This video just grabbed me the way your earlier videos did back when I became a subscriber. I love the simplicity, the excitement, and just following you through a morning of shooting.
I know you love your B roll & all the production Tom, but it was wonderful just hearing the excitement in your voice & the look on your face...properly enjoying yourself 👍 B-roll can be overrated 😉
The image of the horses at 16:15 is epic! I can visualize a cropped version that captures the lower portion and emphasizes the horses and their breath. Good shooting! 👍👍👍
Your enthusiasm is infectious and enjoy seeing how you approach photography for each experience rather than have a process regardless of environment. Great job!
That was probably one of your best vlogs ever Thomas! Less b-roll, more images, just how we like it. I’m so miffed that I returned from the Lakes 2 weeks ago and missed the big snow. Thanks for entertaining us so well. John
Great to watch this Thomas with all the doom and gloom going on at the moment, this was good for the soul and despite your reservations about some of your images they were all fantastic
Thomas, When I decided to really get into photography 18 months or so ago your channel was the first I came across and have been with you since. For me it was the photography, not the B-roll, that drew me in and has kept me. I have to say that whilst I know many like the recent B-roll upgrades (and I can see why you did it as a business thing) I do think it's detracted from some of the photography SO personally I enjoyed this episode more than any for some time (with the possible exception of the f4 antics episodes!). I don't think it a co-incidence that you seemed more energised being a photographer rather than a film maker! More of this type of vlog please.
Wow! Just WOW! What stunning conditions and location. Beautiful captures also! I learned years ago as a landscape photographer that getting the "image" was sometimes a bonus- that just being there to witness (call it a religious experience/kid in a candy store moment/personal revelation or whatever) was the real reward. Sure - its the goal to bag the trophy shots but being excited about your surroundings and what you are privileged to see grows your character and your craft. Great job Thomas.
One of the most relatable and enjoyable videos you’ve done. I would venture to say that this is how the majority of your viewers shoots. That is, get a late start, get excited about the light, and then start shooting comps that look good. I sensed that excitement that most of us experience when conditions are good and don’t have to think about much more than setting up the tripod and making the image. Well done Thomas!
I enjoy all of your videos, but it is great seeing you out there with a spring in your step and joy in your heart. It's how I felt when we had snow here in the Mojave Desert on Thanksgiving Day. It's a great feeling!! And the wild horses were icing on the cake!!
I really liked this episode! 😀👌 No b-roll just your excitement for doing something you love. It feels like you are back! 😊 This is the Thomas I started to follow!
That second shot looked like an oil painting. I honestly would have found it hard to believe it was a photograph, had I not seen you on location! What an incredible light, combined with the way the snow had "painted" the trees from one side. A rare and very pleasing scene.
I absolutely enjoyed this video. Such a nice natural look of you enjoying some great condition and making a few images. I loved the tree image at 16:00 and then the wild horses image was fantastic.
This video is so much better than the last ones. I loved your enthusiasm and all your shots - and your video was way more interesting with your focus on photographing!
Thomas-- one of your best videos in a long time. I really like the 1st shot and the horse shot. The enjoyment you displayed today has been great-- Keep it up
I'm really enjoying the f/1.4 lens and the effect on the M50. Maybe it's the softness of the background, maybe it was just a beautiful day, but it's a spectacular effect. I also appreciate that you're keeping your SS consistent. Very beautiful. I love the horse photo. What a neat treat for you.
Thomas, the new 1,4 lens on the m50 is pure gold. The bokeh from that lens is just buttery smooth and makes a huge difference in the quality of the videos 👌
Hey Thomas! Thoroughly enjoyed this video, felt a little more rustic and you came across as really excited, especially when the wild horses made an appearance. Your second image was my favourite, thanks for sharing.
Thomas, me and me girlfriend always enjoy your video’s very much. This was the best one of the past months. The photo’s you made were so good! They showed the good time you had.
I know that full frame is heavy but it has added a massive dimension to the B Roll with the separation you are getting... the Bokeh gives you a 3D effect. Great Video. So beautiful.
Tom--thoroughly enjoyed today's video. Perhaps I satisfy too easily but your first two images were wonderful with the second resembling a painting. The shot of the horses reminds us of the definition of serendipity (right place at the right time) and the tree at end was a fitting end. Four images from one day in the snow made my day. Others, too!
Beautiful images. 7.48 I didn't think was too cluttered. It was a very interesting shot compared to an isolated tree. Both work. Magic with those horses.
Another incredible video, you work so hard, but the results reflect your hard work. Amazing stuff, thanks Tom, image of the horses so beautiful. Till the next time.
Nice wee video Tom and despite the weather in the UK in general being crap and finding enthusiasm to get out is harder, what a day you got there and superb images and as always inspires more than just me mate. Keep them coming, thanks for sharing.
One of the best and most enjoyable videos you've ever made. As primarily a wildlife photographer (but enjoying all other genres!), the horses image was outstanding :) More like this one please ;)
Wow, the second setup looked like it was a photo background. To be honest, I like the B roll better than the picture. Very happy to see you have such a nice time on what could be the last snow day available. Without hesitation I watched this vid twice.
Another excellent video. Love the image of the horses. Lucky to get a glance of them. That hammock for the tripod is a master stroke so simple, yet useful. 👍
Had to check for moment there whether I'd somehow switched to Morten Hilmer's channel...Thanks - great video and also great to see you enjoying just taking images!!
I actually like videos like this one more than the usual ones. With a lot more photographing and less b-roll. It feels more like your first videos 😜. Beautiful photos as usual BTW.
Thomas. I always prefer these types of videos to the ones with more production. They always seem to me more "real". Nice work.
This video just grabbed me the way your earlier videos did back when I became a subscriber. I love the simplicity, the excitement, and just following you through a morning of shooting.
@Overlander 123 Me too :-))))
Agreed, brilliant
That image of the horses is astonishingly atmospheric, great cover for a calendar - just saying like.
I know you love your B roll & all the production Tom, but it was wonderful just hearing the excitement in your voice & the look on your face...properly enjoying yourself 👍 B-roll can be overrated 😉
What is B roll??
@@a.keithclarke7975 As Bobby said, any clip without speaking, showing you the place or where the photographer is walking for example
The image of the horses at 16:15 is epic! I can visualize a cropped version that captures the lower portion and emphasizes the horses and their breath. Good shooting! 👍👍👍
Don’t miss b-roll and music. Love the thinking on composition.
Your enthusiasm is infectious and enjoy seeing how you approach photography for each experience rather than have a process regardless of environment. Great job!
It's so comforting to come here and forget about virus updates. Tom is out with his camera and all is well. Terrific images from this shoot.
The horse photo was so beautiful! White horses in a white landscape works surprisingly well ;)
That was probably one of your best vlogs ever Thomas! Less b-roll, more images, just how we like it. I’m so miffed that I returned from the Lakes 2 weeks ago and missed the big snow. Thanks for entertaining us so well. John
"Like product photography for trees"...love it, and loved the shot of the tree framing the mountains. Thanks for sharing Thomas.
I am so happy to see you having fun Tom, not working, but enjoying your hobby!
That second capture and the one of the horses are just epic- What a great morning!
What a great day! Great images too. Loved this video.
Great to watch this Thomas with all the doom and gloom going on at the moment, this was good for the soul and despite your reservations about some of your images they were all fantastic

