I’ve been following (not stalking) off and on your career trajectory, Adam, since the 1990’s when you, Michael Wheatley and the late Fred Chapman (of the Burnaby Photographic Society) were photographing frost patterns on greenhouse windows. And giving slide (remember those?) presentations at Abbotsford Photo Arts Club Seminars. I was a member of the Coquitlam Camera Club in those days. You showed promise then, and have definitely not disappointed since, maturing into a seasoned pro, a supremely accomplished artist. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of landscape photographers who have most inspired me to pursue this re-emerging passion of mine. You, sir, are prominent among this number. Now that I am retired, I can no longer fall back on the excuse of not having enough time to get out into the woods, fields and seashore near my home and shoot more. Living on Vancouver Island for the last several years, I can still, however, use the excuse of interminable rain. 😊 I am glad I recently discovered your Channel. Thank you for sharing your creative insight here in these videos and for re-igniting the flame in me. (Let it rain for a little while longer, ;-) ) That being said, I hope you are, on occasion, able to manage to wiggle free of this UA-cam commitment, to take a single tripod, camera and lens into the forest and do some shooting for yourself. P.S. Valentines Day is coming up. Don’t forget to take your significant other out for dinner Mr. Gibbs.
I've said it before, but have to repeat - that your drone shots in the old growth forest are as good if not better than the footage in specials like Our Planet / Planet Earth. Always look forward to your intros, especially in old growth like this. Truly inspiring.
Epic, epic video. In the 3rd transition at 1.36 before the ariel view on right hand side There’s a formation that looks for all the World like a large caped and hooded figure from Lord of the Rings. Stunning!
I don't have much experience in photographing in the old growth forests - living in the Arizona desert - so I really enjoyed and appreciated the thoughts behind the photographs. I see you working with mirrorless as well. I too started in large format 4x5 (which I shoot occasionally), to the DSLR and now I'm transitioning to mirrorless (Nikon Z7). Always enjoy your videos, thanks.
Thanks guys... I'm ( 6 ) days late here. The opening scenes with the drone was quite special. Your approach to understanding the light & working around it has helped me immensely Adam. I try to pay closer attention to this very important detail while setting up my compositions... Bill on the Hill, Vermont... :~)
The UK has woodland. The Pacific Northwest has forest. I consider them very different. I wish we had more old growth forest like that left in the Northeast US. Beautiful images & content!
great to see you using the fuji, really like to see how it works with creating landscape photography even for the 50R model that's made looking like a street camera , its certainly is very good to do many more things like landscapes shown in this video with many beautiful scenes. looking forward to more videos with the fuji and you testing the camera to it's limits.
In these days of bringing the highlights all the way down and opening the shadows all the way up it's nice to see the way you allow the light and shadow to compliment and/or compete with each other. Nicely done, Adam.
It seems weird watching your videos and not seeing Gavin and watching his and not seeing you. Anyways, I think you have some of the best drone footage on the UA-cam!! Great photos as always and thanks for keeping me inspired to get off my duff and go photograph something...
Fuji? Fuji!? Did I awaken in an alternate universe or miss something whilst on the surgeon's table? Interesting. I will enjoy seeing how your brain works out the comparison between the two. I never tire of your old growth imagery.
Every time I watch your forest vlogs I think, "I would have walked right by that amazing image". You see things that the rest of us walk right by. True talent, that.
Love your thoughts about light being very important when photographing in the woods. Most of us are just looking for some unusual or interesting setting of flora. Your work is beautiful. Living in Pennsylvania near a lot of forests generates my interest and causes me to appreciate your talent. Thanks for sharing your skills.
Your composition at ~11:30 is outstanding, Adam! Fantastic photographed from the shadowed area to the brighter one and that yellow sort of ferns back there, pull the eyes perfectly back there. I love it. Thumb up of course ;)
Adam, The new opening isn't as, uh ...quiet. Very tasteful drone work, as always and I love the overhead view of you guys on the boardwalk. Are you liking the GFX? I've been shooting mine (GFX 50S) for most of this year and find many advantages to the large sensor and files. Regardless of the tool, you make the images look great! Thank-You, Mike
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I wish that I lived near an old growth forest to photograph. Sadly, when one doesn't have their own vehicle, options are limited. There is a forest behind where I live that I've never ventured into before. I might give that a go one of these days. I look forward to seeing more photos. I'm intrigued by the medium format photos and what you will share with us in the future.
