    Great tip about picking up the bar to avoid twists when walking into the wind window. Thanks Ted

    Hi Luke, when i was a newbie, regardless of how well i rolled up my lines I'd come across time consuming tangles when running the lines out. I learned a new safe trick that saves time and avoids tangles. If you have a center line v split, simply unwind all four lines about 1 or 2 meters and connect the two center lines first. Then unwind all 4 lines completely while the 2 center lines are connected. Then walk the two outside lines to ensure no tangles. Connect the outside lines. Now your outside lines and center lines should have no twists. The center lines may be twisted with each other but that's ok. Standing from the kite, hold your center lines and walk them to your bar until you untwist at the swivel. Done! Saved me tons of time and much safer than managing all 4 lines at once. Hope this helps!!

    Really appreciate your videos Luke, thanks for taking the time to put them together. Kiting can be tricky for beginners and I learn a lot from your vids. Your communication skills are great, keep up the good work:)

    Watched a lot of kitesurfing instrux vids and yours stand out for their perfect combination of detailed explanation of finer points woven together discussion of big picture issues that beginners might overlook, and an excited, engaged personality....that is to say, yours. The little tips like the natural way to avoid a full twist by body/arm orientation vis-a-vis the bar are pure gold. Great work and thanks for creating these and helping those of us starting out.

    Nice trick 10:30 when positioining yourself perpendicular to the wind: Grab just the side of the bar you are moving towards.

    I've learned so much from this channel. I'm blessed and cursed in living in San Diego (lightwind capital of the world). Where do you do your videos? Looks amazing

    love your videos!
    just wondering, i'm on the goldie too, what are some really good spacious areas for beginners to learn where we won't get in anybody's way. is that spot just before the spit good?
    also, what are appropriate winds to learn for someone who is 70kg and a 12 meter kite
    last question haha sorry... is it a good idea to take a smaller (8m) kite out in light winds to practice, kind of like a trainer kite?

    Hey can you make a video of what would it happen if you got a line cross or cut?

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  6 років тому +1

      Hey mate, thanks for the suggestion! You can fly your kite with your lines crossed, land it again, and fix the probelm... but if a line becomes cut, activate your safety system immediately.

      Hey Luke. Since it looks that you know DR more than i do. Can you recommend me good and friendly kiteboarding places where to go. I will be there tomorrow and i like big beaches with few people. Do you know any places like that in DR? Thanks mate

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  6 років тому +1

      Hey mate, this is Australia. We spent all of our time in Caberete in the DR, but there are other spots, if you ask some of teh schools they will ahve some ideas/trips to other locations :) Have fun!

      Correct. This is about connecting your lines. Not flying the kite. :)
