*sob* This is why I'm so proud of being born on the same day as Eric Idle... *wipes tear*. WHAT a rant, all of my proverbial hats go ff to 'im. I wish they'd used Anne Elk again - just looking at John Cleese dressed like that is enough to cause deaths by comedy...And then that voice and mannerisms...Jeez, how funny can you get?!?!
i could NOT stop laughing at Anne Elk. she (or he) kept on coughing and seemed so thick headed. my favorite part was when anne would cough higher and higher. ahahahaha
One of their finest shows. How people can say most of their work isnt funny now is beyond me. One reason is that they broke so much new ground that what ws new then seems familiar now, I think. Note"bandy-legged wop waiters named Manuel". Shades of Fawlty Towers.
I finally realized why Graham looks so familiar in this episode; he has the same hair & a similar nose to conductor Andre Previn. I hadn’t seen his bit with Eric Morecambe & Ernie Wise until this year.
The credits appeared early in the episode (at the five minute mark), 'youtubrgirl', disguised as the end credits of the "All-England Summarize Proust Competition" sketch {see "Season 3, Episode 5-1"}.
well, thats his style. he wrote it see? anything with a really really long line or something that plays with the english language (ex. the detective that couldnt introduce himself right) is his style. so, i guess he remembers them better than the other pythons.
I would like to tell you about my theory regarding sentences; ahem, ahem, ahem ahem, here comes my theory... "It starts with a letter, then might have several letters in the middle and then ends on a letter and a period sign" That is my theory and it is mine!
Well, "new" in the sense he altered some product names and cultural references for an American audience. As for how he remembers it, Eric's a professional so I wouldn't put it past him to memorize the whole thing (I mean if the fans can do it...) but let's not forget about cue cards, it is tv after all...
2:39 "Shut your bloody gob!" he calls the police 2:49 oh take it off the hook, Hahahahahah thumbs up if you found that funny! Tormenting one person at a time lol.
Wait the woman talking about her dinosaur, isn't that Terry in Drag? wow 6 minutes later and Eric is still ranting! Gee shut your bloody gob Eric! And they have to *gong* Start again?! Oh noooooooo!
oh that "clown" is spooky!

Eric does the rant monologue even longer in "Live at the Hollywood Bowl." I guess in principle he could keep it up indefinitely.

Hilarious! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, this has been one of the best episodes yet.

I love Anne Elk's theory....completely her own of course!

@Elric33239 And he had to yell it into his mike while running too...Sheer awesomeness.
"What is it? Where?"😂
Graham Chapman-awesome 60's hairdo
He didn't have to. He improvised the whole thing! In "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" it was even longer!

One of Cleese's funniest characters
03:16-03:20

3:18 3:35 Thank you, Carol!
I never found out; who plays the clown that waves at the audience whenever Eric says “Start again”?
it seems graham tries not to laugh some times

What the HECK was with that clown? Never mind, it's Monty Python.

My favourite part is from 3:39 to the end :P

Hilarious 😂 😂
Are you saying this episode is fast at one end, much, MUCH slower in the middle, and then fast again on the other end?
SHUT YOUR BLOODY GOB!!! xD
I think I snapped a brain cell...
Bong......Start Again
how does idle remembers all those lines?
How does Anne Elk refer to David Sherlock?
Carol is soooooooooooooo beautiful :)
The clown. Does he work for Burger King?
@Capng123 I think we call came that way....
3:38 I'm afraid I can't follow what they say.
