i used to watch this video so often that it inspired me to clean my dad volvo s80 2011 even though its not mine...but still im having fun cleaning it...but one day my dad had to sell it cause in malaysia the parts for the car are quite expensive that is why dad sell it, i was kinda sad but theres nothing i can do....but after few weeks....my dad says that he wanted to have a new volvo soon he said...and then i was like thats cool...me and dad both like volvo.... but all of that are end for me now😔because my dad just died 6 months ago...i love you dad...i promise i will make you proud of me....i will having back what have you were dreamt of...miss you dad..... ~ Your son
Wow what a story, I've been cleaning my dad's Volvo for a few years now, I did the leather today, so it touched me. May your dad rest in peace. I hope one day you can buy yourself a Volvo (or another car) that your dad would have been proud of!
I wish I could clean my Volvo so quickly and thoroughly! 😉 It looks better than mine when I picked it up new from the dealership! I was aware that the seat backs and some areas of trim utilise colour and grain matched vinyl - it's very common in the automotive industry and some leather furniture also uses the same material for low use areas such as the backs and lower sides of sofas and armchairs. With modern techniques it's almost impossible to tell from just looking as there are so many different varieties of vinyl finish. Thanks for the video and more top tips. 👍
Hello from Spain, congratulations on your videos. I follow him very carefully, and I thank him for all he teaches me. I could make a video in which he installs the 12v socket in the trunk. Thanks once again.
I’ve always been impressed how clean you keep your Volvo. I would be reluctant to use Dawn on the leather for fear it would accelerate the leather aging and cracking. I use a Volvo leather cleaner and conditioner product. Mothers also makes VLR (vinyl, leather, rubber) that works well.
I've gotten into the bad habit of cleaning my S60R pretty much whenever I get the chance. Electric Silver, 6 speed manual. Love the XC70 content and I am actually considering purchasing it or an S80 to go along with my R. My R is my family's third Volvo and second P2. Volvo for life.
Pro-tip: wrinkles, creases or indents from something like a child seat can be restored with heat. A basic hairdryer can bring back the leather to showroom condition.
you can only guess what i'll be doing this weekend! washing inside & out, my 2011 s60. your results look better than showroom condition! thank you for the tips.
I have the exact same car with a black interior. I discovered your videos when I was looking for a tutorial on changing-out my low beam headlight (thanks, it helped immensely). Now I have been watching your videos ALL afternoon except to run to the auto supply store to buy these products so I can detail my car tomorrow! Couldn't find Fiebings 4-Way Care; will order online. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
If you like those floor mats, try to get your hands on the S80 executive mats (should fit the V70/XC70 as well I think), the ones with the thick carpet. I have them in my S80, very comfortable an homey. Only pain is cleaning if you get mud onto them, but other than that I really love them, feeling better than any carpet I have in my house. Nice work on the cleaning job, I wish the previous owner of my car had done something similar, but sadly not. This might seem like a lot of work to some guys, but believe me, continuously doing those small and easy steps is very easy compared to thoroughly cleaning every inch of your leather seats and carpets because someone previously has messed up and didn't bother cleaning it. Took me 3 hours to fully clean the drivers seat (beige leather) from all the gunk the previous owner left me.
+AustrianZoomer I would prefer to invest in new rubber winter mats. They are a lot more easy to maintain. We have a lot of businesses they don't pave the parking lots. I try to keep the car in pristine condition. Thx for watching and giving me feedback.
I read somewhere in Volvos brochures that only the top surfaces are leather. your videos are a pleasure to see. Do a video on restoring the rear bumper cover. Thanks for the good work!
Watching you looking after your car makes me feel I am not the only volvo freak ;) I did know about fake leather on the back of the seats. For cleaning my v70 leather seats I use special detergent based on soap as I heard other stuff may damage the stitching. After clean I use leather conditioner. Both products are from Gliptone and I am very satisfied from the results. Your method looks also very good.
Great video, as always, This is very helpful for me to learn how to clean some parts of my car that i didn't know the best product to clean them. Thanks!!!
Great educational videos man,I’ve my local Volvo dealer (Kerry Ireland)on the look out for a 2016 XC70 for me,hope to get her in early 2021 ❤️ I’d a S60 2.5ltr petrol about 10yrs ago, best car I’ve ever had 👌 PS. A 4 inch paint brush is ideal for cleaning your air vents 😎