I like it all, a mix of free filming/editing and some B roll stuff always keeps it interesting. Great Shots Thomas as always.
Wow! Just WOW! What stunning conditions and location. Beautiful captures also! Those are by far my favourite photos, especially love the backlight on the ponies.

The first shot in the video was fantastic, and the shot of the horses was a nice bonus. I like this style of video where you shoot more!
That tree @0:49 I thought was a worthy composition not to say the rest weren’t, very much enjoyed the video, another classic Heaton session.👍
I enjoy all of your videos, but it is great seeing you out there with a spring in your step and joy in your heart. It's how I felt when we had snow here in the Mojave Desert on Thanksgiving Day. It's a great feeling!! And the wild horses were icing on the cake!!

Awesome, white horses in the white snow, beautiful bonus. Lucky for you, but you make your own luck! And thanks for the basket tip!!!
Love the second image in the video. It's got the painterly look.
I like the idea of just enjoying the outing, getting great shots the frosting on the cake. I love photography.
Fantastic episode TH! The shot with the 2 horses .....Brilliant BONUS!
So beautiful was the tree shot but the bonus of the horses took my breath away.
That second image is just so gorgeous !
This video is so much better than the last ones. I loved your enthusiasm and all your shots - and your video was way more interesting with your focus on photographing!
All I can say is thank you. As a photographer whom is flagging regarding enthusiasm, this has been a breath of fresh air.
Thanks for getting back to your roots photography Thomas, most enjoyable.
Great photos to capture the last of winter! It's always fun to be out on those cold crisp mornings. Oh - and thanks for the video of the week! Cheers.
The Stone bag works like a charm... I've had one for a couple years... 👍
Great to see you really enjoying what you do Thomas. So important!!
Wow! Amazing Tom! Looks like you have a wonderful morning out there. I liked all of the images, specially the one with the horses.
I've noticed I smile a lot while watching your videos. Just outstanding! love what you do!
Thomas-- one of your best videos in a long time. I really like the 1st shot and the horse shot. The enjoyment you displayed today has been great-- Keep it up
Beautiful, beautiful place Mr Heaton, amazing pictures, absolutely stunning!

