Lol, local spot three hours away. I’d literally be running out of Denmark if I drew 3 hours in any direction 😅 beautiful photos as always 😀
haha, well it takes three hours but is not that far, perhaps 150km but is on logging road so is slow going.
Mads any chance u or adam visit each other and do some forest stuff...luv to see that
Woodland photography can be the most difficult landscapes of all to get good compositions. You showed a masterclass in this video of composition and waiting for the right light.
To your comment at 12:18, that was us last weekend! Our first visit there, and the last spot on our VI bucket list before leaving this beautiful landscape. I’ll certainly miss it, but as always stunning images of these stoic giants that I hope continue to endure.
Thank-you Adam. You are truly the master of tree photography. We can learn so much as you talk us through your composition options. A mini-masterclass!
Your videos are IMHO much better when you are on a solo trip Adam. Great explanation of how you composed that pano. Thanks for sharing.
Fabulous to have a location that can be visited again and again in quick time. That is surely a great option to keep improvising. Liked the first image.
Hi, I'm Adam Gibbs - Welcome to my Master Class.
Your videos continue to inspire me to think differently when I go into the woods. Thank you for that. And your photos, as always, are beautiful.
Adam you make Forest photography the best I’ve ever seen! Beautiful shots and that B-roll @ 10:40 so beautiful!
Awesome idea Adam, moving the camera around so we can see what you are looking for was really enlightening.
Two points I'd like to make. 1) The British Columbia tourism folks should be paying you a handsome sum if they're not already. 2) You have too much talent for one person; thank you for trying to spread it around with these gorgeous videos.
Beautiful photographs of beautiful trees. Our few stands of old growth are impressive, but nothing like those.
Another awesome video ! I really liked how you gave the pov and moved the camera to show the seperation of the trees.
Hi Adam, the way you always introduce your video's with music sets me up every time for an absorbing insight into your approach into the art of landscape photography.
Adam, I love your stuff. Watching this particular video gave me an idea to make sure I have someone suitably dressed with me to provide perspective to large trees. Then, while watching your B roll walking through these trees, I thought about photographing these in low light conditions/after dark with a model and different forms of lighting. Thanks! You always add value to the photography community!
Adam, the images are exceptional! I would definitely hang such on my wall. When you were walking among the trees you were looking like a dwarf in the woods :). By the way IMHO you have the best channel about landscape photography. Always very educational and interesting content
What an enjoyable video. Adam Gibbs at his best and taking us through my favourite type of environment - forest.. I love the images.
Your videos are such a joy to watch. B roll on point, always the best background music.....and can't forget about the fantastic images from RAW to final edit. Thank you for sharing your thought process....you are a joy to listen to...not everyone has the gift to teach as well as you do . Cheers.
Hi Adam, first apologize for my English, I am writing from Chile. I have seen almost all your videos, I admire your work a lot, but in this one in particular you have made me see the true concept of the composition. I think you have changed the way I see photography from now on.
Greetings.
Jorge-
Another great video Adam. Your ability to see compositions in such surroundings always amazes me.
Great images. I have been photographing trees for a while and have struggled a little. Your discussions about composition and simplifying have been very helpful, thanks.
Adam - that composition demo you did with your vlog camera was the proverbial dogs bollards ! Just to have it explained while watching it on screen without cut's or dissolves is literally the best teaching aid I've seen anyone use. Particularly great for people like me who struggle with composition. Would love to see more particularly with wide angle's / seascapes etc - maybe even use the video from the actual camera itself. Anyway brilliant , thx.
Really liked the last image in particular
Beautiful images. I can't get enough of your coastal forest photos. That's probably because I live on the bald-ass prairie. I was just thinking about how much your VLOGs have improved over the years as far as editing and your comfort in front of the camera. Well done sir!
Magical Forest !!!😍
Really nice! That shot @17.00 was really stunning!!
Great images. I really missed this kind of videos, where you are alone in local places.
Your woodland images are absolute magic Adam! I just wish we had old growth like that around here, it's so inspirational!
Excellent photos! I really enjoy the way you present your ideas of compositions as they help me in my forest landscape photography.