Great comeback of the droneintro Adam. I loved it. I find the abstract with the trees awesome. I mean the light is great. I realy keep this one in mind. Thnx very much.
Love your work Adam. I am big fan of your videos and hope one day to visit these amazing forests in the US. Also love the music on this particular video. Hope you can share the title. Thanks a lot and keep inspiring us!!! 👍🏻
Loved ththat opening sequence. Really set the mood for the rest of the video. Beautiful place for woodland photography and some gorgeous shots - thank you.
I love these woodland shots. Very Serene. Based on vlogs I've seen from other landscape photographers in the UK I do believe your friend's assessment is correct. The woods in this part of the world seem to be more dense. I have to say on the east coast in many areas in the Appalachian mountain range the woods are very dense with trees. Thanks for sharing!!!
Wow what a fantastic location. The drone footage really shows it to its best. The vertical trunk shots are amazing. I don’t think the wobbly? Tripod has sacrificed anything. Maybe lightweight is the way to go. Smashing images. More
That drone footage in the beginning was beautiful, I dunno how many times I played it again and again. Well, and those RAW files from Fuji were pure gold, love the fuji colours!
Great video. Really held my interest. The opening drone scene was 5 Star quality. Really enjoyed your explanations and discussions about how you arrived at the compositions. The images were great. I liked the compression you achieved with the 100-200.
After watching this video I wish that Dee and I could have booked an additional day with you and we could have visited this area in addition to the other great places you took us. That said, we had a great time for the three days we were there. I really liked the images at 16 minutes...beautiful.
fabolus idea with the broken tree in your intro. Did you hit the gnome? 11:30 awesome composing, not better than, these are my moments to be grateful to catch it.
That was great, another place to visit. And you motivated me to stop doing home renovations for the afternoon and head out to the woods with my camera. Thanks.
Interesting about the white spots. I kind of hate them too but used to include them because it seemed natural, but I think I'm going to avoid them more.
Hello Adam! Very nice pictures. I really like your moody kind of Editing! Can you please show us your actual Editing Work flow? I would highly appreciate this! Lots of love from Germany and all the best for you and your beloved ones! Tobias
Another great video, Adam. Thank you for the insight into the thoughts which lead to these fantastic pictures. The horizontal image of the tree trunks is very well done! I really like it.
The quality, even on my ageing iPad is superb - must be the Fuji? Forests and woods can be so dark, that I think you need to go for whatever light presents itself! .
Such beautiful trees! Your approach is so right in terms of waiting for the light and adjusting to the light! Very strong believer in light making an image. Nice to see Paul in your vlog, hopefully trying to sort out a collab very soon👍🏻 take care mate lugging that big Fuji about lol 😂
Amazing stuff Adam. The detail in those images is so good but glad to hear you aren’t giving up on the Nikon. I’ll be interested to see how much you use the Nikon though because that Fujii looks impressive. Wish I had time on my recent visit to the island to check out Carmanah because it looks awesome. Well done once again Adam!
Awesome trip Adam really enjoyed it and a fantastic video to go with this beautiful area . Hope I get some shots half as good as this and I will be happy. Cheers mate 😀👍✌️
I had a very hard time deciding which images was the best. They were all so beautiful, but after seeing the video a couple of time, I`ll choose the image at 12:21.
As usual a great series of images. As a BCer I am well aware of how difficult it is to capture good/great images in our rain forests. As for the drone footage, you are an absolute Master! Nikon and Fujifilm also happen to be my gear of choice.
Wow, Adam, that was a superb video! Your opening sequence was pure cinematic awesomeness and a genuine pleasure to watch!! Amazing images as per usual...I absolutely love your forest photography 👊🏻
Wow, those trees! So beautiful and love the abstract trunks. In this part of Wales the forests are very dense and cluttered with brambles, would love to have forest like yours...or nice beech forests!
Thanks for including all the detail on your evaluation of the light in each scene. Loved the drone footage and music also. In other words, great video.
Very enjoyable video, your music fits the scene perfectly. Would love to hear the story behind your Fuji camera and how you like it. Lovely images and post processing.
Wow! What a beautiful location. Wish we hade more old forests in Sweden. We do have, but not near where I live. Here it's mostly managed pine forests, however, there's pictures to be taken here as well. I love your images and I'm really jealous on you for those beautiful locations. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. @n.palsson.photoart
brilliant adam, the more I watch your vlogs the more i'm understanding light and how you use it. Question... most of the time what would your white balance settings be Thanks

