤙🏼
Nice 👌🏻
Is the best on the market for £50???
What is Jamie Lewis playing?
Длинный обзор на педальку с одной ручкой..))
What happens if it is used with Darkglass B7k Ultra v2 ? Does it effect the sound with a heavy distortion or not?
Just an idea, but why don't you throw in the most compareable cheapest pedal on the market as a low anchor?
My base sounds completely different but I'm maybe able to compare them better when I know how e.g. a cheap Behringer compressor would stack up.
Spectra Frisbee... 😂
I need help here. I use two basses. An MTD 5 string with active pickups and a Four string Jazz that is passive. I’m interested in the spectracomp so that I can change settings for each bass but, do I need Wi-Fi connection to be able to do this? Not all venues have Wi-Fi.
No WiFi needed
The Bass Channel so how do you switch settings on the fly?
@@dkp2112 You hold the smartphone (app) up to the bass pickup I believe
@@dkp2112 Pick a good overall sound because you probably aren't going to be changing Tone Prints on stage.
No volume knob kind of kills this for me. Its only 70 dollars on amazon so I might get it for the hell of it and try it out. you can return anything on amazon ....
You can make your own preset where the knob is volume, thats the beauty of it
Should I buy a preamp for this compressor?
Not necessarily for this pedal (which I own) but imo a bass preamp can really give you the tone you seek. There are many great preamps so listen to as many as you can and do your homework.
Shame u guys don't show how to edit the presets...
欲しいなあ!

From Japan !
Not sure what you wrote my friend as I can't read the kanji, but I speak for all of us on the channel when I say we would love to visit you in Japan someday! I've always wanted to travel there! Thank you for the support!
I strongly suggest that all bass players who think of this device as good should try a truly good compressor before they go on.
This one is not. I tried it on stage and in my studio and find it below par. A huge choice of settings through TonePrint does not cut it.
Most sounds it renders in this video would not be really usable on a band recording.
Frankly, I find it awful... and I own TC Stuff for about 20 Grand.
Compressors are for suckers.
Lmao this pedal makes a massive difference for the better on my rig
I guess you don’t like recorded music.
Kind of an interesting choice, to click into this video....
