Hey, I'm the builder of Ekimu, and I want to thank you for featuring the collab! Everyone did a great job and It's awesome that you were able to get this video out a few hours after the collab went live.
These guys have got a bone to pick with you... You've ribbed them the wrong way, and skull's back in session for a good old fashioned beat down to teach you some manners. They're deadicated to their cause, and there's nothing humerus about it. It'll be a jaw dropping affair.
All the mocs are very talented and theyre all amazing interpretations of the characters, but I admit it would be nice to see the people collaborating have a bit more discussion and cohesion between their builds. Regardless of whether or not they match these are all exceedingly interesting and in a way despite not matching style wise its nice to see builds from what feels like across the entire Bionicle community. And while G2 Wave 2 was easily the weakest bionicle ANYTHING these mocs really help to dispel that from your mind for a good while! Thanks for sharing ben, and I hope all the moc creators are proud and happy with their work!
I loved the Skull Villain's aesthetic in G2. Something about them really popped, and you could tell the design team and concept artists were having a blast making them. It's unfortunate the story writer's couldn't keep up the momentum, they kind of felt like wasted potential. I'm trying to run a Doronai Nui RPG campaign, (Think of it as D&D adapted for Bionicle,) and I'm setting up this plot taking place after the fall of Mata Nui and the reformation if Spherus Magna. A lot of G2 inspiration will be included as well, and I've turned the Skull army into a race of subterranean pirates and bandits called the Kulcratta, who will be a major enemy alongside the likes of Skrall, Vorox, and rogue Bohrok. It's going to be awesome.
What's with the wheels? When i saw it on kulta i thought it was some kind of grinding wheel for more thematic tie-in, and ekimu's looks like it could be put on the hammer to make it into a bigger hammer, but just as well i could believe they're each just ballasts used for the sake of posing, with their designs. And they're edited out of the other pictures moreover. So, do they have a function?
Yeah, the wheels attached to Ekimu and Kulta's weapons are for support. Ekimu's wrists are very, very weak (they're attached with lightsaber rods which was not a good idea on my part) and Kulta's mace is just giant.
I feel like the skull villains had so much potential that LEGO sorta wasted with the final result. One of them was a candidate for one of the worst Bionicle sets ever made, and most of the other ones were just sorta mid.
There was a point where they became glorified parts packs for me. Some of them were actually really well designed, the Skull Basher was my favorite of the bunch, but others, like the Skull Skypio, felt incredibly phoned in. Thankfully, even the worse ones gave plenty of inspiration for future MOC designs, so it's not all bad.

Ekimu definitely has the look of a deity. Then the Skull Slicer MOC kinda gives me tribal shaman vibes with that mask/head design
I can't unsee kulta having a flame moustache 😂😂

I hate you, take my like and shut up.
PUN JAIL! PUN JAIL NOW!
I'm skele-done
Papyrus is SEETHING right now
I will be like what you’re doing keep on doing it❤❤❤
I’ve head cannoned that the Jala swords on the Skull Scorpio moc open up like pincers
I love it
The Skull Grinder and Skull Basher are the perfect revamp in my eyes, Skull Scorpio too.
ah, glad to hear you liked them! (i built basher)

That TTRPG sounds sick man! Have fun!
Some of these give me a real "Bone-Heads of Voodoo Island" vibe. Awesome.
my first bionicals but a favorite, what a classic
This is officially the best Ekimu I have ever seen, super well done!
the revamp for ekimu looks like bearus from dragon ball and i love it.
Hey Ben when do you think you will be doing another matoran episode, because I have sent a couple matoran lately

I'm honestly not sure myself, I assumed it's just for posing like you mentioned, that would be my guess
feels like posing assist, in case the weapon was too heavy for the arm to hold on its own

@@cordax63 I was mostly confused at a support strut being out of flexible pieces, but I guess the friction adders really worked well.
I’m t00 sp00ked
Wish there were instructions for the skull basher moc

I think the concept designs for the Skull boiz were infinitely more interesting than the final products (for the most part, I love Skull Basher)
What's the name of the guy who made the bionicle that is the thumb nail
Can anyone figure out how they attached the armour to the upper legs on skull basher, it looks like it’s just sitting on one of the g2 bones
it just stays on via friction. it's a surprisingly tight fit. i would know, i built him lol
Awesome godlike