I absolutely love your last two images from this video! It's always special when you can include wildlife in landscape photography.
Epic! Susan Boyle, no filter, in the Lake District .. Beautiful 😉😊
This was definitely a special morning Thomas. The horses just topped it all off. Great images!
You find the sublime and beautiful in the ordinary. Views I would walk past, amazing images
Great video Thomas. Love the shots with the horses - white horses, backlit with beautiful sunlight against that backdrop. Superb 👍👏
Beautiful images. 7.48 I didn't think was too cluttered. It was a very interesting shot compared to an isolated tree. Both work. Magic with those horses.
Boy, what a video... You just keep us on our toes with your videos....
Nice to see you getting back to casual nature Thomas, great video
love the photo of the horse - your joy in the moment really came thru in this one!
Stunning work on the horses!!! Really proves the adage that just getting out is the trick...only then can you stumble across the epic!! Well done.
Another incredible video, you work so hard, but the results reflect your hard work. Amazing stuff, thanks Tom, image of the horses so beautiful. Till the next time.
Fantastic video Thomas, great to see you so enthusiastic about your photography again. All the best.
Nice wee video Tom and despite the weather in the UK in general being crap and finding enthusiasm to get out is harder, what a day you got there and superb images and as always inspires more than just me mate. Keep them coming, thanks for sharing.
Good to see you filming your day as you trekked about a beautiful landscape, stunning images and that bonus image with the horses is beautiful 👌
What an amazing excursion! And gorgeous photos!
I thoroughly enjoyed your video and your awesome bonus of the horses! All of your photos are awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Perfect simple video. I learn so much from you talking your way through your comps. Thank you!

Outstanding! Once in a while nature provides us with gifts when we least expect it.
Love this sort of vid, Thomas. And the Horses!?! WOW, what a bonus just to even see them! Great work.
Dude, love to see you in good mood, love the quality of this episode as well - amazing light, great place!!!
Beautiful images. I loved the one of the tree with the mountains in the background. The horses were definitely a bonus. Thanks for sharing!
Really, really enjoyed this video. Nice to see and hear you happy and "running around" 😉
One of the best and most enjoyable videos you've ever made. As primarily a wildlife photographer (but enjoying all other genres!), the horses image was outstanding :) More like this one please ;)
Think i might like these videos more than your b-rolly videos Thomas, as they're just raw , frantic and real....thanks for the inspiration again!
Awesome images Thomas. What a beautiful landscape
To me this was one of your best videos this year! So natural and inspiring. More like this please
Wow, the second setup looked like it was a photo background. To be honest, I like the B roll better than the picture. Very happy to see you have such a nice time on what could be the last snow day available. Without hesitation I watched this vid twice.
Last two shots are exceptional. Well done.
That second image of the trees is amazing! Looks like everything is blowing in the wind and about to fly away.
I think the photo of the horses may be the best of the bunch. Very well done!
so so nice to see that excitement and enthusiasm back thomas 👍🏻 it’s been missing for a while.
8:20 love it!
Great video and great images. It's obvious you were enjoying your morning
Another excellent video. Love the image of the horses. Lucky to get a glance of them. That hammock for the tripod is a master stroke so simple, yet useful. 👍
Had to check for moment there whether I'd somehow switched to Morten Hilmer's channel...Thanks - great video and also great to see you enjoying just taking images!!
with the snow and stuff
What a stunning location. The video alone is worth the watch and I think anyone would be satisfied with your compositions.
Another epic video and images from Tom, great work man.
I watch and enjoy every video you produce. I have to say that this was one of my favourite videos to date. Keeping it simple and about photography.
You got some great shots today! All of them. That light was fantastic. Those horses are just beautiful.
Actually a love all the images from this video, especially the one with the two gorgeous wild horses. Enjoyed the video, Tom! 👍
What an enjoyable video! The images you took are gorgeous too. Top marks for this one Tom.
I really enjoyed watching this. Great to see some snow and you enjoying getting out and capturing some beautiful photos. Love the tripod pocket too.
Thanks Tom. What a beautiful place.
I actually like videos like this one more than the usual ones. With a lot more photographing and less b-roll. It feels more like your first videos 😜. Beautiful photos as usual BTW.
