    One of the best clipper reviews I have seen up today, congrats. With this pandemia I also started cutting my own hair with a Conair clipper (very reliable by the way) I had to retouch my sideburns, and I have enjoyed so much that decided to upgrade to this Wahl model Elite Pro clipper, it gets paid itself back after 2 or 3 cuts so it worth every penny and you also you develop a new skill, enjoy it while learning and save some money too. Thanks for sharing your experience and your video, very professional, I enjoyed it!

    I've had this machine since 2016. These are great all around clippers. I fade with this all of the time and you have to know the proper technique to blend (go long to short). I've cut long and short hair and if you make good use of the guard combs, you can cut great styles with it. You may be able to use it for trimming, but I use the Wahl T-Pro trimmers.

    I bought these clippers for about $50(US) and for the price considering all that you get it can't be beat. The guards are very sturdy with metal clips that attach to the machine and alone go for about $30. The machine itself is heavier than just about any other clipper on the market at 2.5 lbs but if you're using these at home for yourself and your kids it shouldn't tire you out. if you were using them all day in a barbershop you might feel like you're in a gym doing curls after about 5 or 6 hours.

    You need to adjust your blades. The top blade tip of blade should be equal distance from the bottom tip of blade from left to right. You have more distance on the right side, in this video. That will cut the hair unevenly and made a fade less crisp. To do this, turn the clipper over to the bottom, slightly loosen the two large screws on the blade housing and manually adjust the blades to give a slight even-all-the-way gap between the tip of the top blad and the tip of the bottom blade. This is a point where you can ''zero gap'' your blades, meaning you leave no space between the tips of the top and tips of the bottom blades, but this is only recommended if you know what you are doing and your kids can sit still, as it is more likely to cut skin this way.

    I am ordering the same clipper, but from the UK and that should be fine as I live in Australia as both countries use 240V 50Hz power supply voltage.
    However, if I travel to US/Canada, which is not too often, it will not work with just a power adapter due to the 110V 60Hz voltage there.
    I do have a transformer I left with in with my relatives in Canada, but that doesn’t change the frequency though.
    However with these motors, it is more important to bring down the voltage, the 60 Hz will only make it go faster by 20%.

    • @wuddadid
      @wuddadid 4 роки тому +3

      @@blackrose5774 It's normal. The hard clicking sound is actually an electrical arc that sparks inside when you flick the ON switch and the electrical current flows into the device. It's a common thing with Wahl Clippers. The arc flash (or spark) is the same thing you sometimes see when plugging a plug into an electrical socket.

    • @wuddadid
      @wuddadid 4 роки тому +1

      I actually could be mistaken about what is making the sound. Although it is common for an electric arc or spark to be present when switching on Wahl clippers, I believe the sound is actually coming from the shunt arm hitting the electromagnetic motor mount due the current/voltage spike experienced as the device is switched on initially. So basically, as the electricity rushes into the device and subsequently into the motor coils, this rush of electricity (current/voltage spike) causes the motor to be more powerful and pulls the shunt arm towards itself, to the point where they temporarily vibrating off each other, hence the louder clapping sound.

    • @wuddadid
      @wuddadid 4 роки тому

      Wahl motors are simple but very uniquely designed and are well worth taking a look at how they work. They can be seen very easily by opening the case (make sure its unplugged).
