    I completely agree with your closing statement in that Jan Gustaffson conducted himself so well that most people that watch that video will have a positive impression of him. He came off as very likeable.

    I was watching all JG's banter blitz at that time, and it was easy to see when he was very frustrated. But, it was impressive that he could keep it professional while building up steam.
    If you want to do a funny contrast, have a look at KingsCrusher's reactions to unknowingly playing Carlsen in Lichess tournaments, where MC plays some sort of bong cloud. 🤣

    This is chess fun, not serious play. I don’t think any serious take on these games make much sense.

    You could have mentioned that Magnus never let his prize money pay out at lichess.
    07:56 Jan Gustafsson is a legend, a strong GM, co founder of chess24, Banter Blitz host, twitch streamer, commentator, Magnus second and
    coach of the German Natiional Chess Team. Can you really imagine that he wastes even a second thinking that he is best known because of this "stupid joke" and that this is his legacy online?
    I have known him since 2014 and I cant.

      Lol I’m sure he doesn’t spend much time thinking about this game so many years later. Nonetheless, it’s his most viewed video, thus my comments. Anyway I was perfectly complimentary of Jan. I like him as a player and a person.

    Just playing a chess with his boys... if nothing is at stake that should be completely fine, it is a game after all.

    He is taking the advice because he doesnt know if we wouldve found the move or not and he is competitive and best payer in the world and probability says he wouldve found it. We must also take in to account that he very insistently says it is cheating, and counters both advisers to the end, giving them no slack at all!

      online chess cheating is rampant - the odds were infiitely higher it was a cheater than that he was playing the best player in the world, smurfing on a random account. Your comment is a lttle all over the place so not sure what it's insinuating, but I don't think it should be held against the guy that he thought it was most likely a cheater.

      @@andersj91 i was just saying Carlsen unwillingly happen to cheat because he received advice from his crowd, he acknowledges it and keeps pointing it up till the end that he unwillingly cheated because of his crowd, practically telling them to take care and not do that again and also apologizing and excuses himself for it.

    a couple months ago after some kind of win (sorry for the lack of details), magnus did a quick post interview. anyways they asked him something along the lines of "so when you got home (to finish out the remainder of the games) you started playing much better, is the vibe better there" to which magnus instantly replied "well at home i can see the.." he stopped dead in his tracks and stuttered a bit and changed it something like "yeah i feel more comfortable at home". I've seen some games where magnus tends to look away at the same spot many times while seemingly trying to hide it. anyways if u looked into that i think it is interesting to say the least. especially that interview. I can't imagine anything that he could've finished that blurted out sentence with that would be normal.

      oh yeah, some time ago somewhere someone said something or something to that liking. Which confirms Magnus is a cheater, what the hell are you trying to get at here?

    • @andersj91
      @andersj91 24 дні тому

      What is this comment? He's the number one player in the world in OTB chess and has been for forever. The insinuation here that he might be cheating is moronic. He also plays with people sitting next to him (like in this clip) ALL THE TIME.

    • @humanbean3
      @humanbean3 24 дні тому

      @@andersj91 all im saying is theres a chance magnus, hikaru, everyone can at least look at the eval bar at times...
      even the best of the best are tempted to do this. you dont realize how competitive ppl can be.
      btw almost everyone that streams high level shooter games uses cheats as well. the game Escape from Tarkov: almost every single streamer is using a cheat of some sort.
      I know chess isn't the same, but when its so readily available and easy to do compared to video games, that makes it that much more tempting.