min 7:02 you can see the Sweden flag on the wooden insertion on the door..:))i like that...cars made with pride!I love Volvo...i own a V50 momentum..myself...
Nice video as always. You're even a bigger volvo fanatic than I am lol. Most detail places I don't think vacuum the leather seats unless necessary. There is nothing wrong with doing so however. They use a cloth or a pad with a cleaner. Did you spray or put soap on the cars speakers on the doors? I had my car detailed by a volvo dealer. Tan seats are prone to fading, and I actually had to have parts of my two front seats on my s80 reupholstered . They used a leather of the same color but a slightly different grain which was ok by me. I don't know how safe dawn soap is on leather. If no damage occurred with your interior I guess it's fine then. Certainly NEVER use dawn or any household cleaner on the exterior of your car. One detailer told me he uses pledge on his interior and it works fine. You are meticulous cleaning the gas pedal and brake pedal. I also never eat or drink in my volvo, and I don't allow anyone to do so in my car unless they are very very careful.
Love the Dawn dish soap in warm water idea to make your soapy solution. Such a simple (and better yet, SUPER CHEAP) idea that seems to work great on cleaning all the interior surfaces such as leather seats (or in most of our cases PLEATHER--"Imitation Plastic Leather" seats) plastic panels, etc. That is literally one of the best tips I have seen in a LONG LONG time on cleaning the interior of a vehicle and one I am going to give a try myself next weekend on my own Nissan. I love the fact that it brings back the "flat" factory look to all the interior surfaces which I personally love. I don't like the imitation "shinny" look that many products will give to the interior of a vehicle. One other "trick" or "tip" I use, that has worked really well for me, is using a MAGIC ERASER (a.k.a. Melamine Sponge) on the interior windows dipped in a soapy solution. Your soapy solution you use on the rest of the car would be perfect for that application also. Dip the sponge in the slightly soapy solution and scrub down all the interior glass. It really helps to remove the "off gassing" film that clings to the interior windows over time and can be a problem in some vehicles. My Nissan does get that "off gassing" film on the interior windows that the Melamine sponges really help to get squeaky clean. Then follow up with a good quality glass cleaner and a new (cheap) microfiber cloth (to ensure no other films from previous products are on it) and you will have some perfectly clean windows! Thanks for posting this great video on how to simply, but EFFECTIVELY, clean the interior of a vehicle!
Good tips about Volvo maintenance, I plan to buy a Volvo S60 of ± 5 years old and why a Volvo? now I have driven a Renault Safrane 5 cylinder and under the hood was a real five-cylinder Volvo engine and it has never let me down and in addition, as an ex professional driver I have driven a Volvo 540 with iShift, a great car where I have been able to travel many kilometers through Europe, now I am retired and have hung the truck steering wheel on the willows, but I still continue to follow the driver's profession, that will never go eh ha ha
Wow, you still have the xc70? I just recently bought one not knowing anything about Volvo and a station wagon. Finding out it is AWD and 3.2 engine, I'm really loving it‼️
Great tutorial. I never let the carwash staff clean interior. They are dangerous, do scratches, hurt plastic and make streaks. Rule of all rules - find a time, prepare well and do it by yourself.
also i would like to replace the carbon look centre consul that houses the controls . it is scratched and marked where would be the best place to purchase a new one or referred one
yes, i knew the seat backs were not leather. generally, car makers only use leather on surfaces your body will touch, like the surfaces/parts you sit on. more cost-effective.
great job as usual. Did i missing something? Your interior is sandstone beige and the leather seats are soft beige #2112# in their original version. The back of the seat is leather but in your video is textile. I dont know the quality of the leather conditioner i use gliptone, swissvax and for the dashboard and the other plastic the swissvax protecton. Great result
The back of seats on most cars with leather is not leather. Full leather is sometimes an option on very high end cars, but it's often $5k - $10k. This option often includes a leather dash & door panels....
Did the attachments come with the dirt devil vacuum? That looks really good for cleaning a car. My upright is a pain to drag out and clean the car. Great video.
As a 2008 xc70 owner I enjoy and learn a lot from your videos ... I'm wondering if you have any suggestions about restoring the leather on my gearshift handle, which is discolored because of dirt and/or wear.....