You truly are the king of the wood. Another cinematic experience from Mr Gibbs.
Abstract, close up, square = 👍👍👍
I've said it before, but have to repeat - that your drone shots in the old growth forest are as good if not better than the footage in specials like Our Planet / Planet Earth. Always look forward to your intros, especially in old growth like this. Truly inspiring.
Thanks, Alex!
Fantastic work Adam. Opening slide through the trees is quintessential Gibbs! 3:40 - Spectacular shot!
Love the video, awesome images and your Drone footage is always so on point. The intro section is just incredible.
Fuji performed immaculately.
Amazing, awesome, inspiring drone footage on the lead in. I love the image at 10:22, 12:50, 16:50. I love the mossy wet woodland.
Beautiful woodland views & great filming. Thanks for sharing!
We love the Brandteig, we love the Brandteig, Brandteig forever, we will love it till death.
Especially filled with fresh cream.
What a nice woods and photography, Adam. Thanks for sharing.

Love your work mate, esp @9.00 minute mark, what a sensational shot!. Inspirational work mate.
First time viewing your work. Sterling stuff. Very inspirational.
Solid intro. So simple, yet so beautiful and powerful:) As always, your work is top notch, Adam.
What can i say Absolutely beautiful I need to go back to Scotland to look at tree's in a totally different ways keep the videos coming cheers Jonathan
Love the tonality and detail of these images. Very inspiring indeed! Thank you.
Thank you sir!
Concratulations and welcome to digital medium format! I'm so excited and looking forward what's coming on your channel!
My first digital camera was a medium format camera back in 2002, a Mamiya 645 with a Kodak medium format back, 12mp, lol
The UK has woodland. The Pacific Northwest has forest. I consider them very different. I wish we had more old growth forest like that left in the Northeast US. Beautiful images & content!
Those Fuji colors......why we like'em.
The forest shot at 12:00 is freakin' awesome! Well done, Adam!
Very nice tone to this video. Extremely pleasant to view. Thanks.

Great video Adam. I’m inspired to try more woodland photography!

Atmospheric fog 😎, I need to get on a plane to Canada. Great video!

Well and truely you are the "Lord of the Trees" - wonderful woodland images!
Your composition at ~11:30 is outstanding, Adam! Fantastic photographed from the shadowed area to the brighter one and that yellow sort of ferns back there, pull the eyes perfectly back there. I love it. Thumb up of course ;)

Can't wait to hear about the Fuji. I was like "hang on, what is Adam doing with a Fuji???" But jeez, they produced amazing pictures!
Wow what a fantastic location. The drone footage really shows it to its best.

Beautiful Adam .... some really great results with that light filtering through ....
11:30 is just unbelievable! This soft touch of orange is perfect! Wow!
Great video. Really held my interest. The opening drone scene was 5 Star quality. Really enjoyed your explanations and discussions about how you arrived at the compositions. The images were great. I liked the compression you achieved with the 100-200.
What a fabulous forest and great light and you really have done it justice Adam

@5:30 so true!
Gibbs classical at its best. A stunning opening scene and a lot of interesting considerations on ligth and composition.
Amazing drone footage!
fabolus idea with the broken tree in your intro.
Did you hit the gnome? 11:30 awesome composing, not better than, these are my moments to be grateful to catch it.
Absolutely stunning images, every one of them. The drone footage, always nice, was especially fine today too. You're the best, no kidding!
That was great, another place to visit. And you motivated me to stop doing home renovations for the afternoon and head out to the woods with my camera. Thanks.
That’s one of the rare UA-cam videos with lowest number of like to dislike ratio .. good job Adam !
Tobias
superb as usual, a bit of light on a dull day back in the UK, the opening drone sequence was amazing
Wonderful images throughout Adam.
Stunning intro for sure. Images were fabulous...you captured the light perfectly.
Really impressed with the opening sequence and the photos were exceptional. What a beautiful place.
Another great video, Adam. Thank you for the insight into the thoughts which lead to these fantastic pictures. The horizontal image of the tree trunks is very well done! I really like it.

Yeah I think you and Paul would probably get along really well Tom!
Adam Gibbs hopefully, I’m sure we will👍🏻 he seems like a decent chap!
Beautiful images, as always Adam! Thanks for the video ✌
Amazing stuff Adam. The detail in those images is so good but glad to hear you aren’t giving up on the Nikon. Absolutely beautiful, I didn't realise photographing trees could be so mesmerising. Thank you.
What an intro. Best I’ve seen on the Tube yet. Second to none. Outstanding work, my friend. Now you’ll be up for Videographer of the Year. 👌👌👌
Thanks Adam, lovely forest 😍, I think Thomas Heaton should join for a photoshot in this forest. 👍
The shot with the trees filling the frame was my absolute favorite.
Wow, Adam, that was a superb video! Your opening sequence was pure cinematic awesomeness and a genuine pleasure to watch!! Amazing images as per usual...I absolutely love your forest photography 👊🏻
Been enjoying you older style videos a lot lately!
I love your old-growth-forest photographs the most among your other images :)
Another stunner, Adam. Congratulations!
Wow, those trees! So beautiful and love the abstract trunks.
In this part of Wales the forests are very dense and cluttered with brambles, would love to have forest like yours...or nice beech forests!
Exceptional drone footage and beautiful images. You have become quite the drone pilot.
Love this old forest vlog. Can't wait to hear how you scored the GFX50R.
Thanks for including all the detail on your evaluation of the light in each scene. Loved the drone footage and music also. In other words, great video.
Class shots
Amazing photographs, drone footage and park!
I thought I noticed a Fuji GFX, Can't wait to see more images from it. Loved this video, some truly beautiful images Adam.
Stunning photos as allways 👌
Excellent
Very enjoyable video, your music fits the scene perfectly. Would love to hear the story behind your Fuji camera and how you like it. Lovely images and post processing.

I leave it on Sunny but it doesn't really matter since I'm shooting RAW files