My shoot locations wish list keeps growing! I'd travel 3 hours for that. And in the rain. Gonna need to find an RV park for a central base next year once we are all free to travel again.
super images .... I keep forgetting about the option of panos in woodland photography .... they really add another dimension to some compositions.
Another Masterclass in composition, Adam. Great video!
The color in those GFX RAW files is incredible.
This video would have to be rated as beyond superb. Your total focus /time and effort spent on the PERFECT composition is an inspiration to all of us. I loved every second of this video & it’s made me put mote effort and Planning into every move I make before/during and after the shot. Perfection plus Effort Adam is going to be my goal from now on. Beautifully explained and presented. Neville J. Western Australia.
You capture the forest well Adam. Thanks.
It's good to see you not complaining about the light 😉Great images as always, especially the panos 👍
I agree the photos in particular the trees as objects in the photo look very immersive.
Just felt compelled to say i've been watching your videos a while and this one was fantastic. Stunning footage and compositions, nevermind the actual photography itself. It's quite an achievement and you just float through it so effortlessly and stress free. Impressive footage of the journey and the video is just so well put together. I hope you are making good money you are a one man TV production company, great show, thanks
Love your videos like this one Adam where you are creating order out of nature’s chaos. This is the messiness we work with a lot in the Pennsylvania/Ohio/NY region.
Very nice video. I like the way you give us time to really see your images in depth and slowly enough so we can feel the mood.
Beautiful forest scenery & images!
Yes indeed. What would be interesting is a detailed step by step of your dodging and burning on one of your shots.
I have videos of the processing they are part of the membership that I offer through this channel.
Wonderful mood in those dark woods, miss the variety of trees you have, mainly conifers here in Colorado, at least my part.
I'm always amazed at your eye for a picture in the chaos of the locations you visit and how you create an ethereal image that captures the beauty that I couldn't see, that's such a talent and you constantly lift my heart with your work. I keep trying to visit my local woodland area but have yet to be truly inspired although I always enjoy being in nature itself. So seep up the fantastic body of work and I'll look forward to being more inspired by your trips into the natural world and the captures you share with us lucky people.
Thanks, John!
Thank you for sharing your creative process and vision! Lovely images.
Adam, I am not sure these images scream buy me, but I sure love the chance your video gave me to see these majestic fantastically huge trees. Something I will never get to see in person and this video gave me that chance, thank you.
Those panos really work well, and the light cooperated perfectly. Glad you didn't need to use the bear spray. I still can't get over those giants.
Really enjoyed your photos and video, and your description of your thought process for the composition.
I wish I had your talent. Images were stunning.
I especially enjoy hearing your thought process while working out a composition. Your photographs truly stand out in an ever growing, vast community of landscape photographers and I tend to believe that is due, in large part, to your seemingly masterful way of sorting out and composing a given scene.
Area and images are just gorgeous! Thanks!
Really like how you explain each of your shots. Enjoyed the video, thanks......
The photograph in this video are absolutely fantastic. There's a lot to look at into the panoramic images, lots of details. Great job!
Wow. This is the awesome, your video really shows off the scale of this trees. Quite unbelievable!
I'm an avid follower of your channel. You are a very inspiring photographer.
Thank you very much, Adam! It's very interessting to witness your creative process and to learn about the criteria that are important for you. The photos are brilliant in my opinion.
I'd sign up for that hike. Loving your videos Adam!
Brilliant video and amazing images. I am particularly endeared to your desire and effort to explain your thought process for composition and it is clear to see why you value light so much. Thank you Adam.
Amazing pictures. Absolutely amazing.
As always great, but that last one, wowser. Beautiful.
Adam - stellar work! Keep 'em coming as they are very inspiring.
Hi Adam, beautiful work, great images, the most I like about your work is the inspiring connection with nature letting me feel at peace just watching the video, thanks!
The extra effort you've been taking to get more footage to edit with is certainly paying off. Great stuff :)
Boy oh boy is your B-roll getting good! And your music choices for this one were spot on (esp. the brooding tones of the Cheewhat Giant shot). I doubt any of us has a clue how hard you work to bring us such wonderfulness.