im so confused why does your dash look so amazing and different from all volvo xc90s i have seen before yours is so cool and different, all the other ones look so old and plasticy... have you changed anything? even the stearing wheel in different...
It’s a Volvo XC70 not XC90 so that’s why it looks different since V70 and XC70 have a different interior. Also he installed the r design steering wheel and pedals later on.
Great video again! Yes, Volvo's catalog says "leather seating surface" so I do know that the back and sides of the seats are not leather. I like 4 Way Care but you also use it on the non-leather parts of the seats?

in my xc60 the drivers door card is damaged , i think its were the safety belt has recoiled and has put small dents on the top part. by the door lock button how can i repair it.
Hi, having V70 2009, do you have well advice how to clean and conserve car windows in general in particular as Volvo class has a water , dirt repellent ? is recommended to clean with usual glass cleaner or with a soft one ? janwillemketelaar - coconut milk shampoo to clean. Leather likes coconut. Any leather conditioner, and 303 uv protectant on everything, seats dash, bumper, and even wiper blades etc.
Come on down to Australia and help me clean my 2008 Volvo XC70 PS: where do you get low cost parts for your car? Prices in Australia are excessively high. You paid $120Can for your centre console and I was quoted $600+ Aud for the same parts here.
I don't know about Canada or Australia, but in the US you can order parts from dealers online for pretty cheap. I use Tasca as they seem to consistently be the cheapest. Ebay is also good. I agree about the dish soap bit I think you can use pretty much any good leather cleaner. Doesn’t have to be Volvo brand one.

Your videos are so satisfying. I've been watching these all day and I don't even have a Volvo. Keep it up man.
+Compulsive Driver Big thank you. Surprising that you watch without owning a Volvo. Thx!
volvosweden I'll get my hands on one at some point, I've loved their stuff for years.
+Compulsive Driver Good luck. Let me know when you get a Volvo.
I also like to watch videos about Volvo and don't own a Volvo either. Might get one someday.
+Tomaž Šuštar Thx! I am surprised I have people watching this that don't even own a Volvo.
Perfect balance of music and talking! Great job
you can only guess what i'll be doing this weekend! washing inside & out, my 2011 s60. your results look better than showroom condition! thank you for the tips.

Thank you so much...easy, cheap n simple. Was afraid of the quick detailer but will use it too now.
Silicon spray on the cargo protection looks like a new.,.. you are as legend man. Well done.
"Speed up the video" :O NOoo you should slow it down if anything :D I can't get enough of these.
Great video, as always, This is very helpful for me to learn how to clean some parts of my car that i didn't know the best product to clean them. Thanks!!!

Thank you for the very helpful tips to maintain a Volvo, your videos are awesome!
i always forget cleaning the rubber part under the gearstick. But when i remember i go thru all the gears to get the dust from all the rubberpart
Impressive work out! I use just water & 2 microfibers and little bit All Around cleaner on the dirtiest places
Impressive and informative! My car is filthy but next time I do the interior I'm going to try the dish soap.

This is eco leather, in old Volvo there was always real leather everywhere and it was very high quality and durable. Swedes began to save money.
Thanks from Québec Canada
Beautiful car :-)
The serial killer clean up job.
lol ^^ i thought about the same
Wow, you still have the xc70?
I just recently bought one not knowing anything about Volvo and a station wagon. Finding out it is AWD and 3.2 engine, I'm really loving it‼️
You car's just like new.
wow you most do and excellent job many regrets from Mexico, like and suscribe ready.
Genial saludos cordiales desde Patagonia Chile
I just got me a Volvo XC90!
Will fallow your advice on cleaning it!!
Thanks 🙏
I really enjoy your vids....ä and yes, i know it is not leather. No problem!
Great video Thank so much for all the detail.
Some job buddy, well done 👍🏻
Im quite obsessive with the clean up of my s60. I just want to it to endure several years
Great tutorial. I never let the carwash staff clean interior. They are dangerous, do scratches, hurt plastic and make streaks. Rule of all rules - find a time, prepare well and do it by yourself.

Great videos, many thanks!
God ur v70 is clean, when I get my dad's old v70 (the dirtiest volvo v70 in the world) I will have to spend at least 24 hours cleaning XD
Perfect job
Yes very few cars have full leather seats. Its usually only the seating surface. My seats are leather and alcantra so its not as easy to clean them.

