thank you so much! So many tutorials just say "go to system settings on your mac and mirror it to your ipad". I couldn't ever figure out why I never got that option. Now i know we need bluetooth enabled, same wifi network, and needs to be signed into same icloud (I have one for work and personal). Thanks it finally worked for me.

Thank you for the video, very helpful! I just wanna emphasize one more time. Make sure your Ipad and Macbook log into the same Apple ID COMPLETELY. I didn't change my Apple ID for iCloud after logging out of my old apple id. You know Apple device basically allows you to use different id for Icloud and Media. So there's one more step to go and save your time.

Yes you can have a wired connection to an external monitor and also use the ipad

Ipad will work as an external monitor so you can't use it. you can control the shared screen on ipad via macbook's track pad.

Yes you can, under the screen mirror button on the top your mac you can select “Hide Sidebar”

Is there a way to get the touch capabilities on the iPad to work while using it as a second screen? Right now I can only use my mac trackpad to access the ipad while using it as second screen. I cant find anything about this online
You can use the touch bar on the iPad screen but the entire screen is not touch enabled unfortunately
