This thread is fake. The real reason was that a dictionary maker proposed simplifying American English. Here is the real story:

You can lay the blame for this offence (offense) on Noah Webster, an American lexicologist of the 18th and 19th centuries who wrote and published the first American dictionary. Webster advocated far-reaching reforms in written American English, saying: “Let us then seize the present moment, and establish a national language, as well as a national government.” Not all of his dreams for American English took hold, but enough of them did to make the first rip in a tradition that eventually tore apart - to become, in the quip of George Bernard Shaw, “two nations divided by a common language.”
Webster published his first dictionary, titled A Dictionary of the English Language Compiled for the Use of Common Schools, in the U.S., in 1806. Theres a guy that plays Runescape, username is Yogosun, that has over 3,000 days put into the game... on a single account
Found him on Facebook about a year ago, he still plays actually, however, 3000 days is simply not accurate, he started playing RuneScape in 2002, and to have "over" 3000 days after 18 years you need to have been playing for 12 hours a day, which is simply not true, he has taken breaks and he has completed an university course, and is currently working. He does have a lot of play time, but not 3000 days.

EC stands for "Entry Clear". It clears the current entry without erasing your previous entries.
If you add a bunch of numbers and you mistype the current one you are inputting, use EC to get that entry and keep going.

If I still played the game now like I did from 2005-2011 I would have 910 days played on my main, however because from 2011 I started playing a lot less (still played every xp) I only have close to 600 days played which includes both retail and wow classic. I had 120 days played before BC even came out 😂

@NizzyNizerson These make up such a small percentage of the overall achievements. Obviously I was referring to the tedious boring ones like crafting, exploring, quests, collecting which probably make up 80%+ of all achievements.
btw:
mage towers achievements were super easy with the right gear and legendaries, especially for some classes. for example affliction lock, if you had slow ring legendary you basically auto completed the mage tower lul
and dungeon achievements are indeed easy and tedious yes

I would just like to point out the played calculation... although the calculations are right the 4 year played time is assuming he played 24/7 nonstop. So, correctly applying the numbers. A played time of 1,450 days is actually equivalent to roughly 9-10 years straight of 10 hour day with no days off.

How long has asmon been playing WoW? 10 years? and only 4 years playing WoW? 34800 hours out of 87600 = about 9.5 hours a day every day for the last 10 years. It's even lower than that if he has been playing more than 10 years. Now, how many hours do you spend at work and/or for work? 9 hours a day working and say 1 hour a day traveling work-related. thats 10 hours a day. That equals to 2600 hours a year. Now reduce that with your holidays hours (about 240 hours a year seems reasonable) resulting in 2360 hours a year, or 23600 hours in 10 years. Sure, he plays more than someone with a regular job is working, but think about this: who here is working their dream-job? Only a lucky few.
How is that posible? he has 900 hours played, yet some achievments like "Champion of Narru" and "Hand of A'dal" you cant even get anymore, those was a TBC only achievments

A functional day for most people is ~ 16 hours. Using that figure puts him closer to 6 years of spending every waking moment in that chair.
If you're considering this as his 8-5 job it's 10.5 years of working 7 days per week or close to 15 years of a Monday-Friday.

Some of the achievements are for being the first of your servers to get to max level. If you're are able do do that I think that buying a boost only saves you something like a day at most XD

Do you have any idea how much time he needs to spread across the game, what a time saver just buying a boost vs weeks/months of progressing 6-8 hours a week. :p

So is this going to happen every expansion now? Everyone acting totally surprised that someone completed all achievements. This is happening for years now. So everytime new achievements are added there's this big fuzz about the guy who completed them first. Like it never happened before.
