This is by far the best video explanation on wing tip settings and impact on changing bar and line sizes..
Could you also explain the settings for the front / bridal settings?

It pretty crazy that the front bridal has so much effect on the feel of the kite. one inch can squeeze the arc and cause pivot turns. where as the other setting allows for the arc to be flattened and cause more loft and lift. Every kite is bit different.... when it comes to how much it changes. Its up tot the rider to play with it. Then on another tech side. every size will also produce a different feeling. Geeking out on setting each size kite up to the feel and style you want for that model is something that takes many many session to achieve. Bridal adjustments in my personal opinion is the most complex when trying to have the same results for each scalable size.

For a beginner wanting to practice kite control on the beach, what length of line would you recommend with a kite 12 size?

If perhaps all else fails and a trainer kite is not possible. If you had something like a single strut or zero strut kite. Maybe 10-15m lines is what Dominican schools use on land

Very cool! What bar size would you choose for 9m and 11m freeride/big air kites? 45/50 or 50/55 cm? thank you!

      40-50cm max
Some pros go 40cm for precise control, it takes a second to get use too but it’s well worth the extra control

4:02 And you can also depower a little bit more, right?
It has a bigger effect, the closer the connection is to the leading edge.
Especially handy on a C-kite... Am I right?

Well “depower” is essentially just a trim strap.all you are really doing is changing the length of lines.
Shorter front lines make the back lines longer. The bar can only travel so far, so in that effect, it would limit the amount of rake the kite can produce or relieve.

I do not agree with. Shorten the front lines reduce the AOA and this means you have less power in the kite. You also switch your sweet spot more down, a bit more comfortable

Does a wider bar increase a kite's rotational speed, or does it just appear to turn faster because the wider bar tightens its turning radius ( for same angle of bar rotation ) ?
    IMO it's the latter.

In since both are correct, action and reaction. Once upon a time when I raced, if I used anything more than a 45cm bar on my 11m Fone Diablo, the canopy would collapse. Cause by over steering the kite and it no longer be a sweeping turn, it would be a pivotable turn. Same with LEI, if you were to reach up and grab a steering line the kite would respond like you had a 100cm bar and it would then have a turn within its own axis.

I'm pretty sure you are wrong about the kite settings on the wing. If you move from the outer (soft in duotone) to the side cloer to the front lines (hard) your movement on the line will increase the angle on the kite. This will increase your turning speed and power range. You will also reduce your leverage on the kite making it feel harder to pull your turn (so more bar feel). Most likely the soft setting will be better for a beginner, as ther don't want the bar sensitivity, or turning speed. Let me know what you think
