My guess from your comment is that you don't actually know what sharia law is. There are no countries in the world right now that are governed by sharia law - sadly because we would see a lot fewer injustices and more equal rights for women if it was. In any case, sharia law states that one must follow the law of the country they live in. It also states that its laws do not apply to non-Muslims. That's why when Spain was a Muslim country for 700 years, Christians and Jews were allowed to follow their own laws and have their own courts. So these laws I mentioned may have something to do with why there has not been even one single attempt by a Muslim to make sharia law be included in the legal system. That's right, it's all fear-mongering that sadly many swallowed up without thinking or questioning. That's why education is so important.

No. They can't file for divorce as easily as men. In "real Sharia" the man can say "I divorce you" three times, but the same rules do not apply for women. The process for her is much more difficult. The first guy explains that a man can divorce a woman by talaaq (which is when he simply says "i divorce you" three times). It seems that he is allowed to do this just for being unhappy or dissatisfied, although most sources seem to advise him to try to make it work. This is just advice though, not compulsion. He can ultimately do what he wants. However the woman can't just divorce because she's unhappy in the situation like the man can. And she can't just say talaaq three times. She can only get permission to divorce FROM the husband himself (lol .. wow) OR she has to have a very extreme reason that she can bring infront of the Sharia court. For example if the husband simply disappears for 4 years or is insane or forces her into prostitution. And she needs to have proof, whereas the man doesn't. He can just say "talaaq talaaq talaaq". Apparently the instant 3x talaaq thing is from a Hadith, not the Quran, but it seems like many muslims agree with it and are following it. The explanations online of course try to sugar coat it, but clearly these rules are very unfair towards the woman. In your fantasy Islamic utopia it might appear nice, but in reality it obviously does not work out that way. When one person has way more power in a marriage they will abuse it (not all people, but many many people), because that's the way human nature is. Think about it.
You can argue that you interpret the talaaq verses differently or whatever, but I don't care. The issue for me is what most muslims, or even just a large percentage of muslims, are doing... I don't care about arguing what the Quran or Hadiths actually say. So that's why I say that if we see the majority of muslim people changing and being more humane to each other and people of other religions, then we won't have any problems anymore. But as it stands it's comparatively a pretty misogynistic, fascist and imperialistic religion in the way it's currently practiced by most people. So that's why a lot of the rest of us just do not want to be any where near a large concentrations of muslims. We know that it will just be a miserable situation and we don't want our lives to suck. However as soon as this changes in reality then we'll be fine with it.

marriage and abrogated his fatherhood of Zaid. Ayesha, who must have been
crestfallen, quietly uttered one of the most sarcastic remarks ever made to his
face. She said, Thy Lord doth hasten to please Thee." Zaid, having lost a wife
gained immortality. He is the only person beside Mohammed mentioned in Koran by
name.
I have often wondered what special services Zain do for

I will try to break it down to you. You can either want to read the quran with a literalist mindset, thinking that all the verses are seperated from one another. Or try to actually read the whole chapter or the whole book and understand. So here,
1. "Chapter 9 of the quran is in a context of war. Proofs? Quran 9:1 the first verse : [This is a declaration of] disassociation, from Allah and His Messenger, to those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists". So here we talk about a certain group of people who the muslims made a treaty with.
2. So what happened with this treaty ? Well the Meccan brok the treaty of peace they had with the muslims. Proofs ? 9:13 "Would you not fight a people who broke their oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had begun [the attack upon] you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are [truly] believers."
3. But what about the disbelivers that didn't break their oaths ?? quran 9:4 "Excepted are those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and then they have not been deficient toward you in anything or supported anyone against you; so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended]. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous."
4. What if one of the disbeliver seek the protection of the prophet and doesn't want to fight them ? 9:6 "And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah . Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know."
5. And finally how do you act towards disbelievers that are just toward you ? 60:8 "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly."
So in 60:8 it tells the muslim to be good toward the non believer who do not drive muslims out of their homes nor fight them because of their religion. Guess what the Meccans that broke the treaty did... Both. But the quran allows muslims to fight back when they are wronged and not turn the other cheek.

The verse you're referring to was in the context of a time of war where Muslims hadn't been allowed to engage in war against the people killing them. There's no point nitpicking verses without even learning the historical context it was revealed in. The verse you quoted was also a mistranslation. Look at the verse before and the one after as well.