Very nice job!
This dude is doing to serial killer clean on his car
Did the attachments come with the dirt devil vacuum? That looks really good for cleaning a car. My upright is a pain to drag out and clean the car. Great video.
outstanding
Do you have DIY instruction how to replace the trunk switch. The trunk opens with remote as well as from inside by the manual stopped working
As a 2008 xc70 owner I enjoy and learn a lot from your videos ... I'm wondering if you have any suggestions about restoring the leather on my gearshift handle, which is discolored because of dirt and/or wear.....
Just get a new one. Restoring wisdom temporary
A Thumb up for moving to the US (i presume).
Canada I believe.
hi, congratulations for your videos. :) what do you think about the results of swissvax leather milk compared with 4-way leather care regarding the glossy aspect, wich one is the less glossy?
I want one that gives the original appearance of the v70 leather seats.
Many thanks.
Avelino

Do you have any idea how to safely install a fire extinguisher in the cabin?
Do you use the microfibre cloths for the paint work too or would they leave scratches ?
I use microfiber on the exterior too. No scratches.
Great video again! Yes, Volvo's catalog says "leather seating surface" so I do know that the back and sides of the seats are not leather. I like 4 Way Care but you also use it on the non-leather parts of the seats?
+Paul Lee Yes I use on non leather parts. I can't see the difference anyway.
so at 6:27 you place your finger over the little ding on the side on the interior, my volvo has one of those same exact marks and i cant seem to find out what is causing it
The pressure from the door closing? idk
also what is a good tool to use to get in between the seats and the center console, i always get little food crumbs stuck there next to the metal seat securing bar things
@@kayla2171 take the seats out or use a long thin vacuum attachment to reach down in the gap.
in my xc60 the drivers door card is damaged , i think its were the safety belt has recoiled and has put small dents on the top part. by the door lock button
how can i repair it.
How do you clean A pillars?
how many miles does your car have? I got the exact same car so your videos is super helpful👌
59000km
What’s the little round sponge using on the leather ? Any type or brand in particular ?
wow you keep your car really clean and tidy! would you mind telling us how long the car has been riden? just curiosity haha
+jiho kim Got the car used from first owner at 32,000km in 2013. Today it has 63,000km. I try to keep it as new as possible. Thx
Hi,
having V70 2009, do you have well advice how to clean and conserve car windows in general in particular
as Volvo class has a water , dirt repellent ? is recommended to clean
with usual glass cleaner or with a soft one ?
Alsoto clear inside class and prepare against mist .Kind regards , thanks for helpfull Videos ! Zoran
Have no advice on that. Never tried.
Think that you missed a bit, like the roof liner ?
+Chris Hall It's in Like new condition. No need to touch it. Thx for the tip
Can I use Tattersall soap to clean? I use this to clean my leather English riding saddle and tack.
I envy how great looking your Volvo is. I have an XC90 but the seats are not as nice as yours! How often do you detail your Volvo like this?
Another great video, thx buddy! Like from me!
P. S. What summer tyres do You suggest for xc70? I trust you more then those scam tyre dealers. 🤣
Can't advice on any. Did not replace mine yet. Still factory Continentals 4X4 are on mine.
Nice video! I drive a Volvo S60 MY07, what is the best solution to clean and conserve a leather steeringwheel? Greetings from Holland!
janwillemketelaar - coconut milk shampoo to clean. Leather likes coconut. Any leather conditioner, and 303 uv protectant on everything, seats dash, bumper, and even wiper blades etc.
Thanks!
You just leave the soap on the seats? no rinsing after it dries?
No rinsing! And it works
Come on down to Australia and help me clean my 2008 Volvo XC70
PS: where do you get low cost parts for your car? Prices in Australia are excessively high. You paid $120Can for your centre console and I was quoted $600+ Aud for the same parts here.
I don't know about Canada or Australia, but in the US you can order parts from dealers online for pretty cheap. I use Tasca as they seem to consistently be the cheapest.
Ebay is also good. I set an alert for part numbers I need, sometimes people who buy surplus inventory dump them on ebay without knowing what they are or the value of the part.
Thanks CK
Are you paying for the flight?:) The center console prices went up a lot after my video. There was high demand for the console.
PolishAngel is the best on the market...
When will the transmission fluid change video be uploaded?
+ZNormT6 Long time ago. Look on my channel.
Found it! Thanks man. I love your videos. They are so helpful when I'm working on my 2011 XC60 T6.
+ZNormT6 Great. More videos will come.
Have you done one on waxing the exterior paintwork ?
Nope. No video for that. But I do wax the car using Zymol Volvo Wax.