Great lesson about composition
I liked the very last photo. It had a better balance of shadowed area and the background lighted areas. More range in the light. Can't wait to tour the park with you and the group in June. 👍
Great video again! Wonderful images! Thank you for that.
Love the images, looking really nice, and thanks for sharing the tips for compositions.
I kept expecting an ewok to jump out from behind a tree 😄 Beautiful photos as always - I particularly like the 2 image pano at the end and the one of the path winding through towards the start of your walk.
Appreciate your thought process and I like th last pano shot
Great explanation of separation. Thanks!
Very much enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing Mr. Gibbs. That forest is just too awesome, a place I could see me in shooting for s long time.
My jaw always drops on the quality of the shots you get in these places where I would, probably, just walk by. My favourite is the final one (around 20 mins in the video). The forests we have here in southern Finland are very busy photographically (not unlike what you show around 10 mins) so it would be *really* interesting to see what kind of compositions you would get out of our woodlands!
These trees are gorgeous and peaceful! I love the drama in your photos! Great video as usual....Thanks!!!
I always love your images. I once spent five months in Whistler, BC and these shots totally capture the look and feel of the forest. I always expected gnomes or elves to be flitting through the trees. By far my favorite photographer.
Kudos for your efforts on this one Adam. Those steep, slippery, roped trails can be brutal, and the thought of going down one only to go back up to get the camera kind of makes my flesh crawl. Thanks for doing it, although you’ve made me feel particularly lazy as I watch this while drinking my coffee this morning. That huge tree is magnificent!
What a magical place.Worth the 3 hour "local" drive :-) Great explanation around the compositions as always - thank you.
Great stuff, loved the last couple shots! Thanks!
Loved the ancient feeling created by sheeting from the shadows into the light. Nice balance created by a true artist. Great photo to hang in the office or home.
'That light is just beautiful ....eh' 🤣 Always enjoy your photos
Great shots Adam. I'm local myself, but can't get out as much as I used to (looking after my invalid Mother). Watching your videos is the next best thing to being there and your photography really does our island justice. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the love Adam. My sister-in-Law offered to look after my Mom for a couple of days and my Brother and I are going to the Cumberland potholes this Saturday, then Campbell River for the night. Do you have any recommendations for rarely shot waterfalls in the area. Have to make it back to Qualicum Beach by 4::00 on Sunday, so something close by preferably. Thanks again for your inspirational videos, it was watching this that made me organize this adventure (to me anyway).
Excellent production. I feel like I could watch this in the library with my pipe and cognac.
I liked this already, but that double stitch Pano deserves another like all to itself. Great vlog again Adam.
Great vlog, awesome photos. As we speak packing my camera bag and heading out to my nearest rain forest. Very inspiring.
Wow Adam really enjoyed them Panos especially, just awesome trees!
Adam thanks so much for sharing your thought process while you are composing an image. I learn so much when you do that. Nature is chaotic and I often struggle to find a composition. Cheers!
Tha last capture, the two image pano was my favorite! Beautiful
What a beautiful forest. Love the texture captured in your images. Beautiful work!
Thank you, Adam. I love the feeling of silent awkwardness among the dark forest. I can almost feel the dampness of the moss and ferns. Beautiful.
Love these instructions. Thank you!
Beautiful panos and photos. As usual!
Beautiful
Great shots Adam. Gave me some things to think about in approaching my shots in the forested areas here in the Okanagan. Difficult to cut through the chaos here too. Thanks and keep up the great work!
The shots were stunning and I do love the processing, specifically the second to last (single shot framed cedar) with the dodging and burning which dropped the ferns to allow the eye to travel into the frame. Amazing atmospheric feel.
Have to say once again great photos your skill is quite high sir
Great images sir! As always, your video is instructive and inspiring.
Awesome shots and b roll, well worth the effort
excellent spot exceptional photos, this time you gonna take home something really special, congrats
Always incredible images.
As always Adam top-class video really enjoyed that those last few images were lovely very nicely edited indeed. Those trees are so stunning I can see why you like them so much great video thanks mate
